New app

Not a fan of not being able to log into my account and see all my bank accounts on the home page, big disappointment. Like the old one better.

Lost daily balance notifications

Since you removed daily balance notifications, that is a tool I used for security of my account. Happened every day without having to remember to check. That was a valuable tool. BRING IT BACK! New app doesn’t seem like an upgrade???

Disappointing

I’m honestly already sick of GreatSouthern. My pending items will show in my account and then an hour later everything is gone and my account is showing an inaccurate account balance and then a day or so later my pending items will be back. I have had my account over 3yrs and have never had so many issues. I’m about ready to just have my checks deposited to cashapp.

Aesthetically pleasing, functionally disappointing

The new app runs faster and looks cleaner. But it has its bugs and problems. First is a nearly constant pop up message stating GreatSouthern had an error loading current balances. Another disappointment is debit card on/off was removed. Third, I’ve pending charges stay pending for up to a week before posting. Fourth, there no longer is a current or available balance shown below pending transfers. I have yet to be overdrawn, but can’t help but think these issues could all be intentional. Every one of them benefits Great Southern by increasing the chances of their customers being overdrawn!

Very disappointing app, from what has been a very disappointing bank.

Hate it

Can’t stand the new app. Don’t like the new format. Not user friendly at all. Lost features. Miss the old one. Also, don’t appreciate all the advertising about how it will be so much better when it’s obviously a downgrade. It looks like somebody cheaped out somewhere in this decision. Nobody likes it-get rid of it or lose customers!

Shut card off and balance notification

I want the option to shut my card off temporarily and it's gone. I also don't get texts in the morning telling me my account balance. There's no option to dispute or report a unauthorized transaction. GreatSouthern is crap. Definitely a downgrade.

Don’t care for the new format

I just used my debit card and wanted to
“Shut off” the card to any further transactions for the night. I’m unable to find a way to do this!
It was simple in the previous format.

Nothing is right

A lot wrong with GreatSouthern. The same button takes you to random areas and the “pending total” is no longer available. The IT department is quick to respond… I miss the old app.

Session timeout using alternative registration

I am logging into the new application and using the alternative method with SSN and account and when I get to the last step with entering email address and mobile number for the security method it gives me a message that my session has timed out. I have tried multiple times with the same result.

Terrible

The new app is terrible. The old one was great. I loved it. But this new version is definitely less user friendly. Since I do all my banking online through GreatSouthern it makes it very frustrating to use. I’m considering changing banks just to find a more user friendly app.

Why??

Please, please, please bring back the morning balances text messages. The new app is nice, but without my favorite feature, I’d rather have the old one back

Okay

Aesthetically, the new app is a great upgrade from the old.
However, I am seriously disappointed in the removal of the debit on / off feature, as well as the updates to the transaction notifications.
This provides limited options when needing to secure our accounts outside of business hours.

The new app will allow you to configure transaction alerts to be sent, but these notifications provide no value adding information other than the fact a transaction happened and its dollar value. Previously, we had notifications that would say who the transaction was with. Inevitably allowing for faster reaction times if in the event we did not recognize a charge. With the new notifications you would need to open GreatSouthern each time. Along with this, all of the alerts are mixed in with the messages now, which cause the user to have to dig through the messages to find a reply from the GSB support team. Overall these updates diminish the user experience.
I am hoping updates come soon to either restore or optimize these previous features, which essentially were not broken.
Otherwise, we may consider working more heavily with our other banking services which offer features such as these.

Acct balance updates

I really miss the account balance update. I would receive a text message in the morning at 6:30 before I would go to the hospital. While at the hospital, I had no cell service I relied on those account balances so that when my husband called me, I needed to make a big purchase. I was able to tell him there’s plenty in the account. I will now I have to find an area to get cell service or go outside the hospital in order to look up my account balance. It also gave me peace of mind, knowing I had enough in there, for when my automatic bills were paid. I’m very disappointed this feature is gone. Please consider adding this feature back on the new app.

Entering pin vs pw

I felt more secure entering in my pw at log in rather than the new the PIN number. And it’s annoying to be logged out instantly when I change screens on my iPhone to utilize my calculator. Maybe that can be changed in settings and I haven’t figured that out yet? Also if a pin is required at log in it would be more secure against hackers if it was a six digit pin vs four. That’s why I rated the new app 3 stars.

Good, but…

I miss the automatic capture feature on the mobile deposit of the previous app and I hope you’ll add it back. Also, I don’t like having to make two taps to get into see my transactions when previously one tap would get me there. Otherwise, I think this is a good update. I don’t like it, though, when features that were previously available are removed. Why take away features?

I’m really happy with the new app. The landing page is full of great information.

Deposits are smooth as the camera app is very responsive! Great work GS IT folks!

Not bad

I like the new app and the functionality but miss the amount of information provided from the previous version in notifications and the account summary being available as soon as GreatSouthern opened. Notifications when the transaction occurs is nice but they are delayed and the old version at least gave me an idea of where the transaction happened. Now I got an entire days worth of notification all at once with no idea where the cards was used and causes a bit of stress the old app eased.

I always appreciate the staff @ the Neosho, MO facility. Each employee is very helpful to my needs, as I’m an amputee. My concerns, & business needs are their priorities towards my limited capabilities @ times. And, I’m truly grateful for each kindness they help me to not feel judged any less as a person doing my banking business. A huge Thank You for all of them…😊💕

BEST UPGRADE

The home screen has everything, and you can customize how you view your accounts.
Whether you want them displayed separately (swipe to see next) or expanded (see multiple accounts at once.) I also like how you can easily see account info and details when you click into each account. It's very easy to navigate, and I like not having to search through the side bar menu.

The new App layout is by far greater than the old one.
Every bit of information about the accounts is available at ease.
It’s well developed and well organized.

Top notch! From the bank manager at my local branch knowing who I am when I visit the lobby to the customer service representatives online always having the correct answers. Great Southern Bank is an Oasis of relief from a customer service dessert of indifference. Thanks to all your employees!

The staff is friendly and helpful. I love the ease of GreatSouthern and customer service. Plus their protection and fraud alert has saved me more than once! I left my bank of 16 years due to an increasing amounts of insufficient funds and over draft fees, that I couldn’t get away from. I haven’t had this issue once, since switching to Great Southern, over 10 years ago. Highly recommend!
