Sure wish I could give 0 stars

GulfPower doesn’t connect to my account. I don’t know maybe GulfPower works right it’s just Gulf Power’s fault. From literally having to speak gibberish to talk to an actual person, then when they finally answer they give bogus information sending you back to GulfPower that doesn’t work, I just am so upset that they literally will not take my money. It dumbfounds me that a power company has the poorest customer service of any company I have ever come into contact with. Working for utility company myself, I’m very thankful for the lineman actually out there doing the work and all the field employees. But whatever they have decided to do in the office has completely ruined their reputation as a company in my eyes. I just want to pay my bill and surely hope after two months of trying to resolve all the issues and finally figuring out all I have to do is say blah blah blah on the phone to speak to a rude and non helpful representative every single time, that they don’t cut my power off. My best regards to the few actual career-loving employees that still work there. I’m sure this will be one of the notes on my account as well. Thanks Gulf Power :)

Requires two passwords, can’t open Energy Select

I now have to have TWO different passwords to access and manage my account. The new upgrade of my Gulf Power account required a new password with certain requirements, namely no special characters. However, the Energy Select portal requires special characters in the password. Energy Select isn’t some knockoff program. Gulf Power touts it as if it’s their flagship program. Yet they don’t treat it as such. Accessing the portal is a nightmare (you have to dig through layers upon layers in GulfPower ), and they keep changing the url, so bookmarking it is pointless. And now that I need TWO different passwords to manage my account is utterly ridiculous.

No contact number

Did you guys think you figured out every single question a customer would have and program it into GulfPower ? Clearly your developers aren’t geniuses because they didn’t! I can’t see my budget bill breakdown with the actual charges. This feature is no longer accessible since update. There’s no way to find a contact number for real support.

Oh and in case you defer to the “call the customer service number on tour bill” option, when you click to view your bill it screams “NO BILL AVAILABLE” at you. So tell me now what the hell I'm supposed to do? Providing no support is no way to provide support. Just terrible!

Cumbersome

The new app replacing the Southern Company designed app is geared for bill payment and not other information. I used GulfPower for power outage information and the old one gave great detail in location and expected duration. This version gives general data that is essentially useless as compared to past. Expanding the small map does not get specific enough.

Aggravating

Nothing but issues. Wound up with 2 refunded payments. Then a late bill, then charged for late fee and having to use my card to pay, which I had to jump hoops just to figure out how to do. Tried calling and account number wouldn’t work. Fix the issue with selecting payment method before you late charge people, every time I’d click on it, it would redirect me rite back to the last page I was on. 0 stars from me.

Energy Select Thermostat

I can’t seem to find any way to access my energy select thermostat and water heater settings on my iPhone with the new app. I don’t see any improvements, it’s just another change to learn.

Can we go back to the old app?

The new app is like 10 steps back and it has less functionality than the one we were using that it replaced. Normally when you come out with a new app upgrade the new one has more features and functions and not the case with this new GP app. I used to track my usage, new app doesn’t do that. The new app is a loser, can we have the old one back that work like we need it to?

Great app...

GulfPower is a major improvement from the old Gulf Power (when it was part of Souther Co.). It is very ease to use, easy to read, laid out well and very informative.

Much better

Thanks for this update. It’s much easier to use now than before.

Easy to use

Can check my bill easily and pay.

Got worse not better

Before the software update you could see daily energy usage in dollar value and KWh. The current software really shows you nothing and is harder to navigate to the tools needed which ends up making phone calls to customer support.

Want let you Verify password

During initial app setup where your asked for new password and to confirm password. Your unable to scroll up enough so you can type in and confirm password. I’m unable to proceed any further.....maybe the developer should try using app on actual iso device before releasing it in App Store

App No Good

App is no good. Website is no good. It’s all a lose-lose situation. I tried to log in, couldn’t remember my ID, had them figure it out but it showed the first few letters then stars. Couldn’t remember my password but since I still don’t know my user name I can’t reset my password. This was not well thought out.

Not just the app

Not only does GulfPower not function correctly but neither does the website. Constantly log in and can’t find account information. Call tech support they get me in and 5 minutes later I can’t access account info again!

So far so good

This is the second month I have used GulfPower, I like it a lot.
