Good Concept, Needs ALOT of work

I was excited to try fit52withCarrieUnderwood but I’m am really glad I only signed up for the free trial. I did the beginner workout and the very first exercise was a burpee? For a beginner? That’s not really the issue though. Of the 26 exercises I did, literally only 6 of them were anything other than burpees or squats and those were still only compromised of 2 other exercises (Superman’s and arm curls). So 20 out of 26 exercises were either a burpee or a squat. Naturally, the burpees always seemed to land on the card with the highest # of reps and were often back to back. Not only was it too hard for a beginner, it was plain ole boring. Needless to say, I have already declined to move past the free trial. This workouts need a lot more variety before I’d even consider purchasing.

I’m so sad because I have been LOVING doing the six days of workouts in Carrie’s book. I’ve gone through them a number of times. I love using the cards variety and unpredictability of what’s coming next. And they are amazing workouts!! I downloaded fit52withCarrieUnderwood to get some new workouts to switch it up. I hate the way fit52withCarrieUnderwood works. I like using my own cards and going at my own pace. But fit52withCarrieUnderwood sometimes is too slow, sometimes too fast. I had to pause it multiple times then press the fast forward button and then it told me I couldn’t skip anymore exercises even though I didn’t actually skip any workouts. I felt like I was on my phone half the time. Plus none of the moves were any different from the ones in the book. I love the concept so I’ll probably just find some workouts online and adapt them to use the cards because I have loved that. You can’t even look through different workouts without starting and going through the whole thing. It keeps giving me notifications that I’m changing “my path.” I’ll stick with it for another week until my trial runs out, but then I’m out.

I echo the many others here that it’s just too repetitive :( The sequencing gives you the same exercise sometimes 4-5 times in a row. I get that it’s supposed to simulate “randomness” with a card deck, but if there’s only 4 exercises to “pull from” for that workout, it is quite boring. So, that doesn’t practically work for a balanced workout. Sure, you’ll be sore—but, too many of a few things (especially for novices) can lead to over-fatigue & poor form...which we know is not developing the muscles properly & can cause injury. There’s a great foundation of exercises & the little videos are fun, but the library needs to be expanded big time. Perhaps even allow us to “like” our favorite moves? Sequence out the moves more equally? I say all this as a huge Carrie fan & a group fitness instructor, myself. So, great start & eager to see the improvements!

Great concept but needs more variety

fit52withCarrieUnderwood works very well in it’s simplicity. While there are multiple avenues for improvement the biggest issue I’m having right now that’s making me stop using it is the variety. I fit a quick workout in in the morning, the half workouts are fantastic for this, but doing 2 to 3 exercises for a half hour just doesn’t work for me. You finish lunges and it tells you to get ready for lunges, Repeat that three times. Or maybe throw superman in the middle but then you’re doing lunges again. With 52 cards you would think you wouldn’t get the same exercise 2! 3, or 4 times in a row or not even with one different one in the middle and then again.

One addition I would love to request is the ability to set what equipment you have for the possibility of harder or more advanced exercises. I love being able to get a half workout in on the two days a week I don’t have a lot of time in the morning and then get a full work out but something more advanced the than the other days.

Great exercises but glitchy technology

The workouts are great but fit52withCarrieUnderwood is glitchy. Oftentimes, fit52withCarrieUnderwood will shut off once I’m more than halfway through the workout, and when I re-open fit52withCarrieUnderwood it takes me back to exercise No. 8 or something early on, and I can’t skip back to where I left off. Additionally, this is the only exercise app I use that “loses connection” multiple times a week. I’ll be part way through a workout and then have to switch to a different app because this one decides it doesn’t want to cooperate. On the occasion fit52withCarrieUnderwood allows me to complete a workout, I feel as though I’ve gotten a good one in.

Lots of back to back exercises and little focus on abdominals

At first I really liked the challenge of fit52withCarrieUnderwood and enjoyed the full body workout. But with time I became frustrated that the exercises focus very heavily on cardio and legs and the exercise back to back for a good potion of the session, all great but not what I was looking for. In Carrie’s book she mentions how toning her midsection has always been the toughest area for her to target, same for me, so I was hopeful to find some exercises for that. Mountain climbers help but I need a bit more than that. Unfortunately won’t be renewing my subscription, there are other apps that are free that allow you to focus more on certain areas. Great app if you want a good cardio workout.

Great addition to the book

Hello- I love Carrie’s book and how it has diversified my workouts! I tried fit52withCarrieUnderwood for the first time tonight and I like it, it pushes you to keep up with the exercises! I downloaded fit52withCarrieUnderwood to add more exercises to the 6 that were offered in the book.

My couple of comments are in relation to the equipment for the workouts, the book offers a great variety of equipment to work every part of the body. I have found after looking through the different paths that all of them just suggest dumbbells, will there be more of a variety added to these as well? It would be great too see some additions. Overall I love the Fit52 concept and working to be the best version of me I can be!

Great tool with one downfall.

I have been using fit52withCarrieUnderwood for almost a month now. I ended up choosing to buy 3 months worth of use to be sure I’d not get bored. I haven’t had any issue with extreme repetition of movements as other reviewers have. When an exercise gets repeated I consider it a mental challenge & just “luck of the draw”. I love the variety of moves from workout to workout. I’m hitting all the major zones without using the same exercises.
Cons:
The only con I have is that I wish I could just go through a list of full or half workouts and choose one rather than the need to commit to a certain “path”. I’d like to save a few favorite workouts to repeat on a day I don’t have time to shuffle through. I don’t always have time to commit to a full workout daily but in order to do a half on any certain day I have to leave my current path and choose a different one. Not a huge deal but definitely makes me consider whether to go beyond the 3 month purchase.

LOVE the workouts. Hoping for enhanced App soon.

I LOVE the workouts available in fit52withCarrieUnderwood and the concept behind fit52withCarrieUnderwood . I’m a Fit52 fan all the way. However, a few features that I’d like to see added to fit52withCarrieUnderwood include: 1) in-app volume control (the voice in fit52withCarrieUnderwood is quieter then the music app I use; wish I could control fit52withCarrieUnderwood volume independently), 2) Would love info button to describe major muscles being worked during each exercise, and 3) ability to create a list of ‘favorite’ exercises (so perhaps once a week I could create my own Favorites workout). Truly though, fit52withCarrieUnderwood has motivated me to get my workout routine back on track after a 3 year hiatus while becoming a parent.

I read Carrie’s book “Find Your Path” and I was so excited to start her workout program. I love the concept, my workout is always fresh and different. The variety in the exercises and how I can watch the move and also read the descriptions has helped me learn so much. The only thing I would like to see is the reps counted out. The exercise and rep count are announced and then I don’t hear anything until the next exercise is ready. I highly recommend fit52withCarrieUnderwood and reading her book. So great!

Great Fitness App!

I have loved using fit52withCarrieUnderwood to get back in shape. I love that there are so many levels of workouts and paths to accommodate even the busiest lifestyles. All of the workouts are HIIT style workouts, and I get an awesome full body workout in a short time right from home, without a ton of extra equipment. I love how the workouts keep changing it up, get more difficult over time to keep me challenged, and the way that fit52withCarrieUnderwood is designed to help me stay accountable and motivated. I have recommended fit52withCarrieUnderwood to so many of my friends. Love it!!!!

This program saved my life. I started it in March 2020 and quickly noticed changes to my body. My arm and legs were getting toned and I was feeling stronger but at the same time my stomach was getting bigger. In May I called my doctor and she sent me for tests. They found a 15lb tumor on my ovaries . I had surgery to remove it and was diagnosed with stage 1 ovarian cancer. My doctor told me I was so lucky I noticed the changes to my body because the outcome would have been much different if I waited. I was able to start back with the program at the end of August.

I love the format of this fitness app! I have struggled for a long time finding a fitness routine that I can get into. I’ve always said I’m kind of a fitness dummy... I don’t have common sense when it comes to exercising. I’ve tried so many apps, etc that I just end up quitting eventually bc they’re either too difficult for me or I just can’t figure out how to work them. I’m new to Fit 52, but so far I am in love!! Finally something I can understand and feel like I just got the best workout!!

Good variety of exercises and motivation

I think fit52withCarrieUnderwood could be beneficial to anyone regardless of fitness level. Very easy to use so anyone can navigate it. It seems to have a lot of ways you can adjust your workouts based on equip. you have. You can skip/delete/replace exercises you may not like or maybe you aren't able to do right now (and it appears you can add them back at any point although I have not done this). You can interact as much/little as you want with others on fit52withCarrieUnderwood . The badges you earn are set to challenging, yet attainable levels.

From Beachbody to Fit52

For years I have done Beachbody & I finally got to a point where I wanted more simplicity in my workouts. No workout calendar, no specific program...just simple tailored to me programs and that is what Fit52 provides for me, simplicity. I also love that Fit52 looks at fitness from the perspective of making fitness a part of your weekly/daily routine and that it is just something you should do like brushing your teeth. It doesn’t have to be strenuous to work it can be simple half workouts or the 13 card draw. Again, you can truly tailor based on your needs, time, and even the equipment you have on hand. I love it and am so appreciative of Eve & Carrie for creating it.

By far the Best workout App

I’ve gone through so many workout apps and always get bored after awhile. The way fit52withCarrieUnderwood is designed, it’s always something new. I love that I can personalize the workouts and that there are always new moves being incorporated. I can ask see the difference with how much stronger I am when fit52withCarrieUnderwood will throw in older moves I used to struggle with and now down. I’m constantly recommending fit52withCarrieUnderwood to my friends and family that not only want something new and fun but that always challenges you in some way. The only issue I have is that I have to sign in to fit52withCarrieUnderwood every day, doesn’t keep me logged in but honestly that may just be user error 😅. Keep up the great work with fit52withCarrieUnderwood.

Hi there! As most other folks, I’ve tried workout apps (successful to most) that charge $100 plus. Were they pretty good, sure. Did I see the results like I am with Fit52? Nope. Those other apps were focused on having specific ‘leg day, back day, chest day etc’. With Fit52 you have every muscle group in each work out. This is why I’ve seen personal changes within the short amount of time this application has been deployed. I don’t like complex exercises (even though those Hindu push ups are still to be mastered) I want to focus on how I’m working my body and muscles vs new confusing movement. This workout gives that, plus more. Thank you everyone on the bank end of this workout app, the teachers within the workout and Carrie for sharing!

Completely sold on Fit52!

As a huge Carrie fan, I’ll try anything she promotes! While many of my workouts do involve some form of “Carrie, why do you hate me?!”, I absolutely LOVE fit52withCarrieUnderwood and the workout I’m getting from it. Before using Fit52, my workouts consisted of running on the treadmill and using the express circuit at my gym. Now, I’m learning new exercises and I feel like I’m challenging myself every day. I thought I was going to collapse when I did my first 2 beginner workouts in March and now I’m on Carrie’s path and am doing 5 intermediate workouts per week! I love that I can see the strength I’m gaining and the improvement I’m making.

Sometimes I felt like there wasn’t enough variety each day, but that has been improved upon in the last handful of updates. I also really enjoy being able to reveal the workout ahead of time. It’s nice to be able to switch an exercise out if I need to or don’t have the equipment for it.

It has been so nice to have fit52withCarrieUnderwood when I can’t go to the gym anyway. Without it, I probably wouldn’t be working out at all right now. And the Carrie accountability is amazing! Can’t disappoint Carrie, gotta workout!

Fit52 is everything I was looking for in a workout. I’ve been a “gym junkie,” you could say, since early 2016, so I’ve been through many different styles of workouts. For the last 2 years or so, I’ve done my normal cardio routine at the gym on an elliptical, then strength training for an hour or so. It wasn’t only time consuming, but it didn’t break a sweat. I had a rut going and didn’t know it.

Fit52 is formatted for every person, beginner to advanced, and your body doesn’t have time to adjust to the exercises bc they’re always changing. If your body adjusts to an exercise, it’s not a good thing and form is everything. You have easy demonstrations, break periods (but not too long), and a bunch of variety. I got the book by Carrie too, which has helped me live a healthier lifestyle. I’d highly recommend this to anyone I know (and, I have).

I love the variety of workouts and that you can switch cards and alternate and then fit52withCarrieUnderwood customizes based on your wants for a workout. I like the recipes that are also shared :) And I like hearing Carrie Underwood’s voice with an encouragement statement at the end of my workout. I also like seeing her feeds and other peoples’ posts, it really does feel like a community.

My wishes: when the exercise has 3 seconds left, it would be helpful if fit52withCarrieUnderwood beeped as a countdown so you know you’re almost done with a card; Sometimes i miss it and then the next card starts and I’m not quite ready especially when I have music playing over fit52withCarrieUnderwood . It would also be nice if fit52withCarrieUnderwood showed calories burned for each workout and if there were more 15mins workout. Im finding some are either too short or longer than the time I have.

Just completed my first “52” challenge and overall I thought the experience was fairly pleasant and I liked the challenge. However, as someone with prior knee injuries, there are certain exercises I’m not able to do well (lunges) and it would be nice to be able to replace a particular exercise(s) with a different one that targets the same muscle group. Also, would love the ability to preview the workout so I know what equipment/dumbbells I will need..

This program is definitely interesting and fun to work out to! I love the creativity and the time clock. I love the deck of cards idea too and how it changes up on you as if you were shuffling through a deck of cards. Can’t wait to really get into the program even after my first day!
