Doesn’t work with iPhone 7

2022-05-21

All I can say is WOW, what a waste of time. I downloaded VoltageMail but it does not work for iPhone even though he tutorial shows it working on an iPhone. When I tried to use it VoltageMail even says and I quote...

“The message you are attempting to view on your mobile device is encrypted with Voltage SecureMail. Voltage encrypted messages are not supported on your mobile device at this time. To view this message, please open this message on your computer.”

Not user-friendly

2022-06-22

It took me several attempts to figure out how to access my document, and I am not computer illiterate. No reason it needs to be so difficult unless that is supposed to be an added later of security. Hopefully identity thieves can't figure it out either. Pressing and holding does not work at all to open the document from Gmail on an iPhone. Very frustrating experience using VoltageMail. I apparently have no other choice to be able to open a secure document from Kaiser on my phone.

Worse App EVER

2022-07-23

I was not able to establish an account. Never received an email asking to authenticate my email address. I tried to uninstall and then reinstall - still didn’t work. Okay, well I thought let’s try it on a different device using a different email address, still didn’t work! I give up. VoltageMail is definitely not user friendly nor helpful! I wish I could give it a “0”.

Terrible

2022-08-24

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I hate VoltageMail. I hate that our customers are forced to use it because of the company I work for. Out of the over 100 people who I’ve told to download VoltageMail in order to open the email on a mobile device, maybe 2 were able to get it to work.
We get an obscene number of phone calls and emails saying “I can’t open this email!” and VoltageMail is the last resort any of us ever use to try to help our customers open the emails because it’s such crap. We would rather tell people to go to their local library to open their secure email on a desktop then tell them to open it with VoltageMail. You’d get it open sooner driving to the library then you would with this.

Fail Completely with Gmail Mobile App

2022-09-25

The subject line says it all. Per instructions, I pressed and held the attachment icon when reading email using Gmail app. SecureMail app was already installed. I got no response from it whatsoever. You folks need to test your app under a wider range of email apps. I know testing under a wide spectrum of environments takes time and money, but it is a vital part of the software development process (I developed software professionally for 38 years, so I know this well). PLEASE MAKE THE EFFORT TO DO IT RIGHT.

Waste of time

2022-10-26

This is a horrible app. Once you sign in and try to download your document all you get to do it view it in the program. It doesn't download and there is no back button. So you have to close it, go back to the email, press and hold the attachment, select open in voltage, re enter your password, then enter another verification, and you finally get to select view or download document. But the joke is on you, both selections do the same thing and you cannot actually download and print anything. And with no back button, you end up wasting a lot of time

Very Bad Unusable App

2022-11-27

I’ve been trying to use VoltageMail to open a secure message from Wells Fargo for over 45 minutes and there is no way to get it to work. The website online has 404 errors and is complexly unhelpful, and VoltageMail is stuck in the 6 introductory “this is how to use it” screens. There’s a “?” on the last screen that links to FAQs and they are completely unhelpful. They keep saying the same thing about how to use VoltageMail to open secure emails - I GET IT - but it never shows how to create an account with the stupid Voltage software which you need to open anything in the first place. This software is garbage. The website and VoltageMail are not user friendly and it shouldn’t take 45 minutes to unsuccessfully open one email.

Voltage mail fail

2022-12-28

Moses tried to use this, couldn't get it to work, and decided to carve stone tablets instead.
Wow. This is impressive because it doesn’t just fail in one way. There are layers of failure here... initial failure to open email, failure of help system- different pages tell you to do different conflicting things and none work, and then you find what appears to be a path towards success and that also fails.
It’s secure though, because no one - not even the intended recipient - can get email thru this system.
Back to snail mail we go! 😱

Impossible to open my email

2023-01-29

This absolutely the worst secure email service I have ever been involved with. They don’t recognize my secure password, they locked me out after numerous attempts, they continually indicate that the will send me a rest for my password since I have been locked out. They never send the reset. Using this service is about as bad as it can possibly be. To spend over two hours trying to open an email is disgusting

Didn't work on iPhone

2023-03-02

Nope. Does not work. The directions say to click the "share to" button in the email you want to open, and then click on "copy to voltage." This didn't work for me because apple doesn't give voltage as an option in the "share to " list. Did not find any instructions about alternate methods or ways to make this appear in the list. Waste of time. Deleted. I really hate voltage in general. You shouldn't need an app. Every secure email I've used before could be opened just fine on a mobile phone.

Businesses, don’t make your customers suffer!

2023-03-31

I am 20 minutes into trying to open a secure email from my refinance company, no luck. I installed the secure mail app on my iPad, but the attachment won’t open in VoltageMail , there is no option, and I keep going back to the same web page asking me to install VoltageMail .
VoltageMail shouldn’t exist! Businesses, PLEASE DONT USE IT! You will torture your customers. I will tell my refinance guy as much, I hope they are not paying money fur such a junk product.

Way to make it user UNFriendly

2023-05-02

You guys don’t get how painful your apps are to use? First off, there’s no way to extract attachments on iPhone. That’s after going through a laughable sequence of clicks to even open the email. Next, there’s no easy way to download all attachments even on desktop.
I’m forced to use your app to forward docs from work but I avoid using it to email a third party non corporate account.
Everything so cumbersome I know how frustrating it will be a new user to read them.

Desk top works

2023-06-02

The desktop version worked like a charm. It was easy to use and not a hassle.

Unfortunately VoltageMail would not register that I had logged in and would keep bribing me back to the log in screen.

Will have to delete VoltageMail and get the process done in my desktop.

Thumbs down

2023-07-04

VoltageMail is generally terrible, it works well only occasionally and sporadically. I have to use it for work so unfortunately I’m stuck with it. It typically takes me 4-7 tries to sign in because when I open an email and Voltage prompts me to login securely, VoltageMail quits. I’m lucky if I can sign in and read a secure email on the 2nd or 3rd try. I usually will uninstall and then reinstall VoltageMail but there doesn’t seem to be any fix in the near future. Avoid it if you can

Must use Apple Mail

2023-08-04

Long press in gmail doesn’t work. I had to re-download Apple Mail, add my gmail to VoltageMail , find the email, long press the attachment, go to VoltageMail list, then “more,” and then click on “copy to Voltage Mail.” This worked for me to access the document although it times out. Technically the instructions do specify that you have to use Apple Mail... however they really must work on making it useful in gmail and outlook. It was such a hassle to use this

Works okay but ignore initial instructions.

2023-09-05

When VoltageMail is started, VoltageMail displays three steps to make it work, one of which is pressing and holding your finger on the encrypted file icon. This never worked for me. I finally found out that I could make it work by tapping the file icon and then tapping the share button. The share icons then include a Copy to Voltage Mail icon, and tapping that works.

Needs better integration

2023-10-07

When receiving secure emails, you need to jump through hoops to open them in VoltageMail. I wish I could just tap on the attachment and have it automatically open in VoltageMail . Instead you have to press on hold, find VoltageMail , and then tap on it. It works but it’s awkward. Better instructions in the emails I receive would help but that may not be an issue with this system.

It’s not the most intuitive but it does work

2023-11-07

VoltageMail does work even though a lot of people seem to have trouble using VoltageMail . First install VoltageMail , then go back to the email and tap on the attachment. In the next screen, tap the Share button and choose voltage. From there it opens VoltageMail and you can enter your password and read the secure email.

Works perfectly

2023-12-09

I have a secure message account set up with Wells Fargo already and needed to read a secure email on my phone. Downloaded VoltageMail , followed the instructions to press and hold the attachment and then chose “open in Voltage Mail”. I typed in my existing password, the message opened right up, and I read it and responded. I also had the option to print. No problem whatsoever.

Had to set password with bank first

2024-01-09

Initially, I couldn’t sign into this secure mail, so I thought VoltageMail was broken. However, I learned that I needed to authenticate my email address and set up a password with my bank before I could use the Voltage mail. I had unsuccessfully tried using the password for my regular banking account before realizing I had to set up the new password for the secure mail system. The communication laps is my bank’s fault, not Voltage’s.

VoltageMail works fine now, so I changed my 1-start review to 5 stars. 👍🏾

Liked it more when it worked

2024-12-18

VoltageMail used to work great. I’d receive an email from my company, long tap the attachment, select Voltage to open it, and get right to the email. Now, I do all those same things and it gives me the mobile app download instructions. Desktop version works but I am on my phone 95% of the time. I literally have to break out my laptop to get into my email to do what I should be able to do from my phone.

Doesn’t work as stated.

2024-12-18

The instructions as listed only work in the default iPhone mail app. To make it work in other apps you must go through a bunch of extra steps. Even then sometimes I only get the blank page others have mentioned.

It literally takes less time to boot up a computer and view the message on a non-mobile device, making VoltageMail worthless.
