It’s really more of a 3.75 star APP

Firstly, I will say that being able to fax from home without a fax machine is incredible in and of itself. TinyFax allows you to execute this task. That said, there are some things you should know. While TinyFax is free, you are paying for “credits” that allow you to send faxes. Each 10credits is one page that you can send. The good thing is that does exclude your cover page, thats free. For 9.99 you get 250 credits or 25 pages. Secondly, there are no instructions. While TinyFax does a decent job being intuitive, I found adding the cover letter to be a challenge. I would click to the side of the letter and it kept erasing and I had to start over a bunch of times. I would highly recommend copying the body of your fax cover letter if it is lengthy just to save time as you get adjusted. Lastly, I would say to take the photo of whatever you want to fax over first before attempting to fax it. I didn’t see where you could the picture while “in TinyFax ” to add it to your fax. All in all, it’s worth the time and investment because once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty smooth sailing. Didnt take long to complete once the fax is sent. Maybe a couple of minutes. Good luck and I hope this helps you.

I TRUST TINY FAX 100%!

I have used the Tiny Fax App on three different iPhones over the last 3+ years. It is completely user-friendly, efficient and it flawlessly interacts with a variety of third-party document storage apps. The documents I fax include critical legal documents to federal courts around the US as well as critical correspondence to many other State & Federal agencies. Each of these faxes was time sensitive and in many cases I had no opportunity to send a follow-up fax if the first fax didn’t arrive properly. Final score: 100% successful. 100% on-time. 100% accurate. But here’s the icing in the cake: I had a question about 25 credits that didn’t ‘t appear on my App. I contacted Customer Support and within less than an hour (& outside regular business hours) they resolved the problem and restored not 25 credits but 50! It simply doesn’t get any better than this. From this customer for life, I recommend you try Tiny Fax before you try anything else!

I really wanted to like this app....

After reading so many great reviews, I decided to try TinyFax because I often need to fax things and don’t have a fax machine. My first fax was great and went through without a problem. I decided to pay 9.99 and purchase plenty of credits knowing that I would use them in the future. Unfortunately, when I went to use it again, all of my credits were gone. So I purchased 50 more for $2.99. But when I exited TinyFax and came back in, all the credits were gone again. I sent an email to the company and was advised to make sure I was using the latest version because they knew about the problem and had fixed it. But even after making sure I was using the latest version, my credits are still gone. So I paid almost $13, and only sent 7 pages. I should have saved my money and went to Fedex. I’m very disappointed.
UPDATE: I am adding stars to my review because the help center was quick to respond and help troubleshoot the problem. They ended up replacing the lost credits. I am impressed with the customer service.

THIS APP TAKE ADVANTAGE!!

I am not happy with myself writing this review because I never want to be that nagging negative entitled person. I just can’t express how insane the amount you get changed through TinyFax. I thought it was free and I only needed it for one day!! So because I needed it I sucked it up and payed the almost 3$ for two sheets of paper to be sent over to a place not even 20 mins from me. Yes, I can drive no, I’m not lazy I just was not able to do to the situation. So I end up paying 12$ (rounding) give or take for a not many papers. THEN charged an additional 10$ (rounding) a couple days later. I just can not get over the fact that you pay to fax ONTOP of a I’m guessing “monthly fee”... Just blows my mind the sneak ness of these apps drive me nutts.. Now I can not go fwd with very Important tasks tonight because of a pending charge that must be paid in order to proceed any downloads. I won’t put my personal card on due to me NOT trust Apple and how NOTHING is free with the company.. I miss my Samsung.!!! I would go back in a heart beat ... This caused so much hardship on me because I’m not in the position to transfer money to this added card. It won’t allow it nor will they all a card not to be stored. Just so frustrating. TinyFax is NOT FREE NOR WILL IT BE CHEEP!!

Quick, Easy, Inexpensive, Convenient!

Lately, I’ve been running into situations where scanning and emailing are (oddly) not yet available for some institutions, and TinyFax has been a very convenient tool to get docs faxed. I know I can get them faxed for free at my bank, but this saves me the time and I can keep doing what I need without leaving. I either scan within TinyFax , or use photos from my device as the image source, Cover pages are free, and then I buy credit coins as I need them. To fax 3 pages of my documents (+ the free cover), is about 60 cents a page. I don’t fax very often, so I don’t buy a lot of the credit coins (I think the bigger volume, the better the pricing), but the smallest amount is $2.99 for 50 credits, and the 3 Page + Cover Fax I just sent was 30 credits/$1.79 total. Cheaper than keeping a phone line for faxing, more convenient than driving to the bank or UPS Store. Thumbs up!

Works well!

I have had very few occasions when I needed to fax something but being disabled i have to ask someone else to help me with it which isn’t ideal. This week I had to send a letter quickly and couldn’t find anyone willing to assist me this time but the customer service agent suggested using a web app and so I checked TinyFax Store and found Tiny Fax. It appeared to have good reviews and so I downloaded it and bought 50 credits which cost $2.99 not $1.99 as another reviewer stated and after setting up a cover sheet and taking a screenshot of my letter which I had composed in Pages, I sent off a 2 page document costing 10 credits. It took a minute or so to send but eventually I got the check mark and that’s that. There should be a more obvious way to add spaces between the telephone numbers on the cover sheet, ( I used the * symbol ), but otherwise it seems very useful, although the cost was higher than expected though much cheaper and less hassle than a trip to the library or office store.

Need some help with credits, please

Hello! First, TinyFax is great. I use it occasionally with great results. I don’t need to fax every day. But when I do, I am so happy with TinyFax. My question is how do I see how many credits I already have without having to buy more first? I tend to purchase more credits than I needed to send my faxes. My plan is to have credits available in advance so TinyFax is ready to go. But each time I open TinyFax , it tells me I don’t have any credits when I am sure I do. Last month, I purchased more credits when sending out a big file. Today, when I wanted to send one page, TinyFax said I didn’t have any credits. After futzing around, opening all the pages, I couldn’t find anything to help me. So I purchased another 50 credits. Once loaded, my account read 430 credits. I don’t mind having the extra credits. I just don’t get to see them until I purchased more credits. What am I missing or doing wrong? I appreciate your assistance.

Did not realize I would need to pay per page faxed

I use Tiny Scan all the time, and it works great. You can pay for an upgrade to Tiny Scan but you can also get by for free. TinyFax is free to download but not free to use. You cannot fax anything with it unless you pay for faxing credits. If you only need to rarely fax things it is easier than driving to the copy shop though, because who owns a fax machine anymore???

It is also not intuitive that you don't open Tiny Fax to use it if you scanned your docs with Tiny Scan. You just select fax from the send menu in Tiny Scan after you scan your pages, then Tiny Scan automatically takes you to Tiny Fax to send those pages as a fax. If you use your phones camera to take pics of your pages directly from Tiny Fax, you don't get the corner cropping dots so your fax is of your document plus whatever surface to laid it on the snap the image. Therefore I went through Tiny Scan since it crops according to your wishes and then turns the cropped image into a PDF which Tiny Fax then can send for you.

Facing great. Pricing strange.

From a fax tool perspective and usability TinyFax is great and would be five stars. But the cost to send fax’s appears to be 10 credits per photo/page faxed. Not sure if that due to photo quality settings. When I started today there was nothing that told me how many “credits” my fax would cost me. So I had 40 credits and 9 pages to fax so I thought I was good. But in the last step of sending I was informed I needed more credits but it didn’t tell me how many more I needed. I assumed, then, it was 10 credits per page and bought 50 more credits for $2.99. And that did the trick.

On the plus side you can easily create cover pages us camera or photos, edit, rotate crop pages and see fax results. The one other drawback is that it takes a while to upload my 9 photos to tiny fax for sending on WiFi so I had to wait about 5 minutes with a spinning icon saying sending but no idea which page it was on. 1,2,3 ... maybe in the next release? :-)

Good app

I have used TinyFax for several years now and it is so convienient and a lot cheaper than going elsewhere and take the time traveling to complete a fax. I sent 5 pages for 40 credits and spent 2.99 on 50. It costs roughly ten credits to send one page. Cover page not included. I do feel that now that there are services offering first 3 pages plus cover for free they may consider doing the same. I have found it cheaper elsewhere on the web but since using TinyFax for years now I trust it and have all my faxes I’ve done in one spot to reference to if need be. One more thing, when uploading a page to TinyFax you can either take photo of page or select from your photo library and no option to upload a pdf document. I felt it should offer this as well for uploading pages. That is in reference to me using an iPhone with TinyFax. Overall great app and reliable. Could be cheaper. Please consider reducing prices to match competitors.

Easy To Use & Sends Timely Faxes

I used to pay for a month fax service that I used with my scanner. However, it was way too pricey so I was looking for an app on my phone that would be affordable but also easy to use and sends my weekly faxes 'on time'. I decided to give this faxing app a try 5 months ago now and it has been SO convenient and reliable. It is one of my best go-to apps on my iPhone. I just purchase 50 credits (pay as I go) through TinyFax . Then I take a photo of my docs on my iPhone or you can choose a doc among your photos. The docs look great in the fax mode, which you can see before you fax them. You then enter the fax number and you can add a cover letter (if applicable) and then fax. All of my faxes are sent within 2-5 mins. and I see the SUCCESS prompt when it's finished. If the fax number is incorrect, it lets you know that too.

User-friendly fax app but not free

TinyFax for sending faxes is very easy and straightforward minus the required cost at the end. I use Tiny Scanner often which allows you some free content but because of how useful and simple that app is, I chose to upgrade to premium. I assumed TinyFax would follow suit as in something like a maximum of 2 free facsimiles per day with a maximum page count etc. Without a doubt Tiny Fax is an extremely user friendly app but users should be made aware up front that there is an associated cost to send any fax instead of preparing all of the documents and ready to send just to find out you are required to purchase credits. My fax consisted of a cover page(free) and two additional documents for a total cost of 20 credits to send. Prices started at $2.99 for 50 credits and on up with a better value the more credits purchased. Not sure what it costs to send a fax at Office Depot etc but using TinyFax was still a pain free process.

Made my life simpler

I found TinyFax by accident trying to figure out if I could even send a fax online because I did not want to drive to my "nearest" Office Depot that is 10 mins away. I stumbled upon TinyFax and I couldn't be happier. I printed out my document, filled it out, scanned it, and uploaded it to google drive (which is why I'm giving this 4 stars) once I tried accessing google drive through TinyFax I wasn't able to so I had to go through Dropbox. It's not really a huge deal but it is an inconvenience because it's a useless option. Overall I sent a fax while I was in the bathroom (I know TMI) but I want to emphasis the fact that I sent a fax using my tablet instead of driving and using a fax machine. You do have to buy credits to send a fax. I bought 50 for 2.99 I only used 10 to send 1 page which is fair considering I pay about the same at Office Depot and it saved me the time and drive. Thank you tiny fax :D

Helping me speed up a disability case!

TinyFax has proven absolutely invaluable to me in the handling of forms from my lawyers to my doctors during my disability evaluations. I have no real home office but just received email forms from my lawyers to be completed by my doctors, and all I had to do was save the forms, then fax them to my Primary Care Provider, as well as my Pain Specialist and Physical Therapist for some extra opinions on the matter and was able to get all that done in really a matter of minutes! Will come in handy again once the forms are completed so I can fax them back to my lawyers as well! How does TinyFax stack up against other apps that fax as well? That I don’t know for sure, because this is the first one I’ve tried and it works so well I’ve no desire nor need to try another! 5 stars!

Didn’t work

Original version was called Tiny Fax, which was free and worked flawlessly every time. I only fax when I cannot email so each banks is somewhat dire for the recipient. Upon opening up tiny packs I found that I had to upgrade which I did also notice that each one was paid per fax, which was fine based off my past experience. I made the fax, and reported it was sent successfully by TinyFax ; but I was informed by the recipient that it never was received. Upon reporting this to the developer I was asked to get the phone number, which I did. Later I received an email telling me that the fax was sent successfully; Gee, thanks I told you that in my email to you. Apparently there is no remedy from the developer when this situation happens, so the money you spend is theirs to keep; which is fine, but I’m not going to go over and over this again and again via email for such a small amount. I simply won’t use it ever again, as I depend on each fax as I have no alternative. I found another app, that is free, that worked as I expected. I’ll keep it for now.

Easy and flexible

Love it so far. I'm happy to find that you don't have to scan your docs from your phone if you don't want to. I make high-quality pdfs on my scanner, upload them to Google Drive, and then instantly import them into TinyFax. Then just type in the fax number, hit a button, and the fax is off and faxing. The whole concept of faxing is silly in the 21st century, when everyone can email instantly FOR FREE. But some organizations still insist on faxes, so TinyFax is handy. Yes, this costs money. You need to buy credits and pay by the page. (I'm already wishing I'd bought the $9.99 bundle the first time.) But it's much cheaper than the crazy price ($1.59+ per page) that FedEx Office charges. And you can use TinyFax from anywhere, so you save time. I also like the way TinyFax saves a record of each fax I have sent.

Fax.

My husband and I moved to the middle of nowhere and the closest town to us is about 30 minutes away. I needed to find a way to fax my old employer some of my documents. I’ve always used tiny scanner and I love it. When I saw Tiny Fax I was a little hesitant because we don’t have good cell phone service where we currently live. I purchased 50 credits for 2.99 it cost me 40 credits to fax 5 pages. I called my employer to see if they received it and they did receive my fax indeed. I never really rate anything but this right here needs a good rating. I was able to send a fax from the middle of nowhere just using very low WiFi and cell service. Worth my 2.99 purchase. Will be using from now on. It deff kept me from loading 3 small kids into my car and driving 30 mins away to fax 5 pages.

Great app, minor issues

Not surprised it's a pay app, which doesn't bother me, but the cost per sheet is much higher unless you buy bulk. Fine for me, because I use professionally, but would be problematic for someone who only needed a quick fax solution once or twice.
My one concern is the number of times I have returned to home screen to continue working, expecting the confirmation message shortly (which normally comes) only to find myself reopening TinyFax a week later to use again and seeing my previous week's fax still sitting in queue in the act of sending! No wonder my boss had made a comment about the lag time on my paperwork sometimes...I thought he meant hours, but he meant DAYS! Watch out for that.
Otherwise, this is a convenient app, and I like that it will copy over from my scan app automatically. Clarity is good, speed is acceptable (usually).

Great For Faxes When You Don't Fax Often

TinyFax is great for when you need to make a fax but don't have access to a fax machine. It is a little pricey but then again who faxes much anymore? I ended up paying around six dollars (90 credits at 2.99 per 50 credits)to send nine pages but it's better than running up to Kinko's or Staples. They are expensive as well.

Also, you don't have to necessarily prepay. You pay for credits when you need them. The only suggestion I have is to make packages of credits in smaller amounts. Such as 10 or 20. I needed 40 credits more to send my fax but ended up having to pay for 50. Granted I will probably use those credits since they do not expire however not everyone will.

Overall, a great little app that's easy to use.

Nice, simple layout and GUI

TinyFax is by the same maker of the great app, Tiny Scan. It follows the same rules of simplicity and well thought Layout. One thing that may be improved in a future version is the ability to save your stands during the scanning process, so if you go back a step or two if you don't go back far enough to erase your scans from memory and then have to start over again. Rates are reasonable to fax… I paid around six dollars to fax six pages. I believe you also have the ability to use iTunes gift cards since the money you pay goes through iTunes. The ability to re-order pages once you scan them in would be helpful for a future version, too-unless this version has it and I just didn't know about that feature. :) Overall, a solid, reliable app that will let you take care of business like a pro!

Good to have handy!

I’ve been using Tiny Scanner (same company) for a few years, since my (2004 edition!!) Quick-Books program mysteriously stopped creating PDF’s and THEN quit allowing me to print to “Nitro PDF Creator” as my chosen “printer” on the desktop either; so my biz emails all use iPhone “Tiny Scanner” pdf’s which is super convenient. Since I have to fax once-a-year or so, downloaded this & kept it on my phone with 10 purchased credits “just in case”, reasonable prices on credits, and not have an XR phone which max memory - Finally! - so not tempted to delete my rarely used or unused apps. I used it just now to apply with a paper application to be a poll-worker for 2020 election, when voting Nov 3, last week; similar cropping format to Tiny Scanner was easy to send my first fax; and comments regarding a time-lag when sending did not apply to me sending this local fax; “processing” whirly icon lasted a reasonable amount of time compared to a free standing fax machine & it said “sent!”(and asked for a review) Thanks ! Used to pay highway robbery prices at FedX for my occasional faxes

I’ve emailed you guys in regards to my points, I’ve had tiny fax for some years now but lately every time I want to fax I would have to purchase points, even though I have over 500 points. Once I purchase the lowest amount, my points show up. I haven’t gotten a response back from Tiny Fax….should I report you guys to Consumer Affairs and the BBB?! I need answer!
