a nightmare app featuring terrible translations as usual

translation option (singular as in only one) is awful and clunky. translations must be turned on or off at the idol main post but there’s no option for fan-to-fan translations. what’s the point of reading the idols’ responses if you don’t know what the original poster wrote?
and i don’t know what version of google translate is being used but it’s also outdated and over 75% incorrect. the most embarrassing of all is that you can turn the translation off and click the “see more” link at the bottom and it will bring you to google translate’s website to paste the text and it actually translates correctly.
let’s not mention how there’s no explanation of how long the texting character limit will be too low to get a decent thought across to compensate for the translation failures. and the fact mnet has the AUDACITY to charge MORE than the bubble subscription. embarrassing; their app design and engineering team should be embarrassed.
any positive attributes are ruined by the fact you can’t navigate PlusChat easily at all. the “back” button option is worthless since no matter what page you open, if you need to go back it sends you to the previous pages infinitely, even if you stopped by the homepage after each article.

Awful - 0 stars if I could

Awful awful app and service. There is a rampant troll problem with hate comments on this platform that must be addressed. It seems once a comment is reported a certain amount of times the content is finally automatically removed, but that doesn’t stop the commenter from commenting the same thing again and again and again incessantly. This negates the utility of reporting at all if spammers can take control of the comment section rather than fans. There must be better screening to prevent this or perhaps a limit on how many comments a user is allowed to post daily. PlusChat itself is also buggy and hard to use. I don’t recommend using PlusChat or paying for their soon to be added (and completely untested) in-app services until these issues are fixed, and I also expect the newly added artist chat service will bring a whole new host of issues. Please prioritise the safety and mental health of your artists as well as provide transparency about the new service and where payments go if you’d like to actually see fans enthusiastic about using PlusChat.

Bad translation, lots of lag, no incentive to stay subscribed

The translation is literally awful. It’s so inaccurate that in order to understand anything (as a non-fluent international user), you literally have to copy and paste messages into Papago. Boo, tomato tomato.

On top of that, it’s got lag issues.

On top of THAT, PlusChat requires a LOT of clicks (with an embarrassing amount of latency between) to get to that “chat” function that’s literally in the name.

Artist > (lag) > chat tab > (lag) > select a chat > (heinous amounts of lag) > finally see the chat.

Seeing as Bubble is right there to copy off of and actually works, you’d think this dupe would work, too. :/

The lag and awful translation are the key flaws. But, as a side note, being able to send a lot of super short messages isn’t a great incentive for keeping a subscription (for comparison, Bubble makes it clear that the longer you stick around, the longer your individual message becomes, which is a great incentive to keep your sub).

As it is, why would I want to keep a service that I:

- literally can’t read
- doesn’t give me any perks for keeping up with the subscription
- barely works

Translations

The translation is AWFUL and desperately needs fixing. Why am I paying 4usd a month to not even really understand what my idol is saying? I understand translating will always be somewhat wonky but the translation should at least be inferable through context clues. This is just bad

By

Fix your translations

The translation system is horrible, and with me having to go out of PlusChat to try and translate it to something close it takes away from the time I get to have to chat with my idol. And by the time I’m done translating he’s gone.

WORST APP EVER

You need to add a feature where accounts that violate community guidelines more than 2 times get their account suspended. You’re just allowing artists to receive hate with no repercussions

By

Please fix this

Every time I open it, it closes immediately

no

too bad…

Serious changes need to be made to this app.

I really love having the opportunity to connect with my favorite idols and getting to share precious memories with them, but the way that PlusChat is functioning as of now is fostering a extremely harmful environment for both the idols and fans.
A major issue with PlusChat is the lack of a report user button. There are many users with malicious intent targeting these idols with massive amounts of hate comments, and PlusChat is enabling this behavior by allowing these users to continuously post without any major repercussions. Even when users report these harmful comments, these users are still able to continue spamming more harmful comments. Therefore, there needs to be harsher restrictions implemented against users who continuously post harmful comments towards the idols for the sake of fostering a more positive environment for the users and for the idols. It has gotten severe to the point where the idols themselves have had to speak up against the massive hate that they receive on their own platforms.
So, I strongly urge the developers of PlusChat to take into consideration the safety and wellbeing of both the users of PlusChat and the idols who post on this platform by implementing stronger security measures and a report user function in order to create a more positive environment for us all. Thank you.

Poor content moderation allows abuse to user, artists

PlusChat has almost no effective moderation features that could prevent target abuse and harassment campaigns. Talent is regularly harassed on this platform while nothing happens to prevent it. We need serious changes including banning malicious words and phrases, delete accounts of users engaged in harassment, and even block their IP address so they can no longer make any new accounts in the future. There should also be a cooldown period between comments on member posts to avoid spam and abuse. This changes could really improve the safety for users and talent. Otherwise PlusChat is pointless and only creates a toxic unsafe space.

Very poorly made and managed

PlusChat is just an absolute disaster. There’s no feature in place to moderate any malicious and hateful posts that people make toward the idols who use it to speak to fans. As a user, I have seen my favorite k-pop idols address MULTIPLE times how these hateful and damaging posts have hurt them. This lack of a moderation or filtering feature is not to be taken lightly. This can damage the mental health of real people. Furthermore, the translation feature is not accurate. Please fix your app! I don’t want to pay for something that I believe is a bad product.

By

LACK OF ARTIST PROTECTION

PlusChat is meant for fans to support and interact with the idols they like. However there is no actual moderation. There are hundreds to thousands of hateful comments being sent to artist without repercussions. There needs to be more moderation and security in PlusChat . Let only those who pay for the artist subscription comment on their public post. Remove accounts leaving hate. And suspend accounts spamming under one comment section within the span of a day.

By

stronger moderation NEEDED

Mnet must take decisive action by deactivating accounts of users found to be engaging in targeted harassment of members of groups, and blocking their IP addresses to prevent them from creating new accounts to continue this behavior. An effective filtration system must also be created and block clearly harmful language.

By

buggy

PlusChat constantly lags and crashes when you use it…also the word filters aren’t working lots of malicious words still get shared. And the translation isn’t the best

By

APPLY THESE MEASURES TO PLUS CHAT

The same standards should be applied to the Mnet Plus chat feature. Users who post harmful messages should have their accounts deactivated, their IP addresses blocked, and they should be prevented from subscribing again.

By

IMPLEMENT ROBUST COMMENT FILTRATION

We urge Mnet Plus Chat to develop and implement a more effective filtration system that automatically blocks comments containing harmful language, including words like [write examples].

By

Unsafe for artists

Hate is not blocked or censored and artists keep being harassed on a platform that should be protected.
