WSPA 7News Reviews

This used to be the only news app I used. Over the last six to eight months, it either crashes, freezes up, or it returns me to the first article while I’m just reading the titles of articles. I now have to rely on the two other news stations to get my news and hope they talk about the weather and news stories that are relevant to my county. Before you ask, yes, my app is up to date and automatically updates when a new version/update becomes available. Please fix your app.

For the last few weeks, the WSPA app has crashed every time it’s opened - read half of one article, then it freezes and has to be restarted. As for substance, most subjects are glossed ove in a couple of short paragraphs, with little real info.

It seems that WSPA doesn’t cate to put much effort into their mobile online presence.

This is the most unstable app I have ever used. I never manage to get through the entire news content without it freezing and/or shutting down. It’s been a problem for a couple of years but has gotten worse recently despite the fact that both WSPA7News version and my O/S are up-to-date.

I downloaded the free app to stay abreast of local news and issues, but it constantly freezes up to the point or it is not useful at all. Will be deleting WSPA7News and seeking another local news app that actually works!

I enjoy receiving the news via WSPA7News but your reporting is sometimes sub par. A lot of your articles contain horrible grammatical errors and multiple misspellings. Is there no proofreading process?

It is painfully obvious that you folks are in love with Clemson and you seem unable to realize that there are other teams that contribute locally. Furman is a pillar in the Greenville community and the Upstate has a large number of fans for The University of South Carolina, too.

Personally Channel 7 is the only place I get my local news and it’s disheartening that EVERY time I access WSPA7News it freezes and I need to close and restart WSPA7News . I have deleted and reinstalled with no change. PLEASE!!! Fix your app.

My phone constantly locks up when I click on one of their stories to read. Too many commercials trying to sell you something running at the same time. This is the only app that I have this problem with, please fix.

Love looking at my local news on my phone but WSPA7News freezes up EVERY TIME I use it. It’s become unbearable. I can hardly look at two stories before the thing just stops working. I’m deleting WSPA7News . Please fix this issue.

I do like WSPA7News. but WSPA7News . is driving me crazy it pops up with the same story and it just like what you read three minutes ago. If it’s going to pop up at least have more to say that we will let you know when more is available

The glitches and freezing up of WSPA7News are almost too much to bear sometimes. That coupled with the grammatical errors that are allowed make me want to delete WSPA7News and get my news elsewhere.

Most of the time I love WSPA7News , but have some issues that need to be worked on! A lot the time it goes off when reading a story! Love News Channel 7 but really do not like the split news screen with Amy being in Greenville! I like it better with the News team being together! One thing I don't like is you have more news for Greenville instead of Spartanburg! I live in Spartanburg and want to know what's happening here not Greenville!

I’ll give instances where WSPA7News has update issues
When hurricane Dorian was tracking to SC coast SPA hurricane news was all about Michael from a year ago.
Throughout Nexstar negotiations with Directv updates on situation were missed. I did not see SPA post anything about when it back on Directv nor statements welcoming viewers back
Last your “news” posts are sometimes days or weeks old on national items.

Thank you for sharing this on your station yesterday. To my knowledge, WYFF didn’t show up. They are a few doors down from Gateway.
I do not find a way to reach them, but I am very ashamed of them.

I love WSPA7News! It helps me stay up to date with what’s going on in my community and let’s me know when to avoid the interstate!!

WSPA7News is working very poorly, so much wrong that I can't start describing.. I know you can do better

I’m not always able to catch the news. Channel 7 app keeps me with updates via notifications... and I love how QUICK they are at delivering the “NOW” news.

I read your paper about 2 to 3 times a week to try to keep up with the news in the up state.

Crashes when you scroll!! Please fix this!! On IPhone 8. iPhone 11 seems to be ok and iPad it’s ok. Last update 3/18 has a bug!!!!

Top notch during the week. Christie is still the best on the weather. Weekend drops off a bit, they are not as experienced as their weekday counterparts. But show promise.

Unresponsive and boring ads that will not respond to scroll instructions. I will be deleting WSPA7News for one that does not force me to look at a 2 week old ad for over a minute or more and will not scroll out of the way as the instructions imply

Slow to load, often crashes. Content is okay, but someone should read the reports before posting them. There are far too many grammatical mistakes.

Awesome cast from all the years Tom was there. Love Amy and the Entire cast. The way we are kept informed from news to weather. Gotta Love it

I have notifications turned on for WSPA7News simply because of the notices about I-85 traffic. It’s the BEST!
