One thing wrong

It’s a really glitchy app and my builds never save you should also put the pendants in MHWCompanion because it would be nice to know what you can put on your weapons. You should also put what what augmentation slots weapons have because I use MHWCompanion to find weapons. Monsters that are low rank, high rank and master rank you should put the master rank toughness report. The quest to the guided a paean the target is ruiner nergigante not shara ishvalda. put the Kulve taroth and safi’jiiva weapons. Please put every other optional quest and special quests. Also you don’t have the assassin’s hood upgrade. The evasion mantle is obtained by completing new world sky new world flower. Beyond the blasting scales and a thunderous rumble in the highlands are not assigned ever since iceborne came out. Also the ecology reports are hard to understand. You should also put the types of slinger ammo and what the clutch claw makes monsters drop. Also add the following things about your palico: what gadgets do you have what armor and weapon do you use and what level it is. Also put what hunter rank/master rank you have. Also put food skills and recommended builds for certain monsters. You are missing two main quests which are big burly bash and to the very ends with you. Lastly put the locales monsters can be in (not the guiding lands) I never said to remove brute Tigrex.

Super Useful and Easy to Use. Worth the Money!

MHWCompanion transformed my sets in MHW. I always felt like I wasn’t utilizing my decos and resources to make the best sets I could. I put in my decos, ran a search for the skills I wanted and bam - 10+ ways to do it. So I tried to cram more skills in with my limited resources and I got a surprise - MHWCompanion tells you if you can make it or not, and when you can’t, it gives you lots of different options of how to get close and shows you what slots you have left. And you can save sets or share them. Worth it!
If I were to wish for any additional features it’d be the ability to change color themes to different neutral backgrounds and for the sharpness of weapons to update depending on the weapon and the level or sharpness you are trying to add. A damage calculator would be over the top great, even though I can’t give more than 5 stars.

Great app that can be better

I want to say that I’m enjoying MHWCompanion and I’m honestly grateful there is something I can quickly access during a hunt for info without needing to leave myself open during a quest. However there are things that I’ve noticed that I feel need to be pointed out. Please see below for current list.

4* app, 5* if fixes and some listed additions are made.

Current Number of Found Errors: 2

-Kestodon Guards are listed as leg armor pieces, but are actually arm pieces.

-Xeno’jiiva elemental weakness chart; In-game chart shows only Poison as a 3* weakness and all other elements are 2*. In app shows weakness to Thunder, Ice and Water.

Suggested additions:
-A page in the Monster info showing in-game Physiology page. [Allows hunters a guide for breaking parts and weak areas at a glance rather then reading numbers.]

-Armor Set having a ‘build by selected skills’ function. [Allows players to choose skills they want and function finds armor setups with those skills.]

-Armor set ‘Use only owned armor parts.’ [Works in conjunction with previous suggestion. Allows user to see armor setups containing selected skills, using only the armor pieces they’ve already crafted.]

-Listing skills by type categories as well as Alphabetically. [Lets a user quickly find the area of skill information even if they don’t know the name of skill, or gives user of skill a better idea of how skill is meant to be used.]

Easy to use and understand

Love MHWCompanion , I like to see all the care and attention that was given to this. The monster layout and everything is fantastic. I do wish that we could see the health and alter it for things like behemoth and the arch tempered variants. Other than that small nit pic I mean it’s a really good app. I’ve even showed it to coworkers who have so also downloaded this. Probably my favorite thing in MHWCompanion is the armory building. Yes it’s behind a pay wall but people need their money. Especially if they’re going to be putting this much work and time into it. Being able to go in and say hey I want this armor with these perks. They even include a handy shopping list so ya know exactly what ya need. Keep up the work devs your doing great so far

Very flawed, but still the best

My impression of MHWCompanion is very mixed.
First of all, this is the best MHW database app I’ve tried. Despite its flaws, you aren’t going to find a better alternative.

It provides a lot of very useful information. As an example, you can go into Weapons, select one, and see all its stats and what parts are needed to craft it. You can then select one of the listed parts, and see how to get that. Including not only what monster drops it, but what parts you have to break if any, and the percent chance of it dropping.
If you don’t like the brown theme, you can change that as well with the paid version.

The problem I have with MHWCompanion is that it is extremely slow and unstable. It runs at like 5 FPS at any given time while scrolling or interacting with UI elements, despite being nothing but data lists. Pages take a long time to load. The navigation bar sometimes just refuses to open. And Sometimes it even just randomly crashes and closes itself down.

It’s good relative to similar apps due to the convenient layout and sheer volume of useful information, but as an app it just doesn’t seem all that well put together under the hood.

Great app that needs a little fine tuning

First off, don’t get me wrong, I love MHWCompanion so much and has helped me in the murdering of monsters. However, there are a few things that could be better, like there isn’t much explained to you on MHWCompanion and seeing all the data on a monster can be confusing without knowing what it means, (like on the hit data for the ko and exhaust damage, Is that the limit for applying these effects or the damage it does to the monster?) Second, I wish there were better guides for the weapons like recommended weapon paths for different monsters, armors etc. or even guides for monsters. I realize that you might not change all of these but if you could do a little bit, it could help a lot.

Love the app, just one problem

I really love all of the functionality of MHWCompanion. The armor set search and builder are amazing. This has really opened up my options for diverse builds.

My only issue is I can’t seem to save anything. Every time I close MHWCompanion , everything reverts to default. Every option I select for armor and decorations goes away, and saved sets disappear. Is there some option to keep this from happening?

Update: After some playing around and searching through settings, I found that iCloud backup was switched off for MHWCompanion on my phone. Once I turned it back on, my save problem was solved. Adjusting to 5 star rating!

Works great, just a question though-

In the Sponsors section, if you opt in to be shown as one, it pulls a profile picture from “somewhere”, but I never provided any information as to where it was taken from. It isn’t the same as the email I used to opt in as one, but it IS an image I have used a Ling time ago. Where does your app pull Sponsor profile pics from?

If I could offer a suggestion for your donors; allow them the option from within MHWCompanion to set a personal profile pic to show from the Sponsor’s section. That way they have complete control over what kind of image is shown.

Amazing for an unfinished app.

MHWCompanion is great for people who want to know the stats of monsters and how to get to a certain weapon in the tree that they don’t have as a viewable weapon yet. It not only gives you what you need for it, but where to get the materials as well. MHWCompanion is incomplete, as new content is always being released, and some of the health for the elder dragons is missing, but it’s a work-in-progress, so it’s understandable. It gives you the option to test custom load outs and save up to 32 of them, which I have found to be very useful. All and all, it’s an app worth getting and supporting for future MHW players.

Amazing

I used to google everything about this game I didn’t understand or couldn’t figure out, which took up a lot of time. But I found MHWCompanion, and it is 10 times faster and easier than searching the web. EVERYTHING you need to know about anything in the game is right here in MHWCompanion. Weapons, how to make them, where to find the materials to make it, drop chances of said materials depending on capture, carve, carve tail, etc. everything is on point in MHWCompanion. There’s much more than what I just described, but if you’re reading this, download MHWCompanion and see for yourself!

Pretty awesome

It’s a good app to help you on general info for monsters and what parts they drop. It also has a neat system wherein you can “check-off” any pieces of armor or weapons you have acquired through your hunts so you don’t have to rummage around your item box; just a quick look through MHWCompanion and you immediately know what you do and don’t have. And if you can’t find that specific item or part or piece of armor that you have, search with the search bar and you’ve got it. All in all, a time saver and wonderful companion app for all your monster hunting needs.

One little problem

I’ve just gotten MHWCompanion and it has been amazing so far, it’s got everything I need to know, but I’ve found a problem. I’m not sure if it’s a bug, or if it’s just not there, but I can’t find the kestodon guards in the set builder. I am currently using the kestodon guards on my play through on monster hunter world and I think it would be amazing to figure out what stats I have on my armor set when I’m away from the game. Other than that, I have no complaints. I hope you do find this and I hope this is fixed for the future. Fantastic app, keep up the good work.

This app is straight heat bro. Certified

MHWCompanion is fire. Straight banger bro. Understandably it’s gotta make the creators some money so the guiding lands portion being behind a pay wall isn’t all dat bad of an idea to me. Aside from MHWCompanion closing once a week if I start searching or switching tabs too fast for their promotional ads or whatever to load I have no issues with MHWCompanion. Very simple and unlike the wiki for this game the weapon trees are readable and don’t take years to load. Overall a great app and kudos to the creators y’all did a mighty fine job!

Great app I love it

Hello, I love MHWCompanion and I just wanted to say a suggestion if you wouldn’t mind. So the armor skill set is very nice to get certain skills and I don’t know if this is possible or too much to ask, but could you have an armor selection for certain monsters? Example. Tobi Kadachi is lightning based so having armor you have for resistance to lightning will show up. Just a suggestion I’d still love MHWCompanion regardless but it would be beneficial for noobs to the game if they don’t already know what element the monster goes off of. Thank you for your time and developing MHWCompanion, have a nice day!

Absolutely useful app

I’m not too great at writing reviews but I love MHWCompanion. It’s useful for on the fly research about an upcoming hunt, or even for the materials you need for the weapon you want and how to get them. If I had to choose one thing to add to MHWCompanion though is I wish it would tell the monsters weak points and element/ailment weakness in better detail vs just giving a number. For example in the monster handbook in-game it gives stars for the amount a monster is weak to something. If this did something similar to that then it would be even better!

Not bad at all

Honestly MHWCompanion is really well made and has a lot of potential. I hope in the future they add maps that could possibly be edited as you explore through out the game, like marking up and personalizing ur own map with loot locations and nest locations etc. Also it would be nice to have a tab specifically for ur saved items in separate categories, rather then typing in the search bar for them. Other than that, its the best MHW Guide available and has almost everything u need to help you play the game with a full experience.

I love monster hunter

I have always loved monster hunter because the thrill of the hunt but the base they have built with there own unique ecosystem and monsters which all connect in some fashion I just want show my support for the series and all it stands for, I even did an in app purchase but I do kind think maybe you should add a monster builder where people can create there own monster because I have a inspiration for so many concepts as a science lover myself I think the makers of monster hunter deserve support so from the deepest parts of my mind I say thank you

Overall Good App

I really like MHWCompanion a lot and I contributed the Silver pledge for premium, but I have noticed that the search functionality in the armor section has slowed down considerably since last using it a month ago. Please try to optimize this because MHWCompanion lags for way too long to do a simple armor search.

Also, please add the ability to sort by gear already owned and allow us to default our armor section to High Rank (which is what 99% of users likely use anyway).

*Edit* Thanks for the response! I run this on an iPhone 8+ and I am always sure to be on the latest version of iOS (currently 11.3)

Quick, easy to use, and easy improvements

This is the best MHW companion I can find. It’s simple but detailed, easy to navigate, and free to top it off. While there can be some improvements, akin to any other app, they’re not something to view MHWCompanion as bad. I do feel as if adding pictures of the monsters would be nice, adding tempered monsters to the list, and adding stat comparisons might be helpful. While I do see how that could take awhile, it’d be a great addition. No complaints from me, and I’d recommend it to anybody new- or even veterans- to the MH series.

MHW

MHWCompanion is a excellent source of information concerning all things Monster Hunter World. All the need to know information is at your finger tips in a pinch. It updates itself according to what special events are going on and also gives new information on new monsters, weapons and gear. The build a set feature is my favorite, creating a set and keeping progress as you piece it together with a crafted tab to help along the way. Awesome job so far guys keep up the great work! I honestly can't think of anything you should add : )
