    Great but a little glitchy

    This app is pretty straight forward and easy to use. However, I have a bit of trouble turning the camera up and down through the app. Left and right works fine. The notifications & history also stopped updating at night...not sure it's because it's having difficulty detecting motion with its night vision or if they programmed it to not bother you past a certain time. Overall, a pretty good app, they just need to fix these small issues and maybe include some FAQs/troubleshooting on their instructions manual.

    App does whatever it wants.

    The hardware works fine. The trouble comes from the app. If I open the camera for a live view of the room, the app ignores my mute switch, ignores the volume all the way down and starts blaring the room sound at a ridiculously loud volume. Need to turn it down? Too bad! It ignores all volume controls on the phone. I have to close the app to make it stop. Today, the app started broadcasting loud sound without the app even open. Thanks.... my coworkers got a kick out of listening to my kid singing JINGLE BELLS JINGLE BELLS at a bazillion decibels. I have a fast connection and a top of the line WiFi router. Talking through the app doesn’t work at all. People in the room hear garbled sound if anything. You think the basic features would at least work a little. They need to fire the people who made this garbage app and start over because it’s only slightly better than worthless.

    Really bad app

    I bought a Netvue camera to use as a baby monitor. I have a lot of problems with it. First, the video gets super delayed. Sometimes by a minute or two. So I’ll be looking at my baby on the monitor sleeping soundly but in reality he’s crying in his crib and I won’t realize it for quite a while. Second, the app doesn’t use two factor authentication so literally any hacker who guesses my password could spy in on my baby, my wife nursing, or anything else going on in that room. I have a pretty complex password, so it’s not a huge deal, but it’s still a risk. Third, the app doesn’t support background video, so I have to keep it full screen in order to monitor my baby. So I can’t use my iPad for anything else while my baby is napping. Fourth, it has a really annoying bug with screen rotation. Whenever you first open the video feed, it launches in portrait orientation regardless of the orientation of your device. If you want to get it to switch to landscape, which is obviously the preferable orientation since it gives you a full view of the camera, you have to turn your device into portrait orientation, and then BACK to landscape orientation, to get it to display and landscape orientation.

    Fix the app

    I have been using Netvue for the past 4 months and it has pretty good features but if you are going to UPDATE make sure it’s an UPGRADE. First The app logs me out from time to time. So I have to LOGIN TWICE in order to access my cameras. Now the GENERAL button on settings shows DATA LOADING FAILEd TRY AGAIN so i tap refresh arrows and nothing happens. It would also be nice to have DARK MODE botton since its white. I really like what you guys are doing for the safety of the people. On the positive note the HD looks good and the recording microphone reception has good clarity on recording to hear whats going on around the area. Thanks for your services!

    4.3.2 release

    After upgrade to v432 this morning, had hard time to connect from iPhone and the device will send out notification for no reason. Wish I could stay on 4.3.1... In general, it works to my expectation till this morning. I’d like to see a “disclaimer” that indicates none of my home video is captured by the company for privacy reason. We connect to the device via their website, how can we be sure the company did not record any of my house info..

    Netvue Home Cam

    Superior product with great HD quality and very simple setup. We use as our day-to-day baby monitor. Features app accessibility from phone no matter where you are. Great for monitoring baby when away on a date night and a babysitter is at home. Also great to monitor dogs when at work or away. 24/7 recording also is a great feature if you utilize for home security. Highly recommended.

    I have had these cameras for about a year now. They work relatively ok. Problem is they pick up bugs every 5 seconds, They rarely pick up people even when you are standing right in front of them. Also getting playback from them is a pain. They are supposed to be adaptive, but I have seen no learning from them at all. Even when you set the motion area for them they still pick up bogus movements. I have 5 of these cameras and none of them are capable of running on more than a 32 gig card with out having to be formatted all the time or constantly rebooted.

    So my Netvue is set to record motion from midnight to 4AM. We’ve had it for a year and have never had any problems. Tonight at 8:56PM it recorded two pictures of my wife walking naked. When I clicked into the app it said my Netvue was disconnected but I was able to see the motion event. A few minutes later my Netvue connected again and is working fine. I confirmed my settings for motion recording to be from midnight to 4AM As they always have been. Seems really weird to me that it took pictures of her walking naked when she’d been home all day and didn’t get any of her waking around. Any explanation for this??

    Excellent app

    NetVue stores your security profile settings on their server which I prefer. After losing all my IPhone apps and after reinstalling NetVue, the camera profiles were there satisfactorily. It also doesn’t lose connectivity with my cameras which is another plus. Also I can playback video using the app. It’s a solid home security app to manage security devices.

    What support?

    I paid for a subscription on one camera. My SD card reader on the camera doesn’t work. Every time I try to close the door with an SD card in it, the camera just pushes the SD card in enough to make it want to eject. So I switched to cloud service. I PAID for it, and NOTHING. I’ve contacted support no less than 5 times and they haven’t helped at all. One person said I didn’t have a subscription linked to my camera? Then what is it linked to? What did I pay for? I check my subscriptions and it said I paid. I’m at the point where I’m going to stop using this app and this camera and go back to Arlo or Wyze.

    Good cameras poor app

    I’ve been in contact with Netvue multiple times over camera technical issues. These cameras are good at the price point, the app and support is poor at best. App does not provide a macro view of camera feeds, independent camera feeds load slowly. SD cards are in need of constant reformatting and mounting. Audio is choppy and transmits via the device speaker poorly (clarity not level). I would recommend these cameras if netvue was to invest in an app that was anything more than a simple, poorly designed web page refresh. Other than the app, which is the most important element since these cameras will not work with any third party dev, these cameras are functional. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PAYING FOR THE CLOUD SERVICE. It is as slow and functions via the engineering of the app which equates to a bag of garbage from my kitchen: Doesn’t always stink but is still garbage all the same.

    Used to be good.

    Used to work well. Now the website UI is completely unusable and confusing. Took me forever to get my service upgraded, and now it’s not even working or recording the device I paid for. Also, why in the world is there #caughtonnetvue as a permanent fixture on the app menu? No one will use that feature enough to justify that. People using this app are in a task positive mindset, we aren’t opening it to browse cat videos. Cameras work well. App is okay but really poorly planned. Website and upgrade services are garbage.

    Good camera, Bad SD function.

    Camera works well, picture is nice and clear and the price is right. I just bought a second camera for the house. Works with Alexa and my fire stick to show on tv. Main issues is SD only works for a short time and sometimes reformatting doesn’t work. I’ve tried 32, 64 and 128 gb. Now to try different types since they’ve all been U1. Maybe they don’t care because they want you to sign up for cloud service.

    Good and bad...

    The cameras are awesome, very clear and excellent range. The app however can use some help. My suggestions: 1. A home screen that allows you to see all cameras live in micro view. 2. The ability to create camera groups to see all in micro view, example, all indoor cams in one group, outdoor in another, etc.. 3. The ability to disable motion detection or activate sleep mode on all cameras in a group with one toggle switch. I have many Netvue cams now and if I want to turn off motion detection, I have to go to the settings of each camera individually, this is very time consuming. If you make these changes, your app will be nearly perfect. I’ll add to these suggestions over time. Thanks and keep up the good work. Michael

    Great Cameras but Software Improvements Needed

    The cameras themselves are great and show up really clear. It has a good built-in microphone and decent talkback speaker. My only issue is with the app itself. The one annoyance I have is that I am not able to watch multiple cameras live simultaneously. I have to click on each one individually to play back or view life footage. It would be nice if you could see live footage on multiple cameras like nest can do on the iPad.
