by Poor Cancellation Policy

I would have rated 0 stars if I could. The registration process for FlashAlertMessenger is horrible! If you try to register a new account on FlashAlertMessenger , then you get in an impossible situation where you get brought back to the start screen, but no mention as to why you were not able to correctly register. I discovered, you can avoid this by going online to their website to register. Then, log in on FlashAlertMessenger . The whole app is not graphically pleasing and looks circa 1999. Sad that an emergency app is so poorly created both in its registration process and its visual appeal.

This is the worst app I’ve ever seen. Could not create a new account without jumping through a bunch of super confusing hoops that in the end brought me back to the registration page to start over. The interface of FlashAlertMessenger is horrible. Don’t bother.

App does not respond to text size nor accessibility settings. They don’t care about disabled people.

School district recommended this junk app. I don’t receive actual notifications but I get the test message.

This is unreliable and I won’t count on it in an emergency. Don’t bother if you absolutely require it.

Can’t link phone make it easier to do on the web!

Wow is this just a waste of time. I have the online account and then tried to link FlashAlertMessenger to the account and it cannot find my “token”. Well I call that a total failure.

FlashAlertMessenger crashes every time you try to open it. I’ve done the process of uninstall and reinstall and still having the issue.

Trying to open FlashAlertMessenger crashes and doesn’t load at all. Started to happen around nov 2019 and still happening on nov 2020

Does not work with latest iOS update for iPhone 8. Freezes and has to be reinstalled. It will work once then freeze again. Wash rinse repeat.

This is so strange I get alerts from flash alert but I can’t find it in my apps I can’t find it to update it when I do search for it and try to open it it crashes I can’t even delete it ridiculous it was a good app before

How could any school districts agree to use this horrible unusable app!? Just look at the reviews or try it yourself—it’s better to bookmark your district’s website on your browser. Unless FlashAlertMessenger cost the districts nothing, you can suspect some level of corruption occurred, somebody got paid to make this vote/decision.

School recommended and trying to get it on your phone is horrible. Waiting 10 minutes and still no test email. Would not recommend FlashAlertMessenger. If it were an actual emergency I would not know. Glad my kid has a cell phone so I can get a notification much faster.

Not sure how this is the option for so many org to distribute critical information. There’s no support beyond some basic info on the website about how to enable notifications and FlashAlertMessenger is undebuggable. Example, I get a message saying “Registration error! Unable to register your device. No device by token found!” Ok great. How do I fix this? Dead end road.

At first this was my number one notification for all the weather closures, but now it is a web of error messages and an app that actually doesn’t actually exist on my phone but somehow continues to send me notifications. No tech support or help seem accessible. What a disappointment.

Thanks for taking away the texting option that has always been available before. Because of that my kindergarten niece stood outside in well below freezing temps for a long time because people don’t take the time to check their emails before school. So unless you’re awake at 4:30 when the call is made, there’s a really good chance you’ll miss the FlashAlert. Not cool!

I used to like FlashAlertMessenger until I got a new phone and had to register it, but I keep getting an error message. Website has no help at all. I signed up for the text alerts so I at least know to check my email for details since it’s the fastest way to find it and out school delays.

This is literally the worst, most impossible to use app on my phone. If our school didn’t require it I would never use it.

We have been using FA for several years with reasonable success. Unfortunately, after switching to a new IPhone, I no longer get push notifications. The new one is a 5s. I've tried deleting and reregistering, and the site shows my phone. I've emailed with their tech support, and after checking all the settings, the answer given to me was that another app or program must be interfering. Okay...no fix? Apparently not. Not even a suggestion as to what might be interfering, since all the apps I have were on my old phone, except for the ones Apple added to the 5s and most recent updates. Does FA just not work with Apple anymore? Frustrating!! Especially the non response in the end.

I have successfully created an account, and successfully linked it to FlashAlertMessenger. I then managed to subscribe to one local fire department. Now, after successfully logging in, I want to add additional subscriptions. I'm asked to select a region; when I do this a scroll wheel appears. FlashAlertMessenger does not let me select ANY of the options on the scroll wheel; they ALL seem to be inactive. When I try to simply back up to the previous screen, back up, FlashAlertMessenger brings me back to the login window, and I have to log in all over again.

For an app that is supposed to be providing potential life and death information, this is an unacceptable travesty.

When you try to make an account it tells you you have to chose an organization first, which takes you away from creating an account. Then when you finish selecting an organization it takes you to the login screen which you cannot log in because you still don't have an account. So you go to create an account and it gives you the same bull shot about choosing an organization. What crap. I can't believe this is what my kids school chose to use.

Also, every time I log into FlashAlertMessenger , I receive an error that says, “Your device does not appear to be subscribed. Please try re-attaching your account.” It still shows the alerts for my school, though, and also displays a badge on FlashAlertMessenger icon when alerts get broadcast, and I’ve tried “re-attaching” my account several times, but the error persists. I’m guessing since FlashAlertMessenger hasn’t been updated in 2 years that it probly won’t ever be, but here’s hoping.

Found it in FlashAlertMessenger store thru my iPhone. Followed the instructions. Registration went smoothly. Fingers crossed it works just as well...

We have nearly 3" of snow tonight so I was expecting to see something from my app. I received a push notification showing the info and there was a badge on FlashAlertMessenger saying I had 1 alert to view. Seems to be working fine for me. I read a lot of negative reviews and was skeptical to bother downloading it. I hope it helps to know I have an iphone 6 with ios10. Good luck!

If the "attach my account" button does not work the first time, uninstall FlashAlertMessenger and reinstall it. It did not work at first, but after reinstalling it worked great! If you are creating an account, I suggest doing it on a PC or any computer, but do not use an iPad, iPhone, or any tablet because it may crash. Works fine on webpage, too.

All I care about is receiving an alert when there is new information, and that’s what I get. The simpler this remains, the better. Whatever features exist beyond that, I don’t want, need, or care about.

Looks like there was a bug with registering in the past but that seems to be fixed now.
