This was always my favorite app for use as a Dreamlight Guide. I love how easy it is to save the collections that we have, and how easy it is to find them.
Currently, the developers seemed to have lost interest in keeping ValleyCompanion up to date.
ValleyCompanion is great, if you only play in the Valley, but since the Eternity Isle DLC has been released, ValleyCompanion is outdated. The last update that the developers made was a year ago, and the appearance is that they will not be updating it to include the new content.
I do still hold onto it to refer to the times that certain critters will be available (I am missing one from each set), and the times to water the garden. That is all I would recommend ValleyCompanion for.
Disappointed that I splurged and got the premium, when ValleyCompanion was just to be forgotten about by the ones I sent the money to.
I downloaded to help my wife complete her cooking list. The first 3 items we looked up were completely inaccurate and stated only 1 ingredient when 4-5 ingredients were necessary. When some of the items required are very hard to come by, it’s distressing to think of using them and getting nothing from them. I didn’t look at anything else in ValleyCompanion as it already lost my trust. I’ll stick with IGN guides that are always dead-on accurate and up-to-date.
Also, I think it’s funny that an app, in which the developer can’t bother to update, is trying to charge $5 for it. Shameless.
I understand this is stil being developed and while cuter than some others it leaves a lot to be desired AND I have a notification badge but NO idea why! Driving me insane
I liked it but it keeps resetting all my items to missing when it updates. Not trying to do it every time there’s an update. Deleted ValleyCompanion .
Update: Dev plz provide me with email address as I was unable to find on your website.
App was great when I first started using it. Then I updated it and bought the paid version and have had problems ever since. It resets itself and never saves my checked off items. And now it won’t restore my purchase. So I’m stuck with the ads again. Emailed developer within ValleyCompanion with no response.
I wish you had away to link something a email, Facebook or apple to your app. That way if you use ValleyCompanion on multiple devices it would sync across each other so you don’t have to do everything twice. Devs said “Good news it’s part of the Pro version” I don’t know if it’s good news that a common feature for all games is locked behind a pro version. I was on the fence getting the pro version but it’s kinda a turn off knowing this…..
I purchased ValleyCompanion and they advertise cloud service but my selections are not saved. Waste of money!!! Their website has no contact info.
I really liked ValleyCompanion when the base game came out - really easy to track everything but especially meals! However I recently updated ValleyCompanion and not only did I lose everything that I had saved as items/recipes I had found, but I’ve noticed now multiple recipes are missing ingredients (for example, Veggie Casserole is a 4 star meal but on my app only lists 2 ingredients needed). I know that this is a one-person/small-person team designing ValleyCompanion so this isn’t meant to be read as rude or even upset, but I wanted to be honest in my feedback!
I wish I had realized before I paid for it that it doesn’t track your items. Only tracks crops, gems, recipes and critters. Nothing you’ve purchased in the store or got otherwise. Also is not updated to match current items in the game since before Toy Story.
I downloaded ValleyCompanion last year and it’s been amazingly helpful. I recently paid for the pro version as it said it would update to include any DLC’s, but so far I haven’t seen anything for Eternity Island, which is why I rated 4 stars instead of 5. If you’re just looking for a companion app for the base game, I recommend ValleyCompanion! If your looking for an app that includes both the base game and and DLC’s, maybe look elsewhere for the time being
Very helpful app. My only issue is that some of the recipes don’t list the full ingredients. For instance, spring chocolate doesn’t list the spring egg needed to make it. Lioness Feast doesn’t list the Here and There fish in its ingredients. I have to use my browser to look up the full list which makes ValleyCompanion pointless. I’m sure there are others as it appears to be recipes that contain a special item.
The guide in its current state (Jan 2023) is quite full of daily activity checklists, my biggest gripe at the moment is the ui- there’s no automatic scaling for any of the menus or fonts, so while using my iPhone XS everything is really squashed and doesnt form to the appropriate spot on the screen. Same with the font, it’s very large and appears squeezed into the borders of the bounding boxes. I’d suggest try using some formatting plugins to solve this issue- or maybe play around with getting help from some other devs (Reddit is always good) as I know this is a fanmade project. I’ll keep using it because it’s the most popular guide and honestly looks the most promising especially with all the requested features. Once more updates come in I’ll probably purchase the ad free version, until then I’ll support by using ValleyCompanion and clicking ads here and there. I believe in you dev! You got this 👍🏻
I enjoy ValleyCompanion, it’s helping me complete things, but it needs more. I would love a clothing guide as it’s my big struggle in the game, but I can see how it would be hard to make. It would be so helpful though! Also I love the colors on ValleyCompanion , but need options for font resizing and pictures of things would be helpful too. Love the “live” guide!
I really love ValleyCompanion and it’s exciting to see all the future plans they have for ValleyCompanion ! I do wish the interface fit iPad screens but that’s no biggie, only thing that’s effected by that is I can’t get to the switch on the seaweed to mark it as found but in the end that doesn’t effect anything major. Thank you for this helpful app!
I am not sure if ValleyCompanion is still being updated, the last update was 2 months ago, but it is very nice in its current state. Would be perfect with a furniture and clothing checklist (which is on ValleyCompanion roadmap) with their pictures (if that’s possible) I’m using the pro version, hoping the purchase is helping them making these updates!
I like ValleyCompanion so far and it’s the only one like it, at this point, but I think it would be great if items or recipes were to be changed to a different color when you are marking them as completed. Otherwise you have to click to find out if you have it completed. And maybe not quite so large a font so you can see more items without having to scroll.
Great work!
I love that you can look up everything and quickly see which biome it is located in and the price! Also super handy to look up recipes!! Would love to see crop times in here as well. Thank you for doing this!
I had originally given a glowing 4 star review but the developer is amazing and within a day responded to a small error I had noticed. Very impressed : )
I want the developer to know that I really appreciate all the hard work and effort that they have put into ValleyCompanion. I thoroughly enjoy it and realize that it takes time to get features and bugs solved especially if this is a one man job or even a small team. I had no problem paying for premium and the fact that it is a one time purchase and not a subscription it’s very appealing to me. Reminds me of the way apps in ValleyCompanion Store used to be. My suggestion would be to add a “tip jar” for those of us who want to give a little extra support for when you release more updates. Thanks for this quality app. Can’t wait to see the updates to come. Highly recommend for the casual dreamlight gamer.
I absolutely love this guide, has helped me catch almost all the Critters! My fiancé is jealous because he can't find ValleyCompanion on the google play store.
Just started using ValleyCompanion. I really like the countdown to help with crops. I’ll most likely upgrade so I can have lots of timers going.
Love it!! Sooo helpful
ValleyCompanion is exactly what I was looking for to help me with Disney dreamlight Valley. It’s very easy to use and extremely helpful. That way I do not have to switch back-and-forth on the menu on my Nintendo switch. Thank You
I love ValleyCompanion! It’s been so great that I’m really tempted to purchase the paid version BUT I’m not seeing what the difference is other than no ads but i already don’t get ads so I’m not sure what exactly I’d be paying for. Please advise what the difference are, i would love to pay for it if i knew what the differences would be.
Leaving this reveals a follow up, I’ve realized there is no time zone issues, I’m just a dodo and didn’t realize it was saying the critters are available until 12AM that night because they’re an all day critter!! Thank you so much for responding and offering to check the issue out, however there is no issue, I’m just a dodo lol. ValleyCompanion is great and I love it!!
I’ve loved ValleyCompanion so far. Paid for the no add unlimited version. With the new Rift in Time update, will ValleyCompanion get any updates soon to account for the new plants, critters and food?
