Biased news, faulty sources , app crashes all the time , incorrect fake news
Clearly no human is even reviewing or even reading the content, which is embarrassing since they only update it once a day.
For example today is October 2 and it has article “President Trump unveils $100,000 fee in H-1B visa”, which happened weeks ago.
Probably some team worked on this, they decided it was a bad idea, not even worth having a single human support it.
It’s funny because the big lesson from TikTok is that you can get good results if you actually pay humans to select good content.
One of the best parts of Kagi is the ability to customize lenses and rank or exclude specific sources. Why can’t I do this in Kite News? I want to be able to build my own categories and my own sources. I want to downrank and uprank my own sources.
I really like KagiNews UI and the idea is sound, but this is just another news app that doesn’t respect the user interests and expects everyone to be the same.
Neat idea in theory, but most of the AI summaries of events are pretty bland and bad, and the cited sources don’t always make sense with the claim from the summary. That’s a pretty big red flag for a news app. I don’t want to see a half baked conclusion reached by an LLM, I just want to know the objective facts surrounding an event.

There is so much spin and an overwhelming onslaught of “breaking news” in the attention economy that it is exhausting. Kagi News is excellent because it gives multiple perspectives on the news once a day. We don’t need to constantly be updated. It allows me to be informed but also be present in my daily life without a constant barrage of alerts that pull me away from what really matters.
Close your eyes. Imagine you have a personal assistant. Now imagine this assistant does hours of research every morning and summarizes the five most important stories as you sip your cup of joe. You can open your eyes now.

2025.09.24: fully blind user using iOS 26… Kagi News>Settings>Number of stories shown - I use VoiceOver and the slider is broken, can decrease down to 0% but it can’t increase by any increments, didn’t think it would be fair to give one star because I’m certain it will be fixed, hopefully; I intend to edit this review only one time, and hopefully the review and not the rating
