The RTI stopped working on our iPhones 3 days ago, magically started working again today. We have no idea why. So frustrating.

iPhone version does not recognize system after most recent update. Leave the network and come back and RTiPanel does not work.

I was talked into "upgrading" to the RTI system and app when my under system was deemed unserviceable. The RTI system has been terribly unreliable. Nine times out of 10, when I want to use the system via RTiPanel , the system does not work. RTiPanel runs, but I am unable to select a zone. To get it to work requires resetting all of the components of the system and restarting the iPad. Just killing RTiPanel won't complete the reset. Inevitably, when I have guests and want the system to just work, I will have to try to reset it, taking several minutes. Then I have to field questions about how much I spent for a system that doesn't work reliably.

Consider other options if you want a system that will work when you need it.

And, yes, the system and app were professionally installed.

Never works. Needs to be consistently updated to stay the course with Apple updates

RTI panel often requires re configuration. And app is extremely slow. I wish I didn’t purchase the product and had to deal with RTiPanel.

Glitchy and unreliable. A cheap universal remote from Walmart would work better than RTiPanel. Terrible experience. I wouldn’t wish this level of frustration on my greatest enemy. Don’t do it.

Noted comments by others about how rti also loses connection to wifi frequently. The comments were 2 years old but I still see that regularly now on may 2024. Rti apparently has not addressed the underlying issues. I cannot rely on the rti app to work with any consistency, particularly when trying to control audio sources and speaker zones.

A related issue is that rti’s website does not provide for any meaningful way to provide feedback to the company. The perception is that they do not want to hear criticism of which there would be plenty.

I thoroughly regret going with rti and look forward to replacing it in the future. I would advise others looking at home and Av automation and control software to pass on rti and keep looking.

The RTI Panel software loses it’s connection to the command processor on a regular basis. I ping the command processor and it’s still there. I have to reconfigure the RTI Panel software several times a day for our iPads to work.

We’ve had a stable system for almost three years now and have kept our iPads up to date with the OS and the RTI Panel updates.

This recent problem seems to be due to the updates.

The issue seems common and I can’t find a solution.

I like the system but this seems to be a bug with no viable solutions.

Not too happy about it!

RTI is my favorite control system because of its advanced capability and fully customizable interface.

All systems work different because of your custom integrator (RTI programmer), so if something in RTiPanel “doesn’t work” it’s not RTI or RTiPanel at fault. Once programmed correctly RTI is virtually bulletproof and is extremely reliable.

RTI does however need to focus on making RTiPanel more robust and efficient for iOS and takes forever to make changes to their app behavior on iOS devices. For example Apple states “device not optimized” at initial app launch.

Wish they’d update the preview to the Apex template, and have more preloaded templates for dealers. It’s the hidden secret company that could really get some more traction if they’d just get the essentials done. Remote file uploads, password protected extractable full files, more pre-made templates, etc.

Still an awesome app / system overall. Don’t get trapped into the other cult style automation systems. RTI is awesome !

This is more of an RTI review, slightly more than RTiPanel instance it’s self. I don’t really care, if you’re taking the time to read reviews on RTiPanel.. you should get to read a little real world insight into RTI / RTi Panel overall.

Great interface! All my lights, tv, music, cameras and alarm in one easy app.

I have used, sold and programmed just about every control system on the planet and the this app app is the best. You have the ability to control the experience and give your client a custom tailored system. In this business one size fits all is not always good.

RTI is only as good as the programmer. If the programmer knows what he is doing and has invested in developing a good interface the sky is the limit.

I've been installing & programming remotes for years and this new automation app make installing a cool system a lot cheaper. You can fully customize everything in the graphics which means you can use your personal photos for your background & create your own buttons. Once downloaded the customer has nothing to worry about because the iPhone & iPad automatically resync. I have even programmed an iPad1 & it has worked great. The remote access is also a plus with the security,lighting & HVAC.

5-13 Review Update
I have now installed over 15 RTI panel systems & all I can say is all my clients are happy and I am now doing more AV work than ever. RTiPanel when it is programmed right & installed with good Wifi coverage is the best & easiest way for my homeowners to control their house. Also my RA2 systems actually work better from my RTI app than they do from the Lutron App. If you are doing a DSC security system you can control it remotely even without a monitoring contract. Now that's COOL!

I am a Platinum RTI dealer as well as a certified programmer. RTiPanel will not function without a compatible RTI home control processor that has been programmed to allow control from mobile devices. This will require an authorized RTI dealer. Visit RTI online and select Dealer Locator to find a certified installer near you.

First of all, from reading through the reviews it appears that all the negative comments actually have very little to do with RTiPanel itself and more to do with the interface design or physical installation which falls on the company which sold these folks their systems. This interface can be customized to look however you want. The template pictured here is a basic stock template and is not the only option. RTiPanel is 100% customizable and is absolutely rock solid when properly configured and installed by a legitimate RTI professional. Thanks RTI for an awesome product!

RTiPanel is not working on my iPhone 12. We did a lot of troubleshooting and came to the conclusion that it’s the iPhone 12. We tried it on 3 other phones. Could you PLEASE fix this bug?

I've had the RTI system for 5 months now, and it continues to work great. My professional installer setup an iPad Mini, and an iPhone 6, specially configured the layout and buttons, and it all works great! Now, I'm ready for RTI to make an Apple Watch companion. I'd love to be able to do a few simple functions, like volume control and channel up/down, from my Apple Watch. I know, really lazy, but would be really cool to show your friends. There are other home automation apps with Apple Watch compatibility, and I'm sure RTI will do the same to stay at the top of their game.

While it'll take a bit of time to fully test and score on our end, I've still rated RTiPanel 5-stars for just finally being available.

It's difficult to convince a client that they're investing in a great product when it's taken this long for RTiPanel to be available vs. competing products and platforms.

However, if it's as intuitive to use for our end-users as the handheld devices, it'll be worth having!

It's with great anticipation that I'll be able to program RTiPanel and control my devices with our much-touted iPhone/iPod/iPad hardware. Finally we'll have an integration solution that works with the Mac-Mini based solutions we provide our clients without having to shuffle back between a discrete apple product and a traditional RTI handheld device. Also worth mentioning is that by having RTiPanel, we'll effectively be able to reduce the hardware costs to our users.

I install this system if it’s done right it’s a solid app. RTiPanel is only as good as your installer if you not have a good network it won’t work well. If done right it works perfectly. Assignment of static ip’s must be don’t and shorten your DHC in your router settings so that you don’t have other devices trying to grab your processors IP that’s the biggest mistake made.
