Not really mind-mapping.

2022-05-23

Mindlymindmapping looks beautiful and has a really well-designed interface, but it doesn't really offer what I need. To me, the whole point of mind-mapping is to visualize the links between things and ideas in order to reveal hidden connections. Mindlymindmapping does the mapping, but has no way to link objects except to the object they are initially linked to. So, for example, if you wanted to make a map where you have breakfast, lunch, and dinner foods, you could do that just fine. But if you wanted to show that cheeseburgers can be both a lunch and dinner food, the only way to do so is to create "cheeseburger" twice — once under lunch, then again under dinner. The ideal would be to create the object under one of them, then draw a link to the other, so you only have one "cheeseburger", and linked to both lunch and dinner. This way you see the connections between the ideas — again, the whole point of mind-mapping. Creating the object twice (one under each category) is accurate, but not useful, since you'd actually have to explore the entire map in order to make the connection that cheeseburger is under more than one category. Which, again, defeats the whole purpose of mind-mapping.

Okay

I think Mindlymindmapping is aesthetically pleasing and intuitive. But, it is very simplistic and lacking in functionality. My biggest complaint is the lack of ability to link recurring themes. For instance if I have two groups A, and B a subset of A, each having object x, I have to add x to A, and x to B, instead of the mind map linking x to both A and B. I then lose the visual cue that x is recurring. I could create a scenario where they all belong to the same ‘ring’ but that would be inaccurate as well. In that case, it would appear circular, so I’d miss the visual cue that A is a subset of B, and x is an object of both; they would all appear as equals... easy fix, allow lines to be drawn between custom objects.

Good but have some defiviency

2022-07-25

Surely this is the best app for mind mapping, but there are some bugs and deficiency in Mindlymindmapping which could be solved by the developer, such as the impossibility of make link between two or more parts or impossibility to set picture with text or icon for each tile or impossibility to sketch in the information of every tile or not having the same platform for mac version

I hope the developer read my review and make them right because most people want them

And by the way what's the difference between the plus version and the normal version?

Delete is broken

2022-08-26

Can’t long-press and delete maps as the docs claim. So once you hit the 2+included help map your done in the free version. That’s fair if this is actually a trial, but please note that in Mindlymindmapping . I just wasted my time trying to figure out how to do something that should be basic.

On the plus, the nodes are simple to add and an intriguing way to do mapping. Besides the delete issue (bug?) the rest is easy to use (iPad). It’s not really a normal mind map, but I can see advantages to hiding the detailed nodes under a parent, and you can get to a view that shows all nodes. Has the same weaknesses as all other mind maps for complex topics but you can do some involved mapping.

I love it but...

2022-09-27

I love the user interface! It is so clean. This way of structures going thoughts and ideas just feels right!
But, it is difficult to share the functionality and the experience with a boss or a client. The client will have to download Mindlymindmapping to view the idea cloud. You can send a pdf but they miss out on the experience of zooming in and out. The miss the exploration.
Here comes my wish, “I wish by the Gods of Development and coding, that we could send a client to our website. Embedded there would be the full functioning idea cloud”. Maybe this already exists?

Close to being Perfect.

2022-10-28

I just downloaded and played around with it. I’m starting to really like it so far. As someone who has organization problems and sometimes struggle to see the whole picture when working on projects, this really helps map everything out! I do think the color options are too limited though. For each word or concept I always have a very specific color attached to them. The way those colors makes me feel kind of help guide my thought processes a bit. I don’t know if many people equally feel this way also but that’s one of my quirks. Same thing also goes with the icons and emojis; way too limited. I love the print option. I wonder if I can blow the diagram up so I can print it on a poster and put it over my desk? Would be cool and extra helpful!!!

Nice! Missing a few features, however

2022-11-29

This is a great mind app tool! Visually clean and effective, while perfecting the ‘less is more’. Good tools and customization. I appreciate the lack of ads, yet the option to purchase had good incentive and I may do in the future.

My biggest complaints is the lack of options to tailor particular maps, and the overall app could benefit with some more options (dark and light theme, for one). I also don’t like how I seem to lac control in how the map appears on the screen, depending on how much or little links.

Finally, I would appreciate it taking the term mind map to its full potential. It lacks an option to link similar and recurring themes. Having that option would be a dealbreaker, even if it could be linked to purchasing, is something I’d be willing to do.

Overall though, great app! Extremely helpful for my visual and hands on self.

Great Tool To Manage Your Next Big Things

2022-12-30

I come up with a thousand and one ideas to do something different and better in my day to day challenges at work and now I have a tool that assists in adding depth and greater clarity to my processes. I love it! I would give it 5 stars if I could add Google Drive links but they show up with just the link symbol and no title to distinguish what’s in the link. This could be exceptional if you were able to add Presentations, PDFs, or documents to your bubbles instead of just notes.

Great app, one request:

2023-01-31

Appreciate simplicity of flowing from one node to another and easily connecting, adding, removing and editing nodes. Fun and fast.

One request that would take this to 5 stars: the ability to import links -- web pages, images, videos, etc. Currently I can set the title or description of a node to an http link, but it's not clickable, let alone expanded and previewing the content at the link. This would make finding items out and about in the web so easy to import into Mindly and add to the map of your choosing.

Do you have plans to add such a feature?

Great app- they should add

2023-03-04

So I ❤️ Mindlymindmapping. But this is all that I am missing and i promise it’s a good idea. Sometimes i make my list in both a plan-ful manner or others in a mind-vomit way that I need the creation of the maps to move more quickly. Like sometimes I want the lists to turn into sub-bubbles so I don’t duplicate. Other times I don’t need a sub-list. Either way, and automated feature that would make that work would be cool. I’m sure it’s like an if this box is checked then do that.... maybe an incorporation with ifttt?

Lots of Potential

2023-04-02

Mindlymindmapping looks great and is very easy to use. If you could work with multiple people on one map real time that would make Mindlymindmapping 10 times better. I am working on one map with a group and we have to work on it one at a time and constantly delete the previous map to keep our progress safe and it is pretty time consuming and at times frustrating. Other than that there are just a few small details that I’m not satisfied with. Other than that Mindlymindmapping is great and I am exited to see it grow to its greatest potential!

Great app! Limited UI

2023-05-04

Mindlymindmapping is awesome and is exactly the right style/layout for mind mapping. I wish it had Windows 10/MacOS apps as well, and the UI on iPhone could be more flexible/mailable. I’ve found it’s most effective to have 5 or less child items of another for visibility/interaction, but often find I want/need more and then can’t ever see the whole map except print preview. It would also be great to have options for printing, like to span a full diagram across multiple “Letter” sized pieces of paper to assemble a larger format poster, but I can accomplish that with some manipulating of PDF exports in Adobe for now.

Mindly Review

2023-06-04

Overall Mindlymindmapping is very efficient and does exactly what I’d hope it would do. Very colorful and smooth no crashes or any bugs. I would like to add some constructive criticism that could take Mindly to the next level. Right now Mindly is an app that’s used for notes and that’s good but making the notes shareable and being able to edit things and seeing other people’s changes would add a bubbly aspect to Mindly. This would help Mindly spread like wildfire with everyone telling each other to get Mindly so they can plan events, create group projects easier, and overall help with organization. I see Mindlymindmapping having a lot of potential and I have high hopes for what Mindly could be someday.

Great app!

2023-07-06

Really love Mindlymindmapping. I have had the free version it for years. Just recently purchased the full version. Money well spent. This by far is the best App for brainstorming, note taking and most importantly for me—breaking down books and organizing key elements from chapters. I use Mindlymindmapping daily.

For developers:
I love the concept of being able to go deeper and deeper or further and further with each branch/thought bubble. However, sometimes I just want to end a bubble when I have nothing more to add. It just gets distracting to still see the circle with the (+) signs still around a particular bubble/note that has concluded.

It would be great if the user had more control with the option to also end a particular branch bubble, giving the user the option to eliminate the circle with the (+) around a bubble/note all together when not necessary. And the ability to add it back if/when needed. Not sure if I am clear here or if this is communicated properly but I think this would definitely enhance the user experience (well for me anyway).

But overall...AMAZING APP!

Organizing my thoughts, ideas and projects

2023-08-06

Here is a list of what I use Mindlymindmapping for.

Product development engineer
- Product Design Ideas
- Project Management
- Daily Task Management

Student
- Break down needs of papers and projects

Graphic Design
- Break down logo ideas
- Using this along with a random word generator and thesaurus to develop branding names and logos

Woodworking
- Using this along with a random word generator and thesaurus to get ideas for new and creative furniture and home decor.

Renovating my house
- Break down all projects around the house needing done down to what I need to complete each project.

Wants for the future:
1. The ability to make the bubbles a task that I can simply double tap (or something) to complete it.
2. Compatible with windows. Aside from my iPhone I use all Microsoft products and would love to be able to use this on my desktop so I’m not on my phone all day.

Love! This!

2023-09-07

I’m using Mindlymindmapping to help me develop a story. I purchased Mindlymindmapping and it’s the best purchase I’ve probably ever made.

It’s easier for me to organize my ideas and work through any decisions I need to make within the narrative. I store my characters and their whole lives in here. It’s so helpful when I go to sit down and actually write it out because I can reference the bones on Mindlymindmapping. The bones of my universe and the people in it. I absolutely love how this helps me wrap my head around ideas and projects easier. Bravo!

Strangely Satisfying

2023-10-09

I’ve not found a perfect mind mapping app (other than note-taking apps), but the way the elements spin is strangely satisfying. Hopefully they are able to expand the views so you can adjust the sizes of the circles and text in individual elements. It would also be nice to be able to make adjustments to the layout of the view of the entire map. Even without those two things I give this 5 stars though. There are some cool things you can do with this that you just can’t do with other mind mapping apps (like spinning to see what element comes up wheel of fortune style when looking for inspiration or a change of focus). It really is a cool app.

Never knew I needed this!

2023-11-09

Mindly supports exactly how my mind works! I get easily distracted and excited by ideas and stimuli, and this gives me a logical place to put everything. I’ve always tried to force myself into linear models, which don’t work for my wandering, sometimes circular thinking and excitability. Mindlymindmapping has helped me map my career path as I navigate changing careers. I’m very grateful. I like the color scheme and for my purposes, the selection is sufficient because for my current project I’m not using color coding. Echoing what another reviewer said, the one feature that would be helpful is a better way of capturing web links. Web links should be more visually appealing and user friendly. That’s my only constructive comment; otherwise it is wonderful for my purposes.

Fantastic app! I love it

2023-12-11

Mindlymindmapping makes it so easy to map out my essays and other stuff (yes I know I’m so specific). I do not know what I would do without it! Mindlymindmapping is very self explanatory and, quite frankly, fun to use. I love all the different color options. I also like how you can write the main idea of a bubble and go into detail about it underneath. There are endless opportunities on this fantastic app. I really enjoy using it. I would highly recommend it for all students and other people. I do not have the pro version, but I really do not have a need to get it because all it does is provide you with the ability to do more bubbles, but you can make plenty bubbles without it. So, all in all, I think you, reader, should get Mindlymindmapping to organize your thoughts, plan out an essay, etc, etc.

I'm already hooked

2024-01-11

I've been on Mindlymindmapping for about an hour now and frankly I'm already hooked. It's just very easy and delightfully infinite which is not something one needs but it makes me pretty giddy anyway. No matter how many ideas you add to it, it looks good and it makes something about the tangential mind mapping process a lot more delightful. I'm looking forward to using Mindlymindmapping more and I hope they makes some kind of desktop version at some point.

On the right path

2024-11-17

Mindlymindmapping has lots of potential. Great look compared to the rest, but missing basic functionality, including enlarged note pages (they remain minimal, even on a computer version), text editing capability (bold, italic, font options would be nice!) and collage capability to add photos/snippets to the actual note page (images currently attach as a lone circle). Circles can be colored (textures would also be nice) and icons can be added (instead of icons, it would be nice to choose a background image from photos). Then make the whole thing 3D to visually link different themes to other distant circles (avoiding redundancy/replication), and then make it movable with Apple finger commands for efficiency/speed. So close (closer than the rest), yet so far from perfect for note compiling and innovative and artistic thinking. I will do my best to use it until future upgrades have the aforementioned demands~ thanks and you’re welcome!
