Might be ok, but it's NOT FREE!

I downloaded ProgressBodyTracker To help me track progress as it seemed to be one of the better rated ones on ProgressBodyTracker Store. Upon opening it and trying to set it up it pops up a message that you have to have "pro" version to track more than five measurements! So if you wanna track weight, hips, calves, shoulders, fat% that's it you can't track waist or neck or anything else without paying 4.99 for PRO!

NOWHERE in the description does it tell you this at the time I was looking. I even went back and looked to see if I missed it but nope nothing there telling you that. This feels like a bait and switch tactic and I refuse to be tricked into buying an app that way. I would have been more inclined to buy it out right if it had just said the real cost up front! I deleted this immediately and chose a different app!

A waste of $5.99. Buying good reviews?

The one star is too high. They don’t even answer questions from ProgressBodyTracker .

The rest of the rating is for ProgressBodyTracker itself and its price.

1. You can set one goal and if it’s inches, you better know exactly how many you’d like to lose from each of your body parts and add it all up. There is no guidance at all, it is cumbersome and not useful.

2. The interface of ProgressBodyTracker is not attractive and it greets you with seemingly one option, which is a giant green circle that states, “Lets add today’s measurements.”

3. Even the 10 low carb recipes is not included after you pay $6 for ProgressBodyTracker (ALREADY AN ABSURD PRICE) you have to pay additional fee for stuff that is free on the internet.

4. ProgressBodyTracker gives you ZERO INSIGHT or guidance, whether it’s about how to calculate you lean mass or even your BMI. I get it, I could figure it out myself, but for this price, they could at least include the calculators.

5. I find it tacky that when you go to “Me” section, the default selection is to tip the developers for a not very useful and already much too expensive app. Really?

I fear I wasted almost $6. I don’t mind paying for something that is useful, but “Progress” is just not.

Good tracker

I’m so sad I updated ProgressBodyTracker. I do not like the new look. I mainly came here because I wanted to make a comment about how things get recorded. I get where you’re coming from top to bottom chest then biceps, but it’s not exactly top to bottom because next is hips and then waist followed by thighs. I would really like it if we could control the order because I am not shrinking my retractable measuring tape from my chest to my biceps because I have to increase it again for my waist and my hips. I’ve recently decided I want to record my biceps, but if I can’t control the order then I’m not going to use ProgressBodyTracker to record it. The other thing that I would update is I would like the choice if I measure my right side or left side first. I don’t want to be told you have to measure do your left side then right when I would prefer to measure my right side first.
I reduced stars for the new look as well as the inability to choose the order of what I measure, and the order of which side I measure first.

Difficult on purpose

I used to love ProgressBodyTracker and rave about its. Then all of a sudden they made changes for the worse. Now, if you change the orientation on the phone (even accidentally) or switch to another app (to get your weight, pics, etc), everything you entered will erase and you’ll have to start over again from square one by measuring each part of your body again. It’s already a tedious process and they’ve made it even more so. And when you write to support, they tell you it’s on purpose. So if you don’t want to be frustrated beyond belief tearing out your hair as you measure each body part over and over and over, you better write down each measurement first and only use ProgressBodyTracker as a way to organize those pen and paper notes. Because this. app. will. frustrate. you. to. tears.

Started it

You have to buy ProgressBodyTracker if you want more measured, which I did (wish I was slightly cheaper) but you can measure whatever, when you buy it. The only thing is, it doesn’t calculate your body mass and water percentage and muscle mass, you have to do that on your own and if you don’t know it. Well I don’t know! (Unless of course I’m missing something.) I don’t know the instructions aren’t super clear, you get an email to help you, but I’ll see how it goes. Im also frustrated that I can only pick one “gain/lose option” because I’m trying to lose weight/fat and gain muscle. I’m just trying to be more fit, but I don’t really know how to work ProgressBodyTracker completely.

So far I love it!

While I like ProgressBodyTracker overall and it seems to be an effective weight/measurement tracker so far, there are a couple things that have been driving me nuts. If you want to go in and change/log a certain measurement, you have to go through all your selected measurements in order to do so (ex. You want to just update weight without doing waist/hip/etc, you have to still click through them). Not horrible, but a bit obnoxious. It’s the same to add photos (it would be a lot better if you could add progress photos without making an entire new entry with all the measurements). Also, be sure you have SCREEN LOCK turned ON! If your phone happens to accidentally rotate while working on a new entry ALL of the measurements you’ve already entered for it are erased, it takes you back to the home page, and you have to start over >_<

Problems with the app

Lewis,
It appears ProgressBodyTracker has some issues. I could not get the message to send in the contact us section so I’m messaging you here. It kept saying to fill in all fields but there is only a subject line and message field. The two attachments were grayed out. ??
My other issue is I have tried to upgrade several times but it isn’t working. I will be asking for a refund of anything I’m billed over the one upgrade fee of 4.99 in the event I’m charged for all of my attempts. The tap her to pay is on the upper right hand side of the screen which is odd and it doesn’t appear to be functioning. I think this will be a great app if I can actually get started with it.
Thank you.
D. Thomas

Almost Perfect

This will be great for what we want to track. Might I make a suggestion though. Add the ability to add a weight check daily. Obviously I don’t want to measure everything daily but most people like to check their weight each day. Currently you have to do everything for an update. Next it would be great to see some trend charts possibly using something like PowerBI reporting. I haven’t exported data yet so I might be able to do that later but it would be great to have it all in one place. Add those features and this would be a perfect app for me. I would be even willing to pay a slightly higher cost for the subscription fee to have a one stop shop. Overall easy to navigate and I recommend. I did have trouble entering my name where it took a couple tries as it only captured one or two characters but once manipulated and updated it now stays.

Love this app!

ProgressBodyTracker is perfect for anyone trying to keep track of their weight loss progress. You can easily keep track of all the measurements you want you are loosing, the weight you are loosing, as well as taking progress pictures (front, side, and back). You can then view and share those progress pictures side by side from when you began to where you are now and even overlay them. There is so much you can do with ProgressBodyTracker. It’s all here!

I like it. Does almost everything

ProgressBodyTracker covers almost all the bases for what I need to track. It’s easy to input information and is a great single point of reference for those of us wanting to track all these parameters.
My only suggestion would be that on the CUSTOM labels, allow us to use a measurement besides just inches/centimeters. A whole number would be cool so I could track my blood glucose number - usually XXX.X format. Then I wouldn’t need my glucose meter app.

Thanks for the awesome work on this

Very helpful

Love ProgressBodyTracker! I used to track weight and measurements manually or in my notes on my phone. I love having a secure place to keep track that charts everything and allows me to store progress photos that can only be accessed by me. It allows fingerprint ID access and you can customize and add additional measurements you’d like to keep. Sends a reminder when it’s time to track and it’s easy to use. It also syncs with iPhone’s health app if that’s something you want to allow. Very well done.

Almost all I need - enjoying it

I’ve only been using the upgraded version for a week but I really like it. I was looking for an app that will track measurements, weight, progress photos all in one and this does the job well. I sent in a question about usage and they were also quick to respond which was great. I would like to see it be able to add a type of food photo to journal to it so that I didn’t have to use a separate app for that. But outside of that I would recommend this.

Great App!

As a software engineer I’m not extremely tolerant of glitches, bad layout, etc. ProgressBodyTracker is well thought out and has worked flawlessly. I had a couple of suggestions I felt might be useful and the dev team was very open to suggestions which is definitely not the norm.

As a user trying to get healthier, it was great to see before and after dated pics side by side and I loved that I could export them very easily.

I think this is a great app. I did purchase the upgrade but it was well worth it. I am recommending ProgressBodyTracker to all my friends and to anyone reading this.

If you’re trying to lose weight or tone up, you NEED this app.

The Progress app has helped me a ton in my weight loss journey.

The feature I love most is that I can track any measurements I want and it reminds me to do. It shows you if you’ve gone up or down in weight, has cool milestone badges and has kept me really motivated. The graphs and how ProgressBodyTracker reports is really helpful and easy to understand.

Only tracking weight is a mistake. The times I didn’t lose weight I found I lost inches so I knew I was still making progress. 😊

You can also take before and after photos and upload them and it will overlay the photos so you can actually see the changes in how your body looks. Such a cool feature!

Progress has awesome customer support and I even got an email from ProgressBodyTracker ’s creator, Lewis, to thank me! If you’re trying to lose weight or even just tone up, ProgressBodyTracker is a must!

Well worth the money

When searching for an app to track measurements, I came across a recommendation for this one and another app. I downloaded the free versions of both and got started. I was tempted to buy the full version to access the photo feature, but hesitant to spend $5 (the other app had similar features and was only $2), but the reviews and the developer’s care and investment in ProgressBodyTracker impressed me so I decided to go for it. I’m so glad I did. It really matters to me that my info isn’t being sold and that my photos are secure, and that seems to be a priority for this developer. ProgressBodyTracker is easy to use and really helpful in tracking my fitness journey. I was able to check out a friend who had purchased the full version of the other app I had considered and again I’m impressed by the features and layout of this one- definitely made the right choice.

Great customer service

I wanted an app for tracking changes in my size and this is the best I’ve found that allows me to do that. It enables me to measure my body parts with a tape measure and set a goal to lose or gain a specific number of inches, including setting weekly notifications to weigh myself and input the new measurement. I’m extremely pleased with the user interface and the responsive customer service. ProgressBodyTracker is a great option for anyone who doesn’t want to restrict themselves to just weight tracking or who wants to avoid weight tracking altogether and just focus on tracking body size.

Awesome app and customer service

I been having this application for YEARS. It allows you to put in the measurements we all need. I personally love the way it looks now compared to the past. They had a bug issue recently and instead ignoring their clients they fixed the issue. I personally emailed them about the problem, they sent a work around link solution so I could continue to measure myself, then when they fixed the problem they personally followed up and sent an updated link that connected both the old and the new app. Awesome customer service!!!

Great for measuring other than body weight

This is for the paid version. So easy to use; it’ll track body fat percentage and muscle mass; body measurements and many more and it’s so easy to log and keep track of your progress. I use it with a scale that gives me body composition info, but it’s not a smart scale that feeds to an app, so I needed an app that I could input manual entries, and this is perfect. *** Note to developer: please change the color of the changes to muscle mass. It indicates green when muscle mass decreases, it should show as green if muscle mass increases and red if it decreases. (When weight, BMI and body fat % decreases, ProgressBodyTracker indicates this with a green circle to indicate you’re doing good, If they increase, there’s a red circle, meaning you’re going in the wrong direction) Thanks!

Great Tracker & Customer Service

When I first downloaded ProgressBodyTracker I had issues with it and emailed support. They were most helpful and upgraded me to pro for all my issues. I just emailed again with a question and heard within hours. The developers care about their app and their customers who use it which is getting to be rare it seems.

I love being able to easily track different measurements and although I haven’t used the photo section yet it is a nice way of viewing progress.

What I’m not sure about is how it works with FitBit because I don’t see any updates in FitBit coming from Progress but that being said I may not know what it’s doing and my FitBit app has been acting up so I cannot fault Progress for that. I’m sure if it is on Progress side their wonderful Support will take care of the issue.

They do have a free measurement guide that they email. I wish it was part of the measurements themselves so you can see how to measure directly in the same screen you add it. That would be my only recommendation.

If you want a simple tracker and great support, ProgressBodyTracker is definitely for you.

Great app!

I wanted an app to record my weight and measurements. This is perfect. I take my measurements weekly but my weight daily. I paid for the full version because I wanted to input my info from the past 2 months so I needed the full version. I couldn’t figure out how to put in just my weight without measurements. I sent the developer that question and he got right back to me and it’s simple. Definitely worth the $5. Great graphs. And love having an app instead of a paper journal.
