Ridiculous start up

2024-03-30

It asks around 40 to 50 questions on start up, then it asks for money before you can even test Eato . There is a trial period, but no thanks. There are plenty of other calorie tracking apps with free options so you can try out Eato .

AI didn’t work and no 7-days trial

2024-05-06

App’s AI didn’t work at all, it can’t correctly consider foods. I was scanning just simple breakfast, and app thought that mozzarella cheese is humus. Totally different products where humus has more fat % while Mozzarella is more about protein. Also, app didn’t give me 7-days trial and just was withdrawing 1 year subscription. Avoid Eato, it not ready yet.

Frustrating

2024-05-06

Kind of hate Eato. Unless you are cooking exactly the recipe they are offering . I tried to scan three things, and the barcodes weren’t found. I tried to input myself manually, but if it isn’t exactly the quantity they have you can’t adjust it. I’ve tried twice to use this, and I’m removing it. No input for exercise. Waste of time. Update: sent an email and no reply from developer.

Update: emailed support was bounced back.

Scam app

2024-05-06

App offered me a free 7 week trial like most do, once I got Eato noticed that a lot of the content isn’t in proper English and the AI food scanning doesn’t work the way it’s marketed to. Went to cancel trial same day and was told it was cancelled, but still charged me $40 for the year long subscription I DIDNT even want. Don’t download app is scam garbage doesn’t work properly and Will charge without authorization

Unauthorized charge

2024-05-06

They say they have free trial . Si, I downloaded it and immediately noticed that the AI calorie count feature doesn’t really do the job, so, I went back 20 minutes later to cancel the trial and found out they already charged me $ 40 in my account. Be careful with Eato. It will take your Manet and not deliver what they say. I’ll change this review if they make it right with me.

Don't waste your money

2024-05-06

This is the worst app. You can't add your own food when it is not there. There is not a way to enter food that you eat all the time. You must look for it each time. You can't refund your money as they don't respond. It also doesn't give you options of portion size of certain food .
Find another app.

Pathetic trap

2024-05-06

Eato makes you spend 10 minutes to ‘tailor your routine’. It makes you spend so much time to enter details. And at the last page, asks you to pay. This is a trap that they want you to fall into. If they were transparent about their app not being free, they could just tell us this before. Disgusting

DO NOT PURCHASE! SCAM

2024-05-06

Eato does NOT WORK! I tried to get a refund after 2 days and no response from this app and Apple refused. The photo feature DOES NOT WORK! When it did finally capture a picture it said zero calories so all the nutritional info was WRONG! 😑 I am out a lot of money and they are not standing behind their product! The photo of food is a big disappointment.

Frustrated

2024-05-06

I just did an annual enrollment because I saw it had good reviews. I can’t even scan a cup of coffee with cream It doesn’t recognize it and also if I scan a barcode and let’s say that the serving is two pieces but I only ate one piece . It won’t let me change it to one piece very disappointed with Eato. I purchased Eato thinking that it would save me time by scanning and not logging my food one by one that was the whole purpose of me getting Eato and it does not work at all. The food has to be very simple. If it is broccoli and cheese, it will not give you any info tells you to rescan . FRUSTRATED!!!!’

No 7 day free trial

2024-05-06

So I was extremely excited to try Eato, because it seemed too good to be true with the AI scanning feature, but it would not allow me to start a subscription with a seven day trial. Instead it gave me a “new customer limited offer” of 50% off a year subscription. I’m sorry but I am, like many of us, would like to try an app before I pay for it. So until I’m able to get my trial, like what is advertised in Eato Store, Eato only gets one star for false advertising!!

Not happy

2024-05-06

I just did a year subscription last night and i tried the scan food to see how accurate. I had a simple salad to scan macros and it’s already giving me error messages. I tried so many times and it didn’t work. I placed my food in a well-lit area for better lighting and still failed. Already Eato is giving me anxiety and i don’t need it. I thought it will be easy but good luck with that. Subscription is already expensive so i decided to not proceed. I want a refund. I am not recommending this. It needs improvement.

No trial?

2024-05-15

I guess I should have been more diligent, but they present it in a way that directs you to subscribe under the impression you will have 7 days to try it out. You will not. Subscription starts immediately.
No nutritional information shared with Apple health, no family sharing. I canceled my subscription within a few minutes, but paid for a year. The one star is for the important lesson which is at least worth something.

No ready

2024-05-15

Can not scan food and get consistent results. Regular barcode scan is good. The number of calories seems way too high based on the another app and doctors recommendation. Can’t figure out how to adjust total daily calories. It is calculating about 800 calories higher. Gain a pound in a week with recommended calories. Not happy I spent for a year up front for this product. Should offer 7 day trail for the $29 price.

Not happy

2024-05-15

My first complaint is I was supposed to get a seven day free trial and then it charged me 40 bucks. My second complaint is the AI identified the wrong food and I wasn’t able to correct it causing my calories logged to be way higher than they actually were. I canceled my subscription and do not plan on using Eato because it’s in accurate and they stole from me.

So much for AI conquering the world

2024-05-26

Sorry, I wanted to like Eato but the AI works poorly. I’d say it correctly assesses the food photographed and scanned about 30% of the time and their AI search is surprisingly limited. Tonight I had a cup of black beans with a little cheese and when I scanned the image it came up “black bean soup”. Ok, close enough, but when I checked the nutritional content it gave me 0 calories, 0 carbs, 0 protein and 0 fat. Two nights ago I had simple beans and rice with a little salsa and a small scoop of guacamole. When I scanned, it refused to identify anything saying “too many items on plate” Really? I honestly had better luck getting the true calories and nutritional content just doing a simple Google search. We’re still a ways away from the Terminators eliminating us.

Don’t download

2024-05-26

I downloaded Eato to try it out. I’m thoroughly disappointed. When you answer their questions it’s almost like a child wrote them. The sentences aren’t coherent and quite honestly the question process is a joke. They ask you questions about your body weight sure but all other questions are irrelevant and contribute nothing to you losing weight. Not to mention they have lots of distasteful images and comments regarding your weight. After answering the questions they automatically create your name you know what mine was? Eator. And after alllllll this you end up having to pay to count your calories which was supposed to be free to begin with. Do yourself a favor don’t waste your time.

False advertisement!

2024-05-01

It says it all for a seven day free trial, but it did charge me right away. Eato is no good. I don’t like it at all and I would not have paid for this. I canceled my subscription right away and still got charged. Scammers in my eyes! I am upset about the charge when it said you can try it out for 7 days free!

excessively long questionnaire.

2024-06-23

Eato makes a bold promise but undermines it with an excessively long and irrelevant introductory questionnaire. The questionnaire bombards you with inane queries like "do you agree with this statement?"
If you've ever clicked on a social media link that led to an incredibly lengthy questionnaire before reaching a payment page, then you'll understand the experience of using Eato. To add insult to injury, they even thank you for contributing to their database after you complete the survey. In essence, they extract free information from you for their own benefit, only to hit you with a hefty annual fee of $288 per year to use the actual app.

Great idea not ready for prime time

2024-06-23

Ai is surprising, however the fact that once AI takes a stab at what’s on your plate, it doesn’t allow you to correct its mistakes re: special food prep ( hash browns cooked in an air fryer comes up as potatos and oil with a lot of fat and calories due to the oil. It also makes broad assumptions about serving size.

For someone who is serious about tracking what they eat for self awareness, accountability and weight loss, Eato has possibility but in its current form is not worth the investment. I just got charged for a full years subscription and would like a refund

Sick off this App

2024-06-29

I used this because I thought it would help me care for a family member diagnosed with diabetes it wouldn’t let me use the IA photo part of Eato with the feee trail so I ended up purchasing it. It couldn’t identify the foods I took picture of and when I scanned a food product label it gave me in accurate counts causing my family member to turn ill do to too much insulin.
When asked for a refund I was denied twice. I have a years worth of subscription that I deleted from my account do to it does not work correctly do not waste your money. If you want a good calorie count I recommend calorie king or fitness pal both free versions are better than this one paid version.

Great concept - not so great execution

2024-06-29

I had to give Eato a try. It seemed too good to be true but in a world full of AI innovation I gave it the benefit of the doubt and paid $19 (since they have no free trial available at all). It lacks many important features such as changing measuring units. It doesn’t have a big data bank of meals and it seems like you can’t add your own either. I am hoping they are able to fix these issues and, at the very least offer 24 hours of free trial so you can see what you’re getting into before committing to paying.

Wish it were better

2024-06-19

Ok don’t get me wrong Eato is pretty cool and it been useful. However it does not let you log a meal you’ve had previously. There was not as many bells and whistles as it seems. The ai portion is pretty good a bit inaccurate but it gets roughly what you are eating and the ingredients in. I had to delete and adjust the amount of several ingredients when I used it. Im sure they can fix the whole adding something you previously ate from your history deal and I can say this once they do I WILL BE BACK!!!!

I gained 1000+ pounds

2024-07-19

I am absolutely furious about the weight loss app that promised to help me lose weight but instead made me gain weight. I cannot believe how false the advertisement was, and I am utterly disappointed in the results.

Eato claimed to provide personalized meal and exercise plans, as well as tracking tools to monitor progress. However, despite following Eato 's recommendations meticulously, I noticed a gradual weight gain instead of the desired weight loss.

Not only did Eato fail to deliver on its promised results, but the experience was also incredibly frustrating. It seemed like Eato didn't take into account my individual needs or preferences, and the meal plan I gained 1000+ pounds

Put weight on instead of loosing it :((

2024-08-30

I can’t express my disappointment. I did Eato for 14 days and and weight on!!!

I was really hopeful when I downloaded the this app AI-powered weight loss app, expecting it to help me shed those extra pounds. Eato promised personalized meal plans, calorie counting, all tailored to my specific needs through advanced AI algorithms. I thought.

At first, everything seemed great. Eato was easy to use, and I felt motivated by the daily reminders and tips. However, as the weeks went by, I noticed something alarming: instead of losing weight, I was actually putting on more pounds. The meal plans, which were supposed to be low-calorie and healthy, often included high-calorie foods and large portion sizes. Scanni g of food lead to total wrong calorie calculations.

Despite following Eato ’s guidelines diligently, my clothes started fitting tighter, and I felt more lethargic than ever. It became clear that the AI wasn’t as intelligent as promised, failing to adjust the plans based on my progress and feedback.

In the end, I had to abandon Eato and return to my own methods of weight management. It’s incredibly disappointing to have invested time and hope into a product that not only failed to deliver but actually made things worse. I would caution anyone considering Eato to think twice and perhaps look for more reliable, human-guided approaches to weight loss.

Bug in HealthKit integration makes this useless

2024-08-30

this app counts every calorie I burn twice, once from Apple HealthKit and once directly from Oura (even though Oura saves exercise to HealthKit). This means my calorie targets are way, way off. this app support confirmed the issue and said I can fix it in import settings, but there are no import settings and support has stopped responding to my emails! So unfortunately Eato isn’t useful.

Update: developer contacted me and asked me to email but as I mentioned above I already emailed support on the 15th, 16th, 21st and 23rd without responses.

Update: the developer contacted me asking me to email AGAIN which I did, and 3 days later I still have not received any response to that or any of my earlier emails from the past two weeks! Why are you wasting my time? If you don’t have a customer service team why are you asking me to email them?

Useless

2024-05-31

Tried to sign up for the free trail and ended up with a year subscription. Scam. It’s a nice idea but the AI part guesses everything wrong and you can’t adjust the result. You can’t create food recipes that you use commonly so every meal you have to manually enter EVERY ingredient EVERY TIME. There is no insight to improve habits, there is no ongoing assessment of health. It would be just as beneficial to write down basic calorie info in notes app of my phone.

Useless App

2024-05-26

I bought Eato with the goal of using the picture feature to record my macros. It does not work as described. Every time I try to record my food with the camera, I get the “ensure photo compliance” message. Additionally, when I type in my foods, I can’t seem to adjust the amounts. Forget about trying to edit logged foods…you just can’t do it without starting over. Waste of money!

Fraud!

2024-04-18

I was charge and signed up for the seven day trial. This is ridiculous. Eato does NOT even work. Take a pic and it doesn’t calculate anything. Just comes back with a refresh button. Completely worthless.

No 7 day trial

2024-04-12

I wish I had read the comments before downloading the application a misleading ad tells you 7 days free and it's not true they charge you 40.00 dollars immediately they don't give you any 7 days free is not like other apps that they honor the trial so this not speak good for this company

Endless continue messages

2024-04-12

I had to click on continue many many times until I gave up. You need to make it simpler

I ended subscription and they still charged me.

2024-04-18

I had a trial and they charged me, after I ended the subscription. IF I end the trial why would you charge me ?! You charge on the month DUE , not a week after the trail ends I ENDED THE SUBSCRIPTION BEFORE THE TRIAL ENDED BECAUSE Eato GIVE YOU INACCURATE CALORIC DEFICIT..

Beware SCAM!

2024-04-14

Beware SCAM APP!!!!!!! Do NOT download!!!

Good not great!

2024-06-09

I regret not signing up for the trial before paying for the subscription, because I would have not paid for it. I like the concept and the IA works pretty accurate when scanning the food.
Unfortunately the calorie count is not accurate as it is not possible to customize the serving field. It doesn’t even say anywhere what is the size of the serving.
I want to be able to count the calories as accurate as possible and Eato is not it!
Im frustrated that I paid for the 1 yr plan!

What’s the point of that quiz????

2024-05-06

I literally spent like 15 minutes answering a bunch of (grammatically awful) questions, which included how much time i have available to make every meal. I say less than 15, and then I’m given only recipe ideas that take over half an hour to make. During the week I don’t have that time!! I am a working woman!!!! Is it possible to be healthy without breaking my wallet to buy the ingredients for the fancy ingredients, and while not spending much time to make food?? Bc if I meal prep for the week with THESE recipes, imma be in the kitchen ALL DAY

Not as described

2024-04-18

I would like to cancel my subscription, but there is no indication on who I contact. This simply is more of a calorie counter, and when I have tried to take pictures of Recipes, it always tells me that it cannot compute the calories.

I’m sure it would work as a calorie counter if you would input all of the information required.

Please contact me regarding who I need to address my cancellation to.

Exercise calorie tracker

2024-06-19

I honestly expected more… there’s a free App that I normally use that has way more features than this one… the ONLY thing I like about Eato is the AI scanning it does make things a LITTLE bit easier… To be honest it’s the only thing I’m going to use Eato for and had I known I wouldn’t have paid for it in the first place.. there is no way of telling how many calories you have actually burned off .. the other app I use shows me my calorie goal, minus the calories I have consumed, Once exercise gets registered , it adds those calories back to what my calorie goal is for the day… with Eato it just shows me what I consumed .. not what I burned off.. again I will ONLY be using Eato for the AI feature and logging it manually into my other app 🤷🏻‍♀️

Inaccurate

2024-06-23

Not sure if everyone tests it like I did but I have nutrition certifications and a background in personal training. I’ve been weighing my food and tracking it for years. I tested Eato with nuts and it was extremely off. It doubled the calorie count. Then I ate some nuts, took a scan again and this time it gave me triple calories of the amount from the pre-eaten serving. I ate about half but the calories went up 200…

I wished this would’ve worked because it would make life so much easier. It seems technology isn’t there yet.

This app seems cool. But

2024-06-19

I saw Eato. And though it was cool cause the ad showed u could use ur camera to log ur food/meals. But. U cant track or log foods unless u pay almost $30 a yearor 20$ a month kinda confusing the different plans also. The rate it says u should lose weight is unrealistic example: 247 pounds in 16 weeks. Which is unhealthy. One. To two pounds aweek lose is good. Not 15+ pounds week Wish i could have used Eato. To log what i eat but way to much money just to log food

What is the point of the 7 day trial if you just take my money before I’m sure

2024-10-11

I downloaded Eato 2 days ago. Signed up for the 7 day free trial. And I was charged $40 before the 7 days are up. I like Eato enough, it’s cool for the AI to take a picture of my food and analyze it. I know nothing is perfect, it’s gotten what I’m eating wrong a few times mistaken pulled chicken for pulled pork or house salad for Caesar salad, a bit annoying but not the end of the world. I was going back and forth on whether I wanted to use it because my ADHD will use something that’s fun to use for about two weeks and the novelty will wear off. Nothing against Eato, but it can ask the hundreds of apps I’ve downloaded in the past why they are no longer downloaded on my phone, I grew bored. Eato may have gone the distance but it didn’t even give me 5-7 days to decide. I’d probably use it when I get a job and I’m reaching for snacks vs healthy stuff to help me decide. I want to lose my weight but I more want my money back for the time being. $40 is a lot to spend when for an app I might get bored of and not use.

I want those other 4 days to decide if it’s worth it. I honestly just want the money back. 🥺😠😖

Should be free

2024-08-30

When it comes to weight loss apps it always baffles me how we actually have to pay to get better for ourselves. I said it before imma say it again, when it comes to weight lose apps such as this it should be free. Especially when you can’t even try to log in the food to ate that day without having it blocked by a paying monthly thing. When your a teen girl trying to lose weight and don’t have the money to buy the monthly stuff it gets hella annoying. Eato is a great concept, but for me the problem is the money and why I should have to pay to lose some weight, I guess this is just a sign to actually have to get someone to take me to the gym than relying on an app that wants me to pay.

Very basic functions

2024-08-30

1. My calorie intake is showing my goal to be 4,000 calories. I’m confused on how that is being calculated and how to change that because I’m pretty sure to manage my weight and health, eating 4,000+ calories is probably not helpful.

2. It would be really helpful to be able to change measurements in Eato . Everything is in grams and I use cups, ounces, etc. there’s no option to use any other measurement which means I have to try to look up a conversion guide which just adds time to logging food.

3. I like the profile area but I wish there was a way to edit what is seen. There’s a step tracker but no way for me to personalize with my goals of how many steps I would like to get.

4. I like how it works so well with my Apple health app.

5. The AI option has been helpful and I like that I can take off things I know aren’t in my meal. I noted that I don’t eat dairy but it keeps adding butter. I wish it would add ghee instead.

I really hope some changes are made because it could be a good app. If not though, I may switch back to what I was using.

Regrets.

2024-10-11

I wish I didn’t buy this for a year. I feel obligated to use it but the functionality is not en par with other calorie trackers and the AI component seems hit and miss. There’s no water tracker. There’s no nutrition information in the food search. In other apps you can see the nutritional content of the food and it can help you make better choices if you’re planning meals. The recipes aren’t searchable so unless I stumble across something I like and I happen to have the ingredients or I’m going shopping soon, it doesn’t really work for the way I cook.

Its a great idea. Eato is easy to use and integrates with Apple Health. It’s just missing a few things that would really make it a more effective tool.

For women who have no idea what they are doing

2024-06-29

I currently pay for a food tracker and was intrigued by an ad that said it could input my macros with a scan rather than me scanning barcodes or searching.

Spent 5 minutes going through baby talk questions obviously aimed at very slow women who have no idea what to eat. App told me I was obese because it uses BMI (I have visible abs and muscle mass) and recommended a weight loss program at my maintenance calories. Then wanted me to pay for a plan.

I just want to track my macros.

Lacking in certain areas

2024-10-11

To start Eato forces you to purchase before trying it out for a decent amount of time. I felt this was strange but I went ahead and purchased it.

I used Eato for about a month. I’m used to manually adding items by weight so I mostly used that feature of Eato . This area is lacking pretty bad. Once you get past the first suggestion serving sizes are very limited and the recent foods list is very short so if you eat the same stuff every day it gets frustrating.

I used the ai a couple times which was concrete but at the same time it’s difficult to gauge the accuracy without then measuring the food in question which I didn’t.

I don’t think the active calories burned is very accurate imo. One day it told me I could eat an additional 2000 calories over which in my experience isn’t that accurate.

Idk just a few things seem off with Eato so I am going to go back to one of my other ones. Hope I saved someone some time and money with this, felt I had to give my two cents on this one

Can’t adjust portions

2024-06-09

I am enjoying using Eato and its food identification feature. However, a challenge I encounter is that I underwent gastric bypass surgery. This means that when I capture an image of my meal, I can only consume a portion - maybe a third or half of it. Eato , unfortunately, calculates the entire meal which can lead to me either exceeding my food intake or falling short. It would be beneficial if there was an option to adjust this setting; perhaps I am overlooking something?

Frustrating to navigate

2024-08-30

I was very excited with the AI photo identification and it seems to be working well. However, it is very frustrating that after you log food into a daily category, you can not go back to view it. For instance, I see my lunch item and total calories, but I’d like to see each macro and then details about my lunch- beyond the one time you see it after the photo scan. I wish you could select each item you have logged to review it. Again, I see my total fat grams for the day, but I can’t find out which items held the highest percentage.

Released too quickly

2024-10-11

Eato is a great concept - take a picture and have AI figure out what it is and count calories for you. If you are completely new to calorie counting, not interested in learning how to do it properly, or just don't care much for accuracy, then maybe this will work for you.

For anyone who is a seasoned calorie counter, Eato is beyond frustrating. You cannot edit anything you log. You can't even delete it once you log it. As an example, I tested Eato with a plain chicken breast, which I weighed beforehand (6 oz cooked). Eato did, indeed, correctly identify my chicken breast. However, it asked me how many servings I wanted to log without indicating how much was one serving. If you enter chicken breast manually, it gives you plenty of choices, but if you use the AI tool, you have no control.

I would potentially use Eato over my preferred calorie tracker (Lose It) if it took the AI information and logged it by component in a meal AND if I could edit or delete those components from my log afterwards. I'm really surprised Eato was released before this basic editing feature was added. It seems like they spent a lot of time developing the "meal plan" feature (which is kind of nice but not what I was looking for when I downloaded Eato) and not enough time making the calorie tracker part usable, which I imagine is what most people probably want given that it's marketed as a calorie tracker app.

Didn’t give me my seven day trial

2024-04-04

I downloaded it to try to see if I would use it. It charged me immediately and didn’t give me my seven day trial to try it out. A little bitter about it.

Good but could be Great

2024-10-11

The main thing keeping me from giving Eato a higher rating is that it lacks the ability to allow you to edit your food entries. So, the calorie counts are inaccurate. For example, I eat plain oats with fruit just about every morning. Now I selected no dairy when I first signed up on Eato. Yet the AI logger still calculates that I have either yogurt or milk in my mixed fruit and oats. But I don’t, I use water. If I could edit/delete the wrong ingredient, it would give me a much better calculation.

There has also been several times that it gave me zeroes across all three categories on foods it seemed to recognize when o know that it has some calories, proteins, carbs, etc.

I also wish we could select one of our food entries and it would bring up the details/breakdown and let us edit it there. Again allowing for a much more accurate calculation of calories.

The meal plan/suggestions also do not allow for any editing. This is not nearly as crucial as what I mentioned above but would be helpful.
All in all, I like Eato but I would really love it if it had more user editable for more accurate tracking.

Buyers Remorse

2024-10-11

I got the offer to get premium for a year for 40$ when I first downloaded Eato with a timer counting down the offer expiring and I let that pressure me into making the purchase. However after using Eato for about 12 days now I’ve decided I don’t like it very much. It’s not a bad app, I like all the recipes it suggests, but what I don’t like is when you want to create your own recipe, after several attempts of trying to input the ingredients as exact as possible, the calorie count never ends up being correct and you also can’t go back and edit the recipe once it’s created. I requested a refund which I may not get, but I don’t plan on continuing to use Eato for the rest of the year. MyFitnessPal is better.

More control logging food needed

2024-10-11

As a newbie to calorie counting, app is ok. I’m frustrated as it only allows you to keep 10 food items under “Recent”, if I’m using every day, I would like to have an unlimited “Recent” list, so I can easily choose the food I eat on a regular basis. Maybe add another tab labeled “history” to allow us to create a list of all our favorite foods to take away the time to consistently search for the regular foods we eat!
Also when logging foods allow us to add multiples, ex I have 2 cups of coffee, give us the option of “How Many” currently I have to log it in twice. Same with lunch, if I have 2 slices of bread, give me an option of “How Many” so I once again don’t have to log it twice!

It’s pretty good

2024-05-31

I like Eato so far. The AI feature is pretty cool and useful when it’s working. The barcode scan is a great feature!! I just wish there was a way to manually input nutritional information, otherwise I just have to ballpark a similar item and it’s not accurate.

Needs More Features

2024-10-11

I paid for the 1-year subscription and I’m a little disappointed in what Eato DOESN’T have, like water intake. Eato keeps a short history of recent foods, like 7 items. I don’t like to have to re-search a staple breakfast food item every day because the history is so short. When it comes to servings, I wish they used fractions instead of decimals to calculate portions less than the full amount. I’d like to use 1/5 instead of 0.2. Another feature I’ve seen elsewhere is when a food is logged that is high or low in a target macro or saturated fat, it alerts you, to warn you that a food is very high and sugar or saturated fat, and I may potentially be over my target for the day.

BUG?

2024-06-09

I love that it plans your meals out for you so I don’t have to stress about what I’m eating next or worry I’ll cave and just give up. BUT when I go to set specific days I'm shopping for Eato will glitch out and the days I select will not stay highlighted. So I just have to figure out individually the meals and what groceries I’ll need.

Great app

Eato has made it so easy to track my food without the pressure of tracking or guessing on my own. I wish I could adjust the portion size below one serving, I often eat half portions. But otherwise it’s great.

Great app

Overall Eato is good. I only use the Ai scan when needed. Simple things like cup of coffee won’t be recognized but it’s easy enough for me to input it manually. I wish there was a way to edit the food in the ai scan. And it would be nice to have a breakfast, lunch and dinner category

Great but could be better!

2024-06-23

I like the idea of Eato a lot, especially using AI to scan food. However, the AI scanner isn’t always accurate and I cannot edit the ingredients it identifies (for example, I had farro one night but it identified it as white rice). I’d like to see that feature added, along with the ability to scan full written recipes and save them if they are frequently eaten.

Suggestions

Overall, if you’re serious about losing weight then you should definitely consider getting Eato. Eato is an amazing calorie counter and even helps with macro counting and meal suggestions overall an amazing app. I feel like there should be a way to manually enter calories and meals. Sometimes when I go to a restraunt the ai identifier and the food search doesn’t find the food with the correct calorie count, i feel like adding this feature will def make Eato better.

I was skeptical BUT

honestly I am pleasantly surprised at the accuracy. I wish this kind of app existed years and years earlier but now that’s it here it’ll make my life oh so much easier. I’ve been through countless app apps before but I’m super excited about this one. I hate paying and doing free trials but this one might actually be worth it. Welcome to the world of technology 🥰

Best App Ever

2024-07-19

I had Eato for 1 day and I love it… I was doing the 7 day trial but at the end, definitely gone subscribe for a yr…I can’t believe it scan ur food, know what u eating, how many calories, carbs, protein, this is awesome…Don’t hesitate if u want to eat healthy and loose weight…I really appreciate the different options of food because, the diet I’m on now for 30 days is very repetitive..Don’t hesitate, it’s worth it…

Love this app

Eato is amazing, very easy to use and the recipes and meal plan will make your life much easier.

The best

2024-07-19

I was just scrolling through another one of your apps and found this one so I decided to give it a shot. All of the recipes looks delicious but the only problem was when I said I wanted a vegetarian diet it still showed meat. It's not a big deal I just wish it didn't do that but I understand that it's hard to edit it correctly. Still the best though!

3 times as easy

Business Owner, Wife, and Mother

2024-10-11

I’m a small business owner, a happy wife of 13 years and the mother of a five year old. My weight and digestion took a change when I turned 37. I love the AI feature. It makes it so much easier for me to remember to log my food and look at my portions when I snap the picture.
This puts me in a place mentally where I feel I can do this! I can be a mom, wife and business owner and keep my food intake and weight in a healthy place! I can do it all 🫶🏼🫶🏼

Best calorie tracker app.

Cannot say enough about this. I was always wondering about what I ate and how much was I eating? More or less? What type etc.
Also I am a from India and a vegetarian and don’t eat even eggs. Thus the other calorie tracker didn’t work well.
Eato has many Indian foods that I eat along with it also has ability to add new foods based on the label on the bag.
It also has a barcode reader that extracts information required and includes the information.
I thought I ate lot of carbs. Guess what I ate very little and insufficient really. Thus I felt very tired always.
Not with your tracker however, I can get better information of what I ate and where I lag.
It’s helping me to keep my food in balance and adjust my intake as needed.
Thanks to the developers for this wonderful app.
Good luck to make it even better. ❤️

I am so happy I found Eato. It is just want I needed to learn more about my diet. I feel like I’m strict already but counting calories especially on the go was hard to track. If I could change or add anything I would have a drink category. I try not to drink my calories but sometimes I have a sugar free energy drink. Or Coke Zero which is zero calories but other ingredients. And I wish it tracked by ounces for food as well as servings. But I find it very helpful and keeping me on track!!!😁💪🏼

It’s a good app that gives you healthy food recipes to stay in shape, I just wish that it didn’t cost money to have the more benefits so that people who don’t have the money to pay on memberships feel left out . Losing weight and helping people should be free since everyone should help out everyone to achieve their goal.

Freakin cool app

2024-06-09

The AI isn’t perfect, and works better obviously for more simple menu items like chicken breast, rice, easily identifiable vegetables, but it’s pretty good. It does seem to overestimate calories, so don’t take it as gospel, but it’s a great app

I live in Heacham Norfolk and have a Lidl and a mini Tesco shop close by. I'm afraid your menus are above the capability of both stores. I'm 78 and my cooking level is low. I have deleted the app and would appreciate a refund.

1 serving split pea soup AI gave over 1200 calories. Not acceptable.
