MAPS.ME Status

Map.me spins continuously when navigation. I use an Apple iPhone 8. Any suggestions? Thanks

One day everything was fine, all bookmarks were in place. The next one - basically everything's gone, only 3 folders remain and their names have a bunch of "111111" in the end. For instance, "Belgium111111111". WHAT HAPPENED? No updates happened, my phone is with a lock screen, so it could have not been "pocket's job". Worst thing is that I think those bookmarks of the last year and a few months have not been saved as any file on my phone. Wonder if you could help me out with this?

I can't plot a route as I usually do and then put in a stop to change the route a little. Also the app is working really slowly- there are several seconds delay, so I think it hasn't worked and I click again.

Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G phone. The map keeps jumping around. I reinstall it same thing. I have another phone and it works great. Do you know what the issue is? How do I fix this

Hi, i am trying to download new maps to my phone, but it just shows loading error. Never had this problem before. Using fast internet and have a lot of space on my phone. Thanks

I am having the following message when trying to download new maps ‘loading error’. This has been my go to for years. I have good wifi and have tried on 4G There are no updates. I have reset the app and the iPhone. Some maps crash the app. I have over 100 Gig of spare space. I also get the map scroll automatically to France unless I close and open it again.

This used to be my favorite app. Now it is not that useful. My old phone with android 8 can't even download maps any more and a bunch of bookmarks just disappeared. I used to be able to share bookmarks between devices but no longer can. Why update and make things unworkable?

App refuses to load after I load about 8GB of offline maps. ios ipad 15.7.2

Started downloading maps for Sri Lanka yesterday. Has now been stuck on "1 map. Downloading: 3.42 GB of 110.35 MB" So the error does not even make sense. I have fast Internet connection.

I am using Maps.Me for years... From August 2022 (Android) I see a problem sometimes: It doesn't show location properly, it jumps between 2 locations with a frequency 1 per second like it is confused about where I am. One of these locations is some fixed location in the past and the other is my real location. You can not drive with that. And that strange behavior lasts for hours. On another Android phone, the same application Maps.Me behaves well and works fine showing real location correctly. GPS test app shows FIX is OK.

The app just keeps rolling and always takes me to France when I am looking up a place in London

On ipad air with latest IOS, Maps.me crashes when trying to export a file of bookmarks. This bug has not been fixed over multiple updates over the past few months. This is a significant problem for me because I have created a lot of bookmarks for an upcoming trip on my ipad, but now cannot export them to my phone. Absolutely no response from the developer when feedback submitted or reviews put on app store.

Once I’m connected to wifi/data and try to open the app it crashes, however, if I open it while offline the app works perfectly, this sucks

Search engine only shows dumb dog, no results. Planning a route and adding extra points in between does no longer work easy. Stupid stuff like wallets are added, but this app is (or should be) about simple routing, hiking, biking, adding poi's and NO MORE.

This used to work great, I have used all over the world on my Samsung phone and my ipad and my iphone , now it crashes, goes back to the Home Screen. I cannot log in like I used to and see all the places I have flagged in so many colours… what happened? It was so easy to used… now its useless

The app works great if I am on WiFi, but when I’m in airplane mode it crashes and won’t even open. It didn’t do this a few months ago, not sure what happened

I forgot to mention the screen doesn’t rotate. It used to rotate in any direction which is important for plugging in the phone to charge while driving because it consumes tremendous amounts of battery. Also since Maps.me has decided to fill the screen with information and icons there isn’t much room to see the map. Nor does it automatically zoom in like it used. It is now too small to use for driving. Trying to constantly manually zoom while driving is too dangerous. Yet more changes that make this app worthless.

Vincent and Franz describe some of the problems with the new version very well. In addition, today I tried using the app but it refused to connect without Cell Data turned on. I turned on Cell Data and checked the setting in the app which was correctly set Off-line. I turned off Cell Data and the app crashed. Now the app is worthless. Much of the time I use it in places where I don’t have access to Cell Data. I have emailed Maps.Me contacts 3 times asking for assistance but I haven’t received a single response. I agree with others it is time to dump this app. I used it around the world for the last 6 years and it was good. Please go back to the older version.

GPS won't work in flight mode. And agree with other comments re latest version being a lot less user friendly. I have used the app for years hiking around the world and it was so convenient, now i might have to get something else as it is no longer fit for purpose. Such a shame!

In latest update: kml paths do not appear as separate path entries in a bookmark list. In the previous version you could see the kml path listed along with its length. Description is also limited to 120 characters. This was not the case in the previous version. Being able to add links to in the decription would also be a good feature.

Since update the app is not working properly on my Samsung A90 phone. On opening I keep getting a message about allowing storage on the device, but I can’t find a way to do this. App also has problems finding my location. It is a pity…a really good app destroyed by people who can’t leave anything alone!

Map.me no longer useful after the update. It does not move while on trip. Going to uninstall it for good

The last version looks very different and works WAY too slow when using the searchbar or calculating a route. The previous version worked perfectly fine. Anything I can do about this?

I have the rare "Samsung Xcover Pro" and it has just updated to Android 12. MAPS.ME is now misbehaving - most of the time it works as it should after having shown the warning message: "For correct processing of links it is necessary to associate them with the application, Go to link settings?", the options are Cancel and Settings. - Selecting Cancel means it starts that once but subsequent starts result in a white screen, restarting the device reverts to the previous behaviour. - Selecting "Settings" does not show me any setting which I can see as being useful. I have just moved the App's data to the SD-Card (I had thought it was there already) but the warning message still appears. Apparently I have 339 MB of Map Data but that is a total lie - I have gigabytes for several countries and that data is definitely accessible in the app.

The new update from June 30 makes the app crash when I select one of my favourites. It completely exits back to the home screen. It does not matter which favourite it is. I have a oppo a9 2020 android version 11 and coloros v11.1 Works for me on a motorola and my iphone7 with the very latest update. Cheers Fernando

I've been using the app worldwide for years and it's been great. After the update it just got more complicated. Tapping 2 points and simple route guidance no longer works. The map display has become unnecessarily small because of the large icons. Kml files are no longer imported. A connection with the Park4Night app no ​​longer works. The sign-in does not work, the code is not sent. I want the old version back!!!!! So the app is no longer usable!!!

Maps.me has updated its self to a new version and now it will not open KML files that worked on the previous version of Maps.me. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Maps.me but this did not make any difference. Cheers, Ryan

I go into Maps.Me on Wifi or Data. I have selected Location: “While Using” However, it acts like location is ‘Always’, the blue location marker stays permanently in view until I select Location: Never. This is all since updating maps.me last week. It is draining my battery. It even stays on when I switch to Airplane mode. And all the time I’m not using the app. I’ve used the app since around 2014 and never had an issue - it’s my number one go-to when travelling, but now… Added to this, it no longer remembers my last search for place, if I look for a local street. If a payment is requested to have a functioning app, you’ve lost my trust.

Maps.me does not stay on the screen when navigating. 2 new apps have showed up in upper right corner.

Tried to install on my phone, but when I try to open the app, it just comes back to the same screen. I still have it on my tablet which works, but I really, really want it on my phone

I have the app installed on both iPhone 12 and iPad Pro (15.3.1) and it runs great on the phone but not on ipad. It will open, i have managed to install the local map (happens automatically). It seems to work on the ‘home’ map, as i can search for gas stations etc, but will only open the page to download other maps, then freezes and i have to reload the app. I have deleted and reinstalled to no avail. Settings are same as on my iPhone which works. Im planning a long trip abroad and would like to work on both devices.

I am trying to install app from Play Store. When I hit install it just spins on the clock endlessly?

Hello Maps.me Team, Could you please check the maps around the states of KSA, kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Vae, Katar and Yemen please. Somehow, if you zoom in, the map is kind of breaking down, if you zoom out again, it hangs and crashes and furthermore, you are not able to make a search for anything in this area. I have deleted and reinstalled the maps and the app on this phone as well as on another phone, but none of it has lead to any solution. Maybe you can help. Best Regards
