Difficult to download App

I usually don't have trouble installing Apps but I had a terrible time attempting to install the Sharp Healthcare App. It took me 4 days to successfully download SharpHealthCare , but unlike the other App, the new version is extremely difficult to navigate. In fact, I was so frustrated I used obscenities for my Password to reflect my frustrations.

Whyyy

Why would you revamp an app that worked fine? SharpHealthCare has no new mail notifications I have to just click on it to see if there is anything new, there is no way to upload documents for my doctor to view, all of my health information is no longer available this has just been a complete hassle I’m not the doctor I should not have to input all of this information when it was already in follow my health, everything should have been transferred over with this so called upgraded app !!!! Please make a way to upload documents to SharpHealthCare for doctor to view immediately! One frustrating experience and frustrated patient!!

Terrible. Healthcare is a joke in this country.

You spend 20 minutes on hold waiting to speak to someone to book an appointment hearing how great SharpHealthCare is for booking appointments. Finally you realize there are no human operators any more so you try SharpHealthCare , only to find every doctor requires you to call to make an appointment.

I hate SharpHealthCare , hire more phone operators.

Don’t believe the fake 5 star reviews

SharpHealthCare is a huge step down from Follow My Health. Hard to locate reports on past office visits. When I used messages to ask my doctor a question the response was not in messages but in Notifications. My list of medications is incomplete. Allergies to medication shows “none” even though I had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic less than one year ago and it was noted on Follow My Health.

RX renewals very difficult to obtain

All of my prescriptions on record have been prescribed for years. The option to renew in SharpHealthCare does not work. All of them are “locked” despite this switch over from the far more efficient Follow My Health. I have to literally send a message to submit my request which is then ignored. Processing time is three days but I still wind up calling my PCP’s office at least twice to get it moving along. Follow My Health processed and sent my RX to my pharmacy the same day. It’s frustrating and disappointing. A patient shouldn’t have to “work” to have their medication.

Terrible app

This is one of the worst apps I have ever used. I click on something and 9/10 times it comes up with an error and try again later. Most of it is unusable. Good thing this isn’t in any way related to anything important. Oh no wait it is. I couldn’t even pay my premium through SharpHealthCare . I had to call and do it over the phone. Thanks for nothing.

The much touted “Sharp Experience” is now a nightmare!

The way SharpHealthCare works - or more accurately doesn’t work - is but one example of how the system-wide recent changes have completely changed every level of experience at Sharp Coronado. Features of SharpHealthCare work on a random basis. Signing in can take 4-5 tries before the very same password you’ve used multiple time finally decides to work. Want to make a Dr. appt.? Don’t be in a hurry as you will need to sign in and go through various prompts and then when you select your provider and try to make an appt, it will send you back to the “sign in” screen so you can do it all again - and again and again. Call them - good luck, nobody will answer and leaving a message doesn’t guarantee a return call. It took me 9 - count ‘em - 9 “loops” before SharpHealthCare finally let me schedule an appointment. I thought “Follow my Health” was bad but this is way beyond bad. I don’t have these problems with Scripps products or other provider systems. Very, very sad!!!

Bad, Just Bad. Redundancy in adding basic info.

Upon creating my profile, I had to enter my basic info multiple times…name, address, birthday, insurance card, and a credit card to remain “on file” Then I scheduled a virtual appointment. After the appt my card was charged even though Medicare pays for virtual appointments so I shouldn’t have been charged. Apparently they use a 3rd party called “Solv.” I mentioned the charge to the PA I spoke to (because it actually charged me before the appointment even ended!) and she said to just respond to the text they sent me. I did. Twice. No response. So I emailed them and am waiting. Meanwhile I’m out $ I didn’t have to spend this week!

Lousy interface on ipad silly same naming creates confusion

The first thing is that SharpHealthCare had the same name as sharp heath plan so if you download the wrong one you’ll spend a lot of wasted time and frustration trying to get access to your sharp account when you should be getting access to your sharp account. I can’t believe that the IT person responsible for this new system didn't think of that, but then common sense is in short supply it seems.

Ugh! Really SRS

FMH was fantastic. “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it”. If you needed to update it to add features then by all means do that, however in this day and age I don’t want to have to have another app. Obviously I need both so I can look at older records if need be. I read the 5 star ratings… are you kidding me??!! They must be from members of the IT team. This new app is not user friendly. My meds list isn’t on here. I can’t message my doctors without calling them first. Are you kidding?! And why oh why does Sharp need access to my Bluetooth tech?? Please go back to FMH.

New Patient

I became a new patient due to Scripps not being available to me. I signed up for Primary Care Dr on January 3rd and the first appointment that was available to me was the end of March.

I took that appointment, and then in February I received a call that the doctor was not available on that day and the next available time I could be seen is mid April.

I tried planning ahead regarding my medication‘s and even getting three months worth from Scripps before I left, I’m now out of several of my medication‘s. Haven’t been seen for five months, and at 81 years old, there are some things I need taken care of.

I’ve been told I could get the same day appointment with possibly the nurse practitioner, it’s over I was not able to do that either.

I’m very frustrated, but still trying to get an appointment sooner.

A Step Backwards

I agree with almost every 1 and 2 star comments others have written. Lost significant medical history, not intuitive, no iPad UI, wrong doctors, lost Rx history, too much digging around to find information, FMH was easier to navigate. If you are a first time user, it might seem fine since you don’t have anything to compare it with. I was expecting great things from the new app, but I am now shocked at what I see. Will it work in the end? Yes, but a big step backwards in my opinion. Come on SRS, you’re better than this. Someone sold you a bill of goods (actually bads).

WORST APP EVER!

I did not receive a letter, announcing the new App. SharpHealthCare is difficult to navigate and was missing several of my specialty Doctors in my profile.

Without a Doctor listed in my profile, I am unable to send messages to said doctor. Instead, you need to call that doctors office, which is a nightmare in itself, and ask them to send you a message, so then you can respond to their message.

Hey SRS why did you find it necessary to reinvent the wheel? No one is jumping for joy over SharpHealthCare. I have several friends who are having multiple difficulties with your new App. Providers as well. A lot of my information, including vaccination records, were not transferred over from Follow My Heath to the Sharp App. So now I am sending that info back to my Provider, so they can add it on to my new profile.

I’m curious, did you run a test test group for this new App? How did that work out for you? I just can’t believe a test group would have no issues like people now were reporting. Do better SRS Tech, do better!

Not ready for wide use

For being a 4+ y-o app, this has a LOT of problems. 3 weeks ago it was forced into use by all Sharp users and I can’t find ANYONE that has ANYTHING good to say about it. Doctor contacts aren’t there, medications prescribed by Sharp aren’t there, immunizations given by Sharp aren’t there, previous appointment dates were changed, new appointments are impossible to make using the new app. My doctor told me to make a nurses appt, but SharpHealthCare doesn’t include the pre-loaded “reason” I need to make this appointment. Overall, a really bad replacement for a previous app that had a few issues. SharpHealthCare solves NONE of those previous issues and adds tons more, making it almost unusable. It is obvious that eventhe SHARP STAFF are having many frustrating issues with this newly mandated app, and can only say politely “the bugs are being worked on” and “it will get better.” Today’s update with “minor bug fixes” is a joke. Since Sharp want to make this their primary interface, I need SharpHealthCare to work now, not wait 5 years until they figure it out.

Data missing

None of my data shows up in SharpHealthCare and not able to compose a new message.

Horrible, juvenile in presentation and use

I did not receive notification of change from FMH. The Sharp ap is juvenile in nature as it’s hard to read and unfriendly to use. My iPad does not show full-screen (mimics size of cell phone, which for me, is way too small). It’s as if Sharp really does not want its patients to utilize their ap. ***Bring back FMH, please. But as with most things, today’s “improvements” are geared towards children. So disappointed.

A Significant Downgrade

It was disappointing to find how much less useful SharpHealthCare was than its predecessor after spending several minutes setting it up. On the plus side, I get to go “old school” and contact my doctor’s office by phone

Inconsistent

While I can understand the need for change and updates, this new app is not an improvement of the previous FMH app. Although trying to navigate through the different sections is not difficult, good luck getting the results/information you’re looking for. I’ve been checking my test results on the Sharp app and one day it would show me what I need, but the next time, I wouldn’t be able to find it. I used to have my eyeglass prescription available but now it’s not showing up. Sometimes when I click on something, it would open the web browser but it would also ask me to view it on SharpHealthCare . Why? If you want me to use SharpHealthCare , then why is the page opening on the browser then telling me to use SharpHealthCare ? The inconsistency and unreliability of SharpHealthCare is frustrating. FMH may have had some issues but it was FAR better than SharpHealthCare. Please make the necessary improvements on SharpHealthCare (or bring back FMH) because so far, it has not been that impressive.

No Sharp Rees Stealy Locations

Where are Sharp Rees Stealy locations. Follow my health had them. Can’t make appointments to any Sharp Rees Stealy locations which are much more convenient locations for me. App was not ready to go without this basic function. Also quite a few of previous appointments done at Sharp Rees Stealy are missing.

Watch out! Don’t use the app to check in.

Be careful! Do not use SharpHealthCare to check in or if you do make sure to also check in with a person. It was my first time using SharpHealthCare to check in. I got a reminder to check in through SharpHealthCare , so I figured that way it was supposed to be done now. But, then I sat there waiting for over half an hour and then when I went up to check on the delay, they said I couldn’t be seen. My appointment had been the last appointment of the day for my doctor; they had already left and thus there was no appointment for me for that day. Then I had to reschedule, super inconvenient. SharpHealthCare needs to be able to sync with the computers at the doctors’ offices. Otherwise this is a complete waste and a waste of people’s time.

Downgrade

From the Follow My Health app where it had every provider you ever saw since being with Sharp listed in the provider portion and could easily message. SharpHealthCare only allows you to connect with your PcP And their “team”. If
You want to contact a specialty doctor you previously had seen, Good Luck. If
You can remember their name or Not, there is no real search function that is available to do so. Luckily I live a mile from my site so i just went down in person to leave a message. Horribly designed and user unfriendly.

New system

This new system gives the patient less access to their physician. Instead of texts goi g to the Doctor’s office and receiving a prompt reply I had to wait two days for a reply. The reply told me to call for an appointment for the next day. The message was sent at 4:00 pm and the offices were already closed. I called first thing next morning and got a recording to leave a number for a call back. No one ever called. I decided to go to urgent care only to find out that I now have to go to the Lake Murray area instead of the convenient Santee location. I also was not able to see my regular doctor. Apparently I now have a team! It took me 3 days to get treatment. Not acceptable!

New Info Alert

Alert should allow you to click on it to go to new info or advise where to go to obtain the updated information. Instead, you have to poke around until you find it.

Also, should allow you to expand text (zoom in) to make it readable. Text is too small in some areas.

Not user friendly.

Problem with appointments

I use SharpHealthCare as a proxy for my infant daughter. I am unable to view her appointments and therefore have an issue with managing then in SharpHealthCare through my iPhone. I have called about this issue multiple times and have gotten the run around. I was told this last time I called that I would get a call back that day. It’s been almost a week and still no call back or resolution. SharpHealthCare itself is very user friendly when managing my own account. But for obvious reasons, I am on my daughters account more often.

Mostly a waste of time

I have seen other opinions similar to mine, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”
My most recent appointment, August 2, 2024, was a surgical procedure at Sharp Mary Birch. I checked in using SharpHealthCare days ahead of time. The answers for the questions are not easily figured because the questions are not always clear. That is problem number 1. Number 2, each time I have shown up for my appointment, including this one, I had to answer all the questions all over again in person! Ridiculous!! Why say this will save time? It does not! Number 3, it is difficult to find current/most recent vital signs! This information was alway at the top if the home page in Follow My Health. Why isn’t it there on this home page. Number 4, messaging is difficult, responses are slow…up to 2 business days for a response. Calling isn’t any more helpful either. We no longer have good access to our physicians and their offices. This is a preview of what is to come. This country used to be the gold standard of healthcare. Not anymore….

Disappointed

SharpHealthCare isn’t even an app. It feels more like a bunch of webpages jerry-rigged together. Very disjointed user experience and too much to navigate. Everything is hard to find. When Sharp upgraded their systems, orders from my doctors weren’t updated with the lab. Very frustrating experience as a patient. I’ve always thought good things about Sharp Healthcare, but the whole data migration and trying to navigate SharpHealthCare is highly disappointing.

Uggh UI

This new app is a mess. UI is overly cluttered and implementation is only halfway done. No watch app. Can’t find my vital history. Redundant Sharp apps. Now I have 3 Sharp apps with different passwords and logins just a confusing mess. It only has 2 of my providers available so I can’t see all of my history.

Follow My Health was clean and simple. This is a perfect example of poor user experience research and an overbuilt app designed for the issuer and not the user. Stick to medicine and next time hire some real software developers instead of trying to integrate an substandard 3rd party app. I avoided UCSD because of their ugly app and now you have it.🙄

Home Screen does not display

Some functionality works in SharpHealthCare . However, the home screen does not display. It displays for 1 second then disappears. So I am unable to schedule new meetings. Unable to configure profile preferences, setup Face ID login and other critical features. I have to either go to website or phone call. I have not figured out all the workarounds.

To troubleshoot, each time I reboot phone and reinstall app, I downgrade rating by one star. Now at two stars. I’ve received message from app support team in response to earlier review. I’ve called the 800 number and was given instructions. Too much time and too much effort to get basic functionality working on SharpHealthCare . The previous app at least worked for me.

Not for iPad

The fact that this uses an iPhone resolution when running on an iPad is very disappointing, and a step backward from FollowMyHealth.

Shame

Fine app, poor implementation by Sharp Healthcare. Nine days after this new app replaced their perfectly-functioning FollowMyHealth, I’m still waiting for my list of doctors to be populated so I can send a message and attachments to my care team. And the message feature is the most hyped in their promos.
Sharp Healthcare doctors and care staff are amazing, but their operations and administration have always been abysmal.

This is a mess

Concur with LSdieter comment. I tried to create a new account as told in SharpHealthCare . It can’t find my old record. Now I have to wait for programmers to answer my email. I tried to call and all I get is a busy signal. So far I’m not impressed. What’s wrong with the old App anyway. I worked great.

Passcode Feature not Available

The previous application, Follow My Health, had a passcode option for logging in. Very convenient. the Sharp app seems to have that option also. You can set a passcode, but nothing happens. You always have to use your lengthy password.

App issues

I thought I was checked in for my appointment because SharpHealthCare said I was. I expected SharpHealthCare to notify Sharp I was there. 10 minutes after my appointment time I asked at the desk if I was shown as checked in. No! Don’t rely on this function. It wasted my time and the doctor’s time. Other functions are ok.

Really a difficult app to use.

Finding information is very complicated, not logically presented of intuitive. No over all recap like previous app. Prior information was badly received, issues with data are very obvious; I.e. medications, prior testing, messages.
I think having medical staff entering data is not an effective strategy!

New app

Too much stuff and hard to find what your looking for . To light hard to see liked follow my health better .

No place to change notifications

I did not receive an initial letter telling me that I had to switch from the previous FollowMyHealth to SharpHealthCare. SharpHealthCare works OK, it was easy to send messages to my doctor. However, I did not receive any notification that my doctor had responded to me. I had initially signed up for the text message and email notifications. There is no place in SharpHealthCare to change those settings nor is there any place on SharpHealthCare to contact someone for help. You change those features, you’ll get five stars from me. In the meantime, I’ll just keep starting SharpHealthCare to see if I have any responses from my docto.

Meh

You can no longer email or save to a file, your previous visit notes. I have Aflac and had no way to attach my records to my claims. What a nightmare

So Much Better

SharpHealthCare / Epic is so much better than fmh, very glad for the transition. App has given me access to medical records I have never seen before which is awesome. Only con is a handful of my docs are now unavailable or were lost. I hope that can be resolved soon.

Overall ok!!

I received a pre anesthesia preop instruction to follow before my surgery. This kind of prep was not mentioned by Dr or nurse at the time of previous appointment, so it caught me by surprise, I felt reluctant to have surgery done due the preop instructions I reviewed on SharpHealthCare . I called the department and they explained to me that the prep was not needed for what I needed to have done. It was an auto populated message that was sent in error and to ignore it, as the issue had been made aware and is being worked on. Much relief on my end (literally!)
I confirmed once more a week later that the prep was not needed and all was good!
Overall SharpHealthCare is very helpful. Makes it easy to have communication with the offices and making appointments. Thank you.

Sharp App

Earlier I sent a scathing review of SharpHealthCare but u did manage to find what I needed. I will change to 5 ⭐️ if everything works out

Intuitive design!

Easy to use and easy to navigate—looks clean and elegant design. Love the location service geofencing and was able to easily schedule my overdue labs based on proximity. Love it!

New app is great

The new Sharp app is very nice. So intuitive and easy to use. The look and feel is very modern and eye catching with asy to read fonts, pleasant color scheme, and nice graphics. It’s very easy to schedule a doctor appointment, urgent care visit, lab test or medication refill. All my previous appointments and test results transferred from the old app. I really like the wait list feature for getting an earlier appointment. And billing is now included in SharpHealthCare . It’s easy to send messages to your doctor too. I highly recommend SharpHealthCare.

Patient Care

I wanted to acknowledge Dr. Darrin Wong in Cardiology with Sharp Rees Stealy and his team along with Ana Lozano (lead MRI representative- Sharp Memorial) , Ozzie (MRI representative at Sharp Memorial) Surafel Dereje in (MRI at Sharp Memorial) and the referral coordinator with authorizations who quickly redirected my referral for an MRI from the MIRA MESA location to Sharp Memorial due to an equipment issue. I am a firm believer in acknowledging patient care because that is what I enjoy about being a Sharp Employee, now a Sharp patient due to heart failure. Sharp provides services that are accessible and I’m grateful to be part of this team. I received exceptional patient care from everyone involved. They all exceeded my expectations. Thank you all for providing excellent patient care from your fellow coworker/patient.
Sincerely,
Siaosi Ahrens

Easy and effective

Such a clean and simple app that will allow my family to schedule appointments and message our doctors in just a few taps.

Best Healthcare App I’ve Used!

Seems easy to get to everything, intuitive and incredibly well designed. Kudos Sharp!

Terrific!

Easier than expected to set up my account and all my doctors and recent medical history is there. It's clear great care and thoughtfulness has gone into the creation of SharpHealthCare.

staff have been wonderful

regardless of what doctor i visit, emergency room visits or hospital staff i have been treated respectfully and with compassion. i never expected to need as much health care as i have when i was in my 20’s and 30’s. from the time i hit 45 i have had the pleasure of visiting doctors, urgent cares and hospitals in sharp and sharp rees stealy. fortunately for me i am in a system that i am thankful to be a patient. sometimes health care isn’t as decent as it could be. i appreciate all of my doctors because they are amazing. thank you to all the staff from the folks that cleaned my room in the hospital, the people who took my blood and took extras and everyone else who works to make health care high quality! karen marshall

New Sharp Mobile App rocks

Sharp is the best! SharpHealthCare is easy to use and will save a lot of time managing my healthcare.

Easy to use!

I just scheduled my first appointment in SharpHealthCare and it was so quick! It only took a few clicks and I loved being able to see all my appt options and then add it directly to my calendar.

Fabulous!

So simple and clean

The App is Appin’

I’ve been using the Sharp app's patient portal for a couple months, and it has been a game-changer for managing my healthcare. SharpHealthCare is user-friendly and makes it incredibly easy to schedule appointments, view my medical records, and communicate with my healthcare providers. The design is intuitive, and the navigation is straightforward. I can find what I need quickly without any hassle.

Easy to navigate

This is such an improvement over the previous app I used to manage my health care. I appreciate how seamless and easy it is to navigate and how well my information is organized. Once I spent some time on it, it became more intuitive. I was pleasantly surprised to see an upcoming appointment appear that I had scheduled a year in advance last year and almost forgotten about!

Great new features

SharpHealthCare has everything you need to manage your healthcare (or your parents, spouse, childs healthcare). I find it to be a big improvement compared to the previous app, which was a little clunky and tricky to navigate. You can pay your bill, check in to appts, and even be notified of earlier appts that become available. Overall, I’ve really liked it so far.

Great user experience

I recently used SharpHealthCare for managing my healthcare needs and was thoroughly impressed by its user-friendly interface. Navigating through SharpHealthCare was a breeze, making it extremely easy to book appointments without any hassle. One feature that stood out to me was the ability to directly communicate with my doctor, which added a personal touch and enhanced the overall experience. The design of SharpHealthCare is clean and intuitive, making it simple to use for anyone. Moreover, having access to my recent medical history at my fingertips was incredibly convenient, allowing me to stay informed about my health. Overall, SharpHealthCare is a fantastic tool for anyone looking to streamline their healthcare management. Highly recommended for its seamless functionality and thoughtful design.

Long time coming

A long time coming and it is a most welcome change.

sensational

Something tells me there was an amazing team behind this. I can’t put into words how amazing the team is and how cool SharpHealthCare is. everyone deserves a monthly supply of mountain dews for their effort

Easy to use!

I just scheduled my first appointment in SharpHealthCare and it was so quick! It only took a few clicks and I loved being able to see all my appt options and then add it directly to my calendar.

Everything works now

Went to a sharp clinic and a representative there had me set up a new account take it worked: all may data is there
