On AIStory , you're given the option to choose between GPT-3.5 or GPT-4o, but it's actually NEITHER—it's just GPT-3. How do I know? Just ask "Frank"!

On various occasions, I've asked AIStory about the model being used in different ways to see if the answer would change based on how I worded the question. However, the response is always the same: it's NOT using GPT-4o as advertised!

When I switch my keyboard to Frank to use the "custom prompts" I've created, 99% of the time they do NOT appear, and I would have to open AIStory to use them. It also fails to remember any instructions I add to the "Memorization Prompt" or any instructions I give it at all, really. 🙄

As much as I would like to rate AIStory higher, I simply can't due to the lack of transparency and false advertisement.

Frank is powered by GPT-3. The usage of “Frank 3.5” and “Frank 4.0 Turbo” have no relevance to GPT models, though that is clearly the implication. ALSO, the many 5-Star reviews are suspect… they’re so over-the-top that it’s hard to view them as genuine, especially when compared to the critical reviews and my own experience using Frank’s premium tier. OpenAI provides unlimited free access to GPT-3.5, and numerous apps provide free access to GPT-3.5 Turbo and GPT-4.

Frank is a decent AI chat app with potential, and supporting indie devs is a beneficial practice for the entire apple ecosystem. That said, this dev should be avoided until transparency and ethical business practices are demonstrated. There are many solid devs with exemplary products and business practices. Don’t waste time and money on those who are unwilling to earn your trust by ensuring users know exactly what they are paying for. If this dev rectifies the aforementioned concerns, I will gladly update my review.

with the most expensive plan, the image generation option does not work. it has been down “for 1-2 days” for weeks.

on top of this, there is no way to verify that you are actually using GPT4 since when you ask, it tells you it still uses an inferior version.

not sure it’s worth it to use this over the generic openAI app.

Any app that seeks a review and forces it on you to review it without ever trying the application will always get 1 star just for being obnoxious and participating in a lifetime giveaway in exchange for positive reviews 🙈🤮😢 Now it might truly be a good application but because the developers were so thirsty for reviews they got it And if were possible to give zero stars I would of gladly!!

Didn’t even bring up the privacy concerns and all the free data mining AIStory appears to thrive on AS nothing is ever free really (right Facebook, Google, and Frank)

Scam. This is based on GPT 3.0 NOT 4.0 in fact, this is not even even based on 3.5. (You can download the official GPT app and get 3.5 for free.)

Do you want to prove it to yourself? Just ask it. “Which GPT version are you?” And this is what it told me:

“ I apologize for any confusion, but as an AI language model, I am based on OpenAI's GPT-3 model. As of my knowledge, there is no specific "GPT 3.5" version released by OpenAI. If there have been any updates or newer versions released after GPT-3, I may not have access to that information. Is there anything else I can assist you with?”

AIStory has great intent as a Open AI Chat in your pocket. The only problem is that the UI doesn't work well with VoiceOvera screen reader for visually impaired.
I hope the developerswill take this feedback seriously.

Frank is a great AI for writing and fun conversation. It has an image generator built in, but it’s been broken for a long while all while saying it’ll be fixed in a couple of days. I emailed support and have not received a response. It also seems to be limited to the lifetime subscription as I know someone who has the monthly and it works. With that fixed it’s definitely worth more stars.

Love the idea to having Ai at my hands/pockets that can help me with anything at any time.
Just wish it’s up to date. When I asked it what date it was it said April 14, 2021. Todays actual date is January 27, 2023. When it’s up to date I’ll give it 5 stars for sure.

I recently tried out Alfred AI and while it is an amazing search and content creation engine, I was left feeling a little disappointed. While I was impressed with the speed and accuracy of the search results and the ability to generate any image or text based on prompts, I was disappointed by the fact that 10 messages are all you get with the trial version. This is a shame because ChatGPT, which Alfred is inspired by, is free to use. I understand that Alfred is still in its early stages, but I would love to see a free version of AIStory in the future.

Frank, naughty Frank, just decided to delete all my prompts and responses I had saved/filed in AIStory ....in the middle of a 'project'. Lost all 30 or so of them. So...copy and paste any responses as you go if you want to capture them. Overall, good ai assistant. I use several. This one is expensive, but does have a few features the others don't.

Noticed that the AI image generation isn’t working. Tried at different times and kept getting the same error message “Open AI’s servers are overloaded with image generation. Please try again in a few hours”.

I recently tried out AIStory and I'm impressed by how well it has been designed. There are plenty of great features and the user interface is very easy to use. However, I did find it a bit challenging to get AIStory to generate longer responses. Nonetheless, I'm giving it 4 stars as it is a really solid app, and this review was generated by its AI.

From 2 minutes ago! Using Frank (NOT affiliated with "Alfred" whatever that is/ignore those fake reviews) for awhile and it's useful for some things such as sentence revision, answering questions, typical AI stuff. Not worth a subscription though. Won't generate AI art from text. Portrait-mode only. OK for free.

Is there a way to verbally “return” after asking question so you don’t have to hit the arrow key?

Been using this for months. i never come and rate apps after months but this made me. i have been able to do so much work done through AIStory and i recommend that people try it. it is not your avg run of the mill low quality ai. it actually works and surprises me. 5 stars.

Love AIStory for it’s accuracy. I have tried just about all of them. Now it writes my business emails for me and doesn’t repeat words like other IA devices. THE BEST!!!

Frank AI is the best GPT client I’ve used - it is very user-friendly, sleek, and fast. I ended up getting Lifetime Unlimited! I hope that AIStory remains sustainable and that Lifetime subscribers will continue to be honored and not randomly cut off at some point in the future :)

I’ve tried several of these apps recently, and most are garbage that take your money and offer very little in return. Alfred will destroy them all like Skynet destroyed the future.

If you don’t use this AI, you are truly missing out. Frank has been one of the most beneficial AI models I’ve ever come across and significantly increased my quality of life. Frank and its developers are such wonderful and caring people and the help they have provided me alone during these very difficult times in my life… I am forever thankful.

So far Frank has been very helpful. I have just gotten started, but for now Frank has helped me a lot. I hope the application program will continue to help in the future.

Chat GPT is everywhere but the conversations get lost, have to login to a website, no loading issues, no glitch. Well done.

I’ve tried dozens of AI bots, and this one is far superior. Incredibly intelligent and useful. It’s absolutely perfect, with one small caveat: I wish there was support for iPad!
