You can’t unnsubscribe through there app. I keep getting charged monthly! ParaglidingMap is a piece of trash!

Unsubscribe function does not work under iOS IPhone 8+ with latest iOS. Do not subscribe unless you want to pay forever!

I installed ParaglidingMap to check it out. The first thing it did was to show me a 5 second pop up ad which repeats every so often. ParaglidingMap seems to have no information about several sites near me that I know are in use. Overall ParaglidingMap is not worth it.

ParaglidingMap seems like it has some potential, but I can’t really sort out whether it’s worth keeping it—much less paying for it. It’s basically a map database with launch sites, LZ’s, webcams, and even thermals marked, as well as a future flyability (forecast) function ...theoretically. The problem is that the trial/free version has too many features disabled to assess it (basically all those I mentioned, plus no topo/terrain maps, satellite maps, etc.). So, unless you do a 7-day trial with automatic subscription renewal unless you cancel, you basically just have the simple map from Google with a bunch of pins in it. For someone with cursory knowledge of local launch sites, the trial version of ParaglidingMap has LESS information than simply going online to look at ParaglindingEarth or government maps and checking weather. So, as one could imagine, I’m DEFINITELY not going to go for a 7-day free trial with automatic subscription renewal just to see if it does anything more useful. I was actually interested in the webcams too, since I wasn’t aware of one of them at a local spot. If dev would do something like temporarily allowing all features of ParaglidingMap without forcing people to do that dumb 7-day automatic renewal thing, I’d say there might be a good thing here. I’ll never know because I’m not interested in getting roped into a subscription just to find out. *Delete*

This used to be the best. I even had a Pro subscription. Seems they got greedy. Raised the price to nearly 5/mo and apparently canceled grandfathered in subs. Now ParaglidingMap shows ridiculously invasive ads about every 60 seconds if you don’t have Pro. I understand developing costs, to charge 5/mo for the mostly user submitted info from ParaglidingMap. Not cool.

Hit the “write a review” Icon and was dumped in the middle of someone’s attempt at writing a review, had to send it myself to be able to start my own review? Weird!

Now for more suggestions, since we pilots like to travel around a lot, it would be helpful if the developer would add contact information for local instructors and anyone apt to give site intros. Also local flight clubs for the purpose of supporting the club and making sure we are keeping up with local restrictions. Also the locations where gear may be obtained? This option may encourage input from local instructors and club members who want their services to be more readily available.

Interface could use an update. Not much site info in my area (AK.)

Pretty neat app! I checked on 2 local sites(120+ miles away) and both had been updated in the past hour.

Wish there was an iPad version. Also if it was tailored to all powerless flight groups instead of just paragliding, that would be even better. For all intents and purposes, it works! I want to give 5 stars, but gave 4 due to the reasons stated above. But it is very close to getting all 5!

The best way to have Paraglidingearth on the iPhone! Sometimes the icon fly able/non-fly able don't match the text info, so make sure to tap on the icon to see the text data.

Nice app that gives a quick indication (not to be confused with a detailed weather report!) of whether a site is likely flyable in a given day.

I like ParaglidingMap to find new places around me to paraglide or ground handle,if there is any issues that you my have,Craig will certainly make things right!

I have to admit, I don’t use this for paragliding. I use it mainly to show wind speed and direction with standard wind barbs. There have been some issues in past releases, but this one works great! I’m super happy.

It was very useful app for us to pick the right spots when we’ve flown in Austria last week.

I also like that ParaglidingMap has a great support as all my questions and minor issues was answered and resolved in 12 hours.

I started using ParaglidingMap in 2023 before my first to France. I loved it and its ease of use as well as its compilation of data. I continued to use it when back in the US and traveling to new sites. Then in Mexico and again in France this summer of 2024. I love it!

And, like the author above, I emailed Craig about a support issue and got an excellent and prompt response and help from him.

Highly recommended for all levels of pilots!

Just got ParaglidingMap and have checked it out but not used it for flying yet, but had some difficulty installing it and had one on one support throughout the process, which never happens when you download an app these days!

This has been my go to app for paragliding since as long as I can remember. Always up to date w/ great features and customer support. Highly recommend for those just getting into the sport as well as those that have been flying for years. 10/10!

Can't wait to really use it this summer! Two update suggestions- could you show the wind at each weather station as an arrow? And could you give an option to show the wind in mph instead of km/h?

I use it every week and works just great, all my friends (pilots) call me to ask me what ParaglidingMap says :-) and on the flying site works like a charm!

I have been using ParaglidingMap for two years now and it has helped me greatly planning my travels for unknown flying sites and choosing depending on actual weather.
I recently had an issue with ParaglidingMap and emailed Craig. He fixed the issue almost instantly and was incredibly helpful.
This is a « must have » for paragliding pilots. Well worth the subscription!

Intuitive and easy to use. Data is well depicted. Great!
