What I think of this program so far

I am a new user to this program. My doctor wanted carbs vs calories this program seems to foot the bill Easley. So far the only thing i really really miss is the ability to "" scan"" in my foods vs try to find the proper one example would be ham. Between ham and bacon there must be 50 entry's to go thru. Salad dressing only a handful. Scanning is a great way to start your "my favorites log". It helps to get it right the first time and not have to change it 10 times to get it right. The help page log helps a lot. The program is easy to get thru once you get the hang of it. Thanks Jerry

Seems like a great app

At this moment I am only giving DiabetesAppLite 4 stars because I have only used it for 2 days , but being a newly diagnosed diabetic I have to say I am impressed on how useful it has already been . I will continue to use it and up date my review in the future

Helpful App

As someone diagnosed with borderline diabetes, DiabetesAppLite provides a short term tool to track carbs, water intake and all that is part of eating and living healthier to control my condition. Using it for this purpose "does not"? present limitations. Wrong, there is a serious limitation. Want to further update this review regarding my failure to fully understand the conditions of DiabetesAppLite . It is a SAMPLE app and does not do anything but let you try it, on a short term basis, before you are compelled to pay for it. There many other Apps that will track daily nutrition without having be stopped while trying to continue to track important relevant dietary information. DiabetesAppLite should not be offered under these conditions. In effect, you will loose all your data if you don't pay for it.

Will not transfer info when you upgrade

I tried it out through the lite version first to see if it was for me. The lite version will only allow you to log 10 glucose readings before it forces you to upgrade. Okay, no big deal. I selected "upgrade" within DiabetesAppLite , purchased the full version, and went in to log my new glucose level. It did not transfer any of the information I logged from the lite app into the full version at all. I have used all the features, and it would take me several hours to re-log all of the information. This is definitely a flaw that I hope they fix soon.

Good way to track numbers

As a highly engaged dad, I want to be highly methodical and tactful in the way I log medicine, carbs, and such for a child with diabetes. DiabetesAppLite makes it easy to track and log carbs and medication. It allows you to adjust serving size and create new food items. The data that is already in DiabetesAppLite is pretty accurate. I take confidence in being to use DiabetesAppLite to track diabetes. It's intuitive. I can even track weight, height, and BMI.

I don't like surprises :(

I downloaded 2 different apps for glucose monitoring - the other was glucose buddy. I wanted to see which would work best for my needs. I like the ease of entry and its comprehensive nature, although I track the other features elsewhere. I was still torn until my attempted 11th entry. If it's not free or if it will require an upgrade to continue, then tell me that from the beginning. :(
I even checked to see the difference between the lite and the full versions and saw no real difference. I'll continue using Glucose Buddy. Hopefully, there'll be no surprises there.

Unsupperted App

DiabetesAppLite has not been supported since Nov 2013. I tried the lite version and it was easy to use. I upgraded to the full version and used it for 6 months, but the longer I used it the more evident the lack of support became.

One of the most important things are the food lists in DiabetesAppLite . These have become very outdated, causing me to have to go to resources outside DiabetesAppLite for info. Got tired of this and finally just went to another app altogether.

If the authors are not going to provide on-going support, DiabetesAppLite should be discontinued since people spend their money on a completely inadequate app without knowing about he lack of support.

Diabetes app

DiabetesAppLite is easy to set up and easy to use and that makes it exciting to monitor so I feel like I'm winning the battle. I can see my progress or where I need to make changes that makes me feel better over all. Diabetes is a tough opponent but with DiabetesAppLite added to my arsenal we can put a hurting on it, in turn we feel better. It's a winner for me!

Miss leading

I will now be using your app or recommend to any one on a scale 1-10 ur a -1.
I used ur app lite version there was no mention of trial period I've been using DiabetesAppLite to monitor and keep records for my doctor to report on how my new meds insulin is working for two weeks now. But today I log my password to enter my glucose an I'm locked out unless I upgrade an I can't get any of my history at a time when my life depends on data, I had a heart attack an stroke and most med are not workings so they're trying but we need data an know your app has set us back. You could have told me this.

So far, so good

I'm using Diabetes Lite, version 1.5.1. So far, I like it very much. My main challenge is getting myself to record consistently: DiabetesAppLite makes that job as convenient as it can be made. I like its lists of common foods, Brand Names, and the "add your own foods" feature. I also use the "Favorites" feature often, especially for recording breakfast.

New2me

This new venture is new to me. Recently diagnosed. Some of it is me not knowing. I got it initially and mainly to log my 3xs a day testing. If I'm doing it right, I'm logging it under Glucose. But it says mg/dl, is that where I put my readings? Not sure how that relates to my/dl but that's where I put it. The running tally i thought would be separated by day and view by month. Right now, it's just a list. I guess it's ok... But maybe I don't get it. But that's part of apps being great... Ease of use

Great App

I'm pre-diabetic and DiabetesAppLite is greatly helping me to modify my carb intake. I love that it sets the amount of carbs I can eat for the day. This way I can stay in the pre category And I absolutely love the water counter. I am not a great fan of water, but seeing the number of glasses ad water I haven't had encourages me to drink more water.

Needs more info...

So far DiabetesAppLite doesn't carry major name brands of things (like Jif or Honey Maid) so I have to do a "quick carb input" of most items I eat, which is a pain in the rear to say the least. I will probably just use the MyFitnessPal app to watch carb intake because their system has SO many options when putting in your food intake-I can use another app for the blood levels, there are a few apps for that that are free as well.

Easy to use

I am pre-diabetic. DiabetesAppLite is easy enough to use so I don't put it off. A hit and miss record is not of much use. I do not use all of the features but I am slowly being more complete in my record keeping. I am glad I have it. Thanks

Okay, but lacks functionality.

The interface is awkward. Some carb and calorie counts are incorrect. Adding foods is tedious, this is exasperated by lack of meaningful labels when adding your own recipes. Search is difficult, and simple foods are difficult to locate. It would help if you could create a recipe or item and input your own nutrition info. Without reports DiabetesAppLite is not that helpful.

Misleading

DiabetesAppLite itself is good. But it says "free" and then after 2.5 days says you have to upgrade ($6.99) to make any more entries. It should say this from the start. I have now had to write down all my entries so ican re-enter them in the new app I'm purchasing (not this one - if I'm going to pay for it, I'm going to find one that will let me separate out the nutritional content of each of the three daily snacks).

Great app

I have had no problems with DiabetesAppLite. It makes it so much easier to keep track of everything. I've tried others but I wasn't happy with them so I searched and found this one. It's so easy to use.

Good app

Compared multiple apps, the small fee to use the entire app options is worth it. Only downside is not able to find a percentage of foods in the brand names or general look up. So I have to guess or read label for the breakdown and create my own food if I eat it a lot. Kudos tho!!

Good aid

I really like DiabetesAppLite. The only thing that I see it needing is a way to scan foods that aren't on DiabetesAppLite . When I add them with all the info from the label does it then become available to others? Lots of new foods out there that are low carb so scanning would be a huge help

Better than Atkins App

I used to use the Atkins app but this one gives you the ability to track other information, not just carbs. Also, Atkins forced upgrade to newer os and won't load onto older device...
I like this one !!
