Wanted to love it. Functionality issues.

I turned over a new leaf in the new year and wanted to have Mywellness as a partner on my fitness journey. I discovered Mywellness as a compatible workout tracker for the cardio and strength equipment at Lifetime Fitness. Things were smooth sailing when synching to a treadmill or stairclimber. I can even tolerate the clunky interface for manually inputting a stretching routine (ideally Mywellness would remember my most popular stretches and give the option of repeating a recent routine, rather than requiring every workout to be entered through a cumbersome effort of searching and scrolling). My frustration hit its max when trying to add elements of my strength routine, only to find those lists in Mywellness were completely blank pages. No items listed. Just a blank white screen. Additionally some of the compatible QR codes on the gym equipment just register as an error in Mywellness . What gives. How is one to track the complete beast mode workout? It leaves me wanting to search for another app that log my activity in a more comprehensive way. With the hope of keeping my new leaf turned.

Pros:
- some equipment syncs directly via cloud
- stretching offers 6-10 sec video demo

Cons:
- content incomplete. No strength content.
- cumbersome steps to log activity
- QR codes nonfunctional on some strength equipment.

So much wasted potential

So I go through the trouble of entering a dozen exercises as part of a workout, and Mywellness does nothing to remember what weights and reps I used. If I want to do the same workout, I have to enter thirty six data points all over again, and can’t track my progress. Leave aside that the QR reader doesn’t even attempt inter compatibility, so if your gym has more than one manufacturer, you’re screwed. Want to add TRX to your workout? No option for data entry. The features Mywellness does have are of questionable utility because the server times out if you want video guidance. Mywellness is supposed to interconnect with the iPhone health data, but does it? No. Then the calorie numbers seem entirely fictional, so it’s questionable whether I’m getting any accurate info from day to day. If Mywellness worked the way it should, it would be five stars, but because they half-assed everything, it’s not just worthless, but wasted my time. Infuriating.

Fun smart app!

So quick accessible and easy to use ! Love seeing and being able to track my progress just by one touch of a button. I just wish class bookings could be cancelled the same day to avoid having to make a phone call. It would also be nice if videos photos and journals or notes could be saved here to better track workout status diet plans and weight loss.

Great potential, poorly executed

I’m on a journey of fitness that requires I keep up with my efforts so that I know where To push it at. When I saw the QR on the machine , I immediately downloaded, thinking great now I can log everything. Well, I was only left with disappointment. I spent more time trying to get Mywellness to log and save each workout then I should have. I’m a pretty patient person, but this was beyond frustrating. Mywellness did not recall any of my entries except my first and last. I had to keep re-entering my reps each set which was causing me to feel like I was losing my “mojo” while lifting. I’m so disappointed that Mywellness didn’t do what it advertised. Really feel like this could have been a game changer to my logging process.

Start and Stop Times are Incorrect

My biggest issue with Mywellness is that whenever I log a cardio session (treadmill, bicycle, etc.) the data that gets pushed to the Apple Health app shows the workout start time and end time as the same. The duration will show the correct time but inside the data those start and end times are incorrect. Lately, I haven’t been getting my rings exercise rings closed and I wonder if this is the issue. Glad to provide examples but this is definitely a bug within Mywellness that needs to be addressed by devs. Will gladly update rating after the fix.

Easy to use

App is simple to use & has reminders so you don’t miss a class. If a class is full, you can be wait listed & then notified when space becomes available.

Not accurate

There are several reasons I gave this One star, mostly because it’s accuracy. The different activities do not represent correctly the activity level or effort . For example swimming... Mywellness tracks how long, not how far. So if the user swims 100 yards in 1/2 hour or 1600 yards, the results are the same. Secondly and my biggest issue is that you cannot back date a workout. I don’t lug my phone with me when I workout. I typically update it later, but if you forget to log your activity, too bad so sad. I really want Mywellness to work but it needs work and R&D needs to address how people will really use it.

Terrible

Mywellness is so slow, takes forever to return screens so you think it isn’t working. Half the time the request times out, it is always making me login again and i think it wants me to login every time but can’t quite figure that out until it tries to process a request. I’ve tried to book a spot for a spin class and spent 30-45 minutes today doing it already and still haven’t been successful. Ridiculous And my network works fine. Everything else is working and I’m right near the router

Almost There

I use Mywellness a lot at my gym with the Run Excite Treadmills. Easily connects my profile and tracks everything. Unfortunately, there are two things missing, but both related to the Apple Watch. Can never get my Apple Watch app to connect and my heart rate isn’t captured through the Apple Watch. Fix these two things and you’ll get 6 stars.

It has potential

I used Mywellness for lifting weights. The lifting machines had QR codes and I was able to quickly log workouts. This is a very nice feature! The downside of Mywellness is it that I’m not able to find previous workout quickly and easily. It is possible to do so, but it is not user friendly, quick and easy to do. This part needs improvement.

By

Missing some features

Looks like you cannot change from Km to Miles. My intention of downloading Mywellness was to hopefully to create and save treadmill workouts in Mywellness because doing it on the treadmill is tedious. However, I don’t see the option to create workouts that would then sync with the treadmills. Happy to see the developers monitoring the reviews here and making changes.

Always Excellent

Barbara classes are always excellent. She puts a lot of effort into preparation and it shows. Her positive attitude is engaging and she strives to involve everyone in the playfulness of the class.
She is amazing. We are lucky to have her.

NEED TO FIX CALORIES BURNED

I love using this at my gym but there is something wrong with the algorithm used for calories burned. There is no way I burn over 1800 calories in my strength training, 30 min walk on the treadmill and hour gentle yoga class. My granddaughter burned a little over 4500 doing a 1/2 Ironman. No way. Please fix.

By

Poor functionality

It seems most of the time I attempt to use Mywellness, I’m waiting for class schedules to load that don’t, if I try to search other clubs it pulls up nothing, and when I scan the AR codes on machinery it doesn’t work. I don’t usually complain about this sort of thing but in this case it’s frustrating because the issues aren’t limited to a single one.

The exercises are not loading for workout programs.

Mywellness , at the moment, is not user friendly. I have a program designed by my facility that I can open, but once I am in the program, there are no exercises. It shows the time, the amount of exercises that need to be done, but NO exercises!!! Please fix.

Amazing

If anyone could combine professional, friendly, and
concerned physical therapy,
it would be your team at
Burke. Thanks again for
making me feel welcomed.

Pls fix bugs

I like tracking my workouts but I think they’ve abandoned Mywellness . I tried sending feedback off Mywellness but that did not work either.

My message to the developers:
“The elliptical machines are stuck at 10 minutes. None of them or the exercise options will let me change the time. Pls fix. Otherwise it’s a great app. Thanks!”

Best Instructor in Tampa!

Angie is the best instructor in Tampa!!!! I was super excited to join Avent Health for the sole purpose of taking her classes!

App stopped recording strength training in Apple Watch

Prior to the most recent update Mywellness told my Apple Watch when I did a strength training workout and it recorded it on my watch as exercise. Since the new update the actual workout shows on my watch for which moves to complete, but when finished I don’t get credit in the exercise tracker.

Fix the fix

I’ve been using Mywellness for 2 years and it’s been very helpful. The most recent update has been miserable. Constantly crashes. Can’t see updates to weights and reps easily. Very disappointing. Might be going back to pen and paper if not fixed soon.

Great App

Works great with YMCA, can sync it with their equipment, can add classes, free weights and so forth. You are able to track your workouts throughout the week. You can still do a lot if your not a member at YMCA. What I love the most about Mywellness is that it has videos that show you how to properly do each workout (machine, free weights, body weight and stretching as well). I definitely recommend Mywellness.

By

Beta at best

It would be far more useful if the developers had checked their api integrations, particularly the part where treadmill running gets imported as cross training and distance gets imported as zero and time gets imported missing two digits. E.g. I run 6.3 miles on a treadmill in 52 minutes and 32 seconds. this app writes the workout to HealthKit as “0 miles, 852 calories, 0 minutes, 52 seconds.” Beta at best.

By

wasted potential

So poorly executed, doesn’t save data. What’s the use of linking with the machine I’m on if it doesn’t save the data? Also doesn’t save/remember last reps or weights used. Has a way to log your wait times between sets, but no actual timer and then doesn’t even bother to save the logs. This was a waste of time downloading a useless app.

By

Search barely works

Between the equipment not connecting to the internet and not letting me log in and never being able to search for anything I’d give Mywellness 2 stars for the times it does decide to work.

By

It would be lovely if they pushed data to health app

Right now, they just pull Data from health app and don’t push. Kind of annoying because I use multiple apps related to Health.

By

Worst update ever

They removed all barbell workouts. Including bent over row, squats, barbell bench press. I don’t know how to check my workouts anymore. Plus i sent them lots of in-app feedback and they don’t bother. Very bad, unless they remove what they did, I won’t recommend anyone using it.

By

Waste of time

You can spend 10 minutes entering everything you did into Mywellness , only for it to calculate some number for you and then delete everything you entered. No idea why anyone uses this.

By

apple health import doesn’t work

Mywellness writes to my apple health, and that’s great. it doesn’t read from my apple health, which is problematic. that data would be helpful for an accurate MOVES count.

By

Doesn’t write to Apple HealthKit correctly

It gets calories right, which is something, but the durations, heart rate, and exercise names are all wrong.

Negative experience overall, I can't scan the QR code of the equipment in my facility and it is inconsistent in letting me enter the workout manually.

Worst app ever

Michael   2 years ago

This is the absolute worst app ever for recording activity! I run 5 miles every morning, go on a 2 mile dog walk, do heavy cardio for 30 minutes and lift weights for an hour every day. This stupid app calls me a “low activity” person. Can’t wait to bash them on all of social media.

App askes me to sign in via Facebook Email or Google it was working last night dont know what has happened cannot get back into it ive deleted it and reloaded the app

I am still trying to understand the problem exactly, but it seems likely that the My Wellness App that I have recently installed has used all of my mobile data allowance, despite the fact that I was at home and connected to WiFi. Any ideas / solutions please??
