It’s nice that there are no ads, but there are some frustrating features that have been bothering me while I’ve used this for the past week. When listening to a video, if I turn off the screen, it feels like a coin flip if the video will continue playing or not, and when I open ProTube again, the video stays as a black screen until I move the progress bar of the video around. Also, if I’m watching in full screen mode and the video ends, the video will automatically loop itself even though I have the loop feature off. And if the video ends while the screen is off, it’ll automatically move to another random video. When the video does loop itself, it’ll play audio for a few seconds then mute itself, and the same thing will happen occasionally if I want to go to a certain point in a video. One last issue is that when listening on earbuds and I use them to pause/play a video, it’ll only resume a video part of the time. More often than not it doesn’t continue the video but start up the music from my music app. So quite a few frustrations in trying to use ProTube. It’d be nice if they all got fixed.

Aside from the ad-free experience, ProTube has some bugs that make it difficult to use it. For instance, when you switch to full screen viewing, the entire UI changes which makes the captions disappear and the menu becomes unusable. Also, when moving between normal viewing and the mini-player, is also hard to use. It gets stuck in random parts of the screen, and then I have to restart ProTube to fix it. Lastly, after a few weeks of using ProTube , the background play feature stopped working, and the only way to get it to work is to also restart ProTube . After 2 or 3 times of it actually functioning, it stopped again. Please just add a full screen feature, and just fix the bugs here and there.

Looks like YT without the ads, but the experience can be as frustrating as having to sit thru the ads themselves. ProTube is slow and unresponsive at times forcing me to close and reopen ProTube . Full screen is 180° upside down from that of the YT app and other video players. I can like videos and save them to a list. I can also subscribe to channels, but I cannot choose to silence notifications. I do like that ProTube can play videos while the screen is locked and that it doesn’t collect user data and hope that an update is released that fixes the issues I described.

When it works, it’s a nice app, but it’s buggy and missing too many essential features from the official app. The sound stops working and the playback options are different between portrait and landscape mode. In both modes, I would like to be able to use double tap gestures to 10s rewind and fast forward, as well as long hold to play at 2x speed. It would also be nice to be able to sort comments by newest or top.

When I go to check for related videos under the video I’m watching. There is no time for how long ago it released. This made me think that there’s some new videos covering interesting topics in 2026 only to find out it’s from 6 years ago and outdated.

Also I realized I miss having the title of the video when I clicked on the full screened video screen. To see the title again I needed to fully exit full screen

I like the way it looks so far! However, I think there’s a bug. It won’t let me type past one character! So when I try to search anything, I just… can’t. As for signing in, I can’t copy and paste my email to get in either. If this can be fixed, this would be would be super great!

Overall ok just that each time I open back ProTube , sometimes the playback pauses for few seconds the plays.. sometimes it doesn't. Hope to fix this bug .

I would have zero complaints if ProTube wouldn’t glitch (by not loading the video) whenever you wanted to shuffle a playlist. Otherwise I would’ve rated ProTube a 5/5.

Please fix and update if open app page and sometimes forget close apps then phone battery all over drain please fix thank you otherwise very good apps thank you

I like ProTube and it really dont give ads it have some bugs like when i finish watching a video and enter another video it show a bigger screen and cant even watch video properly

You can play the video without logging in to the account. After logging in, it cannot be played. It shows that "the response received is invalid". Please check it!

ProTube is amazing, but there is an issue with the highest quality being set up as default (2160) which keeps buffering if mobile internet is used, even if it’s high speed 5G.
The exact issue is that after adjusting to 720, as soon as it switches to the next video it goes back to the highest quality.
It’s very inconvenient and makes it difficult to use if listening to the music while driving…

Could you guys make an option in settings to select lower quality that would stay set up like that unless the user decides to change it?

ok i have tried lik 20 apps free and paid for watching yputube but out of all them i found this one perfect of them all and the best one thank you delelopers i appreciate your work may god bless you and pay you for creating such awesome apps for us and leaving it free for gods children us to ise it and enjoy thwir time and life and as a recommendation i would like to say if possible please put advanced player in full screenmpfe too thanks again appreciate your work and awesome app✌️✌️✌️

This is a very nice app and helps me watch and listen to what I love. My only issue with ProTube is that Picture in Picture doesn't work properly, so maybe there will be an update to fix that?

Great app, clean interface (less than the official yt app but that’s understandable) and no ads+shorts blocking!
Would love a way to see notifications, I’m pretty sure there’s not one unless I’m missing it, and also a way to tip the devs of this amazing software

If you haven’t noticed ProTube always goes into landscape mode with a bug. Why don’t you just add it as a feature then that way it won’t be glitchy

Can’t close long form vid at the bottom when scrolling main page. Also add captions to full screen mode please

Highly recommend ProTube as an alternative. I love how clean and simple ProTube it is and lets you sign in no issue. It gets updated regularly with user feedback and does all that is promised.
Would love if there was a choice to change the icon to a dark version and also a spot to tip the dev.

Either way, incredible app.
