A step backwards

A step backwards from the old app. This new version is basically the same minimal app as the old one while somehow being slower, more clunky, and requiring more taps to do basic things like seeing your transactions and logging out. Wow. 👏👏

Brah how come get different phone numbers that’s not mine can’t even verify my account

Zelle not working

My Zelle on my old app wasn’t working I called to see how I can get it. They said that’s just the features because they’re dealing with a new app. Now I don’t have Zelle. It’s literally the only reason I have a BOH account.

I have tried to rely upon Bank of Hawaii for basic services, checking my account balance and trying to withdraw. I couldn’t even get that. I can’t access my bank account through their app (I know there has been an update, I have the new one, and it worked for all of a couple days until I really needed it) nothing but a blank screen with empty boxes and red explanation points. I stick my ATM card at their own banks machine and keep having issues with my card..for what??? You show all my info with valid funds on the screen and my bank app(when it was functional) you still tell me there’s a problem??! I missed saying goodbye to a loved one because you couldn’t allow me to access funds I had and couldn’t transfer to pay for my ride. Screw you guys I’ll be walking in to close my account this following week. I don’t understand why my cards frozen but totally working at the same time, and why you won’t allow me to sign into my account! I’m devastated and disappointed. Shame on you BOH

New App

Is anyone else having hard time logging into the new app? It’s giving me an error since I’ve tried to update it.

Downgrade, Missing Features

BankOfHawaii lives up to nothing you were promoting it to be. Not sure what aspect you folks think you improved on - still trying to find something ‘better’. Used to get notifications for every transaction on the old app, that doesn’t seem to be a feature on this one - and yes I went through all the settings in BankOfHawaii to make sure I did everything I could to fix this, no luck though. And this might be an overlooked / convenience feature but I enjoyed using the passcode feature to log-in on the old app. This ‘upgrade’ is a flop for me.

This is the worst app ever.

I use it on my phone it keeps getting stuck on the first page and not responding for 10 minutes or so, terrible experience!

Frustrating

BankOfHawaii is fine in the morning. In the evening, I tap on BankOfHawaii and it always asks me to log in all over again. I enter all my info again, then it doesn’t let me log in at all. But gives me no error messages. The next morning I’m able to log in with facial recognition as I do with other apps. Seems like BankOfHawaii managers do maintenance on the site at night. But it’s only 7 pm here in Hawaii, and I can’t use BankOfHawaii at this time of day. And it happens every day. So I shifted my business to other bank accounts that have functional apps.

Unsatisfactory

Bumped from old app to update new app and I am not unable to access my bank account as the contact number on file for verification doesn’t even match mine. I am getting the same experience both mobile and on laptop.
Customer service is only between 7-7. If you don’t live in the same time zone, its beyond frustrating! BOH should have at least 24-hours mobile support if they’re implementing a new app!

Various issues

Please allow option to NEVER enable Face ID, it is always defaulted to TURN ON, which I do not want. Please enable users to set default for Face ID to their preference.
Additionally this newest update may have added an automatic transfer that I NEVER set up, I also cannot edit or delete it. Will re-evaluate review if/when issues are fixed.

Not efficient!

Every log in needs username and password credentials even when you set it to “remember me” i also set it to face recognition and still wanted a password username. The first App was a lot simpler and efficient. How did you guys took a step back from efficiency? Please work on it to where its simple and effective. 1 star!

Ugh

Why did they have to get a whole new app? When they could’ve just upgraded the old app. Now I can’t even see my account balance.

New app doesn’t run on my iPad

I usually like to check all my accounts on my iPad Air 2 running iPadOS 15.8.3, which is up to date according to my settings. The new app doesn’t run on this device. Since installing it, I get an error message whenever I try to log in saying that it does not work “at this time.” At what time will it work? I can get in through the website and on my iPhone 8.

Bank of Hawaii customer service horrible in regards to mobile app switch

Switched to the new app today and got locked out of all my accounts won’t allow me to recover through new app or old app completely locked out of all online banking and now I have to schedule an appointment to go into the nearest branch and they most likely can’t help either. Terrific!

New BOH mobile app has bugs and feels like a downgrade.

After using the BOH mobile app for years, I am very disappointed in this new version. It’s AWFUL and barely useable. One example is that even though I enabled Touch ID, I still have to enter my password each time. I now have to signon to BOH via a browser to do anything that I used to do easily in the old version of the BOH mobile app.

Spooky

Never remembers Face ID and is always logging me out. Different regions have to be accessed in one app prompting constant signing in and out. Disappointing and sad. I’m looking forward to the much needed improvements hopefully sooner rather than later.

App malfunction

The new app doesn’t even download to my phone. You can click to “open” through BankOfHawaii Store, but it doesn’t show up as an app on your Home Screen.

The worst app

If I could put 0 stars on it, I would definitely do it,

I can't use it since I downloaded it days ago, nor the website. I can't enter since when selecting the region, it doesn't give me options to select!!

Many Issues

The previous version of BankOfHawaii worked much better. This version constantly has errors when I try to login so I can’t access my bank account. It has issues when I try to transfer money. It’s become a daily issue.

Miss the old app

Its alright
BankOfHawaii won’t let me enter my pin but it keeps asking me to enter my full password , which is a bit frustrating…just so it’ll be easy to just access just like the old one how the pin pad would pop up when u open the BOH APP and u can just put in your pin lol i definitely preferred that way because it was easier for me to get in and out of BankOfHawaii .

Everything else is the same easy to navigate, I like how it also tells u how much you’ve spent or keeps track of your spending etc

Difficult

For starters, I was not notified that my app was going to change so the last three days I was trying to get into my account and move money and I could not very unhappy. Finally, I went to the bank and they told me why my app was not working. They helped me fix my app but now I have to learn on the way to use BankOfHawaii , I have to deal with more than an account which makes it difficult when something new is thrown into the pot. It would be nice if you would notify your client when you do things like this before you do things like this otherwise you guys are great.

New app does not sync with quicken

The new app interface and functionality is improved.

However, BOH will not sync with quicken. Needs to be fixed asap.

Not Good.

Their transactions are posted several days late so you alway think you have more in your account than you actually do. This can (and often does) lead to overdraft fees, one after another. Their new app offers more options for money management, but currently it is super buggy and a lot of times simply won’t work or they bombard you with questions. I just want to check my balance.
On a positive note, I will say, that they are actually very polite and amenable and helpful when you go to a branch location in person. However, the online app is not so great.

Love the new look finally

I absolutely love the new look however I have a few suggestions. I would like the option to link third-party accounts. Like my mortgage and my other financial institution. Also, when conducting a transfer, I would like the option to leave a remark. I frequently transfer accounts and sometimes I transferred specific amount. It would be helpful to have the option to leave a remark in the transfer field.

The Upgrade

I just used BankOfHawaii upgrade for the first time and it seems a bit wonky compared to the previous version. Perhaps it’s muscle memory fighting, but at the moment it doesn’t seem as efficient.

Review of new App

Like anything new takes a few times to get used to it….unfortunately it still takes a week for a check to be delivered with Bill Pay online.

Just bells and whistles

Was hoping maybe they brought back the card less atm thing… but just ended up being mostly the same with a few tweaks. Just like when they renovated my local BOH branch and the outcome was only a bunch of movable cubicles to hide workers’ desks from the prying eyes of the public waiting to be called in the queu hahaha.

Not receiving notifications

Nice, but for some reason it doesn’t pop up notifications of my spendings/pulling out money. My notifications are even on too. Pls fix.

Encountering some glitches

I am encountering some glitches. I was unable to get back to the account page from the pdf page. Facial id failed to work. Hopefully these glitches will get corrected. I also liked being able to use a 4 digit code to sign in because facial recognition can be glitchy sometimes.

I really like the new functionality including the ability to pull funds from accounts I hold elsewhere.

This new BOH app is similar to the older version but has updates that have taken mobile banking to the next level. BankOfHawaii is very user friendly even if you are not Tech Savvy. I love banking with Bank of Hawai’i and you will too!
