4.6 out of 5
game

The game is fun but it randomly takes my lives, i’ll start with 5 play two rounds and it says i’m out, very disappointing.

Don’t pay to play

I bought the ‘get rid of ads’ and all that happened was I spent $8 and still have to watch ads for everything. Infuriating! Might as well play the free game because paying doesn’t seem to remove any ads.

Non-stop ads even after paying for no ads

This game is fun if you like color sorting. However all fun stops after you get sick of the ads. So you say okay I’ll spend the $7.99 to stop ads. It clearly states that pop up ads and banner ads will stop. They did however there’s so many ads that are needed to play even after that. It doesn’t stop the ads that are on spaces that you need to have on the board to even progress after a certain level. While it is nice to always have an option to watch an ad instead of spending coins for a tool to help complete a level. It’s not okay that the board shrinks to a size and pattern that the ad spaces need to be used.

Don’t waste the money or time.

Waste of money

Even after paying 7.99 to not see ads every minute, the game becomes so difficult that you have to watch ads to “save” your loves or you’ll lose every game. This was a huge waste of money and isn’t enjoyable once they get your money. Sometimes the stacks disappear more quickly than other times. It seems like the game is rigged to make you keep watching ads.

Was a fun game and then the ads came in like an avalanche

And the ads do not even work right! I couldn’t exit out of them! So I would watch the ad, be stuck on the ad, then reset the game with no benefit whatsoever ever. I really liked this game, especially since the puzzles are challenging. But at some point, the ads were just too frequent, like several ads per round! It was infuriating having to close and open the game over and over again just to play a single level! I hope they fix these issues soon!

Broken

My game has suddenly just started crashing on me. I open PencilSort and it just crashes after less than 30 seconds. The ads are insane like every couple seconds.

Hate it.

The reviews are fake. I paid like 8 dollars for the game so I don’t have to watch an add every time a pass a level, but to complete the majority of the levels you have to watch adds. Don’t recommend it at all. It becomes veré boring.

It is geniunely appalling what has become acceptable in mobile games

Long ad when I want to open a message, long ad when I swipe down to check the time, long ad when I lose a level, long ad when I win a level. I truly can’t believe it.

The amount of ads make it unplayable

I get it, get your bag. But seriously, if I swipe out of PencilSort for 1/2 a second to check the time or my phone battery, does that really warrant an ad? Like fr I’ll get 5 ads before I can take a turn if I get a couple notifications in a row… absolutely ridiculous. Would love the game and would consider paying for no ads if they weren’t forcing it down your throat. deleting for sure.

Phone over heats

Game is fun in theory. But too many ads and the game makes your phone uncomfortably hot.

eats lives

i really enjoy the game itself, but it’ll use up 2-4 lives per single game sometimes, doesn’t make sense to me and i’m not sure why it happens, originally i thought i was just playing it a lot, but i spent 50 coins to refill my lives and after two games i was out

like many reviews have said, too many ads

i get that lots of apps use ads nowadays but in this particular game it gets to a certain point where the levels are dependent on ads to clear up space to continue the game. there’s levels where there’s literally not enough space unless you watch ads to open up the spaces and it’s very annoying when the game already shows you ads after each level anyways.

Ads are horrendous- sexually pervasive

As soon as I started playing the games, the ads that dropped in between each play session where sexually explicit and completely inappropriate. You should be ashamed to be promoting this!
Uninstalled immediately. FYI parents be warned!

your mama

fix your ad system. i don't know if anyone else deals with this but i sit through minute long ads just to not be able to exit out when i click the X, having to restart the whole app. unless this is a ploy to get people to buy the "no adds", please fix this

Life theft

It doesn’t matter if you buy lives or watch the adds they get stolen, I can only play 2 rounds and my 5 lives are suddenly at 0 and when you watch an add for 2 new lives it forces you to use one of them to restart the game you had previously lost so you only get 1 IF YOU'RE LUCKY and the game doesn’t take that one too. You can’t have this many adds AND be this dysfunctional!

not worth it

first few levels are fun but then immediately spike in difficulty and become reliant on luck. just another scam “puzzle” game

so sad

i really like the little doodles and the game itself but i’ve been stuck at a level for several days. The ads are endless. even when i get a pop up notification it’ll start an “ad break”. it’s nice it gives you two coins for each ad but it’s ridiculous. I love the game play but there comes a point where you become stuck at a level and are either forced to watch a bunch of ads for advances, pay for help, or quit all together. Guess it’s goodbye pencil sorting app.

Not worth it - Insane amount of ads

the ads on this game are so horrible it’s not even worth playing. the game will force you into situations where you either lose the game or lose all your hearts so you can watch ads. opening another app or even checking the time for two seconds will result in an ad. to use the power-ups since the game gone impossible to match pieces, you have to watch an ad. this game is entirely about watching ads and less on pencil sorting. DO NOT DOWNLOAD.

Poorly Deisgned

Game is fun and all but the levels and algorithm is just awful. Could be a skill issue but I spent over half a day trying to beat just one level. The ads are out of control and its not worth my time trying so hard to beat a single level when I could play the same game for less ads and easier gameplay.

WHY ARE YOU TAKING MY LIVES

man this game so fun but its TAKING MY LIVES i start with five i play two rounds and it says i have zero left. WHAT. please fix this :(

Not worth - low key aggravating

I deleted due to the crazy amount of adds. The amount of lives is annoying too. It’s a shame because it’s really fun but I feel like I spent more time watching adds then playing.

Entertaining but annoying

1. TOO MANY ADDS. You look away for 2 seconds and they try to force you to watch another add. It’s extremely annoying.
2. You steal the points. When I form multiple pencils there’s always 1 or 2 pencils that give no points. It’s unfair

THE ADS

I have to say after playing this for a few months and only getting to level 230 because of the ads. Some levels if you don’t have coins the game kinda “forces” you to watch ads so you can unlock a certain spot to place a tile or you’ll lose the round. Now the high levels this notion is much more common and restrictive. Most levels you gotta watch a ad to even win and the ads are 90 seconds so yea. And then almost after every round or 2 it forces you to watch a ad for only 2 coins as a reward lol. All in all if you don’t care for ads definitely get this game it’s fun but after getting to level 230 this may be the end of my time on PencilSort😀. too. many. ads. And the fact that it’s 90 seconds like that’s ridiculous

Ads

Game is fun but Warning: When selecting the “Free” option to watch ads to advance in the game the ads do not go back to the game (goes to black instead) once viewed. The only way to get out of the black screen is to close PencilSort entirely making the ability to advance in the game without spending money impossible.

Fun until it wasn’t

I was really enjoying it, the pictures in the beginning are super cute and funny. However, as I was starting to get into the 3 digit stages the pictures became weirdly sexualized where the boy pencils were making eyes and faces to the girl pencils who seemed oblivious. This made me very uncomfortable to the point it wasn’t fun anymore and I was just feeling gross every time I opened PencilSort . I ended up deleting it…

Ads Ads Ads

I think this game is so much fun! This review would easily be 5 stars except there's one big issue. The ads!!! There are constant ads and they are so long. The ads pop up all the time and then there are times you have to watch ads to unlock a crucial space in the game. The ads can take minutes to go away and you have to click as many as 7 times to get out of them. I wish they'd dial back the ads and I'd keep playing. Until then, I'm deleting PencilSort .

.

it keeps kicking me out every time theres an ad and it takes my lives so its barely even playable.

Paid for No Ads and still have ads

Paid $8 not to have any ads and there is still adds and they are long and annoying. Total bait and switch routine. Not impressed at all.

The game runs out of lives too quickly

The game runs out of lives too quickly. Then you’re required to wait however, long before your lives are restored. Very disappointing.

Limited lives & crazy ads

I’m iffy about the whole life thing. This game is kinda based on chance since you get different colors each time and sometimes you’d end up losing because of luck. If you’re going to have lives, maybe make the game less chance based and less difficult? Also ads come by so much, whenever I pull down on a notification or to check the time/battery. This game also drains battery like crazy and it looks like I’m not the only one.

Impossible to play without watching ads

Once you get to about level 23, there’s no possible way to play without watching like 6 ads per level. It’s a good game, and I like the connect and the drawing of the pictures. But the ads just make it so much more frustrating than enjoyable. I’m uninstalling it.

Good idea but I am confused.

What is the point of lives? Isn’t the intent to get the player to continue using your app? I don’t understand the point of driving players away by refusing the chance to play without paying.

DO NOT SPEND $ TO REMOVE ADS, NOTHING CHANGES!

The goal of this game is to make you watch ads. This game itself is really fun, but the length of ads makes the game a struggle. 1-2 minutes before starting a new level, after a purchase or using a booster makes ad-watching the primary focus of this game. Depending on the ad, the ad demo runs twice before the timer starts for ad ending. You can turn off WiFi to skip ads, but then none of the “free” items are available, you have pay for everything you need help with. To add insult to injury, paying for no ads has doesn’t stop them. How sad that a fun game is ruined by ad pirates! Winning a game levels you up, but only awards you five points and five coins, but to get just five more coins, you can WATCH ANOTHER AD! The stars in my rating only apply to the game itself. The ad length and frequency bring the rating down to zero.

Cute but crashes

I downloaded it for the funny pencil drawings, but I’m deleting it because it crashes 40% on ads. And there are too many ads, and too long! Sad.

A lot of ads

What makes this game hard to keep wanting to play is all. The. Ads. There’s some rounds that you honestly can’t pass if you don’t buy coins/watch 10 ads to get powerups. I understand you need to make money too, but are we maybe doing too much? Is it perhaps past the point of it being enjoyable for the player, which is the point of a game? If there were less ads and better wins of gold/powerup from gameplay, i could see myself playing it a lot more and for a long time to come.

Switching to Dream Hex

Switched over to Dream Hex. Basically the same game but less advertisements. And the algorithm seems a lot better. In pencil sort, the blocks somehow intentionally make you lose. I have to use special items or watch ads to win a lot of the levels. On Dream Hex, I think they base the colors given on what colors are on the board

ads are incessant

The gameplay on this is actually very fun and I paid to reduce the number of ads because the game was fun. Even with that reduction, though, there are still too many ads. Most of the game boards have 2-6 slots blocked by ads so you still have to watch ads to play the game fully. Each of those ads range from 10 seconds to over a minute, so there are levels where I have to watch 6 minutes of ads before I can play the game. If there was an option to pay slightly more and get rid of those ads, and have an open board every time, I would pay it because the game is fun, but the ads are too much, and they drain your battery.

Fun but Takes Lives

I enjoy the game but not only does it crash due the ads, but sometimes my lives deplete after two rounds when there are five. I thought I was playing too much at first, but then I started going back home and noticing I’d jump from 3 stars to 0. With the amount of ads and that glitch, it just gets annoying.

Don’t Spend to Remove Ads

I do enjoy the game enough to have the Ads removed because they were just too constant. I enjoyed the game for a few more levels however, in order to have more lives you have to watch Ads and in order to get free tile spaces in a level you have to watch Ads. Charging 7$ to remove Ads is honestly thievery especially if I still have to watch them after paying to remove them. Another issue I have is that there’s no possible way to get more of the abilities without having to pay for more. 5 lives is not enough especially if you’re trying to play the game for free. Lastly, the ads are wayyyy too long. I feel like I spend more times still watching ads or restarting a level than actually playing the game.

ads

game is pretty accurate to the ads and is fun. BUT reviews did not lie about the amount of ads… I accidentally click off PencilSort and immediately an ad and i swipe down to check what music im listening to, not even out of PencilSort and im greeted with an ad😭

Fun, but battery draining

I played this and a similar hexagon sorting game for the same amount of time today, and this game accounted for 40% of my battery usage, while the other only used 17%! I genuinely prefer this game, largely due to the aesthetic flat graphics and color choices, but that’s a ludicrous difference that I can’t reasonably account for.

The ads are a problem, as others have mentioned, but I also don’t really care for the secondary gallery coloring in aspect, I find it annoying and the drawings to be kinda…creepy.

Too Many Ads

I love playing this game, but the Ads are absolutely relentless. Before EVERY game, you have to watch an Ad. If you click out on PencilSort to check a text and go back to PencilSort , you get an Ad. It's annoying. Not to mention that you run out of lives far too quickly. It's a difficult game filled with too many ads. I like this game better than any other hexa sort game, but it's unplayable with this many ads.

Too many frequent ads

I love this game, it helps me calm down. However, I usually play this game without Wi-Fi so I don’t even have to deal with the ads because they’re so touchy. I swiped down to change the volume on my iPad and it takes me less than a second and the game gives me an ad. if I breathe, I get an ad. I hope at least the “leave PencilSort or hide the screen for one second, get an ad” aspect of PencilSort changes. It’s ridiculous.

Too many ads

I really like this game but having an ad break every 2 minutes is making me wanna delete. Not only that, but you also have to watch an ads for basic features like necessary tiles or boosts that you can barely get for free otherwise. I don’t mind ads but these are just too many. It’s a really fun game but I can’t deal with the ads anymore.

My iPhone is overheating while I play this

My iPhone is overheating while I play this

Ads Are An Issue, but I Really Want More Features

The game is fun, but ads are constant and annoying. They seem to set up to appear whenever you finish a round, whenever you pull down on a notification and when you briefly change to a different app. The only exceptions are when it hasn’t been a minute since you opened the game or since the last ad. What I want to be able to do in this game is play past the target amount of pencils collected. I get so immersed in the strategy of what to place where, that when the goal is reached, I get disappointed that I can’t keep going. You should add an unlimited/infinite mode, where you can see how long you last and how many pencils you can collect.

Bugs need fixed

This game has so many bugs. I’m on a level right now where I cant put anything on one tile space for no reason, it’s just blocked off. It randomly freezes, places tiles where I didn’t put them & on top of that the adds enemy 5 seconds is crazy, doing an ad break in the middle of the game is a little excessive.

Ads…

I seem to have the opposite problem as a different reviewer. In the game it has a button to free up cells if you watch an ad. Or to get more loves if you watch an ad. Or to keep playing…you guessed it…if you watch an ad.

The first time I played, these options worked. However, the last week, none of these options work. I don’t have any ads just play, but I also can’t watch one to help my game play.

The game is very fun and addicting, but please fix this!!

Cute but too many ads

Cute game, relaxing but too many ads. Would purchase the ad free version but it’s pretty pricy.

Great game and graphics but one small flaw

Great, simple, easy but still challenging enough game with great, simple graphics, and I don’t mind the ads bc I get extra coins from them. One tiny flaw: if I get one more pencil completed right after another, the score only increases once, making the second pencil not count! Please fix this! And then I can give this game 5 stars.

I just finished the game

I love this game and it never gets old however I just finished the entire game and I WANT MORE LEVELS!!!!!!

Rod

Good game but the adds are not good

Do not pay. Takes money for ad-free but later restricts play time.
