I downloaded this for a friends trip to Boston. We all set up our profiles and added our PayPal info. We were easily able to add anything paid for and split with the right people. However the issue came at the end of the trip when trying to settle up. We thought we would be able to pay direct from the app but that didn’t seem to be the case. Every way I tried to figure it out, it didn’t work. Why ask for PayPal account of you can’t actually pay someone.
Besides that ending, everything else was great but this was a pretty big flaw.

I have used this app a number of times over the past couple of years. Last time was a few months ago. We just started a trip and we’re surprised to find out that the current version is much less intuitive than previously. This is a trap app developers get into: Keep throwing requirements in and a previously simple and graceful app that did one thing well now does many things-poorly. To be clear, this used to be simple and intuitive and is now inscrutable. Clearly little or no user involvement before release.

We have used splitter for 4+ years & really like it. It is great for keeping track of your own expenses on a trip or splitting expenses with friends on a trip. In the past I think R, the developer, has been very helpful with problems & responsive to suggestions. That doesn’t appear to the case as much probably due to the volume of users. Also ads have recently become an integral part of the app, which I understand due to the need for income. However they come with sound that can’t be turned off easily. This causes problems if you are in a public space or in a room with someone that is sleeping. It would be great to be able to turn off all sound for the app in the future R.
