Why fix something that’s not broken…

2024-08-03

After initially finding enjoyment in using SelfQuest, the recent update has changed my experience. Previously, I had progressed to a C rank while engaging with D class quests. However, following the update, SelfQuest now presents me with SS side quests without a clear goal in mind regarding main quests. This sudden shift in difficulty and scale feels disorienting, akin to wandering aimlessly through a dark, empty room. The drastic increase from completing 40 reps of any quest to suddenly facing 200 reps overnight seems counterintuitive to the gradual scaling I had anticipated. Even after creating a new account, the persistence of these challenging side quests raises questions about the underlying mechanics and scaling logic of SelfQuest .

Love the game, don’t like the new update

2024-08-04

This would be a 5 star review if the newest update didn’t happen, I liked how all the daily quests were in one section and there were difficulties so that you could work your way up, the game set the goal for you, but now you have to decide how many to do and there isn’t a set goal. Again no hate to the developers this is a well made game and these are just some of my ideas, Also the switch to tracking health app data instead of manually entering your runs is a good idea but there should be an option to turn it on or just keep manually entering the amount you ran because me personally I don’t like to hold my phone when I run or have it in my pocket and I don’t own an Apple Watch to track my runs while I’m on a treadmill, I would rather enter the amount I ran once I finish my run. Anyways my main point is I liked the daily quests difficulty settings and as your character got stronger you could unlock harder difficulties, I really wish you guys would bring this feature back!

Seems cool so far but there’s definitely room for improvement.

2024-08-30

There’s an issue with the run distance not saving and a few times when I opened SelfQuest all of my challenges were reset even though the time was not up.

Update: lowered my rating. There’s no way to schedule breaks you need to do the workout every single day. The only time working out the same muscles every single day is good is in anime your body needs to rest and recover. There needs to be a way to choose rest days or the penalty needs to be changed so that you do not lose level progression.

The new penalty should be adding extra to the next days workout it’s that simple.

Watch Ads Simulator

2024-06-29

Barely any progression can be made doing “workouts”. You get gear by watching ads. Each ad you watch gets you one key and to get the best gear you need 250 keys. To get a cool skin for your character you need 250 keys. I’ll just do push ups and squats on my own without watching 250 ads. Cool idea but the insane amount of ad watching required to make progress is SelfQuest’s downfall. I would’ve paid $5 for an app that actually wanted to help me get in shape and respected my time.

Doesn’t work

2024-06-20

I saw an ad for SelfQuest on tiktok and thought it looked really cool. The concept is unique and I think it could actually be really fun to track your workouts like this. But unfortunately SelfQuest doesn’t work. It’s just a empty prototype that doesn’t even let you advance past the log in screen. I would’ve given this a 1 star but I actually want the developer to work on this and make it a usable product.

Love the game, one major bug

2024-09-15

I’ve been playing this game for a while and it’s brought me back to working out. It’s been great and I’ve seen some genuine progress, but recently I took a 4 day break and saw that I went from level 30 to level 36. I was expecting to come back to a lower level due to the penalty, but I somehow gained 6 levels? Also for the side quest, the workouts already had the amount checked out, but not actually submitted so it’s not that big of a deal. I’d recommend checking that out as it would be unfair for my friends who are competing with me. Update: after writing this review I reopened SelfQuest and now it says I’m level 38

Has potential

2024-08-30

SelfQuest has the potential to be exactly what I was looking for. The connection to Strava no longer works - SelfQuest gives an error that says “ SelfQuest has exceeded the limit of connected athletes. If you are a developer of this application, please contact Strava developer support for how to request a quota increase.”

So SelfQuest has potential, but currently no way to pair with other fitness apps. It would be awesome if it could just access Apple health data, and connect to the Apple Watch too.

Currently it feels incomplete and not all features work. I’m very hopeful that these issues will be addressed and it will continue to be added to and improved in the near future. I’ve been looking for something like this for awhile now.

Cool Ideas

2024-06-13

Overall interesting concept but for me personally there’s too much going on at once. It’s not for me but i can see why others may like it.

Great game idea

2024-06-20

I love the fact that there is a game being made based off of Solo Leveling, but there remains to be kinks left to be worked out on the game.

I was most excited about being able to connect my Strava account, but that feature doesn’t seem to work with google accounts. I also wish there was a bit more direction or like a simple tutorial when you first start.

Excited to see where it goes

2024-07-27

I found SelfQuest through a TikTok video and I really like it so far. Would love if the dev added some more functionality to the custom quests page. I would love to make some recurring quests reminding me of daily chores or something like that.

Otherwise I think I would appreciate the ability to edit custom quests/timers once they’re saved.

Cool concept but not apple health integration

2024-08-02

Great concept that me and my friends got into but would like to play dungeons with them as well as connect to apple health since I have a Apple Watch. Also the back button on the dungeon is hidden. I also have not found a use for gold, or stats like int. Agility, perception, etc. to have a impact. Maybe some info on that would be good

I’d also throw a few bucks to the game if it had no adds for keys

Look forward to updates

2024-08-02

Super sick concept! I’m a huge solo leveling fan. I’ve been lifting for seven years now so it’s fun to see progression in a video game form. I hope to see a more complex leveling system at some point. I can squat 400+ pounds, so being able to put things like maxes and run times and have them give more XP based on difficulty would make it so much more fun. For example, If I do 20 squats with 135lbs on my back, it should give more XP than doing 20 body weight squats. It would push people to run faster and lift more weight. Love the idea and hope to see the game grow!

Love this app but a few problems

2024-10-04

Absolutely love SelfQuest and it’s helped me start forming some good habits! The only reason it’s not a five star review is that there are some glitches I’ve been running into, such as the daily quests not resetting properly. The boxes remain checked and cannot be unchecked or reset, but it says I still haven’t competed the daily task resulting in a punishment. The only way to solve it is to delete SelfQuest and redownload, which deletes all your custom quests. If this issue gets fixed easily a five star rating!

No use for gold or MP?

2024-07-27

I’ve been really enjoying SelfQuest so far. It is a really fun way to keep myself active and wanting to hit my goals to level my character.
I have been collecting a fair bit of gold though and the shop currently only accepts keys as currency for better rewards.

I have only done one dungeon and have not tried any gates so I cannot say if there are uses for gold in those but the one place I would think you could use gold doesn’t seem to accept it.

I’ve also noticed that during my one dungeon I didn’t get any option to use my MP. This could just be because I was too low a level but would love to hear where that is used.

Good app

2024-06-15

SelfQuest is fairly new and it’s pretty good. There are some bugs like the ads to get keys not working and the challenge system not working, but besides that, everything works well and I recommend SelfQuest .

Amazing; but..

2024-06-29

All in all, amazing app, my personal problem is that I can’t connected to the STRAVA system since I don’t own a FITBIT. All respect that SelfQuest is amazing, the personal issue is simply that it requires to connect so one can defeat monsters by tracking movement, I can’t connect to STRAVA via SelfQuest and support within SelfQuest doesn’t truly work (I think) worth the download tho

Equipment Icons

2024-06-29

I love the idea for SelfQuest but it could use a little clean up with the character attention to detail with items received not being the appropriate type of equipment.

I’ve gotten “gloves” that showed up as a suit of armor and a “Ring” that was a shield and unfortunately there’s no representation of the items on your character.

Looking forward to implements.

Great but a bit empty

2024-06-15

Great game that definitely motivates me but there are just a couple issues. The game seems a bit empty and all the side quests are just smaller versions of the main quest. Also I have a bunch of gold but the shop only lets me spend “keys” and there’s no way to actually use my gold.

Love it

2024-06-15

It definitely needs some work but hopefully as it gets more popular it will continue to grow. Finally got me to workout haha

Bug

2024-06-20

Since yalls email doesn’t work for some reason I’ll report the bug on here. When you do side quests and complete them the count doesn’t reset when they come back later. So a new quest will say 20/20 even tho I haven’t done anything yet. Great game and a cool idea. 4 stars for your email not being good tho.

Amazing game play!!

2024-10-04

I’ve been here since the launch of SelfQuest and while it did have a slow start it has taken off and it is so amazing!! Now it connect to Apple Watches so it tracks things for you. This has really helped me because I don’t have much time to go to the gym, and I lack motivation to work out. Making it like a game tricks my ADHD and it helps so much. If you’re a little nerdy, love games, and need a little bump in your step to get you going on your workout journey this is the perfect games/workout app for you!!

Daily leaderboard for friends

2024-08-30

First off love SelfQuest I just got my friends and some of my family to download It. SelfQuest has so much potential. I would LOVE to see like a daily leaderboard board in addition to the level leaderboard. It could show out of all your friends who has the most steps that day and who has the most push-ups, sit-ups etc. The if you have the most steps you get a title same with the other ones it could be like who has the most steps over a month before you get the badge or title for just your friends. I would also LOVE to see a Title that’s very very hard to earn like you should have to get push up supreme being, sit up supreme being, run supreme being, squat supreme being and some other challenge. I think it would be really cool to see as like another goal to reach. The title would show that you have put a lot of time and worked really hard for it.

LOVE IT but have some suggestions

2024-08-26

You should consider adding a rest day mechanic because yes, it’s a solo leveling type thing but humans need rest the same amount they need exercise. Apps like this can make humans break their limits and unlike in anime, humans will break themselves when they break through their limits.

Both as an improvement and a safety/health measure, rest days should be a mechanic for growth without having the penalty.

Potential for a real experience

2024-08-26

Great UI, and interesting concept.

I am mainly writing a review for the devs to change some things.

1: Attacking in the dungeon is very 50/50 and bland tbf you do the exercise and it will hit the boss. Do it again the attack misses, do it once more and it will hit. The attacks follow a hit/dodge/hit/dodge/hit concept, maybe mixing it up? Or is it just because I just downloaded SelfQuest (granted only lvl 4).

2: In the character screen, add a small X in the top when clicking on equipment etc… (this is just for comfortably exiting out of the screen)

And lastly I don’t mind or care but your ad button does not work, when trying to reset a dungeon it will refuse to watch said add to reset it 🤷🏼‍♂️ just some things.

Overall great and interactive and I love the style

Instant Motivation

2024-08-26

Everything is amazing, but I have a few concerns. Sometimes the ads don’t want to play when you attempt to watch one for a key. I’d also love to see a guild system on top of the friend system. I wish there was a better menu for the friend system as both of you have to add each other when I feel like it should be one person sending a request and the other accepting.

I love the app.

2024-10-04

I love the way SelfQuest is structured and made. It’s motivating and genuinely fun. I do have some issues with it though. I am not a physically fit person. It is almost impossible for me to do the starting quest everyday. I think there should be an optional F tier or “starting zone” for people who can’t just get up and do that stuff. I think it would be a bit more inclusive that way. I know to some people 20 push-ups is nothing but to others that’s like a weeks worth or workout. I also recommend that the main daily quest be different everyday. I’ve only been on it for two days so if it dose change sorry I haven’t see that yet. I do feel that changing it every day gives people the option to tarted different muscle groups a bit better. I love SelfQuest though and thank you for having it out there for free. You’ve done amazing work.

Best self-help app

2024-08-26

SelfQuest is amazing and actually motivate you to keep on going. And one of the unique things that I like is that it’s free and you can also compete with your friends and fight each other as well. But the daily run isn’t tracking itself, so can you put it back to where tracks its self on the map or to where you can manually put it in because I’m losing out on my daily run every day.

#litness

2024-08-26

So I’ve had SelfQuest for a few days now and I genuinely enjoy it. Yes it is not the most amazing and it still has a long long longggggg way to go before saying it is fully done. But for an app that is for fitness and for anime nerds like us then it’s amazing. I’m giving it a 5 for a game that isn’t fully done but is still amazing! If it was a fully finished game I would’ve given it a 4. Don’t forget to keep in mind it is not fully finished yet, have faith for SelfQuest !!!

Really pushing myself to be the best

Love the game a little glitchy

2024-08-26

It’s a super fun game mixing a dungeon style quest game with exercise. It can be a little glitchy at times and slow to load. My favorite part is that there’s no micro transactions, so I don’t feel like I would fall behind someone who’s paying to win. I like that there’s not only exercise related quests as well, like meditation and studying. I can’t wait to see what more exercises they add or if I just haven’t unlocked them. I also am curious if there will ever be stretches.

Love it, but…

2024-10-04

This is such a great app, honestly. I’ve been kept busy with all the quests and battles that I can do in SelfQuest. However, I do have a complaint. I watched 100 ads to be able to purchase a SS tier piece of equipment, but when I went to purchase it, my keys disappeared and the game told me I had no keys. The game refused to give me my equipment that I purchased, and now I have 0 keys and a wasted hour of my time. If you are reading this, Kirkam, please help. I am JethanTheCobbler, if there is any way for you to rectify this error.

App

2024-06-15

This makes working out so much easier cause u get to see ur progress not only in yourself but ur character. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for SelfQuest

Life changing

2024-08-26

I am a 30 year old dad of 4 and I’ve let myself go these past 5 years. I saw the viral tiktok and a spark went off in me. I hold myself accountable. I’m 24 hours in and I’ve done like a thousand push ups and sit ups, it’s rekindled my passion for fitness by appealing to me with my other passion—gaming and anime. Exactly what I needed, to any solo leveling fans or gamers out there SelfQuest has so much potential. You won’t regret the download. Only complaint is the discord community is a little toxic but it’s all fun. 😂

This has potential is future updates are done right

2024-08-30

I love this and i hope it gets bigger throughout its lifespan but i would love to see a worldwide leaderboard, competition, co-op dungeon with friends, Integrate ai so it tracks how many works outs you did and make you work for the achievements (example if u did only 10 push ups, it should make you do 15 or 20 etc etc) and have it do math to convert that into your daily or side quest. Maybe a world boss where people can work together for a month str8 to defeat the boss and base on your level it gives out rewards thats = or higher from your level. The devs have options and hopefully they can get more trackers and stuff integrated in SelfQuest. Shoo if this gets bigger add a nutrient goal as well and have it grab info from myfitnesspall lose it etc. I wish you guys best of luck and i hope this becomes bigger.

Love the Concept, but experiencing issues

2024-08-30

So I just downloaded SelfQuest a couple days ago and being a fan of solo leveling I love the design and concept of SelfQuest overall. However, after being excited to get started and doing so, I noticed that after the timer went out and the daily quest was supposed to finish alongside the side quests given on that day that nothing updated and I received no upgrades or rewards for the tasks I completed. I also tried logging into strava, but was met with an error screen and saying that it wouldn’t connect. Furthermore, I tried to reset the side quests and chose the option to watch an ad to do so and … nothing happened. Like I said despite all of these issues I have high hopes for SelfQuest but fear if these things aren’t fixed then I’ll be forced to delete SelfQuest .

Good

2024-06-15

Good app still new but just some ideas for the dev. Make ads functional and more ways to get drops. Leaderboard of all players. Pvp. And some type of subscription to fund getting sone extra devs on the project. Would def pay a subscription

Great game Just reporting a lil issue

2024-06-15

I love the game and will continue to use SelfQuest its just running a little slow and I was wondering if that was a connection issue or an issue with the server. Just trying to help you out.

Good app just doesnt like to load

2024-06-15

It’s understandable since it came out recently but it doesnt load at times and just says handshake error

Good fitness app

2024-06-15

Found a video on TikTok promoting this, and I got to say this one is pretty fun. Most fitness apps are boring after a while but this one makes you feel like your playing a video in real life. Good inspiration from solo leveling.

Absolutely Download

2024-06-15

Love the idea, hopefully there is plenty of content to keep doing this for a long time. Needs a higher athlete limit for Strava, currently it’s maxed out and I can’t connect.

The greatest app on my phone

2024-08-30

Man where do I start. I feel like SelfQuest was made for me. As a heavy gamer who has always wanted to better my body, I’ve never found anything to trick my brain into having fun while doing push ups before. Please don’t give up on this thing. It’s such a cool and fun concept that actually has real world impact. The developer is a genius for this. I’ve got my friends and family into it and though they aren’t as big into games, even they think it’s awesome both conceptually and in practice. Can’t believe it took until 2024, but man you have all my gratitude and praise.

Awesome way to stay motivated

2024-06-15

As the title says ur working on ur self and i think it is an awesome idea for gamers to get on the move just waiting to see when it can connect with my apple watch

James plz and thank you

2024-08-30

PLZ READ 👏
As many other do i see lots of potential i just hope that you keep up the work and im willing to support it.
-If you fix all the bugs which im sure you will i would suggest improving the reward system so that it is more complex and rewarding to pull in more players.
-Another thing is adding the ability to compete with other players other than your friends to boost everyone’s competitiveness with each other.
-I personally would love to see this become a global phenomenon, and it’s always good to take tips in other apps with success like doulingo with (amazing reward system) and (leaderboard system) which is an amazing concept that pushes others to surpass their competitors.

Awesome game

2024-06-15

Love how the game makes tasks into adventures and goals. It is not overwhelming but provides me with small goals that add strength to my character. Can not wait to see the future of the fitness app.

Arise

2024-06-15

Just started and I’m enjoying it! Can’t wait for future updates and to see where this project goes.

Fitness Gamified

2024-06-12

As someone that’s to getting into fitness and loves the Solo Leveling anime this is definitely a great app and I’ve recommended it to multiple of my friends

So Far So Good!

2024-08-04

I love SelfQuest so far! It’s so rewarding and I love that we are able to add friends on it!! I also love how you don’t have to pay for a membership or anything, I do watch the ads for the keys which I don’t mind at all because it’s by choice! This has soooo much potential!! Please keep updating and adding new things, maybe even a pet? Hehe, anyways keep up the good work and I highly recommend SelfQuest!!

Love it

2024-08-04

Honestly, I liked the old version a lot and maybe more, but at the same time, the new version allows me to put in how many reps I’ve done, although, with the old version tracking my run, I’m not sure if the new version does the same. Again, I’m still getting used to the latest version, but SelfQuest is incredible in all aspects

Love the gamification

2024-06-12

The community around SelfQuest is great! Super supportive, the developer engages and listens to feedback. It actually makes me achieve my fitness goals 11/10 🚀❤️

Great app fr

2024-08-04

yeah just a all around guns me great app to help get a little work out in. My one friend put me on to SelfQuest and we’ve been adding out other friends on it too and just a fun little fitness game for my friends and i to keep healthy, and also with the updates to keep it getting better so i can’t wait for that too

Awesome

2024-06-12

It kept me in check with my goals

Good game

2024-06-12

Really nice game

Love it, features needed though.

2024-09-12

As someone with ADHD, it’s been really easy to be consistent with the daily quests, side quests, and dungeons. I’ve used it for about a week, completing almost every quest while also going to the gym. One issue though - I’m level 12 and for some reason I’m already a C rank. I’ve only beat the first 8 dungeons and it seems too easy to get my letter rank higher. Is there any way to make it a little harder for your letter grade to increase?

Solo leveling

2024-06-13

This game has been so great with me and my fiancé we will definitely have it for a long time with how motivating it makes you

Best fitness RPG out there!

2024-06-13

The title says it all, its amazing and fun. Not to mention it keeps me motivated. Definitely keeps me moving and i get to slay through a couple dungeons on the way!

I found a bug

2024-10-04

I love SelfQuest, I really do, but I’ve been using it for around a month now, and strangely, it’s let me complete the 4 main parts of the daily quest, but hasn’t let me check off the fifth box, even though I’ve completed everything, I’ve tried resetting my phone, I’ve tried un-installing and reinstalling SelfQuest , it hasn’t worked, so maybe, just a suggestion, could you remove that last box and make it so when the daily quest workout is done, it will automatically reward you Wyeth the key instead of having to check off the last box

Online👀👀

2024-06-15

I think I would like the option to see other people’s stats, not just my friends. If that’s not possible, then maybe make a discord so I can share my ID and see other people stats or something.? All in all awesome idea. Can’t wait to try SelfQuest!

Leaderboard revamp

2024-10-04

I would like for you guys to do a weekly leaderboard based on region. Break it up anyway you see it to have more engagement, possibly team up with other apps like Duolingo for daily language practice as an example. Do leagues to keep it competitive as people love competition. The region could be broken up by distance, like the best in a city then state then country and finally global rankings. Then getting a marketing team for investors and publicity cause people already workout/learn/ do activities you guys just digitize their life and let them compete with the whole world. SelfQuest has so much potential and this is just what I would do to get more people on board

Great so far

2024-06-15

The game seems fun as of now. at the starting level, the workouts are easy and the rewards system is fun. however i’d like more ways to get gear. I also noticed watching ads for keys doesn’t seem to work. If SelfQuest gets consistent and good updates, and can expand their workouts, the game will be amazing.

The first time I’ve liked a workout game

2024-10-04

as soon as i opened up SelfQuest I realized i would like it, it’s simple and easy to follow if u spend 3-5 mins just looking around, you're able to “play” with ur friends by adding them and you can set custom quests so you don’t have to just follow what the game says, ur also able to upgrade ur character/you at the same time which i find really fun, also if u don’t finish ur quest you get punished, also ur able to keep going in the game and fight monsters by doing pushups and stuff, ur able to keep growing and it’s a fun thing if u want to get fit and like games, it’s also the first time I’ve seen a game/workout app that’s this well made.

🔥

2024-06-29

Awesome way of tracking your fitness and making it fun. Wish there was a way to show your fitness progress in a competitive way like through a leader board. Also maybe showing proof that you actually did the quest. I feel like some people might cheat their way past the quest.

Genius

2024-06-29

I really enjoy the style of this and think it’s awesome.

However, I do think there are some valence things that could be worked out as it developed further. Such as battles being, free or cheap workout wise. But I really love the concept and the game, it’s given me tons of motivation and is a really unique and awesome concept.
