I used to like it now I love it!!

I’ve been a loyal escort fan and customer for at least 10 years and the only negative to the whole system was EscortLiveRadar . The UI was very buggy and the connection to the detector was like playing Russian roulette. The new updated app is MILES ahead of the old in appearance and performance. Very intuitive and full of information that is easy to obtain and base decisions off of and makes you appreciate the concept of the LIVE community even more. This update was worth the wait. Relocating to an area that is around 5-6 hours from my home town, I make frequent trips home to see family through north Florida and South Georgia which are hot beds for laser and radar activity. I know the system has paid for itself more than once. Keep up the good work escort.

Not a bad app but needs improvement

My device, Escort Max 360c by itself is awesome, but add Live Service and its even better. WiFi option is hit and miss as a lot of times the device doesn’t pick up on new firmware or database updates. EscortLiveRadar is cool, overall not bad but it needs improvements. My biggest issue is Bluetooth not connecting or disconnecting for no reason what so ever. Another issue is the vehicle speed display which shows 10mph faster then what the device itself shows. The device I have been able to confirm is actually 1 mph faster then actual speed…Not bad and not worth complaining about. As far as EscortLiveRadar , displayed vehicle speed needs to be fixed as do WiFi and Bluetooth. I also think user options for EscortLiveRadar display / colors / map / etc should be expanded so the user can “customize” the displays etc. Navigation either integrated into EscortLiveRadar or the ability to apply EscortLiveRadar to a navigation source such as Apple Maps or google maps wouldn’t be asking too much considering the cost of the device and Live services subscription. Making EscortLiveRadar CarPlay / Sync compatible and being able to connect and have full app video / audio / settings etc to in vehicle touch screen via usb would be another great idea

Requires you to divert attention from the road dangerously

I have been an escort use or for fifteen years. EscortLiveRadar would be great if it didn’t mute your detector after two beeps. It requires you to divert your eyes off the road and watch either the phone screen or detectors display to monitor the signal strength and Band signal is in. The beauty of the older escorts and the current one without using EscortLiveRadar is you get all the information you need from the tone type and intensity without taking your eyes off the road. I tested EscortLiveRadar out on a drive and liked the fact it locked out the grocery store signals and other false signals in town were silenced. But when legitimate signals came, it’s two beeps and then you have to watch the phone if you want to know signal strength. This makes instant on situations, where you hear a quick burst and it increases as you approach and other cars are checked, impossible to safely monitor for with EscortLiveRadar . I’ll cal customer service tomorrow and if they can’t resolve this issue I’ll return the new app enabled escort I’ve just bought. If that’s the case, I’ll jump ship to use valentine one products.

Thumbs down on new app version

Got back in my car after a stop and saw a new version of the Escort Live app was active and was very disappointed with the user interface, and because it was new but that the design was pretty dreadful. The screen with the map wasn’t that bad (though the original was better in my opinion) but the design of the dashboard was the worst part. That dark gray background overwhelms and the digital numerals for the speed are much smaller than the original and almost illegible. The ring around the speedometer is barely visible and I have no idea what the extra wedge shaped at the four corners surrounding the speedometer are! Way too fussy and distracting. Not enough visual contrast. Seriously, if I could give it no stars I would. In concept EscortLiveRadar worked great. I’m not sure why the wholesale change. None of the changes enhance the apps use and even some of the color choices mystify me. Those green lines top and bottom of the screen serve no outpost but to distract from what is already an inferior UI. Sorry, Escort. Great detectors but you should can this new version of EscortLiveRadar and go back to the previous one ASAP.

At least it’s better than button only

EscortLiveRadar seems functional and certainly allows for user control that the R7 I previously purchased and returned after a few weeks of irritation and false alerts.

Buying the Escort 360C Max was no small expense. I’m unclear if the regular 360 was able to be accessed with a phone, for essential adjustment of the features.
If the phone control was what the added $200 than I guess it’s essential.
But the mapping portion of the package is in my opinion pretty worthless.
Waze is free and gives a valuable police marking function as well as other alerts.
This means tens of thousands of users are working together for a common cause.
The hundreds of (probably dozens at best) Escort users in my city (Madison, WI.) means essentially no one is offering anything in real-time or worth.
The full screen speedometer feature is just another distraction from the road.

If all I bought for the extra money was the map and speedo screen, I’d say I was hosed. I’m definitely certain the subscription I paid for a 3yr period (the notification I see on my unit is for precisely one year from date of purchase) better update annually thru 2023 or I’ll certainly find another vendor in the future if I decide to upgrade in the future.

Good device app ok

EscortLiveRadar’s real competition is Waze. The disadvantage of EscortLiveRadar is that it requires the user to have an Escort radar detector and pay a subscription fee. This limits the number of users. Also, it is not enabled for AppleCarPlay. Waze is free, has more users and is CarPlay compatible. The advantage of EscortLiveRadar is that if another user’s detector finds a Ka band radar, you will be alerted that there is active radar (or laser) ahead. This is a great warning for both instant on and moving patrol cars. Waze can’t do this. I use Waze on my AppleCarPlay and have Escort Live on for audio warnings. If Escort Live gets more users and CarPlay support, it would be a real winner.

Just not connecting.

My radar detector works; EscortLiveRadar seems to work independent of the radar detector, which is good. Not great. I can’t get the Bluetooth to detect that the radar detector is on even though it is; I have all my settings correct as far as I can tell; yet with zero interface between EscortLiveRadar and the radar detector; they work independent of one another. Seems to defeat the point. Obviously if they worked well in tandem EVER EscortLiveRadar & the accompanying hardware ESCORT MAX 360 this product would be primo a 5star app & Radar detector device. Falls short on connectivity & isn’t as user friendly as I hoped. Fir full transparenc, I must admit I didn’t memorize the owners manual either. Take this with a grain of salt for good measure. Troubleshooting on the road is difficult if nothing impossible

Used to be good but...

I’ve had EscortLiveRadar with my radar detector for about six months and at first it worked great. After about two months if someone marked a cop and I didn’t have EscortLiveRadar open it would freeze EscortLiveRadar and my radar detector. Thought it was my radar detector so sent it back to escort under warranty. Well EscortLiveRadar didn’t stop freezing so I just kept it up on my phone. About two weeks ago EscortLiveRadar started crashing to the point I can’t even load EscortLiveRadar . This needs to be reviewed because there’s no point in paying for the service when I can’t even use it. Also, my thought, this should be set up to work with Apple CarPlay. Would be easier to utilize some of the functions on my radio rather than grabbing my phone.

Saved me to many times to count.

I’m currently on my 2 nd Escort product since 2010. The Passport IQ was my first and it lasted for years and it never failed me. Once they quit making, or repairing the IQ I got the 360 max. I’m currently around 235,000 in my current vehicle and I drive it like it’s the last lap at Daytona. Other than one of the arrows quit working and the letters wears off the buttons the device still performs like it did when I got it. I still use the Esort Live app and I still 100% satisfied. Hopefully I’ll be able to get another one soon.

Amazing app. Could not live without it.

I love being able to find alerts for police, radar etc even before my detector could possibly pick it up. I feel part of a family all reporting issues.

The graphics on the map are fine, but the graphics on the dashboard are terrible. Too small to be of any use. I like the new report button as that is much nicer now. However the requirement to hit it a 3rd time to add moving or stationary for seeing police is a distraction for yet another few seconds. Sad for an app that claims it not a driving hindrance.

Great detector

App mostly does what it’s supposed to though travelling to work at 5am i get a lot of false ka readings where i never used to.
The posted speed limit reading has gone haywire, the posted speed limits of 75 mph show 120mph and a 40 mph posted speed shows as 70 mph. The detector itself stopped taking updates around 6 month after i got it.
It connects to my house wifi but will not connect to my trucks 4g hotspot. Overall the detector does what it’s designed to do.

Don’t waste your money if it the app crashes and escort doesn’t accept derive calls

Have had EscortLiveRadar send message that “your subscription has expired” 3x in last year. Escort has plenty reps to take sales calls but they have not accepted service calls in months bc of the pandemic really!!!??? Last successful attempt to reach someone to help was In February and downloaded all the “updates” again on from their website which worked for a month but no way to make it work now since June. No one seems to care and you’ll get the message that we closed down and reopened but haven’t enough time to train service personnel that is the reasons you’ll get when you need service!! But they will continue to see you new units.... no prob.

Not impressed

I wasn’t happy to realize that to get all the features of the radar detector, I have to use EscortLiveRadar on my phone the entire time driving with a current paid subscription. The posted speed limit that is displayed on the radar detector gets it from EscortLiveRadar on your phone. The posted speed limit is wrong at least 30% of the time. The detection of radar is pretty good, but not $700 good. I should have returned it but I need it and it works better than my older escort radar detector. There are lots of settings for the radar detector but I haven’t found an explanation of what they all do. All in all, I should have bought a model with good reception and less trick features at a cost of a paid subscription.

Not so happy

Overall my experience with my Max3 has been pretty positive, but lately I’ve been experiencing some issues with either the unit or EscortLiveRadar , I noticed that the GPS is off by a lot, for instance if I’m in a speed zone of 40 MPH the unit and app will display the speed limit being 64MPH, when in a 45MPH zone the unit/app will display the limit is 72MPH and when in a 50MPH zone the unit/app will display the limit as 80MPH!
Kind of unsettling, I have updated the unit and I have uninstalled and reinstalled EscortLiveRadar several times with no change!
After spending nearly $400 for the unit I’m becoming very disappointed in the purchase, and unfortunately I’m outside my return window!
Is there a fix for this??? Or am I stuck with the unit lying to me?

Released before it was ready

I have a redline and used the prior app for years, exclusively for my motorcycle. It connected to my Bluetooth headset in my helmet.

The new app doesn’t work properly. It looks great. That’s it. The voice and radar alerts don’t connect to other Bluetooth devices like it used to. Sometimes it works. I can’t figure out why, it’s likely a conflict in the connectivity that is resolved based on the order in which things are connected. But I couldn’t get it to work reliably or consistently.

This is a major flaw. If I could I’d go back to the last generation software. Without Bluetooth connectivity the radar is useless. It’s just a pretty application on your phone.

By

Crowdsourced data needs users

1. It seems to run great in the background. It automatically connects to my 360c every time I get in the car with no action on my part. Only had it spontaneous disconnect from Bluetooth and not reconnect once so far.

2. Unfortunately, EscortLiveRadar doesn’t work well when it’s actually running in the foreground with the phone one because it crashes constantly, and doesn’t keep my iPhone from sleeping after 1 minute. So, it’s entirely useless in that regard.

3. It works well at configuring the radar detector, but sometimes the existing setting for an option does not show correctly.

By

Please fix or allow legacy devices on the new app!

Hasn’t been an update to EscortLiveRadar in over a year. Just this week, my max 360 started disconnecting from EscortLiveRadar every 10 seconds or so. Then, today, it starts showing the posted speed limit on my radar detector anywhere from 86 to 108 mph. As I was trying to deal with that, I was logged out of EscortLiveRadar for a couple of hours, and despite changing my password, was unable to log back in.

Not working with Redline EX anymore

Works with my Max 360 every time I get in the truck. Connects automatically in a minute or two. However in the other vehicle I have a Redline EX. I had issues before but the software update resolved the issue (after I sent my Redline to Escort to have it loaded with updates that it refused to accept). Now my iPhone won’t connect to my Smartcord live (That I bought to fix the issue before and it worked) or my Redline EX. In fact my iPhone might be stuck up because the Bluetooth seems to be too good to even acknowledge the existence of either of those devices. It’s a sad world when our iPhones refuse to communicate because of social status.

Sometimes iffy app

There are times when I’m unable to post the location of police or other information, like traffic congestion. I push the appropriate symbol and nothing posts on EscortLiveRadar like it used to. Too many glitches! Sad to say, but old app was better and it allowed you to push a button on the power cord to identify police locations without having to take your eyes off the road to push two police symbols on the screen. Disappointed!

Fails to recognize my Redline

What good is this if it never recognizes my Redline? I’m not a subscriber because it’s basically useless. The detector tells me if there is radar ahead, who cares what someone else experienced. The CHP are in cars that move, so because they were there does not mean that they are still there.

The reason I downloaded it was to take advantage of the connection to the detector, which apparently would enable me to make sure the detector firmware remains up to date. I have Redlines in all three of my cars and it would be nice if EscortLiveRadar recognized even one of them. The lack of a help/troubleshooting menu means I’m lost. Help resolving this problem between my Redline and my iPhone 7 Plus running IOS 13.2 would be appreciated.

New app is horrendous

The new app is a complete 180 from the last version as far as usability and it has bugs. The new screen setup, especially the size of the speedometer numbers is horrible. In the old app I could easily see everything while driving without being distracted from the road. Now you can’t even see your speed much less any alerts without staring intently at the screen. The over speed limit setting doesn’t work correctly (bug) and even when it is turned off your speedometer number still turns red. When the numbers are red they are impossible to see. There is also no difference between the day and night settings (another bug). Please, please, please offer the old version of EscortLiveRadar to make EscortLiveRadar useful again. I’ve been giving this new version my best attempt to somehow like it but I don’t think it is possible. Escort has taken a perfectly good app that I relied on on a daily basis and completely destroyed it. I’ve used Escort live for many years but this horrendous change may leave me no choice but to start investigating other radar detector devices and companies.

Love the app and service, but ...

As it turns out, my subscription expired and the update doesn’t seem to let me renew. Tapping “Subscribe” offers me the same blank stare as my 13 year old when asked to clean his room.

I see a lot of new features in the update that are similar to those presently in Waze. I’d really rather just see some kind of integration. Particularly since I either have to choose dueling notifications, or selectively enable/disable notifications from one or the other.

App/Product Review

Started using the Escort a year ago and has completely changed the way in which I drive. Easy to use, easy to manage, and beyond all has never failed with an alert.

EscortLiveRadar is as incredible as the device. Glad the redesign is allowing a detail by detail record of where and when I detected. Overall EscortLiveRadar provides a safe way to observe the roads, speed limits, and commute of you and your family.

5 stars all around, Highly recommend.

Would be a greater app IF

Escort if you were to add navigation to EscortLiveRadar . I think it would be the greatest app out there. Currently while traveling I have to have two apps running to have navigation. I would like to see navigation and speed traps on same screen.
If you make this possible I think people would really be satisfied
Does has its bugs to it but I think escort can fix
Thanks for reading

App works much better than before update, but the dashboard is too dark!

I’m using EscortLiveRadar with a Redline on my motorcycle. EscortLiveRadar functions and connects to my Smart cord Live much better than the previous version, but the dashboard is way too dark for daytime use. The previous version’s dashboard was legible in sunlight but the new one is not. If you could update EscortLiveRadar with light/dark/high contrast dashboard options EscortLiveRadar would get 5 stars from me!

Some Improvement

The new Escort Live App has improved on the Map side of EscortLiveRadar . however the Dashboard definitely took a step backward, when i get alerts now you can barely see them I have to put on my glasses to see the type of alert, with the old dashboard it popped up front and center and very easy to read, same with the speed very hard to read with the improved app. if you want to improve EscortLiveRadar bring back the old Dashboard and leave the map side alone...or at the very least make the alerts and speed large enough to read at a glance...
