I wish that I could rate myBeerNation zero stars! It is now 2025 and syncing has been disabled for over a year now due to “server maintenance.” This was supposed to have been completed in “Spring 2024” according to my inoperative sign in page and still absolutely nothing has been done. Now I can neither access my synced data nor download my data file for use elsewhere. As a result, I have over 500 journal entries that are utterly inaccessible! The developer’s tech support is entirely unresponsive as well. NEVER, EVER USE THIS SOFTWARE OR YOUR PAINSTAKING WORK WILL BE LOST FOREVER!

I like that myBeerNation has breweries and beers from all over the world and not just the United States. However, when I go to use the google search feature to add one not listed it crashes every time! I wouldn’t have paid $4.99 for myBeerNation if I knew it was going to be such a pain to use.

The interface is very clean and intuitive. Great map feature for locating breweries. Of you want a beer journal, however, you should look elsewhere. Although myBeerNation carries the basic data for breweries, you'll find that it lacks beer offerings for many of the lesser-known breweries. You can take the time to do it yourself, but I don't want to have to do that, especially because I have a hard time remembering the names of some beers. If you want a more comprehensive database of beer, go to BeerVault. If you want a user-friendly brewery locator, try this one.

Solid app

I’ve been using myBeerNation for about two years, and it has been ideal for me. Able to add beers and breweries simply, easy to put in the information, and able to customize what you want to put in (I.e. if you taste kumquat, just hit “add custom” in the taste part of the log and you can add kumquat.). I did have an issue with crashing for a bit - contacted the designers, and Alex from Looking West worked until he found the issue. Much appreciated! Highly recommended.

I've been using for about a year now and have almost 300 beer entries. It has been extremely helpful to keep track of beers I have tried (particularly since I have a poor memory). They recently made some enhancements that improves the overall functionality.

Fun and easy to use. I have over 200 beers journaled and it's become my go to beer app. Their tech support is second to none. Looking forward to seeing them expand and improve over time!

The journal is really nice and I like the way it is laid out. They have gotten much better at adding breweries outside of the us. Since i travel for work I like the links for local breweries, I just wish they had +/- ratings and they could update the new beers sooner.

myBeerNation started off strong. I like the usability and it was updated to make it easier and provide more tasting notes. It does not have every brewery list that has opened in the last 6 months but they have added an option to"add a new brewery" now. Great Journal.

This is a must have app for all beer enthusiasts! myBeerNation has a huge database which is constantly being updated. I've recommended myBeerNation to several of my friends and they all love it. I would prefer if they added plus, minus ratings for each letter grade, and that is my only recommendation.

I found myBeerNation a while back for the iPhone and it has just been updated for the iPad. It's really good, complete, and easy to use. My wife and I wrote a book on the brewpubs of Colorado a couple of years ago. It sold out and we decided that books aren't the way to go. So we thought about an app, but didn't get around to it. This is close to myBeerNation we would have written. Since we're retired, I now know that I can find good craft beer where ever our travels take us! Thanks guys!

From all the other apps I've tried many this is by far the best! I love keeping track of the different breweries I go to and beers I drink. I think this is well put together. I recommend it! One thing I hope is changed is that the already added beers in the library that I add to my journal pass the info like % alcohol, IBU, etc.

I just love myBeerNation. I love craft beer and myBeerNation helps me keep track of all the new beer I try. It's great when I look up a beer that's available on tap and I find i had it before and rated it high. And the couple of times I came across a beer not listed in myBeerNation , I just used myBeerNation to let the administrator know about the new beer or brewery and it was added within a day or two. Yep this is an app I use every week.

This has to be hands down the best beer app ever. The features like the map to locate the nearest brewery makes for a blast when you travel.
However, the neatest thing has to be how it makes you break down and really malt e the beer you are having, smell, taste, color, mouthfeel, total before and after for people alejo are really into beer.

If you like craft beer and visiting the breweries., myBeerNation is for you. Even if you only go on one Beercation, myBeerNation will set you in the right direction. I belong to a beer club in San Diego and this is my go to app. Updating the breweries must be a huge undertaking. And for sure some breweries may be missing. But there is a place to request adding breweries. They did for me and within 48 hours it was up. Awesome support

Have I had this beer before or do I just recognize the label from seeing it repeatedly in the store? If I have had it, did I like it, did I love it or did I hate it? Well, let's be honest, I've never met a beer I've hated.

myBeerNation is a lifesaver in the store. Rows and rows of beer from all over the world and absolutely no decision making skills when it comes to such a large life decision as what beer to try next.

All joking aside, myBeerNation is greatly helpful and fun too. Filling out the entries in your own personal beer journal makes you actually stop and think about the beer your drinking instead of swilling it down like a can of Budw....errr......ummmm......water, instead of swilling it down like water.

For all of those who say it's just for American breweries you should take another look. They have listened and added new countries. They are also quick to add new breweries that you report to them through the built in "report a new brewery" button. Easy, simple, quick. You just have to ask!!!!!

Great app! Contains a number of features you just don’t find in other beer journal apps. Especially with the new update. Specifically, it allows you to include custom tasting notes for each beer, as well as easily create custom category responses so there is virtually no limit to your ability to describe and capture your tasting experience. And upon reviewing your journal entries, you can sort by virtually any category.

Another great feature is you can rate in as much or as little detail as you choose. Only the categories you rate or respond are visible in our journal so your journal stays nice and neat, without a bunch of empty space.

Overall GREAT app and after looking through a number of available apps – by far the best one out there!

I love myBeerNation! I have been using my 'notes' in my phone to keep track of the beers I have tried, but it's very lack luster to say the least. I tried a free app, but it did not list the beers the way I like and I want a place for notes if I choose to add any. myBeerNation allows you to sort your list. While my preference is by brewery, you can choose to sort by beer name, date of entry, your ranking, beer style, ABV %, IBU, or price.
When looking at a brewery, it shows you if they have a tasting room, tours, or food. You can mark whether you have visited it, toured it, if it's on your wish list, or if it's your favorite. It usually already has the beers that that brewery makes for you to select from, but you can also add to the list if it is not there. It also has the address, phone number and a link to the brewery's website.
The map feature lets you see where the breweries are and if you marked as visited or toured.
I like the fact that it syncs to all my devices (iPad & iPhone). I'm in the processing of transferring my notes to this.

I have two improvements I recommend:
1. The ability to share your list with others. Maybe it has it, and I just haven't found it yet.
2. Since it lists the beers already for most of the breweries, why can't it already have the style, ABV, & IBU?

This is a really great app! If you love beer and love touring breweries, this is a must have app. If you enjoy different crafted beers, this is your app. It's really great.
