WJHL News Channel 11 Reviews

The new version of WJHLNewsChannel11 is completely terrible. If I had known how bad it was going to be, I wouldn’t have even updated it. WJHLNewsChannel11 used to be great and so user friendly. Now I don’t even get alerts and the radar is awful. With the old app I could easily change my location and check weather in other areas. I would delete it but there are no other local apps in the area. It’s such a shame they have changed it. It was not at all an upgrade. Please bring the old one back.

Until this week’s update, this was one of my most-used apps, but with the new update, I am deleting it.

The interactive radar no longer has the useful overlays, and the large location pin hides the radar at the location you want to see. It went from being an app that was a marvel to an apparent throwback to the early 2000s.

I do not understand why they would do this. Surely any new information (closings, etc) could have been integrated into the old app without destroying it completely.

Right now, I am using WCBD Charleston’s weather app, which is the old, good app. At least for now.

WJHLNewsChannel11 is buggy and has been that way for a year now. You can’t read a news article because WJHLNewsChannel11 freezes halfway through. WJHLNewsChannel11 is currently useless until the bugs are fixed.

Yeah the old version crashed but this new version is a jumbled mess, good luck finding any info on a news worthy subject on WJHLNewsChannel11. You have to sort through countless ads to read the news article, WJHL why are there no less than 5 ads per page?

The goofy Barney Fife (Bath stuffer) ad is annoying. The ads get in the way and load before stories or updates to the news. I know you need funding for a free app but I’m actually losing hope in the news and annoyed by the advertisers for the poor ads placed. App seem sluggish and non responsive at times. Still one star since zero isn’t an option. Disappointed!

Please fix WJHLNewsChannel11. It is constantly freezing or crashing. On the rare opportunity that I can actually read an article, half the time the article is incomplete or covered up my ads.

I love the availability of quality local content, live stream news, and video on demand. And my favorite thing is your radar, which is easier to navigate and better than the NOAA website.
BUT I CANT ENJOY READING ANY NEWS ARTICLE BECAUSE, HALFWAY THROUGH, A POP UP ASKING ME TO SIGN UP FOR A NEWSLETTER COMES ON THE SCREEN (I have already signed up for it twice) AND I CANT REMOVE IT WITHOUT ENTERING MY EMAIL AND HITTING SUBMIT BECAUSE THE X FOR CLOSING THE POP UP IS HIDDEN BEHIND THE HEADER!!!
For this reason I am deleting WJHLNewsChannel11 ! It’s making WJHLNewsChannel11 useless to me!!!!!

I am 23 years old, and enjoy nc11. Nevertheless, WJHLNewsChannel11 always crashes. I can never get through all their news before it happens. I have downloaded it multiple time and contacted NC11 about the problem but they offer no solution other than to try downloading it again. Honestly, low quality for the high standards they have.

It seems to lockup and not allow you to scroll on iPhone when you go to a story from a notification lately. Really frustrating when you reopen WJHLNewsChannel11 and the story is nowhere to be found and the notification is gone. Read lots of half articles lately.

The updated version is much more difficult to use. It took me five minutes to find the live news feed, and I've yet to find a direct link on the home page. The old version was much easier to maneuver. Please add the love news feed to the home page.

It would be great to have more headliner news right at the start / open page instead of having to search for it in the headers.

The news section is ok, not great. I mostly wanted WJHLNewsChannel11 for the weather feature. But to find an hourly precipitation breakdown is not easy. I just want to see it when I open the weather section, and not have to hunt for it.

Like to read updates. Only thing is sometimes updates come in pretty early in morning and even on vibrate it sometimes disturbs my rest.

Great way to get updates on news and weather relevant to the region.

WJHLNewsChannel11 keeps me informed about breaking local and national news. It is news, not politics like on cnn or foxnews. I like it a lot.

As usual with WJHL, WJHLNewsChannel11 is horrible. Not easy to use and I have found more things written by AP than local writers. I stopped watching it on TV because it stated to remind me of CNN. WJHLNewsChannel11 is no different. Bye bye WJHL. You will not be missed.

Not user friendly. Will probably delete app. Old format much better. Tried to fix or improve,but it didn't need to be fixed or improved!

The last version was better. In the new one it's hard to find stuff. Lay out of the old one was better.

Site does not navigate easily. I mainly use WJHLNewsChannel11 to get breaking news and traffic.

I get the wrong weather alerts. The alerts I receive are for Mount Carmel, TN (Greene County) but I live in Mount Carmel, TN (Hawkins County). Yes, there are two Mount Carmel’s within 50 miles of each other. If this is corrected I will re-rate to five stars. Thank you.

Stories tend to be short with promise to cover more of it but I never see the follow up very often.

Is WJHLNewsChannel11 free? I downloaded it and nowhere did I see a price on it.
