Omg,i Feel myself so fool that i chose this app for my weight lose they are big fraud a big big scam ever happened with myself I must say wow for the management how they fool the peoples I saw this app that they give you opportunity that you use the camera take the pictures of the food and shows how much kcal are there but it’s only a big fraud app, this function even not working right that shows you fraud plz I recommend you all out there plz don’t use this app a big big fraud they are 🤬 i want my money back for subscription,I want back you thieves

everything is in imperial measurements.
no option to choose grams instead of servings.
I subscribed, like an idiot, do not spend money on this.
use yazio or my fitness pal, forget AI in this case.

Nutze Eato seit 30 Tagen mit mäßiger Begeisterungseit gestern funktioniert sie nun gar nicht mehr. Scannt ein Essen und löst es in die Zutaten auf, man kann nicht korrigieren und es kommen die abenteuerlichsten Sachen dabei raus. Erstmal werden falsche Dinge erkannt und die Kalorienzahl wird ergo falsch berechnet. Totaler Schrott, will mein Geld zurück!

Ich wollte die 7 Tage kostenlose Version testen und konnte den Kauf nicht abschließen. Das einzige was funktioniert ist der Kauf für 1 Monat für 22 Euro. Das ist doch ne Frechheit. Ich wollte nur ne Testversion und musste hetzt den Kauf abschließen. Ich hätte gern mein Geld zurück und möchte Eato erst testen bevor ich was kaufe.

Zunächst musste ich jede Menge Fragen beantworten, die man nicht skippen konnte, nur um nach 15 Minuten festzustellen, dass ein Test der AI Funktion nicht möglich ist, ohne Bezahlung.
Da es viele schlechte AI Apps auf dem Markt gibt aktuell, bin ich aber nicht bereit, vor einem Test ein Abo abzuschließen.
Zudem verändern sich die angebotenen Preise für Abonnements dauernd stark. Sehr unseriös.

Total scam!
It is advertised with seven days of free and risk-free testing. If you then decide to test it, you are immediately charged the full fee. I decided against this app within a few minutes of starting the test phase (so not even one day of the free 7-day period had passed) and now I'm told that the money is non-refundable and my subscription runs for a year. This is a total rip-off.

How can an app developer advertise this in the App Store, then rip people off, and Apple doesn't protect its customers from this?

It is the worst diet/ calories counting app I‘ve ever used. I got to know it from an instagram ad, they promoted the app as you can save the time you spent to weigh the food by just capturing a picture of the food you wanna eat using the app camera. So, I thought that would be really helpful and time saving. I subscribed directly to their Pro version to be able to use this feature. I tried it with one piece of avocado and then I weighed the avocado and checked it the 2 results. It is not even close! The other thing that they don’t have data base to all products. I live in Germany, and whatever food I tried to scan, isn’t exist in the app. I’ve been using YAZIO App for years now and they have a huge data base for almost everything and even you can enter into their data any food which doesn’t exist. I cancelled the subscription with this App and I’ll go back to use YAZIO knowing that it is not a scammer.

Die KI erkennt kaum etwas richtig. Alles nur geschätzt oder geraten. Auch wenn man Produkte scann erkennt Eato nix. Dann muss mal selber alles nacherfassen und dann passen die hinterlegten Einheiten nicht.

Rausgeworfenes Geld! Habe am gleichen Tag mein Abo gekündigt und über den Apple Store mein Geld zurückgefordert.

Schlechte App, es erkennt überhaupt kein Lebensmittel und wenn dann doch, mit falschen Angaben. Das Ziel solch einer App, sollte es eigentlich sein das Kalorienzählen einfacher zu machen und nicht schwerer. Der Preis über 44,99€ ist völlig übertrieben. Habe bis heute noch keine Antwort auf meine Mail erhalten.

AI works ok-ish but barcodes don’t work at all in Germany. Can we expect that to change in the future? The app looks way better and is easier to use than MyFitnessPal, but so far that seems to be the better solution.

Obwohl ich alles eingetragen habe, was ich zu mir genommen habe, und Eato mir fast jeden Tag angezeigt hat, dass ich noch Kalorien übrig habe, nahm ich in 14 Tagen Nutzung 1,5 Kilo zu statt ab. So trägt Eato scheinbar dazu bei, dass ich zu viel esse, weil ich angeblich noch Kalorien übrig habe.

Auch wundere ich mich, dass die Prognose wie viel ich abnehmen werde, immer gleich bleibt (1,21 kg im Monat). Es wäre sehr viel nützlicher, wenn diese Anzeige sich ändern würde je nachdem wie hoch meine eingetragenen Kalorien waren?! Wozu dient diese Prognose wenn sie statisch ist?

Außerdem wäre es gut wenn man sehen könnte, ob man von den Mikronährstoffen genug aufnimmt, ohne die empfohlene Zufuhr selbst nachschauen zu müssen.

Fantastic app in general and the AI to ingredients to macros is brilliant. However, the search for common meals / products and barcodes in Germany is very poor. Once this is added I would recommend the app here and give five stars.

Dear Team, can you kindly work to improve the Ai function? If I scan my food and there is rice with tofu curry and a bowl of lentil soup in one picture it only says tofu curry and adds 300 kcl. This could never be right! Also I don’t have the feeling it’s able to measure the portion size accurately. It just says one plate. But it could be a really big plate or a small plate… idk if it really makes sense to keep using this app tbh. I thought it’s useful bc I’m traveling in SE Asia and eat out all the time and don’t know what exactly is the amount I’m eating. But if it’s doesn’t properly measure it doesn’t make sense

I’m pleasantly surprised how well AI works in this!
It is way easier for me to stay on top of food tracking if I just have to take a photo and I can rely on software to calculate it right.

To address another review about living in Germany - I also live in Germany and the Barcodes the software doesn’t know you can add yourself using the ingredients and the name of the product. And that also calculates surprisingly well. It may not be 100% accurate with this feature but you can adjust the serving size by simply looking at the calories on the box and you got it.

Overall I have to say this tracker was a gamechanger for me and my laziness with tracking and even if you still have to adjust some things, it’s way less work than traditional calorie tracker.

Das Tool macht was es soll, mit einigen Besonderheiten für den deutschen User. Offenbar handelt es sich um ein Projekt in der Entwicklung. Das Tool ist für den englischsprachigen Raum gedacht. Das ist gut für meinen englischen Wortschatz. Es gibt Zugriff zu den britischen Barcode Datenbanken, zu den deutschen (noch) nicht. Die Maßeinheiten sind ebenfalls britisch - ich finde es interessant. Die AI Erkennung ist beeindruckend. Einige Rezepte gibt es dazu. Dass das Ganze überschlägig und nicht grammscharf ist erklärt sich glaube ich von selbst. Seit der Anschaffung von diese App bin ich auch ein bisschen leichter geworden. Die alleinige Nutzung des Programms reicht allerdings nicht, man muss auch weniger essen …. 😂
