The app shuts down when i login then try to click on settings. Have reinstalled it multiple times. I continues to happen.

This app continues to lock up and over heat my phone. I have no other troubles with other apps just this one.

The app keeps locking up. Starts out ok then locks up after a few minutes for the rest of the day

The Chive app: Probably the best and worst app in the world. I have deleted and reinstalled several times. None of my other apps freeze up. Constantly closing and reopening the app but it still freezes. Seems like the problem began when they started running all the ads (multiple ads on one screen). I get they want you to pay to remove ads, but this is a terrible user experience. So frustrating that I’m close to permanently deleting the app.

Freezes and freezing bleeds out into iPhone usage. Seems tied to gifs. Behavior seems that all gifs ever loaded keep processing long after they have left the screen

The app has been crashing for two weeks multiple times per day

Keeps freezing and crashing. Been going on now for at least a month. Did they do an update to an inferior product?

Same as others. Last few months the app freezes and. Then kicks me out. Please fix.

The app cause my iPhone 12 to lag and become extremely hot.

Same as everyone else. Chive IT has told me 3 times that they are fixing it by the end of the week. Been 3 months now. Freezing and crashing my phone. Drains battery. Phone returns to normal once I finally get the App closed. Their IT department must be a couple of Junior High kids. I would personally dump and re-tool that whole department. Same issue as others, phone gets ridiculous hot after 5 mins. No other app has that effect.

When viewing posts (mostly those with .gifs), the app becomes sluggish, phone starts to overheat and the battery quickly begins to drain.

F the Chive app. This problem of overheating has been ongoing for at least a month and they have made no comment about it. It ruined my phone. I can not use my phone in my car on a hot day any longer, until the AC has got it cool in my car. I get a “Phone is overheating” message, or something to that effect. THIS IS NOT AN APPLE PROBLEM, THIS IS A CHIVE PROBLEM.

The Chive APP will work fine for 5 min. than the screen keeps locking up. Never happened until the last few months. The screen does not lock for any other app. Tried deleting app than reloading still locks. (I have an IPAD) with all software upgrades.

While using app, iPhone overheats, screen goes to dark mode, and and then app becomes unresponsive. I have stopped viewing Chive app.

The app has been very slow for quite some time now and it gets really slow and freezes up completely after only a few images (eg. part way through Daily Morning Randomness). Not sure what is wrong but as it only happens on the Chive App, it would appear to be a Chive issue, not a hardware one. Would greatly appreciate a fix asap.

Chive app overheats my iPhone. It then goes dim, freezes, and/or closes. Upgraded from an iPhone 11 to an iPhone 13 pro max. Slightly better but still causes the issues.

For a few months now I have had issues with the Chive app when in use slowing down and then totally freezing my iphone XR. I have to turn the phone off and back on to get things working again. This happens after just a few galleries. I have tried all the fixes I can find on Google and nothing works. Very frustrating. I do not encounter this issue when using any other apps...!

Like many others, the app won’t stay open. It shows the home screen for a split second and then minimizes immediately, remaining open in the background but unable to actually open the content. I have rebooted my IPhone and cleared the cache, and deleted and reinstalled it numerous times, all to no avail.

I’ve also recently found my IPhone 12 Pro on iOS 15.5 is getting really really hot within a minute or two of opening the chive app, forces the phone to slow down dramatically. Force close the app and phone immediately begins to cool and returns to normal speed.

Yep browsing lists slows until it crashes. Exacerbated by lists with GIFs and video ads. Phone also gets very hot and battery usage increases during the slowdown. This needs to get addressed

Used to be videos would slow iPhone 12 to a crawl once in a while. Now just picture scrolling too. Apparently graphics chip is really working hard because phone gets hot. I am up to date on 15.5 iOS.

The chive app sucks on iOS. It’s been really bad for five years now. The app creators don’t care. So imo the chive app is awful, not worth downloading

Crashes immediately. Tried repeatedly to delete, reinstall, clear cache, etc. No luck.

Often when scrolling through a feed, the app freezes, slows down, and won’t allow me to finish the page. It slows my entire iPhone down to the point where I can’t make phone calls or receive them. Once I am finally able to close the app out, it all stops and I can use my phone again. Major loading problem using the app.

The Chive will not open on my phone but it opens on my spouses. I’ve uninstalled & installed it but issue is still there.

Hi there, My Chive App keeps freezing or reacting very slowly to commands. I don't have this issue with other Apps. I have tried the options here; How to Fix theCHIVE app Crashes or Not Working on Iphone (iOS): but no luck...!
