The ad I saw for this on Twitter gives the impression that the user can choose what they want changed and what they want it changed to. It shows the walls being highlighted (presumably by the user—it looks like a finger is tracing the area) then choosing a new paint color, the floor being highlight and changed to different flooring, etc. But that’s not actually what happens at all in HomeDecor. Instead, after you upload an image of a room, HomeDecor generates a whole new room, without any input from the user except what budget the user has and whether or not they want to DIY build any furniture. I picked $500 (the lowest option) and no DIY furniture. I never got the opportunity to tell HomeDecor if I wanted the walls changed another color, the flooring replaced… Nothing like that. Instead it generated an entirely different room with a whole new fireplace, new flooring, all new furniture…. Nobody is going to be able to do all that for $500! Not only did I have no desire for an entirely new room with every single element from paint color to fireplace to furniture completely replaced, it didn’t even ask me what style I wanted this new room to be in. I’m a home stager and I was hoping I could use HomeDecor to show clients what their room would look like after making some minor cosmetic changes, like wall color. Maybe the pro version is different, but no way I’m paying for it without being able to try those features first (if they even exist).

HomeDecor’s “redesign” is plucking things from an AI generated search of the internet. You can literally do this on Pinterest by looking up ideas. HomeDecor uploaded a photo and didn’t even use the photo. The only application for HomeDecor are cookie cutter designs from apartments and condos where AI generated photos already exist to generalize the owners space. The nicknames for this review such as wasted money and terrible were already taken. Not surprised.

HomeDecor is not good in any way. It won’t let you customize our work with certain furniture in the room. It’s AI is poor and will often times miss place items or create false overlaps or dimensions. It doesn’t help you craft a room at all. It can’t seem to figure out how to fit a table into any space for a dining room, this is a bad app and waste of money

HomeDecor is great if u just need a vision but it’s not great if u want to know what an island would

Like in your kitchen or that you only want white cabinets. Or use standard Lowe’s materials. Maybe I am expecting too much but I feel
Like a few tweaks and HomeDecor would be so valuable and could be free if they used sponsors like Lowe’s or build.com

What ever u do if u add features keep it simple so that people can use right away. Or pay for advanced features

HomeDecor lets you upload a picture of a room and AI will generate a new room with the input and ideas from the user. It then completes a rendered image. No customization is available. I’m disappointed since I paid $39.99 for a pro version (today) that is absolutely the same as the free trial. You can look at different items but are unable to add them to your room…the bubble pops up that says “use pro version for this” basically, so I fell for it. There is no difference in choice, selective changes or customization. Don’t get HomeDecor unless you want to see what AI can generate as a room image only with no alternative. I want my money back.

If you want to move specific structures in your home to consider a remodel, HomeDecor can’t do that. I tried different wording to move cabinets, with specific instructions not to change the finishes or colors, and all it would do was suggest different cabinets entirely. Also almost nothing is included in the free version so you can’t try much.

I have entered more than 50 times for "area renovation" and asked it to add furniture to my pic of an empty room and it had added furniture ZERO times. Yes, I add the PROMPT each time with no furniture added at all!

I paid for the pro version in hopes to add different counter tops into a kitchen or see different bedroom set ups and I could do any of that! My only option was to add different floors or wall colors to rooms! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE I DID!

Can’t plug in color choices . I don’t know how to use it. Spent 39$ for a very useless app. And no help whatsoever! And now I can’t review because you won’t accept my nickname!!!! Yeah right!!!!

I bought HomeDecor before closing on my and my husbands forever home. I very much wanted to love HomeDecor and have given it two weeks to “grow on me”. It hasn’t. The “Pro” version is a waste of money. HomeDecor in general is a waste of space. If you have a specific idea for a room and want a loose visual of that specific idea before actually committing it to, this is *not* HomeDecor for that. If you have no specific idea and want a random AI generator to spit random ideas out, this *is* HomeDecor for that.
Unfortunately, I am looking for the first case. To give an example: I asked for the AI to “Paint the lower kitchen cabinets black. Make the upper kitchen cabinets stained wood.” The AI generated all black kitchen cabinets. I went through almost all the styles and not a single one yielded what I asked for. So then I asked the AI to “Paint the lower kitchen cabinets a dark color. Paint the upper kitchen cabinets a light color.” I still didn’t get the image I wanted. The closest I got was dark uppers and light lowers. Save your money and get a different app.

It will not give you any decoration ideas! I will just paint/edit the picture you uploaded. What a waste of money :(
Do not buy it. It will not design anything.

Lack of flexibility. Staging need to be more realistic. Age and style of remodel need to be more consistent with reality. Not nice to change a closet into a window or garden.
