Has potential

2024-05-31

App idea and interface has potential. For me, Bevel kept quitting on me both on the watch and on the phone when I would be setting up a workout. I decided to delete Bevel when it quit in the middle of a workout and I lost all my progress. I also find it very difficult to set up a workout and be able to edit once a workout has started, the only way to edit the workout is on the watch which can be inefficient. It would be cool if it could sync workouts from other apps, such as Fitbod that way there is no need to create a workout when a user is already paying another app for a workout. May try it out again in 6 months. Definitely not worth paying for right now.

decent, but more expensive and worse copycat

2024-06-12

it’s like twice the cost of athlytic, but the features are far worse, maybe 1/4 the features and twice the price, so 1/8 value.. the apple watch complications are eyesores. I do appreciate that the iOS app is pretty clean and minimal, but overall it’s definitely not worth $60.. happy to pay for athlytic and autosleep and call it a day

Compared to Whoop…

2024-09-11

So, I have Whoop and the metrics are way off. My sleep, strain, and recovery rings aren’t the same as whoop and make no sense. The even the cals burned are about 20 off even though my Apple Watch says 20 less and my Whoop has it 300 less. But, understand, Apple restarts their stats after midnight whereas Whoop restarts when you wake up for the day. So I’m unsure how this app does theirs but there metrics are off base even if they’re taking data from both Apple and Whoop. Weird. But, it’s a nice app and if they got that fixed, I’d use it again.

Incredible recovery tracking

2024-05-23

Amazing for recovery and sleep tracking, miles ahead of any comparable app I've seen within Bevel Store thus far. However, the workout section is a bit lacking. I currently use Strong premium, but I really want to switch to this because it just offers so much more. If there was a way to add custom exercises and designate "warmup sets", "super sets" (lol), and "drop sets", this would be an absolute winner. Cannot wait to see what this team does with this, I think with improvements to the workout tracking section as described it will put all other fitness apps to shame. Don't sleep on this!

Fantastic

2024-07-27

This application is one day going to be immensely powerful. At release time it is missing some features such as more in-depth health metric analysis (see HealthFit and Whoop) but is clearly in the right direction with one of the most accurate recovery scores I've seen so far. Keep up the fantastic work and don't loose steam!

Great functionality Easy to use

2024-07-27

I’ve been a whoop user for 3+ years. I wanted to swap out my whoop for an Apple Watch for convenience and was so glad to find this Superset app. Very similar to whoop but on your watch and considerably cheaper. Love this. Constantly updating. Developer is active on Reddit and email and adjusts Bevel according to the community requests.

The app every Apple Watch owner needs

2024-07-27

This is the first app that has made me feel like I can fully unlock my body using the data from my Apple Watch. Apple Health has been the same crappy design for years and then this came along and i finally feel like my watch is useful again.

So far - Excellent

2024-07-27

I am an Athlytic app user. That app is great, but I’m starting to like Superset more. The new beta feature of weight training is perfection on the Apple Watch. That was an excellent addition. I appreciate that the developer is making the strain and recovery metrics as holistic and inclusive of as many data points as possible, all while keeping the UI extremely simple.

Game changer!

2024-07-27

Superset is a game changer! I have often wanted a whoop but didn’t want to give up my AW. Bevel takes the place! It’s intuitive, nicely designed and feature packed! As a beta tester I have been using the metrics to design my activity for the day and it has been just right!

Great Fitness/Health App

2024-07-27

I’ve tried a lot of fitness/health apps available (Athlytic, GentlerStreak, Training Today and Chipr) and this by far is my favorite. I find the data presented in Superset is both deep and intuitive. The complications for the Apple Watch are very helpful too, much better than the competition.

Outstanding app. Beat Athlytic. And I bet Apple is going to steal this one

2024-07-27

I was an early tester of this app, and had been using Athlytic. In the last couple of months, I’ve removed Athlytic, and now this app is the only one I need. The developer is very responsive and experienced.

Fitness Coach with results

2024-07-27

I have been using Bevel since its first public release in January 2024 and all other fitness coaching apps have been deleted and subscriptions canceled.
this app continues to get better and better with each update that is released!
Is it accurate? I feel that it is.
If you have a low recovery score, you can feel it! If you have a high recovery score, it’s a game on day!!
The developers are doing a great job with Bevel and are willing to help you out if you have issues.

Bevel has quickly become my favorite Health Apl

2024-07-27

I have been a long time user of Oura, however as the life of my battery started to decline (down to 2 days) I went in search of a replacement. I have been using this app for a couple of months now and can’t imagine living without it.

For the way I use both apps (there are a lot of features that I don’t use regularly), following is quick compare/contrast:

- For REM and Deep sleep the two apps are directionally similar. Not sure which one is more accurate.
- There is a LOT more movement in the this app sleep score, which I like. My Oura sleep score tends to be in a narrow range which makes it less useful.
- There is even more variability with the this app Recover score vs. Oura’s Readiness score. I find that this app is way more in line with how I feel.
- this app has a Strain recommendation (how hard you should work out that day) based on your sleep/recover, which I find very useful. This has helped to reduce the amount I over train.
- this app tracks your stress throughout the day. I consider myself having very low stress however I have learned that the stress from some of my workouts stays with me throughout the day.
- My wife got sick and all of the this app scores I have mentioned above enabled her to be smart about her recovery and getting back to training.

With Oura I really like the Heart Rate graph and the HRV graph, neither of which currently exist within this app (though they are on the feature request list).

This is the Health app you are looking for

2024-07-27

Truly wellness at mind is what Bevel is for.

Metrics to back it up. Are you recovered? Recovery over time? Stress over time. It’s got it all. The best health and wellness app that Apple should’ve had built right into the Apple Watch all along.

To the developer… keep up the work there is more to do but the data from Apple Watch is all there. The direction is good.

What I’ve been waiting for!

2024-07-27

Finally I can just wear my Apple Watch and get an incredible read on my health! Bevel is beautiful and easy to use and includes all the features I enjoy from other fitness apps like strain, training load, stress, recovery, etc. I can’t wait to see how this continues to improve since it’s already way better than the others

The true Whoop alternative

2024-07-27

If you want to ditch your whoop or you’re torn between this and a whoop then just get superset!
Better design, works with Apple Watch really well, and still has stress monitor and strength training strain.
Developer is super responsive and fixes any issues promptly as well as releases new features quickly and while remaining stable.
Highly recommend Bevel for recovery, sleep and strain!

My go-to app every morning!

2024-07-27

I was originally introduced to Bevel a few months ago as a beta tester. I have been using it daily since then and always make it my go-to app when I wake up in the morning. I have used competitor apps in the past, and this one is way easier to understand and has a clean look. I love that it syncs with Apple Health and doesn’t need to store information on external servers. I changed the setting from RMSSD (default) to SDNN and found it to reflect more accurately to how I feel. Bevel is new and growing quickly. So checkout their website to get a peek at what’s coming. The monthly fee is a bit more than competitors, but the annual fee is worth it!

Better than Whoop!

2024-07-27

I used whoop for over a year before switching to this app. This provides more useful data and is constantly being updated! I feel like accuracy is similar, but somehow the presentation of the data makes it feel more actionable. It’s more obvious how different activities impact my recovery or strain. Very cool! Love the battery feature and cardio load, and new Biology section!

Been testing this app for a while

2024-07-27

I have been testing Bevel for a few months and been loving the experience. In the past I have used both Garmin and Whoop and enjoyed the data and analysis they provide. The developer on Bevel has been wonderful in responding to requests and questions as well as making adjustments to Bevel as needed. I look forward to future features and adjustments knowing how dedicated this developer is. Great app!!!!

Great for fitness readiness

2024-07-27

For ones looking for alternative to Garmin, Polar, or Suunto level fitness and training monitoring on Apple Watch, there are in my opinion two apps come close (not so close but ok): Superset and Athlytic. I hope more and more people use; Bevel has a great potential. Wish we had this kind of functionality in Apple Watch itself that we pay hundreds of dollars for. Apple should bundle their watches with apps like Superset (and give percentage to app developers).

Overall Bevel is one of the golden ones that represents data in a very intuitive way. Thanks tons to the makers.

So far, Amazing

2024-07-27

I’ve compared this to the obvious AW completion (Athlytic) which I have used for a couple of years and it’s incredibly similar and better in many ways. I still think it has some time to go and I see the improvements being made which gives me more of a reason to stick around. I’ve also compared this to whoop, my Garmin Epix Pro and the oura ring and it’s on par with all those three when compared directly to each.
Great job!

Great and Useful App

2024-06-15

Bevel is incredibly useful for tracking my sleep and workouts! I think that the numbers are incredibly accurate compared to other apps and it really helps me plan my day.

The Apple Watch Recovery App We’ve Been Waiting For!

2024-06-15

This is the first review I’ve ever done on Bevel Store. I have been waiting several months to use Bevel. I am very impressed with the level of detail the developers have spent on app!

Simple yet elegant

2024-06-29

I test a lot of health and wellness apps. Superset is by far one of the best in terms of the clean user interface, ease of navigation, and the use of easy to understand insights.

Kudos to Grey for pushing out frequent updates and taking all user feedback seriously.

So if you want a solid contender to Whoop and would otherwise rather wear an Apple Watch, then Superset is for you.

Tried many of them and love Bevel

2024-08-30

I’ve used Athlytic, Gentler Streak and now this app and like this app’s UI the best. Athlytic has more data that I didn’t use, and this app is more complete than GS.

I do still use GS’s superior watch app for my workouts as the heart rate zones are clearly readable. Wish this app would improve the watch app.

Incredible app and exciting vision

2024-08-30

I’ve tried practically every fitness gadget and app on the market e.g. Whoop, Oura, Fitbit…you name it. I have a high bar for fitness apps because I use them multiple times a day, and I don’t want to spend time navigating ugly, buggy and hard to use UI. Bevel not only delivers above and beyond anything I’ve tried, it does so with a meticulous attention to detail that really shows. There are still some kinks to iron out, but that’s hardly worth noting for an app out publicly for only a few months. I’m really excited by the direction and potential of Bevel! Keep up the great work.
