Now they're here, retold with bags of character for your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. But the tale is only half the story! All our titles come with bright, colourful illustrations to complete the listening and reading experience, with lots of fun along the way. • Stories from The Story Mouse are presented as virtual books. Our professional presenter reads the story aloud as the text appears. On the iPad, each page has an illustration on the left, with the text on the right. On the iPhone and iPod touch, the illustrations are displayed full screen when you hold the device vertically. Turn the device horizontally to display the text. Sentences are highlighted as the story progresses, making the words easy to follow. • Tales from The Story Mouse are perfect for bedtime listening or on a long journey. Not only that, but there is a "read it myself" mode too which turns the voice off. Young readers can then use the app as a regular book to advance the story at their own pace. All our stories are a pure listening experience for younger children, as well as a read-along experience for those who are learning to read. • Best of all, The Story Mouse comes with free stories! So much fun!
I started with this app with little confidence, having previewed or purchased several storybooks or storybook apps. To my delight, this app came with a free story that captured the imagination of my child and, if I'm being honest; me! The free story was so loved by my daughter we purchased another, then another, each time our expectations were met in excess. We love the dialect of the readers; so much so that my daughter insists Samson (Bible story) speaks with the same dialect... so I try. Much of the allure for us is the imagery. Where other apps fail is with too much animation or interaction. The images in the Story Mouse books are enough to leave the storytelling up to the listeners' imagination, where it should be, and enough extra sounds and reading style for an inexperienced reader to learn to read it with style 'on your own'. We don't have them all, but we are enjoying this app and its stories very much!

Delightful storybooks with a modern twist to the tale
Thanks to A4CWSN for sharing this app full of familiar stories told with an English accent in a modernized version. Love the cute way of bringing more familiar language into the tales. Read to me or read myself control nice. Page turning sound when turn pages manually. Several tales to choose between. Illustrations very nice. Thanks to our friends across the pond. Well done old chap. On my wish list for future books is something geared toward teenage readers, so those with special challenges have age appropriate choices. I know you are geared to younger readers, but I said this was my wish list:)

Excellent app, keeps my preschooler's attention
Good choice of classic and other fun stories read very well (enthusiastic renditions) with fun illustrations, words read get highlighted, child flips pages when ready, but note: readers have British accents and use some British slang that may be unfamiliar. Sometimes the books have a slight departure from the commonly heard versions which keeps it more interesting. We love these books!
