It shows where the busses are located at exactly (the green busses) are the ones you want to search for to know when the next one will be approaching your bus stop. Sometimes, there are delays but it should still be accurate and not far off. I like METROTrip is VERY convenient to get around especially if you are on a time bind. It will tell you specifically when the next bus is coming even if a delay happens. Y’all should get METROTrip if you guys ride the Metro. Super convenient honestly. It shows you the routes the bus number is taking and the path and all the stops etc. If you are lost this is another way to quickly find where you are. It’s like a GPS as well as a bus scheduler put into 1.

I found METROTrip very helpful. It allowed me to get to school. There were a couple of times within the 3yrs that used it when buses were running late or wouldn’t show up at all, so I wish Metro could keep METROTrip updated with that info. Other than that i thought it was pretty easy to use and helpful.

METROTrip is fairly accurate until it isn’t. I’ve seen arrival/schedule times jump up and down witching seconds of inquiring of the next arrival. It doesn’t really warn you of unexpected delays as they happen. Difficult to stay close to approximate times as well when most but not all bus drivers are diligent to stay on schedule.

This is a great and very useful app but sometimes it has its issues. Currently one of the issues is that when I try to plan a trip a few hours ahead, it won’t let me adjust the time. It only gives me the option to tap on the current time.

There are no words to describe how frustrating it is to needlessly stand in the rain for twenty minutes because METROTrip has gives no alert when the busses/trains stop running.

METROTrip is a joke. It tells you when trains/busses are SCHEDULED to arrive, not when they actually do. For instance, according to METROTrip , the train just left the station I am sitting at. In reality, no train came. Other cities like DC have had apps that tell you exactly where the bus is and have had them for YEARS. I don’t understand why Houston can’t have that.

It stopped working without even getting an update. Probably has to do either with metro's or Google maps servers. The next transport, change location, and many other services in METROTrip have stopped loading. I can only get it to load like 1/100 of the time. It just sits there forever saying loading or searching and then finally this window pops up saying network time out or something like that. I'm on iPhone 5s iOS 8. The same ios I was on when it was working. METROTrip hasn't had updates so that's not the problem. All my other apps work fine. Google maps by itself works fine too. Obviously to do with the metro servers or the metro servers working with the updated Google servers.

Most of the time METROTrip works fine sometimes it freezes or crashes.

It’s been a few months now but METROTrip doesn’t time the buses accurately anymore... it’s off by over 5 minutes .. not Real Time ... I recommend you text Metro “Bus Stop #” and you will get a return message is closer to real time by 2-3 min

METROTrip is very inaccurate. Unless the bus is a ghost, I don’t see them at the stop when METROTrip says arriving in 1 minute then it quickly jumps to arriving in 14 minutes. I don’t think it tracks the actual bus, but rather just follows the bus schedule.

Real time data in text format only and it didn’t seem to change as the bus moved. Show me a graphic: map with bus icon. Doesn’t allow user to filter out the routes of no interest.

App was reasonably accurate until one day it just stopped giving estimated or scheduled times.

METROTrip was so confusing and not helpful at all. Already deleted it and would not recommend.

METROTrip told me my bus was gonna arrive at 10:45 but failed to mention the detours that the bus had to take leaving me stranded for 30 minutes

The 412 is never where the GPS says it is. Very frustrating when you are trying to get to work on time :(

Why isn’t METROTrip working

In detail: METROTrip will have a "real time" counter that is supposed to tell you in how many minutes the bus will reach you. This "real time" feature is essentially a lie. If you make the logical assumption that this feature would mean that METROTrip is tracking the GPS location of the bus and comparing it to how far away your bus stop is, you are wrong. Oftentimes, the "real time" counter will tell you that the bus has already passed your stop (by displaying the time until the next bus arrives) when, in fact, the bus has never passed you. The "real time" counter will tell you that a bus is at your stop when it is nowhere near you.

Despite how irritating this is, the only thing more irritating is when you call Metro customer service to tell them about this problem, and you are told that you must not understand how the system is supposed to work, instead of writing down your complaint and submitting it for resolution.

I hate your buses Metro. Your trains are so regular and wonderful, but your buses make me incredibly angry and frustrated. Your app is the icing on the completely non-functional street transport system around the medical center.

The "next transport" search is amazing-- but only when the bus you're waiting for actually has a GPS. When the bus has a GPS, you get a real-time estimate for the arrival of your bus. This would make Houston public transit so much more usable. No more 30 min waits at the bus stop in the blazing sun or pouring rain would be a dream come true! Some days all of my bus routes have real-time tracking and other days I'm only able to get the scheduled time of arrival. For anyone who's ever used the bus system in this city, you know the scheduled time is basically meaningless.

When the real-time tracking isn't available, you're much better off using Google Maps. It's faster and easier to use.

I've been hearing promises of GPS in all buses for years. Glad to see it's finally functioning in some buses, I guess that's an improvement.

Overall, METROTrip is fine. The limitations are with the bus system!

Don't know why METROTrip got such low ratings. It tells the time when the bus arrives and the time I will be at my destination. It also plans my trip for me. There is one thing, please always continuous make METROTrip better.

Update 9/2/16:
Down grade from a 5 to a 4. METROTrip is not entirely accurate. Told I needed to wait 20 minutes for the next bus. I was about to turn back and just drive. Then a new bus arrived. I had to run to catch it.
