App Updated and Deleted All Accounts - Then Fixed, But No Explanation

Came home today and went to check my mail. Got the new user screen asking me to add an account. They pushed out an update that completely reset BlueMail . Would be annoying for one account but I have multiple accounts so I won't be doing this again. I can accept flaws but an update that nukes everything is not one of them. Goodbye, this app.

Update:
While in the process of finding a new mail app, an update was quietly pushed out that reversed the issue. All missing accounts reappeared so I didn't have to set them all up again. It would have been nice to at least have the devs acknowledge there was a problem and a fix was in work. Instead, there was nothing for three days to let users know what was happening. I'm not expecting the devs to fall on their swords but at least a token post that an unexpected issue had occurred and would be resolved shortly would have saved me (and others) some time and effort. So I'm using BlueMail again but also have a backup in the wings just in case. I hope things work out, though, because this is one of the better mail apps.

Not what it used to be

I used to LOVE this app. About three weeks ago it started acting strange. Then it wouldn’t sync up and fetch email from Gmail. I sent the this app team my issue and NO response. Then, after about a week it started to sync and fetch PERIODICALLY, but at the SAME time it quit sending push notifications when emails came in. I sent the this app team ANOTHER message and still no reply. A couple of days later, I got a handful of push notifications over the course of an hour or so and then it quit. This time I went to their website an sent a THIRD message to their support team letting them know what my issues were and that I had deleted and re-downloaded the most recent version a couple of times and none of my issues were fixed. It has been days and days and days of BlueMail not working and NO ONE giving a CUSS about it, so I’ve deleted it and moved on to an app
named after the inventor of the incandescence light bulb and couldn’t be happier! Move on, nothing to see here. You’ll be glad you did.

After update syncing takes forever if it even ever syncs

After the most recent update the other day, syncing my accounts takes forever. And, unfortunately, many times it does not even sync. It just keeps reading as ‘syncing...’ This is consistent over various areas using network connectivity, or various wi-fi connections. This is not related to connectivity, as I had no issue prior to update.

I love BlueMail but there seem to be a lot of bugs. I’ve had to delete and reinstall quite a few times over the past year or so, because it would not update notifications after I deleted or read mail. And I’m going to try again to see if that fixes my syncing woes. I love BlueMail - the layout is great and when it’s working it’s wonderful. Just some bugs to still be worked out.

I want to love it but no

This mail client is awesome, it’s organized, easy to use and to top it all off, it has an awesome dark them for when I need to check something late at night. But good lord, it barely works! I have to open BlueMail several times just so it can load everything, sometimes it gets stuck loading messages and again, I have to quit and restart it, sometimes mail doesn’t go through on some days and then decides to do that to other accounts and mix and match. Where did my trash go? Where is the inbox and that message I was just looking at? Why are deleted messages reappearing in my inbox? I’m disappointed and sad that I have to use a different client and more so because this is the only free one with a dark theme.

Mostly very good

I've tried several apps, paid and unpaid, that aggregate multiple accounts and this one is the best in its class in terms of offering a suite of effective services. Still several gaps/quirks. Most annoying ones that come to mind deal with copying or modifying text in an existing message. Sometimes you can't copy an email address embedded in a message, or modify a message before forwarding. But in comparison to the other apps, these are the least annoying limitations. Better calendar support would be nice but I'm leery of asking for too much!

Sync is unreasonably long

The Aug 27th guy is 100% on target regarding sync. In all fairness, I receive a large number of emails (100 or more daily) but the other apps I use (and compare to this one) are much faster.

I started my most recent sync 42 minutes ago. this app is STILL syncing. (My inspiration to write this review.) In contrast, Airmail does three times as many accounts (and volume) in under a minute. The other two mail readers I use also perform the sync at that rate.

Given that the competitors can get the job done, BlueMail has a problem that needs to be resolved. If that were improved, it would rate at least four stars, and maybe five.

I love it

I'm always looking for the perfect email app that works just the way I prefer. Somehow I find it hard to find one. Believe me I tried them all. I paid for apps that are not even close to this one. And Blue Mail is free. So far it is the best app I found hands down. Lots of features makes BlueMail very useful. If you want the best you need to get BlueMail.
Update: Unfortunately I just tried to send a video and had to realize that only pictures can be attached but not a video. Serious problem, I hope it will be fixed

Meh

Update: Sadly my initial reaction was too hasty. BlueMail has several blatant shortcomings. It doesn’t load the message if you swipe a notification, it just sits there saying loading until you go back out and into the email. It also randomly refuses to show images. It also takes 2-3x as long to load the messages themselves or the messages list compared to other clients.

Original reaction:
I have been looking for a mail client that is simply “good enough” for literally YEARS!!!!

And when I finally find it, not only is it good enough, it’s &$@!ing PHENOMENAL ... AND FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolute insanity! Why doesn’t this come up when you search mail, why isn’t this at the absolute top of BlueMail store?!

Highly configurable. Works as expected. Not buggy. Sadly that is more than can be said for any other email app I’ve tried (at least 20). It is really a dream.

Only thing I will say to add is support for opening links in Firefox.

I would also love a dark icon for dark mode but that’s a total nitpick.

Another app destroyed by “update”

As already mentioned by others, the portrait mode on my iPad is unavailable despite bragging about it on BlueMail Store description. I run everything in portrait, so making me rotate the tablet for this one app is annoying and stupid.

Has anyone also noticed that you can no longer print an email message on this latest version? I’ve searched every menu and can’t find it. That pretty much makes it useless even ignoring its other faults.

A week ago, four, maybe five, stars. Now, I wish I could give it zero. I give this developer the same advice as all the others: if it works, don’t break it and fire all the programmers before they ruin your product.

SNOOZE emails during notification AND dark background option!!!

I love this app! I've tried them all and I always go back to this app because I can snooze my emails if I don't want to forget them but don't have the time to read it right away! Also, when you open an email you have the option to view all emails from that sender so it is super easy to bulk edit. Also very important to me is this: I LOVE HAVING THE CHOICE OF A BLACK BACKGROUND WITH WHITE LETTERS!!! If Spark mail had these options, I would use those, but they don't so...

Totally useless now

Update 8/26: after almost deleting BlueMail , I thought I'd delete and re-add my email accounts. Everything is working now. If an updates comes, I am not going to load it.

8/08: Blue mail has totally stopped on my iPad. No longer synching any accounts other than Google. I get no new emails, emails, spam, trash that won't delete! Please roll back 3 updates when the app worked perfectly.

Great App--Mail Disappears

Without having outlook on my phone, this app has greatly improved how I read and write mail. The quickness with which it fetches or pushes is also way better than apple Mail, something important to my in business.

The biggest fault and reason why I will only give two stars is because 7/10 times, new mail arrives and then disappears. There is no telling when it will reappear. This frustration has made me, even after removing my biz email from Apple Mail, reinstall the profile so that I never miss a mail.

Once this issue is fixed, I will gladly rewrite my review to be 5-stars!

The app no longer functions properly

Unread mail no longer shows up correctly. Email fonts are completely messed up, which in turn messes with email formatting. It was fine before they messed with it about a week ago.
Edit: The problem with unread mail was technically my fault. That functionality was moved into a tiny unmarked button on the left side of the screen. The rest of the problems remain. I deleted this and started using the apple email app, just like I used to many years ago. So far, I have no regrets.

Has Potential

I really like BlueMail, however there are a couple of quirks that keep it from getting a five star rating. 1) Background App refresh does not work, BlueMail does not update on its own. If I read emails on another device or my computer, this app does not update unread count on a different device. In fact, I have to manually force App to update. 2) Some emails do not show any body and it can be difficult to get BlueMail to show the email properly. This is an occasional problem for me but a common occurrence for my wife.

No problems, Beautiful Interface

My go to email app now . Have tried so many that I didn't expect much from this app. Wrong. The program is great and has a nice intuitive, slick interface. Have been using for about a month with NO issues to date. Certainly hasn't been slow for me at all. The layout is magic! Stupid easy, working between and with other accounts. I have nine accounts and it spins like a top.

What Happened?

While I appreciate, and even like, the new look and feel - what the update intended to delete all mail accounts on my device? That might have been a useful note to include in the generic description than what I saw posted. I auto update (bad on me, I suppose) but did not see a warning that I was going to need to recreate my eight accounts.
Otherwise, nice looking, lovely interface. I look forward to exploring more of the features and options.

I like it but still learning to navigate

I generally like it but figuring out all the features is not entirely intuitive, though adding email accounts is super easy. Slowly but surely I’m getting all the pieces figured out (I think) but some simple instructions would be helpful. If they were there it would be a definite 5 stars.

Can’t complain too much since it’s free. I REALLY like that it’s cross platform. And it’s still free.

The mail app to get and keep.

Dear Devs. ,

In the last several years, several email apps have closed their doors. I’m assuming it’s because they’re not making any money. One of my email apps chose to charge a whopping 50$/year to avoid closing. You and your families deserve to live well - not just get buy. Just let us know a little before you raise the numbers.
It seems it’s alway the ones that close down.

Update ruined it

For a few years, this was my go-to app for emails. It did everything I wanted in an easy, quick, intuitive manner and I especially liked their color coding each email to indicate what address it came from.

A moderately recent update ruined the entire app (and last weeks update was of no help). I gave BlueMail a month or more hoping they’d either correct the main errors they introduced or, at a minimum, revert to the last decent version.

They have done neither, so with much regret I have downloaded a different email app and I’m about to delete this app.

Crashing

As of last week I’ve had to upload and delete BlueMail several times. It seems that each time I turn my phone off BlueMail crashes. I still receive notifications that I have an email, but I cannot open the actual app to read it. I tried Apples native email and it fails to compare to this app. I actually would really like for BlueMail to be fixed. Also, I would recommend more features on the Apple watch. For instance, the option to delete a message from the watch. I will change my rating once the email crashing problem is resolved. Thank you in advance 😊

Freeze Frame

I have loved this app, but for whatever reason it freezes on me and I have to uninstall BlueMail , reinstall, input all my server information, and start over. I tap BlueMail icon, BlueMail tried to open but then goes back to BlueMail icon.
Can you please help me figure out why this has happened two different times now?

Have been having ongoing issues with Bluemail not opening on my Samsung s21 Ultra. A white screen appears with the Bml logo, which then auto-closes after about 5 seconds. Have cleared the cache multiple times, turned the phone on and off, and uninstalled and reinstalled. At best, got it working for about 3 days total. Issues started about 2 - 3 months ago.

BlueMail was fine until a couple of weerks ago, now it has developed some odd bahviour and most annoying I cannot forward mail. Has a recent upgrade done this ? I have restored my computer to an earlier date before the problems appeared but this has not done any good, the problems are still there.

Does email not allow cut and paste or link insert. Sort of useless to me if not.
