Doesn’t work, premium ads are extremely bothersome

Tried to log a meal by using the ai scanner. Didn’t work. I suppose it’s only for the paid account. Tried to scan the barcode. Didn’t work. Not to mention after EVERY user interaction, an ad pops up to subscribe to the premium account. Horrible user experience and is more annoying to use it. I’d rather use any other app because the whole purpose is to make logging food quick, but with all the pop ups and having to manually enter every entry, it takes twice as long to log food than a different app or just using pen and paper. SnapCal just isn’t worth the trouble. ALSO- their recipes look yummy but don’t write how much 1 serving is equal to… 100g? 20g? It doesn’t say so the calorie and macro counts don’t have any value if you don’t know the serving size

Disappointing

At first, SnapCal looked promising. However, it was full of bugs and half of it stopped working after 2 days even though I still had an active subscription.

It did not track workout data even though Health+ was connected and all options were enabled.

After two days, the top widget that specifies the remaining calories went completely empty.

Taking a picture of a nutrition label was never accurate.

Lastly, there is no account creation so you lose data if you delete SnapCal or download on a different device.

Trash

SnapCal is complete trash. I switched my phone and couldn’t log in my account, also the calories are way off. It gives you wrong information

Camera option

The calories are extremely inconsistent. A picture of the same meal varies by 300 cal. Also, the camera function stopped working midway through the week.

Difficult

SnapCal won’t let me enter my amounts. For instance if I type a food in and it says 1 oz but classifies it as a serving. What is a serving? And once I change anything such as weight it won’t let me log it. SnapCal is too difficult to use

Not Usable

SnapCal is hard to use. Unable to input portions of weight or servings. For example it isn’t possible to enter 1 & 1/2 cups of a food. Only choice is 1 or 2.
Also most foods are listed as a “serving “. Does everyone know what a serving of every food is??

Junk

I cannot cancel this. It’s junk. It doesn’t do those wonderful things that it shows it’s doing, it’s no better than a simple calorie counter – they’re free all over the place. I’m trying to get a refund. There’s absolutely no response. I think those five star ratings are a hoax

Don’t waste your money

I was interested in finding an app to assist in my journey to be a healthy eater but this is of no use. I didn’t read the reviews and signed up for SnapCal . After I downloaded it, I tested it with 5 pre made meals that I do know the macros and micros and SnapCal wasn’t even close to reality. After reading the reviews, it appears they are impossible to contact and as expected, very little chance of getting a refund.

Useless.

This ap worked good for less than a week. Now it won’t even open at all. It flashes when I try to open it then does nothing. Won’t even bring up a screen so I can’t even cancel the subscription. Deleted and reinstalled. Lost all my data. Worked for one day then says network error and won’t pick up anything. Don’t waste your money.

Waste of money

I never review anything but SnapCal has compelled me. I wanted to try it but SnapCal can not tell the precise amount of of food on the plate nor can it know what is exactly in the food so there is no way to give an accurate calorie count. In addition, it gets food wrong. Doesn’t recognize many foods. It’s honestly a waste of money and life written to complain but no one has gotten back. This apparently was created by an 18 year old and it shows. Stay away from this one.

Stopped accurately recording food

I have been using SnapCal for several months with no issues. However, several days ago, while scanning QR codes, the calorie count was 8-10 times higher than it should be. I turned my phone off hoping this would “reset” things but it continues to be incorrect. I do not want to manually input all my food correctly. I have contacted the company with no response. I would like my money refunded so I can try another app.

Entering Calories

You cannot enter less then a full serving of something. If calories are clearly wrong on a scan you cannot change them. It’s hard to enter items if they don’t scan or scan in improperly which is 95% of the time

Not Great

Use MyFitnessPal and you’ll be happier. Bigger library of foods, can also scan barcodes. The AI portion of SnapCal is so inconsistent. Scan same dish 3 times, get 3 different results.
It’s a good try, but just not there yet.

Inaccurate and difficult to edit

SnapCal would be so much better if there was an easier way to edit serving size. It is difficult to change the serving size or the type of measurements/units, which makes logging very time consuming. Often the calorie amount that SnapCal pulls up from the scan does not match the label of the item. There are other more accurate apps that are free.
