PrincessCruises is exceptionally and shockingly terrible. For a cruise line that forces you to use PrincessCruises to do so much during your vacation they have really caused a huge frustration for passengers young and old. We were using the old app for most things because at least it was functional. However, today they discontinued that app so we are now forced to use the new nearly non functional app. I wish I could give you tips to make using it easier, but I don’t have any other than leaving a review and hoping they fix it. Princess, do better by your guests and fix this thing. It needs to be easy to use and straight forward instead of non functional and cumbersome. Until you can make an app that your average clientele can open and use without much to do you need to bring back easier ways to do things around the ship.

Prior to boarding the ship we did our pre-board checklist at which point we said we were doing a celebration and that I would need distilled water. We also booked a couple of excursions. When we boarded the ship we didn’t have any tickets for our excursions and had to go down to the excursion desk to get them. We never received our celebration and there was no distilled water. I would schedule coffee to be delivered every morning at 6. We then would immediately have our coffee delivered like we had placed the order for now. The map of the ship doesn’t give you a search option and when you say ‘Go There’ the marker on map is over the text making it hard to know what you are looking at. They shut off access to the map at the end of trip despite us still being on the boat. The excursions that you can book through PrincessCruises do not show up on your schedule which is just dumb. We were logged out of PrincessCruises repeatedly and unable to login for hours. And the worst thing is that PrincessCruises creates a dependency on carrying your phone around which prevents you from disconnecting.

I’m almost done with my time on the cruise, and this entire time PrincessCruises has been so dysfunctional. For one, I was logged out MULTIPLE TIMES, like whenever I lost WiFi connection, (aka whenever we left the ship) which leads me to problem number 2, you can’t use or communicate with family members on PrincessCruises if you’re off ship! Lots of destinations did not have cell service available, and I couldn’t find a way to contact family off ship. 3, there are no notifications, no messages or announcements on the Lock Screen, meaning I won’t see my family’s messages for long periods of time until I open PrincessCruises again. 4, it’s not easy to navigate PrincessCruises , if I’m looking for restaurants open on ship it won’t tell me, only give me a list of each one. It also doesn’t tell you if many of the restaurants and services are free or charge extra. 5, the gps navigation to find a location on ship is so hard to use. I tried to get PrincessCruises to navigate me to a restaurant on board and it barely worked. Overall, not many features, and the ones available are very poorly executed.
I’m pretty disappointed with the entire tech experience with princess. From the online accounts to the medallion to PrincessCruises - everything feels extremely disconnected. My account never syncs with PrincessCruises . The online chat is horrendous, times out, takes an extremely long time to get a response. I have been asked to register my account over and over. I have to call to make any edits to my account details. My app is accessed through my booking number and not my account. PrincessCruises overall seems extremely dated for instance the map of the ship is just a PDF and not an interactive experience. You have to register your medallion on PrincessCruises , but I’ve done it 4-5 times and eventually had to call to complete my order. For how much Princess pushes PrincessCruises , it needs a big update to make it functional, accurate, intuitive and usable. There are many features it says it offers but really is better accessed online. The only thing that works with this company is their call center. Honestly the experience pre-cruise has been awful I wish I purchased with someone else.

Firestone Princess Cruise, and day 1 was a nightmare. We spent the entire first day of our cruise rebooking everything. The line for “guest services” was worse than anything you’ve ever experienced at Disney! It seems the Princess “system” was responsible for cancelling all of our pre-paid bookings, including our premier package. The more than $2000 spent and verified by receipts in hand was unexplainably just gone within the last 24 hours. We would now be required to rebook and repay for this while someone stateside at the office tried to find our refund which should have been issued when their “system” decided to cancel everything. First day was lines, 5 different people, no drinks, no spa, and honestly no concern. The only resolution was pay again and “we hope you receive a refund from the error”. While it was an obvious Princess system error, no one onboard was empowered to resolve it or honestly even cared. Given the number of people in line upset on the first day, this cruise line has some serious deficiencies.

This is my first time cruising with Princess and there are 7 of us First off, the Log In for PrincessCruises doesn’t even work so we all keep having to login using our booking number and birthdate. Annoying! Then we fill in all the check in information for all passengers and order medallions. A few days later, my husband logs in again using booking number and he can’t even see our journey. He tries to add the sailing and when he does so, it says it’s already added. Really?!? Because PrincessCruises says he has no journeys. Next problem is one of us makes dining reservations for all 7 of us. Even though you select all the passengers, no one else can see the reservations in their app. Even more annoying is when I log back in to look at the dining reservations, 5 of the confirmed reservations are gone. And this is just my first few days dealing with PrincessCruises. I have to use it all 7 days of the cruise??! Wow Princess! Hire a new IT team or you’re gonna lose customers like us.

We cruised with Princess right after the roll out of Medallion Class. The technology for the wearable has lots of potential, but PrincessCruises was horrendous. We just booked another cruise with them, and I was excited to see a new app! Unfortunately, it’s been just as bad. Technical error message when I try to make dining reservations, and shoreside customer service is like dealing with the worst cable company’s customer service you can imagine. Five different reps, and none would acknowledge it was a technical issue with PrincessCruises until I escalated it to a supervisor. Different departments don’t talk to one another, and one rep even told me dining reservations weren’t in his job description. Not exactly a welcoming way to put you in a vacation mindset. Princess - you need to do better with PrincessCruises and with your customer service! Make it match the experience on your ships!

The boarding process was terrific. Alas, other aspects were troubling. Dining was a bit of a disaster. For instance, we had reservations for 6 PM at Concerto restaurant but waited 45 minutes in a long line to be seated ( and we were in the reservation line). Grew tired of waiting in lines. Specialty restaurants good. The worst, however, was our room steward… my wife’s jewelry disappeared and we reported it to security… the next day it reappeared in a place my wife insisted she never put it. Then, he failed two nights in a row to leave us breakfast room service cards. Then my wife’s watch disappeared… 😡the room make up was half assed… I had to complain and ask for a different steward. The first night when the jewelry disappeared, we weren’t able to open the safe to store valuables.
Lastly, the staff in general seemed dour and not particularly interested or friendly as opposed to a recent 18 day cruise on the Norwegian Encore. Everyone there was smiling and super friendly. Not so the Princess Regal. The ship itself was nice and the fitness center was open 24 hours, which I liked.
Just disappointed in Princess. I had taken five previous Princess cruises and always enjoyed the experience. Something obviously has changed and not for the better.
Just came off my first Princess cruise and while we had a great time overall, the onboard app is one of the worst I’ve ever used on any cruise line I’ve been on before (been on 4 other lines). PrincessCruises can track a family member anywhere on the ship and have food brought to me anywhere but if I want to know what places were available to get food at any point of time, or what restaurant hours were it’s impossible to find. There are no filter options for food, entertainment, or kids activities. To find anything you have to search through the whole days itinerary. Also, and this is the worst issue- there are no phone notifications so if someone sends me a chat I get no notification on either my phone or Apple Watch. The only way I can see this is by opening PrincessCruises and usually a bunch of time already passed by since it was sent. This is basic stuff and there is no excuse for not having this functionality when you have advanced features on the ship. Don’t get me started on the specialty dining reservation process for premier package cruisers and the frustration placing and changing reservations without getting charged. Whoever designs PrincessCruises should take a Disney cruise to see what a real cruise app looks like. Was definitely a negative to an otherwise nice vacation and definitely played a factor into me sailing with Princess again (probably won’t).

If PrincessCruises is any indication of our upcoming cruise, we’re in trouble. Not looking forward to it! Very frustrating app, especially trying to book Specialty Restaurant reservations for 7 people. PrincessCruises wants to charge me for 2 people when we all have Premier Packages. Customer support is useless, I got different responses (with no resolution) when calling their 800#, which is a giant call center where most cannot speak English well enough to communicate. No one was not helpful or knew what their talking about. One person in our group can’t even get PrincessCruises to reflect the cruise reservation so he can enter his travel checklist. With so many complaints Princess obviously does not invest in correcting their app or educated customer service reps. This will be the last time I sail Princess and I haven’t been on the cruise yet!

we set up PrincessCruises for our cruise at least a month in advance, which includes putting a payment method on file. this payment method was still linked to our profiles when we began our cruise. on the last day (the morning everyone is disembarking) we get a call to our stateroom saying we need to pay our bill, when some documentation we’d been given days prior by the staff said that if we had a payment method on file on our app, we would not need to settle our account in person. when speaking with guest services they said they didn’t see it on their end so we had to pay in person, taking time out of the busy morning of getting ready. what’s worse is that when we were being cleared to leave the ship, my partner was stopped for “not settling his bill” when we literally had done that with guest services less than 2 hours ago and had the receipts to prove it. it was a hassle and we were stopped at the gangway for several minutes, and just added to our annoyance of trying to get off and meet with our family. all of this could have been prevented had PrincessCruises worked and connected with the cruise services.

I am disappointed in Princess for putting out this “updated” app. When I added “shipmates” while trying to schedule dinners, my son and grandson, it added them five times each. PrincessCruises does not give the option to delete shipmates. Now when I try to schedule a dinner, it attempts to schedule 12 people instead of 4. I called Princess on the phone, they supposedly linked our bookings but it hasn’t helped. Princess also scheduled the for of us for a meal at their steakhouse but nowhere on PrincessCruises is the reservation listed.
We ordered our medallions 23 days ago but PrincessCruises still tells us that we need to order them and that our purchase is in process.
It seems that a majority of PrincessCruises is designed to sell extras like the spa services, drink packages and fancy medallion holders rather than helping the customers.

We're on our cruise now and PrincessCruises doesn't show our reserved excursions, nor can we view any excursion information on the website since the cruise is underway. We can reserve additional excursions but PrincessCruises shows no itinerary details. We'd like to make specialty dining reservations but PrincessCruises couldn't show us the menu. App showed an error when trying to confirm dining reservations. When my spouse adds an activity to our calendar, it sometimes takes an hour or so before it shows up on my "journey". When asking PrincessCruises to take me to a specific location, PrincessCruises lists the steps but doesn't update my current location. Lots of room for improvement. Prior to the cruise we ordered our medallions via PrincessCruises and those were never shipped to us either.
PrincessCruises is practically worthless. My last issue (of several) was in ordering my medallion for an upcoming cruise. I was able to order it about a month ago (I may have even used the old app, which was better than this one) but it was showing I still needed to order when I looked at it today. I tried to order for both myself and my travel partner (who had not yet ordered one) and when I clicked on the Order Medallion button, a got a message “unable to load content.” I had to call Princess and have a representative confirm my order and order one for my friend. Don’t even get me started on the dining reservations. If they are going to insist we do all our check in steps using PrincessCruises, it needs to work better.

PrincessCruises is an abyssmal failure with regards to accommodating two specific variations of Princess Cruises, and if it were possible, I would give it a minus 2-star rating accordingly. For passengers who have booked two cruises with an end date of the first cruise and start date of the second cruise within two days of each other, PrincessCruises treats them as one linked back-to-back cruise, regardless of whether or not they were booked separately, have two separate itinerary numbers, and/or are on two different ships. What this means is that the user cannot access the second cruise to do anything that can only be completed using PrincessCruises . The second failure is associated with Princess Cruisetours. Journeyview is not set up to include any aspect of the land itinerary. Put the two together, and it gets even worse. I just received an email from Princess Cruises urging me to go to PrincessCruises to complete vital information necessary to finish checking in for my upcoming cruise. When I opened PrincessCruises to do so, I received the following error message: “To access PrincessCruises , please connect to our free onboard Wi-Fi ‘MedallionNet®’ or check your connection status“. The ship for the landtour I am currently is entering Glacier Bay at the moment, and I am probably 650 miles away from it in the interior of Alaska with no access to MedallionNet. Back to the drawing board, folks. PrincessCruises STILL is not ready for prime time.

Princess Cruise points the customer to PrincessCruises, but aside from entering pre boarding information, it is a bit cumbersome. Maybe once we board on ship, it may be helpful. Some info should be menu options and not navigating through other selections like ship layout. UPDATE: PrincessCruises is the worse. Can’t depend that it processed anything correctly. Example, ordering the stupid Medallion. It would not appear to have processed the order. Then I get two emails congratulating me on my order and indicating I had selected to have the Medallions shipped to my home, which was correct. But the status would show process as outstanding. I assumed maybe because the order was not shipped yet. I then get a marketing email about upcoming cruise and completing the process. Now PrincessCruises shows order status as two outstanding orders. So I call to find out what is outstanding. Agent tells me I am picking up Medallions at port, i.e., the slow process which defeats the whole purpose. I argued I had email indicating i did select to be shipped to my house. Bottom line, agent fixed everything and gave me date supposed to arrive. Now I don’t trust anything I do with PrincessCruises . Especially since it keeps popping up Error screens. Awful app.

It’s hard to describe how glitchy and unintuitive PrincessCruises is. It looks fine at first glance, but getting anything done (signing up, ordering medallion, etc.) is incredibly difficult. Often when you go from page to page PrincessCruises freezes for 10 seconds or longer. A good example is when ordering our medallions, lanyards, and other swag. As we selected items, they didn’t get appear in our cart, so we selected them multiple times. Eventually, PrincessCruises refreshed and there were several extra items in our cart, but there was no way to remove some of those items once they were selected (some items had a “trash can” icon, but most didn’t). Once we purchased medallions for all 3 travelers only one of us shows up as having “completed” our booking. It’s been incredibly frustrating and we don’t even embark for a month. Hope this isn’t a sign of things to come.

PrincessCruises is HORRIBLE. You load your information and “error encountered. Please try again later” comes up a ridiculous amount of times. The only way to get past a screen was to unload and reload PrincessCruises . For. Every. Single. Screen. There are 5 people on our cruise! I literally spent 4 hours doing our check in process. So ridiculous. I finally had to use their “website compatible app for those without a compatible device” to order our medallions on our home computer. I didn’t realize that an iPhone 13 wasn’t a compatible device?! Since when? Definitely not a great introduction to our first cruise with Princess next month 👎🏼
I was hoping that this would be a temporary issue, but I think it’s just awful. When I’m logged in (if I can get logged in), I see a cruise that I am not even going on. The one that I’m supposed to go on is nowhere to be found and when I try to add it manually, it won’t accept it. I can’t check any information. I can’t enter any of my information. Nothing works. The saddest part is neither does your website. Before I downloaded PrincessCruises I downloaded the other other app that you were using before. Go back to the one you were using before because it was way better than the one that is out now I don’t even understand how people are even using it that it has zero functionality.
Notifications and “refresh”

Why have you NOT added notifications to this basic app? When you chat with others you have to continuously check back on your app. When the phone is locked or not it should notify you that a message is waiting. Please update as soon as possible for this basic feature.
Time Problem. After your phone goes into lock mode and then you unlock the phone and open the Princess app. You go to the Princess app and PrincessCruises ’s time has not updated. You have to close and then reopen PrincessCruises to have it refresh to the current time. Please have it refresh periodically while open so all features are up to current time.

I can’t believe Princess introduced this “new app” before it was ready! It is terrible! I cannot print my luggage tags from PrincessCruises . I had to go online,okay, no big deal, always have in the past, but they said that was what the new app was for? Printing luggage tags?!?! You failed there. It shows me as a first time cruiser on Princess & I am Elite. I am not looking forward to using it on our next cruise. And when I called Princess, they said it would take up to 2 weeks to fix the mistake on my app & I sail in 5 days, so that doesn’t do any good. And I did all the things they said to do, delete & reload PrincessCruises , turn phone off & back on, nothing has helped. It is PrincessCruises .😝

We have been attempting to check in for our upcoming cruise. PrincessCruises says my password is invalide, even though it is correct and works on the website. Website will not allow you to fully check in and loops you around. In PrincessCruises , once resetting my password for no reason, it deletes a portion of information after going to guest two. We cruise in less than two weeks and now we will be u able to order our medallions. I have been trying over and over. There technology issues and lack of customer service are the reason I will not be back to Princess after this cruise.

Login mostly just spins and returns to login. If you do manage to get in you get a session timed out message within a few seconds and are sent back to login screen.
Update: Later on I was able to get in, but it wants me to completely redo all of my check-in information, despite being “green lane” on the previous app.
This is the worst app I’ve ever used. It is not functional at all. It's incredibly slow and half the time won’t even load anything. All the names of the people in my linked group for dining are tripled, and therefore I get an error anytime I try and book anything. Called guest services and am told that I will need to book all dining once on board with guest services. Also, cruise credit doesn’t show on PrincessCruises so cannot book specialty dining or excursions using the credit. Again, am told I will need to book once on board. So frustrating, especially for how much we paid for this trip.

Went on a princess cruise with their first app. It was ok. Then they revamped and created another app. I will not list all the troubles we and another couple have had with the apps (because yes, we used both old and new as we were told by Princess the new app is horrible, keep using the old one as long as you can) because it would be as long as “War and Peace”! I’m thinking of never cruising with them again because why in the heck would I PAY for such torture!! Princess. Why is the RC app so much better and easier? Go hire their people and get this straightened out already!

I am not sure why they discontinued the use of the old app because that seemed to work just fine. With this one I can’t even access my booking. I am fine logging in on the website, but when I login on PrincessCruises and try to link my booking it says it’s already been assigned to someone else. So why would everything about my trip and booking be accessible on the website but yet not allow me to do anything on PrincessCruises ? I have been trying for about two months. My trip is coming up in June and I’m going to have to figure out how to make this work.

PrincessCruises is not ready for even the most basic use. Constant issues with various areas of PrincessCruises . For days I was not even able to log in and kept receiving error messages. Now I’m in and unable to reserve dining bc it seems PrincessCruises is unable to connect to their dining database and provide accurate information to end users. Don’t beta test your app on paying customers. If the most basic functionality of PrincessCruises is not working then you need to provide other methods to accomplish tasks without needing to make a phone call. Unacceptable.

PrincessCruises is a joke. I thought the first Ocean Ready / Medallion app was bad but by the last cruise I used it on it was actually working. But then came version two. We booked a cruise in July and were able to enter all our data and became green lane ready. Then about a month and a half later I went in to check what time our dining reservation was and found ALL of my information gone. And I mean all. The only thing there was the cruise reservation. However, everything was just fine on my wife’s app. Called Princes and started the process of re-entering the information. Some data it would not let me enter, but we managed to eventually get it entered. I could not link to out dining companions on our dining reservation (though my wife could) and could not enter a payment method (credit card) though it clearly was present on my wife’s app. They even charged $10 for medallion shipping to the card. My wife was able to get us back with our dining group. For the last three weeks I have been trying to get my charge card entered with no success. Six calls to Princess, who referred it to the “back office” (Ocean Ready) has not resolved a thing. Two weeks out and I am still blue lane while my wife is green lane.
PrincessCruises is more advertising for onboard upgrades and services than help for getting required information entered. The whole process is just a joke, starting with PrincessCruises .
Princess truly does cater to the senior population and one thing that is for certain. 95% of us can’t find our way around a computer unless we have a grandchild with us. We are ona cruise to hide from them for a couple weeks. PrincessCruises is not getting better it’s getting worse. it only shows in half page, one can’t find anything on the site as navigation is poor at best. I would suggest that you scrap it and build another from the ground up. The company keeps trying to fix this format and it is like trying to get a horse with a broken leg up to run. Seriously, I just added my airfare on to our next European cruise and I put it on the account a week or so ago. I can’t even find where to go pay on it and I have been looking for over half an hour. I would at least thing you would make it easy to spend the money. When I came onto the site to buy my air through your service, it took two separate visits and a stroke of luck to figure out where to go to do that.
It is seriously flawed and I love cruising with you. You have taken great care of us on the trips we have taken but, your app is definitely an issue

I have tried doing the check in for our upcoming cruise for several weeks to no avail! I spent 40minutes on the phone with Princess and they couldn’t get us checked in either so I guess we will have to spend an inordinate amount of time on arrival to the cruise terminal. This is our first Princess cruise , very disappointed with their website. I was told someone would be calling me back once they figured out the glitch, that was 4 days ago!

We’ve taken more than a dozen cruises but none with Princess. We heard good things and want to give it a try. Booked and paid for the cruise but now cannot even set anything up in the pre-cruise planner. Also, my DOB is incorrect and I cannot change it, and I cannot input onboard payment card. Tried calling the 800 number twice but was assigned to an agent I couldn’t understand both times. Maybe we should just stay with our other cruise line?

You can’t see excursions you have booked, so the “journeys” section is worthless. Sometimes it pops up and blocks me from logging in saying I need parental permission ( they died 40 years ago). There’s at least 4 different ways to log into the system/app, and it varies as to which one will work. PLEASE test this before dumping it on your customers! I noticed a few minutes ago while in my room that I am “off ship”. I assure you I am ON the ship as we are now in the Atlantic Ocean!

It takes about 20 minutes to do anything in PrincessCruises because it is so slow. I click on something, and come back five minutes later and it has finally loaded. It took me an hour to check-in because I was sitting there waiting for everything to load. You can’t do anything online and it forces you to use PrincessCruises and it’s excruciating. You would think PrincessCruises would be much more user friendly if they force you to use it!

PrincessCruises is confusing, slow, frustrating, and not at all intuitive. Having to go back and forth between PrincessCruises and the website to complete booking requirements is ridiculous. The most annoying part is that I cannot manage an associated booking in PrincessCruises . My spouse had to download PrincessCruises and log in with the other booking number to manage that booking on his phone. Other cruise lines have this figured out. Get with it, Princess.

Princess! Get your act together. Your app is slower than slow and has tons of incorrect t information. Cannot access our information, status shows different on PrincessCruises vs your online site. Slow, slow, slow and too cumbersome to deal with. Extremely frustrating and disappointing that this is PrincessCruises you expect your guests to deal with. Horrible experience and will consider other cruise lines in the future. You may have just lost multiple guests and future cruisers.

This update is very very frustrating. When you try to use your account name and password you get an invalid info error. The website and the old app work just fine. To get in the new app you need to enter using your first and last name, the booking number, your birth month, day and birth year. This should fixed immediately. Their hot line was evasive about the fix. Princess get your act together!

It won’t let us do the check-in. Keeps telling me to try again later. Have called twice. I at least got them to send me the medallions. We will see if it arrives. They elevate to app support that takes 3-5 business days. You can’t talk to them. No one calls or send an email or text. There is no case # to tell support. we continue to have issues. Have tried both of our phones and the web page. Nothing works and no one can help. I have 25 days before embarking.

The Princess website isn’t much better, either. While exploring and booking excursions, you constantly get signed out for no apparent reason, have to log back in multiple times, and then get to do it all again when trying to pay via PayPal gets you kicked out all over again.
Your app and website are embarrassing. Do better. It’s 2024.
Princess app is very faulty. They need to make a lot of updates to get all of these bugs worked out. I have completed all of my check-in requirements but PrincessCruises still says I need to order out medallions. I have confirmed everything through the web page and we are all complete. PrincessCruises is just not reliable and since you are supposed to be completely relying on it that makes me nervous. We’ve spent way too much on this trip to let PrincessCruises screw things up. PrincessCruises is probably one of the worst in my experience.

To say Princess technology is terrible is being kind. It honestly terrifies me that if they can’t get an app to work right and consistently, what will the cruise be like.
I constantly get kicked and have to relog in. I try to make a reservation and it just spins. Make a payment (you would think that’s the one thing they want to work well?) …. Nope, spins and I eventually have to call. Excursion reservations, get kicked out and have to sign back in. Then after all the battles, you get a message that they are having technical difficulties. Incredibly frustrating. If we hadn’t already booked around this particular cruise, I would seriously change.

Interface is slow and buggy. Sporadically logs me out at random times. Dining reservations are randomly deleted - I’ve made them four times, including once over the phone, and they randomly disappear from PrincessCruises ; calling customer support I’m told they have no record of those reservations, and that PrincessCruises has been having some issues. I’ve redone my reservations 3 times and called in twice, but they just randomly disappear again and again. Sometimes I login and my cruise isn’t even listed - my whole trip disappears at random times so I camp even book excursions or make payments. Completely unreliable garbage.

They entered wrong birth year when we booked the cruise. And mobile app tells me when I enter the booking number and email that IID is being used by someone else. WTH I’ve deleted and reinstalled and deleted and reinstalled still nothing has changed. TA has spent 8 hours on the phone with them and they claim there are issues but they are working on it… how hard is it to go into the system and change 2 numbers??? If I go into the profile in PrincessCruises and want to change my account info, all it will let me edit is display name not my birth year… Beyond frustrating and have a very bad inkling this is the beginning of major issues to come!!!

The time out issues everyone else mentioned is only one bug (and circumvented by the more cumbersome log-in method of booking number vs. name/password)—-and needing to log in every time still applies there. Also, as mentioned, you can only see your next booking, not all if you have multiple, which was available in the previous app. Something else missing from the previous version is the ability to see guests linked to you who have other booking numbers.
For the new Sun Princess, the ship map is not loaded. You also still can’t book dining reservations, although I understand that is because the ship hasn’t loaded info, not a glitch in PrincessCruises .
Honestly, I can’t believe PrincessCruises has been released and that the old app will no longer be available in 20 days. I am unable to add travel companions in the new app though they did show up after I added them in the old app. Luggage tags cannot be printed in the new app because the print button does nothing. I finally had to go to the old app to print our tags. I have to give my cookie preferences every time PrincessCruises sends me to a web page. I only selected my cookie preferences once in the old app. The “Packages” option sends me to my documents. Luckily I will have completed my cruise before the old app no longer works. I do hope Princess fixes these problems ASAP.

This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. The Ocean Ready checklist ids not accurate. Customer service sees different things than I see. Fortunately customer service says I’m ready. We will see. Navigating excursions is awful. Tapping details forces you to return to the top of the excursion list every time. And it asks to reveries cookies at seemingly random moments. Finally I was ready to checkout for $500+ of excursions and it won’t let me. It actually freezes me out saying my session has expired. Expired! Even though I had interacted with PrincessCruises of over two hours. For what the cruise costs and how Princess forces us to use PrincessCruises , their developers should probably test it before making us use it.

To qualify, I’m a retired IT professional with 50+ years of experience and an Elite passenger. From the first app, website redesign to this new app it has been one disaster to another. Lack of simple functionality and the inability to do actions like buy an internet package (“payment information not available”, even though it shows an image of the card and I’m in the green lane). This is just embarrassing. The “would you hire this person” survey question for their agents, if I was asked about their IT staff/contractor would be never in a million years. I also notice that the only products shown for this developer are the two Princess apps. Not surprising. Must be someone’s nephew.

Boarded a cruise using the old app. Was very difficult to scroll. It’s like a delayed scroll so when you go to scroll again your thumb hits a selection and you have to start all over again. Shipmate tracking is okay but the shipmate chat is horrible. Don’t see notifications unless in app. No time stamp on texts. We updated to the new app in port. It was horrible. They put the crew chat on the front screen when it would be better to put the shipmate chat with your family on the opening screen. Family chat didn’t work and we had to redownload the old app to chat with family. It needs to get better. Takes forever to load while on the medallion network. There are no other options for apps so you get what you get.

(1) We can't add travel companions in a dedicated tab before embarkation, as provided in the old app. How can we locate them on board using PrincessCruises if we can't first add them in PrincessCruises ? We want to be able to add our travel companions before we board as in the old app by adding their booking numbers (Travel Companions under JourneyView). Please restore this function. (2) In order to see other cruises we've booked besides the one nearest in time, we're forced to log out and log back in again using those booking numbers. Viewing our future cruises has become a more cumbersome process than it needs to be. We should be able to log in once with our Princess credentials and then move freely among our various future bookings. The old app originally had tabs with future cruise dates that could be selected located under My Profile. Please restore this function. (3) There appears to be a lot of repetition in PrincessCruises - for several functions there are multiple ways of accessing them. I fail to see the need for this. One function, one tab. Keep it simple. UPDATE: when are you going to address these oversights in your new app (especially the first two deficiencies)? We're waiting!
Have entered all boarding requirements & had green lane w old app & web site personalizer yet new app shows I need to provide credit card for off ship purchases (a princess program). This is not a requirement. This program is not even available where I am going. I have called princess twice w/o success. I ‘m told not to worry, that I am in the green lane for boarding One rep said a person from their support dept would check into it & get back to me. They did not. Frustrating.

I sure hope Princess pays more attention to detail on their ships. Many functions in the software just don’t work. For example, the check-in function could not retain information of the companion passenger, and PrincessCruises would not allow resubmission of the info. It required a call to Customer Service to complete checking in. The “Print luggage tag” icon on the mobile app does not work. The onboard ship credit page does not give updated info on the credit balance.

This is a word of advice. Continue using the original Medallion app as this new one doesn’t function properly while on a cruise. The new app doesn’t show your cabin number or elite status. You also cannot make dining reservations, see your account statement or see any future cruises already booked. Princess released this new app way too soon because there are so many glitches to fix. The tech crew on board is stuck dealing with angry and confused guests, and their only reply is that hopefully a revision will be available soon.

I’m green on old app but not completed in new app - Why do I have to set onshore payments to get green lane on the new app?
Also I have to select two or three options before I get to the place the old app takes me directly to (opening screen). When I open the new app I want the same opening screen as the old app - a summary on my stuff, not ads of things to sign up for. I don’t like having that shoved in my face as the first screen.
I just want a menu of things to select, not large photos I have to scroll through. This is a phone app, not a large computer screen.

The old app showcased what you’ve purchased, what you’ve accomplished, what you have to look forward to. This new joke of an app doesn’t even show you the itinerary. It tells you the name of the ship and how many days to embarkation. The rest of the space is just filled with what you still haven’t bought from them yet. And if you want to see your itinerary all you have is a chronological day-by-day list that you have to scroll through like I’m some kind of lab mo key. PrincessCruises is not about me, or my excitement, or the journey. It’s a brochure about how I could be making Princess Cruises more profitable.
I know PrincessCruises is brand new, but it keeps kicking me out after like 15 seconds. I keep getting a “session timed out” error message and then I have to re-log in. Super frustrating!

Downloaded it, logged in, clicked a button, was immediately logged out. Five times in a row. It doesn’t remember my password. If it does do Face ID, it doesn’t stay open long enough for me to activate it. If I’m on a cruise and I have to keep logging in to check things, PrincessCruises is worthless. PrincessCruises needs a huge update for speed and user friendliness.

This is the worst app I have ever had. I have an upcoming cruise and PrincessCruises is supposed to make it easier. You can’t find anything and half the time it has some kind of error. We ordered our medallions and PrincessCruises is saying that we need to order it yet. It’s hard to find your flights and you can’t see the rest of your travel party on this new app. Please fix this quickly.

The old app was so much better. I cannot connect my families bookings together. I called process customer service, she said she has linked them. I went to make reservations for our family of 4 and they are still not linked! It’s so frustrating. There are several issues but this is just one item that should be basic. Princess you HAVE to fix this mess of an App you require us to use!
PrincessCruises is a complete dumpster fire. If I log In with my reservation, I can see my upcoming trip. If I log in with my email and password, it tells me the password is wrong. If I reset it, the email directs me to the website. I reset it, I can log into the website. Try to log into PrincessCruises and it still says wrong password. Someone must have forced the developers to push this to production before it was ready.

Tried to fill in the information required and get a message “error, please try again later” I have tried later a number of times. There are a few perks: ship maps, being able to communicate with shipmates, step by step directions, pre-boarding, tracking shipmates and seeing the schedule. But, the negatives outweigh the things that do work well. Needs Fixed: - There are no notifications so you have to constantly check PrincessCruises to see if someone you’re cruising with sent you a message. - Spa appointments don’t appear on your daily schedule. - Restaurant and bar open and closing times are missing. - Shore excursions take a long time to load. - The schedule on PrincessCruises doesn’t always match the schedule that’s provided each night. - It’s difficult to find some info. Such as seeing all the events at a specific venue. It’s there, but you have to navigate through several steps to find it and it’s not always accurate. I’m hopeful that it’ll be updated as time goes on.

Princess, you have to get an actual app developer that is good at their job. PrincessCruises is completely worthless. It glitches, logs you out and won’t allow you to log back in. It’s slow and it doesn’t even come close to letting you do all that it purports that you can do.
Ordering on PrincessCruises won’t let you order food and drinks the way you want them. And it’s so irritating. You cannot use it to find places on the ship or to even show you your schedule as it leaves our excursions and times for things.
You can do better! I can’t wait to see what you come up with—but please hire an app designer that is really into it!

So I tried reloading after people said a new version was out. Again I can’t login. I tried the forgot password link which had me login again. This time it took me to the website on iPhone. I board this coming weekend and don’t expect a working version before the cruise is over. The newer PrincessCruises , the harder it is to transact any business with it.

I am unable to link fellow travelers’ reservations within PrincessCruises in order to link dining. A fabulous cruise line such as Princess should have better IT and bandwidth to supper PrincessCruises .

PrincessCruises is frustrating and a total disappointment. I have been cruising for over 30 years, but last October was my first Princess cruise. I was skeptical at first but ended up loving it. So we’ve booked with Princess again this summer. One of the main things I liked was PrincessCruises (the old version). This new version is pretty much useless. I can’t book excursions or spa days. I can’t link with the rest of my party. Not sure why Princess threw out a good app for this one.

Why did they change it? It’s slow. I’m leaving on my cruise today and it’s been one day ahead, which is frustrating. Scheduling things has been a pain - ie, spa services. It’s been easier to log on the the website. The other app never did that. There are also other bugs they need to work out. I hope it’s not this bad once I’m on the cruise.

PrincessCruises , both on the iPhone and on PC, is awful. I can only hope that the actual cruise experience is far superior than PrincessCruises experience. To the extent Princess touts their medallion technology, so far that boast is unfounded. Specifically regarding PrincessCruises : 1. Very slow response time. 2. One of the least intuitive interfaces. 3. to make dinner reservations, you need to check each date individually. That’s a time-consuming and onerous process. 4 . Ordering a medallion before the cruise is mandatory. However, that part of PrincessCruises did not function. Even during an online chat, the representative could not fix it. This is our first princess cruise and so far, we are quite disappointed.

I’ve read the previous reviews so I’m not going to repeat all. My wife and I have traveled on Princess before and after the introduction of PrincessCruises . I see benefits to PrincessCruises but the negatives out way the positives. When you order the medallion we experienced the same as many others. PrincessCruises confirms you did then comes back and says you didn’t. When we called in to princess 10 days prior to cruise they confirmed we did and would ship immediately. That they did do, just in time. When we looked at what time we were to board ship we never got a time. When we got to port to board ship a line was starting to form. By the time we boarded you couldn’t see the end of the line. Reason, nobody that we talked to knew when they were suppose to board. PrincessCruises is not intuitive or user friendly as many have already commented on. On this past cruise I tried ordering drinks a number of times and finally got tired of waiting and got it my self. The list goes on and on.
While the new app seems to be an upgrade over the old app, PrincessCruises crashes constantly. It also doesn’t save your username and password so you have to log in every time you open it, which is often with the crashes.

This “ new and improved” Princess app is a big step backward on both my iPads. It does not scale to full screen, leaving a 2/3 window in the middle of the screen with giant fonts and essentially unusable. PrincessCruises Store description claimed compatibility with both my iPads, both running iOS 17.1.2. The previous Princess Medallion app expands to full screen, seems to have adequate functionality, and will continue to be used by me until killed by PrincessCruises developer.

Ok there are some pluses for this new app but it isn’t quite there yet! I was able to look at the times that were entered for me for dinner for us - that was nice, but when I went to look at another area it told me my session was timed out and it asks me for my password. Again! Why? That is a pain that I have to keep inserting my password all over again.
Princess fix PrincessCruises so that it works! I don’t want to have to keep putting in my password again and again!!!!
PrincessCruises is almost worthless. For starters it’s slow and does not always save your data. Then there’s a website which does not synchronize well. If at all with PrincessCruises on top of that you think your cruise would show up immediately when you log in and it would be easy to find things which it’s not, PrincessCruises has a long way to go before it’s actually super useful

One thing that I find very annoying is that there is no way to see where or what type of food is currently available. You used to be able to look and see what was open now. Even if I call up a menu for a restaurant it doesn’t tell me if the restaurant is currently open. That needs to change.
Ocean Now delivery does not work. Food is ordered and never delivered.

PrincessCruises is a sluggish, always logging me out each day I’m on the cruise. Doesn’t show my correct status with the cruise line. But one major error with app is it doesn’t show the time the ship leaves port or the all - aboard time. This should be clearly evident as it’s a very important piece of information. I asked someone at customer service to show me the all aboard time on PrincessCruises …. They could not find it. They said it used to be on the old version of PrincessCruises . Even if every other feature of PrincessCruises worked well, not having the all aboard time is unacceptable.

Just became available today - Dec 27th. I do not like the way I need to access my 2nd booked cruise. Needing to remember or look up the booking numbers is not convenient.

They bury the simple things you need under multiple layers of other things, it is not as simple as the old app was! if I can, I'll stick with the old app as long as I can it was easier!

PrincessCruises itself I think is designed well, but there are issues. The ordering can be hit or miss, sometimes it doesn’t go through to the servers or your location is not available. Service should be available pretty much anywhere on the ship. The extremely long waiting times are also awful but not sure who that falls on. There needs to be a breakdown for packages too. For example we had a drink package yet can’t see what was ordered or where. Several times there were a lot extra charges and we had to go to guest services because PrincessCruises shows nothing. Its also just slow and glitchy.

I was thinking PrincessCruises would now support showing dining, spa and shore excursions in the ‘my journey’ section. I do like that the muster station is clearly shown. No improvement wit port guides, still can’t download most of them as in the old app. The ones you can download are very out of date. I also like that the countdown is shown in days rather than days hours minutes. The day count always threw me off on the old app.

Check your casino points and or rating
View maintenance requests and status
Show alerts for spa appointments, bookmarked events, dining and sanctuary times.
Hopefully someone is looking at these.
I want to add that the Medallion feature is the reason I sail with Princess. It’s good as it is but it can be so much more.

I see a lot Of improvements over the old App. My big concern is, we were able to see all our cruises, just by tapping our profile picture in the lower right corner. Now, this new App, we only see the next cruise. It is a pain to have to log in with a booking number for each cruise. We like to see all the cruises and be able to quickly work on them. Give us this enhancement back. Regards

Not only does Princess have the best technology going today, their app is a vital tool that underpins the excellent experience that is the Medallion Class experience. It’s responsive, full featured, and a joy to use. Creating dining reservations and connecting with shipmates are particular highlights. I may have to move on ship just so I can continue to use PrincessCruises all the time.

There are a few quirks, but generally, PrincessCruises is fantastic. I was able to add shipmates to my travel experience and find where they were located in PrincessCruises (location sharing required). Easy to chat with shipmates. Onboard WiFi experience was fantastic. Entire ship map and ship schedule is available via PrincessCruises . Making those paper printouts redundant. Add onboard packages, view your onboard charges, make dining reservations, order room service. It’s amazing. Crew is very helpful through the onboard app support. I don’t know why so many people are giving this a bad rating. The experience so far using PrincessCruises has been most excellent. Probably just a bunch of boomers that don’t know how to navigate the application.

I have been waiting for this new app, and it does not disappoint! I have an upcoming Princess cruise in March and have been using their old app. The design of this new one looks much more modern and is easier to use.
All of my information and dining reservations I previously entered in the old app are showing up accurately in the new one.
I am now even more excited for my cruise now that I have a new app to use. Looking forward to seeing what the onboard app experience looks like!
