Worth the price: loved it, still love it

I’ve been using a version of TodoCloud from this company for about 10 years now. As my “free” year expired, I had to decide if I still wanted it. Especially reading everyone else’s reviews and being on a tight budget, I wondered, “Is it worth the price?” I explored other apps and noted that their premium prices were about the same amount. In comparing features, they didn’t have what I want. I love TodoCloud. I love its organization and features. I love how I can make it as simple or complex a system as needed for me to help me balance my need as a single mom to get a lot done (listing out the zillions of things “to do” in an organized manner so it’s easier to prioritize) with my needs as someone who struggles with anxiety and depression (turning off and on notifications and readjusting my focus list/due dates to give me the freedom to reduce the pressure.) How you use it is up to you but I’m very grateful for the improvements and updates I’ve seen throughout the years. Apps like this simplify my life and save me money in the long run. I’m happy to pay so they can continue to provide their service and have the ability to make more improvements.

DO NOT BUY from this company

Many people including myself were using their product for years (ToDo 8.0). You could sync to third party apps like Toodledo — the interface and this capability was why I bought it. Then they created a cloud version - TodoCloud - and offered it, but the interface was not as good, and it required a monthly fee - so I’m guessing few switched (like myself). The product I PURCHASED worked as specified, and I liked it.

NOW - they automatically updated everyone to this new version - which is a totally different product - in looks, interface, no syncing to third party, and requires a monthly fee. People started writing bad reviews on TodoCloud , so they shut down TodoCloud in the store so that you could no longer see the reviews and how angry people were. I had happened to purchase this cloud version way back to give it a try and didn’t like it, but I am able to post a review here since I did. Those that were forced into the upgrade have nowhere to voice there anger, unless they purchase TodoCloud separately.

This is extortion, and no company should be able to get away with this. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. If you bought an appliance, say a refrigerator, and a year after using it the power turned off and the display said - this refrigerator will no longer function unless you pay us a monthly fee. This is exactly what they have done!

This does all I could ask

I do not do reviews, survey, or any other marketing nonsense. However; I read some very unrealistic reviews associated to TodoCloud.
I have had TodoCloud all the way through their transition to the cloud. Yes, I am tired of all different apps, that interface differently, for everything we do in our lives. That is not todos issue. If you don’t like the way change is effecting you, then u should have paid attention.
TodoCloud works great. I would like my calendars, and todo to be one app, but it works. I use iT to track shopping list, shared in family, track bill timelines, projects, or any other list that has more then one item. Interfacing is simple and comprehensive. Couldn’t tell u about support, because I have never needed them in 10 plus years. So that should say something about their app. It is worth the annual subscription to keep me organized and able to communicate that information to my family.

This was a wise buy for us, and I have already introduced it to the grand children.

Thanks from a procrastinator

When you’re overwhelmed with all that you have going on, its very easy to fall into procrastination. Out of sight, out of mind—put it off until tomorrow—work on all the little things to avoid the big things.

I wasn’t expecting Todo to help me with procrastination, but it has! I keep it open on my desktop so I can add and check things off as I go. I find myself consulting it when I’m not sure what I want to tackle next. Being able to toggle between “Everything” and “Focus” has been a game changer. Having all the lists from all the aspects of my life all in one place in a way that doesn’t overwhelm me has soothed the savage procrastination beast. Its still there mind you—it took me a little longer than I thought it would to write this post—but I completed the task instead of pushing it from one paper list to another or forgetting to do it altogether.

Because Todo is so accessible, it made the habit of using it exclusively for list making very easy—I believe this is why its had such a positive effect on me. Thanks Todo!

Love the product ... but missing one thing!!

I have used ToDo in its various versions for years. I stick with GTD methods relatively purely, and this product works extremely well for that. There is one thing they took away several years ago that I REALLY miss and it continues to affect my productivity ... you can no longer enter a task it’s a start date but no due date. There are so many instances I want to be able to use this, and I would assume others do as well. It seems like it would be fairly simple feature to allow. I end up creating work arounds, but then I have a bunch of tasks with false due dates. I’m a big believer in Start date use ... I don’t want to veg SEE a task until a designated date, but often there’s no hard due date for such things.

I’ve fought the work arounds for some time, and I’ve looked for other products off and on, because this feature is so important to my workflow. For now, I’ve stuck with ToDo because other than that, I really like he product, especially with the bugs fixed in the latest version.

Long Time User But Still Not Loving New Version

While the website works great, I mostly use the iOS version which is still very buggy. I have emailed them several times regarding the multiple reminders not working, they all go off at the due time which has made me late for many an appointment. I now have to set the due time as early to keep that from happening. It also still takes more steps to enter a task than in past versions. Not sure what their logic was and why they felt that needed to be changed.

Regardless, I still haven’t found anything that fits my needs as well. I’m at the point where I just need simple todo tasks, checklists and projects with scheduling and reminders (that work). I’ll continue to use but am still researching for something not quite as buggy. I am hoping that won’t be necessary as I have used ToDo for at least 10 years!

It feels like they tried to improve too much too fast and lost track of what most of their long time users needs were. Too bad.

When change isn’t progress

I’ve been using TodoCloud for years— and it’s been excellent, meeting all my scheduling needs and updating seamlessly across my devices. The current version, however, has been frustrating in that it’s now needlessly complicated to specify a date and time, especially when an event isn’t “all day.” Often, I think I’ve set a date/time only to find that I haven’t— too many steps to save things. Also, what need is there for an “all day” setting anyway? Before, I could set a date and time easily not have to double check. Developers shouldn’t alter what works perfectly. Another bug: I’ve been unable to delete items in a checklist. My deleted items keep reappearing.

The Best Out There- Better Than Things

Over the years I thing I have tried most task managers. ToDo Cloud is not perfect, but is the best I can find.

I recently invested into Things 3 for all my devices. I think all in that was around $100. While it has some nice features, the KEY missing element is the ability to prioritize tasks.

ToDo lets you prioritize tasks. It does so easily too with the ability to simply drag a task from one priority to another. This is key and it is the only app out there that I have found that does that. Without that, you end up waisting time on the small things and not getting the most important work done.

Things uses the Getting Things Done method in which there are no priorites. It’s total BS!!! Life gives you to many things to do. You can’t get them all done. Not in one lifetime.

ToDo uses the Seven Habits of Successful People method of getting it all down and then separating what is Urgent, Important, Deferrable and maybe get to someday (I’m paraphasing).

The ability to sync between all my devices is key too. ToDo runs on all my Apple devices and even a few Windows devices I have.

It now offers Siri integration too. So, overall, I recommend it.

Be realistic. You can’t do everything you’d like, so do what is really important.

Still the best

I have been using Todo Cloud as my to do list app for years. It used to be a but limited and buggy. So I gave several of other apps a try iver the years but they were either too complicated and time consuming to maintain or too simplistic and I always promptly returned to Todo.
A couple years ago, a new manager (management team?) took over and it’s night and day. They cleaned up the old bugs, modernized the UI, and added a tremendous amount of functionality.
I use most of the features, except for the collaboration features. It’s powerful, intuitive and visually pleasing. TodoCloud pretty much does everything I need.
Their customer service and responsiveness are remarkable, especially if you participate in their beta testing.
I highly recommend TodoCloud. Excellent value.

Definitely a MUST HAVE

I also have been using TodoCloud for 10 years. I have looked at others but nothing compares to this one. I keep EVERYTHING in TodoCloud…my bill due dates, work schedules, my medicine reminders, social events, daily-yearly chore reminders, auto maintenance reminders and info, pet-related reminders, birthdays/anniversaries reminders…each under separate categories but also viewable by day. The only time I forget something is when I don’t check my To-Do App. I HIGHLY recommend TodoCloud and the price is not any more than purchasing physical calendars or other reminder devices. I can check in an instant if I have an opening to attend a party or make a follow-up Appt. Personally I prefer having TodoCloud on my phone which is always with me.

Finally a Simply Yet Effective Task Management App

I work full time as a freelancer, which means my task list is always STUFFED and sometimes it hard for me to remember things that are due or keep project deadlines straight. For years, I’ve resorted to to old “sticky notes covering my desk” methodology because I wasn’t able to find an electronic solution that suited my needs. This Take management app is finally that solution, it seems.

I’ve been using TodoCloud for a week and already I feel less stress about keeping my day to day activities in order. Having a concise list of my daily tasks (as well separate lists for the more important ones) has helped bump my productivity a noticeable amount so I can better achieve goals I set daily. No more searching for that one sticky note in the spray!

Great app..needs minor improvement

Great app thus far. Would like them to add a nagging feature encase the task is still incomplete. Like that fact you can get location based reminders. Seems very simple to use. Don't like the fact you have to enter in your password to unlock the phone each time you get a reminder when your iPhone is locked. Other apps just allow you to mark as complete. Also I have recently noticed that when you mark a task as complete on your home screen without opening the phone. And later on go to your app those same tasks are still listed as incomplete and you have to go back in and individually close them. Which sometimes means you have serval days worth of tasks you have to go through which are marked as overdue when you already in fact marked complete. This is a little bit of a nuisance to have to do on a regular basis.

Would be perfect if not for frequent bugs. Losing patience.

I’ve been a paying user of ToDo for years, and although I always keep an eye out for other options, I’ve never found an app that offers me all the task functions I want.

That said, the last two years have seen more and more bugs, and less and less support. I’ve submitted a number of tickets, and although I occasionally get a response, I’ve never actually gotten a resolution, and I’ve resorted to eventually figuring out a fix myself or just giving up and hoping it gets fixed in a future update. If I can’t trust that the tasks and dates I’m seeing are complete or accurate, I can’t justify paying for or using TodoCloud anymore. Any more bugs or a lack of response to those introduced by the most recent update, and I’ll sadly be looking for another solution.

Best ToDo app still and getting better

This is my daily fastest and most reliable personal ToDo app which I use for home besides work projects. The latest app is also extremely reliable and web app is also good. Completely don’t understand the massively negative reviews and it just makes no sense especially crying about $30 for an entire year of daily backups plus minor bugs/fixes being very promptly addressed, so just be fair and use TodoCloud and properly give it the ratings it deserves. Join the beta version of TodoCloud DEV team to help shape future updates. I gave suggestion of percentage complete bar and done in 1 month. Maybe SMF999 user should build his own app 👍

Amazing Organization And Productivity App!

If you anything like me and the majority of people I know you are so busy with work and life in general that it gets difficult and overwhelming to stay organized and keep on top of your daily to-do task management. I have been looking for a long time for an app that allows me to set, follow, and achieve goals and TodoCloud is just what I have been looking for. I love how easy it is to add tasks and lists and TodoCloud gives you total freedom in what you add. TodoCloud is perfect for me especially right around the start of the year when I am making and tracking New Year’s Resolutions. Definitely recommend downloading and checking out ToDo Cloud. You won’t be disappointed!

Great organization app

I love my to lists and am a power user that’s looking for a lot more functionality than Apple Reminders gives. ToDo Cloud gives me this. There’s focus lists, alarms that go off when you arrive at certain locations & integration with Siri. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is I’m a bit frustrated about the limited choices for repeated tasks (like missing repeat task on X day of each month) and the syncing issue. Syncing is fine with TodoCloud, but that’s because I pay a monthly fee. I was using Todo 8.0 and I had so many problems syncing & spent so many hours trying to resolve it that I just bit the bullet and purchased the monthly subscription.

Bug appeared in iOS tagging a couple months ago

I rely on ToDo. I have hundreds of tasks, organized with 8 tags. Perhaps two months ago a bug appeared. If I haven’t used tags in awhile - an hour? — and i want to tag or retag an item, the tag menu is empty, as though this would be the first tag I ever created. Even if I wait a moment, the menu remains empty. So I type in my tag. If I type it correctly, all is well and soon after the menu of my tags will appear. If I want to tag a fresh task within a few minutes, the menu of existing tags pops up immediately, as it always has until this bug appeared.
This bug is present in my iPhone and iPad.

Great App and Awesome Support

I’ve been a long time user and fan of Todo by Appigo. I’ve always liked the simple and intuitive interface along with the many features offered that take task organization to another level. Now with Todo Cloud it makes the experience all the better by syncing across all devices and the ability to enter todo’s from a web-based interface. The customer/app support is simply amazing. I recently submitted feedback regarding an enhancement and I received an email back the same day indicating that they would start working on it right away. Now that is world class customer service!! I appreciate the outstanding support that goes along with this first rate app.

Why no Watch/FaceID?

TodoCloud is still great. It's been a go-to fit me for years. It has pretty much all of the features you'd want or get with other apps like Things or Omnifocus but this one also has Web and Windows apps so platform support is even better. But why not incorporate Apples latest greatest features such as Apple Watch integration or Face ID? Both of these features have been available to developers for well over a year and almost all legitimate competitors to TodoCloud already have it. That's disappointing to me b/c my watch has become one of the tools I manage my life with (much to my surprise). I'm still a believer in TodoCloud but if they don't catch up I may switch to Omnifocus once their web app becomes available later this year.

I'm happy to adjust my rating of/when these features are released.

The new version is incredibly slow on the PC

I have been using this software for years and it was great until the latest version. It works fine on the phone but in a browser on the PC it is almost unusably slow. The previous version ran fine on the same PC. I am giving 3 stars hoping it can be fixed; if not it would be 2 stars at best.

Update: I emailed tech support who responded that they were aware of this issue and suggested I use the legacy version for now. Definitely the legacy version works much better but I don’t understand how they could have released a new version that is basically unusable. Literally I have to wait a few seconds after typing each character for it to appear on the screen.

Update 2: This just keeps getting worse and worse. Now both the legacy version and the new web based version have stopped working. Am downgrading to one star until the web version is working.

The workhorse

Over the years, I’ve tried many solutions for electronic task management. Keeping items in OneNote, more GTD oriented apps. And I keep coming back to ToDo. Sync works seamlessly. The lists are highly customizable but not overwhelming that you can’t just add a task simply. The integration with Siri is a big upgrade and the premium features of being able to email tasks right to your lists is also valuable.

Getting the right version of TodoCloud rubbing can be confusing. For example, downloading ToDo for Mac from TodoCloud Store doesn’t give you the same version as the web site. Make sure you have the latest version running on all platforms for best experience!

Best one I've found for iPhone/Pad

I've been using a PC-based task manager for 20+ years and love it except for one thing: the ease of synching to a mobile device. Quite a while ago, I was very pleased when this application started supporting synch to a Palm Pilot (and we know how that eventually worked out).

Ever since the demise of PalmOS, I've tried many synch methods (always starting with a synch to Outlook), but the process was too time-consuming and error-prone.

I started using TodoCloud a couple of years ago (again syncing via Outlook), but quickly tired of the complications from synching. Then about a year ago I decided that I would use the PC app as a task manager for work items only, and use TodoCloud to track all my other tasks.

Unexpectedly, this turned out to be a very workable solution for me. I can now track my personal tasks with sufficient granularity, but now with a touch screen interface. My favorite feature is the ability to add tasks by voice through the Reminder app. This saves me an incredible amount of time (and removes any excuse for not adding tasks to my list).

Other reviewers have complained about the price of TodoCloud, but I don't agree. This is clearly a case of "you get what you pay for" and I have no problem whatsoever paying more money for this level of functionality.

Highly recommended!!

Simple to a fault but gets the job done

After a long hiatus I am again in need of a reasonable todo list sidekick. A few years ago, after extensively researching the field, I ended up installing both ToodleDo and Appigo’s ToDo, the combination synchronized to each other and the limitations of one were handled by the other.

After a few years, and a lot of small changes in TodoCloud , I found myself usen ToDo more and more and ToodleDo less and less. Now I have completely bought in to Appigo’s choices. The yearly fee is reasonable and you can still share with users of the free version.

My pet peeves are about interface choices. I am still not exactly sure how to get into some options without trial and error, and the iOS vs. the application interfaces can lead to some confusion. (I updated a couple weeks ago, as I was not really aware there were two very slightly different apps in TodoCloud Store, why?).

Appigo could use to stand back and look at the whole set of applications and interfaces, and perhaps hire a consultant to try to streamline the underlying complexity some more.

Still the best ToDo app out there though, even if it lacks all the useless bells and whistles of the more recent entrants in the field. If you like GTD methodology, this is TodoCloud for you.

Great app, and needs to grow

I’ve been using Todo Cloud for years. Works great on my phone, ipad, home and work computers. Supports separate lists based on location/topic (e.g. out & about, home, calls, different consulting gigs). The checklists are very nice too for grocery shopping, etc.

The down side is I’m pushing it to its limits for project management. It’s fine for basic, standalone projects. However, I want to capture (ala GTD) ideas for immediate and long term projects, and then chain the projects together. Let me focus on what needs to be done now, but maintain the context of why it needs to be done.

I don’t want traditional Gantt charts, though a chronological visualization of the projects, the number tasks each contain, and representation of my guesstimate as to how long it will take (another feature request) would be fantastic.

I’m not sure if that’s the way Todo Cloud wants to evolve. I’ve considered Trello and Jira, which I use at work, but they come with a lot of overhead for the simple stuff. I’d rather appigo add new features to Todo Cloud then have to use two different systems for basic and fancy todo management.
