Simple & effective note & list app.

I use this app several times a day. Gift lists, shopping lists for various stores, a list of my fav films, etc.
I probably have a hundred lists…all ready for instant use with a click. Invaluable.

Good - its best with the desktop version > update

It is a nice application. For a buck or so, its a keeper. I’ve had it for years now on the desktop where its really very nice & I use it sporadically among the many similar apps I own as an organizational tool junkie.

this app is not as useful on a phone-sized device as on a desktop, and arguably you could use Reminders & Apple Notes to make do instead, though I cannot warm to Apple Notes since they added drawing functions.

this app (Notes Tab Pro is an old name?) is very clean & straightfoward. There are other note apps that are as useful, some more useful to me, although they cost more as well.

Caveat: Its fine for plaintext.

Copy & paste into this app from the web requires housecleaning because it apparently does not believe in the existence of Apostrophes.

(Gives you a bunch of characters in place of punctuation).

This is worth a try for a buck. Which is more than anyone paid for my opinion!

Needs folders

Love MiniNote. It’s stable, user friendly, syncs fast on all my devices. One minor suggestion add folders. It would be nice to have a way to sort thru the notes.

Love it.

Best note taking app hands down. I use this every day.

Beware - no support contact in case troubles

Suddenly I was logged out of the synching option and could not logged back in. Resetting password didn’t work because I didn’t receive any email from app support.
I wrote to the support twice on their site. Not response at all. I have to find an app that is not abondonned by the developer...

Please Dark Mode!

Please allow Dark mode through the whole app, this is a great app it syncs with all my devices!
Great for quick Notes for future reference

Great app for insecure notes.

That feature would seal the case. But it syncs across Macs and mobile devices and is great for ideas, and casual notes.

great app

easy to take notes on my laptop as it lives on my menu bar and then to reference them on my phone.

One of my most important apps

I used Notestab on my iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad, iPad mini, and iPhone 5s (yup, I'm a MacManiac), and it allows me to keep important information (both long-term and short-term important) in a form that is easily accessible on any of my devices. It is one of those essential apps for me -- like Day One or 1Password. In an app of this kind, the most crucial features are that it syncs quickly and well and that information doesn't get lost or eaten -- this handles both of the requirements.

I just wish there were a way to type in a phone number without having MiniNote start to underline the number and everything that follows it. I don't get the point of that. I'm probably missing something there.

Keyboard disappears

Why does the keyboard disappear AND NEVER COME BACK?

Truly Average, Format Control Issues

Needs much better "Link Control" Why does MiniNote think every set of 7 or more consecutive numerical values is a phone number, always making them a hot link to "Dial"? Also, when pasting text into a note from multiple sources (i.e. Webpage, Document) there's NO consistency as to which format will override the other, and you can NOT set a default like "use only plain text." I paid for the desktop upgrade to be able to sync between it and this iOS version. Decent app as well, BUT the only advantage I have seen is that the Desktop version of Notes Tab Plus can reside in the menu bar up top for quick access. Oh yeah you can sort by number of stars, but that's about it.

If and when Apple adds the option to access desktop Notes App from menu bar I will return to the default iOS Notes app because it has better link control built in. Recognizes phone numbers as phone numbers and dials. Recognizes postal tracking numbers as postal tracking numbers and opens browser to track package, etc.

Better than notepad

I have this on my iPad & iPhone. It's great. True it looks like Apple's Notepad. However NotesTab looks better. I like being able to star notes so they stay on top. You can change part of a word instead of having to delete the entire word just because you typed in the 1st letter wrong. Eventually I will upgrade my Mac to Mountain Lion so I'll be able to sync with my Mac as well. Now that's something that you really can't do with Notepad. Another thing, the notes won't "disappear" when you connect your device to your computer, like they do with Notepad.

Fiplab's unresponsiveness.

This is an amended review. I still haven't heard from FipLab but discovered on my own that NotesTab is accessible via Launch Center Pro, but it doesn't show up in the LCP action composer. Manually enter "notestab:" and it will open NotesTab.

I'll give it 3 stars. It loses 2 stars because of FipLab's continued unresponsiveness.
……………

NotesTab could easily be a 5-star app if Fiplab added a couple of things.

1. Add URL schemes so it could be easily accessed via the iOS app Launch Center Pro, which exponentially speeds up the utility of all iOS apps for which there are URL schemes.

I almost bought NoteFile instead of NotesTab because NoteFile did have this greater utility. I wish I had.

I've repeatedly asked Fiplab to add URL schemes but have just been ignored.

2. Way down on the list of wants: it would be nice if notes could be kept in some sort of folder-like archiving system.

I've contacted Fiplab about these issues 4 or 5 times, but they don't have the decency to even reply back.

Therefore, NotesTab is a 2-star app.

Disclaimer: I have no financial interest in Launch Center Pro. I am just a LCP user, and it allows me and millions of others to use url-schemed apps more than other apps, and I would like to put NotesTab in that select list.

Great notes app that sync's

This notes app is as good or better than the one that comes with iPad. I purchased the "Notes Tab Pro" version to sync between devices. For a long time, I had to log out and then log back in to get the sync to work between the Apple devices (iPad, iPhone & MacBook). Lately it has been sync'ing immediately. As long as it does that, I love MiniNote. My wife takes a note on her iPad in Notes Tab on a topic we're both working on and I see her update appear in my notes. That's exactly what we need. Great for collaboration; great for productivity (shared knowledge, shared updates). If the sync continues to work this well, I'll upgrade my rating to 5 stars.

frustrated

I have use this program to take notes for at least a year and it crashed a few times. Perhaps after updating my OS, MiniNote keeps crashing more now than it ever had in the past. I have to start over and over again and sometimes it is several paragraphs when it decides to crash, then I have to try recreate my thoughts or my notes. This is not a product I would recommend and unfortunately, I have a years worth of my notes on MiniNote; so it is difficult to switch to another app.

It seems to crash more often now than it had in the past - I was just writing a small passage for an advertisement and it crashed at least 10x where I had to write the same words over and over again. Thus my impetus to write this review. I hope you create a patch soon for this.

thanks!!!

Great app

MiniNote has by far exceeded my expectations! Great for taking notes, in my case it was a great way for me to take notes in college. It's well organized and i love how you can easily send your notes via email. MiniNote has never crashed on me nor have i had any issues with it. MiniNote doesnt have too many options nor settings, but if you're looking for something simple, quick, and easy yet highly productive... This is definitely a great app to go for. I definitely recommend it.

A very good editor, easy to use

MiniNote has a very intuitive interface and is quite easy to use. It is a text editor, not a word processor, so it uses fixed size fonts. The fonts are available as small, medium and large. I would give it 5 stars if it operated in a rotated position. As it currently exists, the iPod/iPad must be held vertically, which requires that the small font be used in order to be able to write lines of a reasonable length. With the medium or large fonts, I found every sentence wrapped to the point that it was very difficult to read. However, with the small font everything looks fine.

One irritating problem

NotesTab is a really good app, especially combined with the Mac version. I did, however, discover one problem that cost me some important data. There is no way to undo anything. The fact that there is no undo button in the UI is not such a big deal, but the undo key in the iOS keyboard doesn't work either. So if you select a block of text that you wish to bold, then aim a little low the B and hit the letter y instead (not unusual on an iPad), your block of text is replaced by a y. Forever.

I hope they fix this soon. In the meantime, be careful.
