The best there is, period.

If you are reading this review and have been binge-searching MyLifeOrganized3 Store or wherever to find the perfect one (like I used to do), then your wait is over. Download MyLifeOrganized3 immediately and give it an honest attempt. I promise you, this one is different. In this user’s opinion, this is the pinnacle of the GTD or personal task management platform. I am relieved to finally stop the incessant search for a platform that allows complete control of data/inputs. Although the iOS app is great and fully functional on its own, I highly recommend pairing it with the desktop client. Using both (and the cloud sync service), MLO checked all the boxes I was looking for in a personal task manager (cross platform b/w Windows and iOS being one). It’s possible that one would think that there’s a steep learning curve in setting yourself up in the software, but I feel like anyone who gets to that point might also sense the boundless potential before them. PS - The MLO google group is awesome! The users post some really great templates and other little tweaks and add-on content. Also a wealth of troubleshooting advice of course.

I was lost without it

The combination of MLO Windows, iPad, iPhone, and MLO Cloud keeps me organized and on top of my life more than anything else I've ever used. MLO is for people who are willing to invest time to organize the details of their life. It is not for people who just need to remember the milk. You can use Getting Things Done or any other methodology you like. It's that powerful. You can create hierarchies for each area in your life (i.e. work, home, family, personal...), assign contexts, and a ton of other details to each task (or not.. you don't have to use all the features), display a current actions list which shows you only what needs to be done now, create custom views... the list is endless. I use the desktop version for serious organizing, weekly reviewing, etc. I use the mobile versions for staying on top of today's tasks. The mobile versions lag a bit in features but Andrey is constantly improving them. I can't recommend MLO highly enough.

One of the best! + UPDATE

The easiest app I’ve ever used for keeping track of projects large and small. I used to use the apps Paperless and it’s successor Ikiru, and found the process of building and managing multiple lists very cumbersome. MyLifeOrganized3 solved all that. I just have one complaint: PLEASE, hurry up and release a Mac version for desktop use!

UPDATE: ok - you’ve asked me to write an update, so here it is. I’ve removed one star. Why? We’re still waiting for the Mac version you’ve been promising for the past several years. The workaround you suggest of using a monthly subscription in order to have synchronization across Mac devices (the PC version of MyLifeOrganized3 doesn’t require this), is still buggy — I continued to lose many items, and they do not show up in a search as you’ve suggested. So I’m back to using this on just the one device - my iPhone. But the full functionality of your app is simply not designed to be utilized efficiently or comfortably on such a small screen!

So, please, please, please get your Mac version out there - then I’ll give you your star back — and maybe even the full five…..

most versatile and complete task manager

I tried many task managers and found MLO to be the most versatile and complete task manager around. The following are a few of the things I like the most about MLO (Pro version): dependencies (you can set a task dependent on another and that task then won’t show up in your active task list until the parent task has been completed), statistics, integration with calendars, the overall clean look and ease of entering a task, being able to email tasks to the inbox with Cloud sync, progress bars for projects, lots of options to customize. The developers also have a very nice website with lots of support options and they keep on improving MyLifeOrganized3 . The only thing I don’t like is that reoccurrences are not fully developed in the iOS version. The most used settings for reoccurrences can be set in the iOS version. But to take full advantage of it you must use the desktop version (which I also own). And for anyone who wonders, yes, the desktop version is awesome, too.

Great for work and home tasks

I ran with the free version until the trial for the pro ran out, then purchased the pro. But I knew from day one I was going to purchase the pro anyways.

It’s such an intuitive user interface, very easy to use. Haven’t noticed any bugs or frustrations with it. I love all the options it allows for tasks as well. Create folders and then tasks within the folders and sub tasks with in the tasks. View your tasks in calendar mode. Create separate profiles. I have a personal one for groceries, chores, etc. and then I have another profile set up for my online sewing business. I use it to track inventory, orders, and projects to stay on task.

The flow is seamless as far as my use for it. Spacebar to create a sub task, backspace to make another parent level task. Place efforts, time needed, due dates, etc.

I currently have nothing bad to say about MyLifeOrganized3. I wish my real “daytime” IT departmental job used this instead of the one we currently use, Thats how much I like it. I tried ten different tasking apps and this one takes the cake.

Do yourself a favor. Try the free trial. Then you’ll be hooked.

Project Management and Ongoing Review

I have played around with a number of to-do lists, project management apps, calendars, habit trackers, and daily planners. My Speech Language Pathologist who works with brain injury patients has been helping me with these activities and finding apps that will help me.

The one app I used to use for major projects while I was working is no longer supported, so I would have to buy a new version. Urgh! Since this one had a free preview, I decided to try it along with the others I downloaded. This one is by far the most comprehensive and is easy on the eyes. It is complex, and for my purposes, I really need the capability to sync across my iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch 2 to fully utilize and evaluate MyLifeOrganized3 . I am applying to have the free month cloud service to see if MyLifeOrganized3 will really work for my scrambled brain.

I plan on updating this review once I try out the sync features.

MLO is the best task organizer

MLO does what it promises: it gives you an effective tool to organize the things you need to do. A great feature is the ability to sync between multiple devices. This means no matter where I am I can keep my task list up to date. No more little postits scattered in multiple sites. The programs can be easily learned and yet has a lot of depth to be mastered over time. I have used for quite a few years and highly recommend.

UPDATE: Still the best. Helps me het the things done I need to (and not go on rabbit trails). Many useful functions. Because it syncs in the cloud it is do easy to keep up to date wherever I am and on multiple devices.

MLO is for serious GTDoers (and others too)

I haven't yet found a project/task/time management need MyLifeOrganized3 can't be used to facilitate. Works elegantly with a variety of methodologies. Synchronization with the superlative desktop software is seamless. After extensive research MLO came out on top as the most robust platform for Windows/iOS. On the desktop side I was able to import several thousand tasks from my previous decade-old tool. Icing on the cake for me is the PocketMod feature (Windows desktop) that let's me create folded paper booklets with selected tasks, projects, whatever! So many powerful options while keeping the fundamentals easy and accessible. Nice work!

Beware it is lacking a proper Apple Watch app and bad reminding and notification system

I have brought the PC app and I love it. I also brought iOS app as a complimentary app to my pc software. But I have found MyLifeOrganized3 to not work properly with Apple Watch which doesn’t remind me most of the time about my task despite setting up reminders and sync has its own issues. The iPhone notifications are a hit or miss. This is an expensive app to buy but it has given me a very bad experience. I have had MyLifeOrganized3 for years I completely stopped using it due its bad notifications and reminders system. It is wonderful on desktop but has a very bad IOS and apple Watch apps.I mainly brought it for use when I am away from computers . MyLifeOrganized3 has disappointed me on multiple occasions and has lead to miss out on important stuff

Great Organisation

MyLifeOrganized3 is very well thought out. It’s very deep but everything is logical and nothing seems redundant.

The basic kishkes of it is the hierarchy which is extremely logical and doesn’t limit it you in how to arrange folders, project, tasks etc. This also means that you should have an idea of how you want to use it because it’s so powerful and doesn’t really push you into using it in any specific way as many other apps do (which may be better if you just want to make some basic flat lists.)

I actually recommend starting on the free version because you can become familiar with the basic functions before you have all the unlimited options. In fact, I once recommended the developer to develop a lite version (without even seeing the extra options in MyLifeOrganized3 ) for a lower price as it may appeal to many people who want fewer options but still the great hierarchy system which I don’t think I’ve seen in any other app.

Thanks for a great app! Keep up the good work!

Nothing else even comes close

***Update 2018 - I now have an Apple Watch and use MLO on there as well. I’d be lost without this program! ***
I've been using MLO since 2006 - on my computers, PDAs, smartphones, iPhone....
If you're new to MLO and find it a bit overwhelming as a phone app - I highly recommend having the desktop version for the initial setup of your thousands of things. I do the main organizing there and sync to my phone for daily execution of tasks and to add a quick task or two.
I've tried a bunch of other programs, but they were always lacking some feature that MLO has.
(I call it MyLO instead of M.L.O. because it is like my personal assistant.) Every aspect of my life is in this program.
My PDA, phone, and tablet purchases have all been made based on their ability to run MLO. (Please make a Windows app version for my tablet).
This is my one must have program for which there is no substitute.
There's a great user forum and the support over the years has been awesome!

Great Tool for Getting Things Done

I was a Omni fan through and through until I was forced to use a PC at work. I was in search for a comparable tool that was cross platform and I finally found MLO. The tool is so flexible and can replicate what I was doing with Omni - no other tool I’ve used was able to compare. It has the flexibility to follow my workflow instead of having to alter my workflow to match the tool.

The one difficulty I have, since the tool is so capable, it has so much nuances and features, sometimes it’s hard to unearth them. There is a manual (100s of pages!) but I wish some things were a little more straight forward, or were easier to implement.

Great productivity tool

I spent weeks with free trials of different GTD-compatible programs and apps, trying to find the perfect one for the way I work. I even have a spreadsheet for all the features (weighted based on their importance, utility, and how well they were implemented in each program).

The result of all my analysis? For a user who’s looking for a solution that can sync between iOS and a Windows (or Windows-friendly web-based) environment, MLO is head and shoulders above the competition.

There are a few less-than-intuitive things that keep me from giving a full five stars, but active development and openness to user feedback on the part of MLO’s devs is a very positive sign.

Great app and desktop program

Update: The last update has a calendar sync function! I don’t think there is a better task management app out there!

The free trial of the iPhone app, desktop version, and device sync hooked me and I eventually bought versions for my cell and desktop. My biggest wish is a calendar view to see tasks that fall on different days in one week. One small thing that I find annoying is that I cannot update the due date quickly. I have to click deeper into the task to do so. Overall a lot of functionality!

Love the iPhone version, buuut windows version is clunky/unintuitive

I tried out the windows desktop version and was initially unimpressed since its pretty complicated and, visually, not all that pretty.

HOWEVER, I recently tried out the iPhone version of MyLifeOrganized3 and love it! It allows me to set priority level and urgency level for each of my tasks (an important distinction!!) and allows you to indicate due date(&time), time allotted, etc! This is obviously a very powerful platform. As a previous OmniFocus user who uses an iPhone, Apple Watch, and PC, I’m really excited that this program has the potential to sync across all these devices.

The only issue is, the free trial does not include cloud sync among devices, so I haven’t been able to test this out. And I won’t be paying $60 for the non-trial version or cloudsync until I am able to test this out.

I’m glad to see that if you review MyLifeOrganized3, they currently give you a month of CloudSync free. This is my initial review, so I’ll update this post once I try the cloudsync out. :)

Great use of limited screen real estate

You can get to just about every feature in a few steps. I use desktop pro, iPad pro and iPhone pro versions to make sure I have a capture device all of the time.
In version 3, the screen real estate looks cleaner, and your eyes are drawn to the important things.

It’s good to understand that MLO is a wonderful tool for applying the theory of GTD. GTD is really a scheme for managing related lists of projects and tasks. Version 3 of MLO gives you a clean interface for applying GTD.

Best Task Mgmt Product / Steep Pro Price

I've used most of the IOS task apps. MLO is the most robust and effective mobile task management solution. Excellent categorical and indexing features. Tagging, Project and goal based functions all work together seamlessly and effectively.

The Professional price is too steep for the home user, but the features are very useful. If it were possible to get the pro features at ~5 that did not include some more of the business features, e.g. Syncing with teams, work session, workflows, automation, etc (then have different business license). I would purchase it (and I expect many others would too). Only reason it's not 5 stars.

MLO 3 Has it ALL!

Having managed many projects as a professional and juggling tasks within projects is just the way I think. Until now, I've never seen an iOS app that takes professional PM features and wraps it in a VERY nice package such that you can create multiple projects with sub-tasks, then filter/sort/view whatever you want simply to arrange your day! There are so many features yet they're not difficult to use. I'm so happy others think like me and created this incredible app! Thank you!!!

By

All the features, but not too complicated

I like the fact that there are many ways to identify each task, such as flags, contacts, and hierarchy within projects. Then you can create custom views to capture just those items you want to view at a particular time. You can choose to set reminder dates, or dates for review, to keep important things on your radar.

I use the notes field to document my actions to date on a particular task. So, you can go deep if you want to with MyLifeOrganized3, or just use it for simple lists at a high-level. It does either one equally well.

First thoughts

Just beginning to evaluate the iOS versions of MLO and, so far, am very impressed. I’ve been searching for task manager with most of the features of OmniFocus - which I’ve been using for years - but easier to use. Although there is not YET (hint, hint) a Mac desktop version, I’m very encouraged with the attention to detail in the iPad version as I enter my current projects and tasks. Once all are entered, I’ll update through my iPhone and Cloud sync (if the free trial comes through).

Thanks for the free trials and what appears to be a well thought-out design for a GTD app to keep me on-track!

Best Task Manager

I’ve tried many different project & task management apps over the years and could never seem to find one that truly worked for me. Either they were too simplistic, overly complex, or simply illogical. Then I found MLO. It has everything I’ve ever wanted in a task manager.

One of the most helpful features is that it allows you to break larger projects down into smaller projects, which almost all other task management software is missing. Some of the other helpful features include folders, syncing between devices, having different notification types, and the ability to create custom views with the exact details you need. Most of all, it matches my logic and workflow - which was missing in all the other task management apps. I’d like to add that the pricing is very fair as well. There are no ridiculous monthly fees or commitments. Just a one-off fee for MyLifeOrganized3 (s) you need and a modest fee for syncing your data between devices. That’s it.

If you’re looking for a project/task management app that gives you a lot of control and versatility, I highly recommend giving MLO a shot.

Love to organize...and this is digital!!

My IT guy turned me on to MyLifeOrganized3 as a gift and I cannot love on it enough! I was all about To Do Lists, but hated paper. Wanted to go 100% digital, but no digital To Do List worked like my brain...master task with multiple smaller tasks in priority order, for example. Once I was introduced to MLO, I literally LOST my Mother’s Day weekend setting up just my work life list! I now have work life and personal life lists set up and MyLifeOrganized3 sits prominently on my home screen (no burying MyLifeOrganized3 in a folder!!). I recommend MyLifeOrganized3 to everyone!

Peace,
Sarah
