Tried a bunch of diet apps with AI, and honestly, this app Diet is the first one that actually feels solid. I’ve used MyFitnessPal and Cal AI before, but they didn’t do it for me. MyFitnessPal’s been around forever, but the UI looks like it’s stuck in 2013, and the premium version was a letdown—can’t even log meals with photos. Cal AI had some cool fast AI meal logging, but it feels half-baked, like there’s no real insight from the data.
this app Diet, though? This one’s different. It’s like chatting with an AI assistant. I can just snap a photo to log my meal, talk about what I ate, and even use voice input—which is a lifesaver because typing on my phone gets old fast. And the AI? Honestly, it’s impressive. It doesn’t just pick up on what food I’m eating but also tracks the calories and nutrients pretty accurately. A few weeks ago, it was more basic, but with the recent update, it’s a lot more detailed. If it messes up, you can just correct it, and it actually learns. Like one time, it thought my steamed fish was fried and overshot the calories, but I told it, and it adjusted right away. That kind of back-and-forth is exactly what I want from an AI app.
Only gripes? Sometimes the calorie count’s off if it doesn’t get the portion size right, and fixing it means having to ask the AI to make changes through chat, which can take a while—the response time’s a bit slow. Like, it can be 5-10 seconds just to process a simple edit, which is kind of annoying. They should definitely add an option to adjust portions manually, so I don’t have to wait on it every time.
All in all, I’m pumped about Fitnexa. Been telling my friends to give it a go, and I’m excited to see how they improve it in future updates.
