Amazing app

I gotta start off my saying that I have been a subscriber for years and I’ve seen LivePhish come a long way in that time. I very rarely have any technical issues with and I love being able to listen to phish shows and follow the tour using LivePhish. Just a few feature suggestions I think would make LivePhish even better are 1) Please get rid of the status wheel and use a status bar instead while listening to tracks. Scrubbing to a certain point in a track is very difficult on the wheel, especially if you’re trying to get to a specific point in a 20+ minute track. 2) Please, please add a native CarPlay interface for browsing the library through the screen in the car instead of having to pick up my phone and do it while driving. There’s a lot to go through on LivePhish and it’s not the safest thing to browse in the car. I use LivePhish in the car a lot and not only would it make LivePhish safer but it would also make the experience more streamlined. Overall though I absolutely can not live without LivePhish and I praise the developers for all the amazing work. Keep it up and I can’t wait to see what features you decide to add in the future.

Please improve navigation and playlist editing

Obviously the best music—this review has nothing to do with the music, just LivePhish . It’s gotten better, but still clunky.
Would be better if the menu was consistent whether you’re in “browse,” “playlists,” etc. Developers: to see what I mean, browse to tours, summer 18, for example, then to a playlist, then back to summer 18. It’s like 10 steps in each direction.
I love the big jams, so I’ve been making a lot of playlists. They’re hard to edit, even from the computer/website. Adding sorting functions like “sort by date” and “move to top” would be amazing!!! Also, the ability to remove a song from a playlist “on the go” would be a nice bonus. The other suggestions would be better though.
Strangely, if you’re streaming and you get/make a phone call, after the call the track starts over. Not a big deal if you’re listening to a band that plays 3-minute songs. But not ideal when you’re 25 minutes into a track.
I would also add a function where you can see all videos. But that would just be icing on the cheesecake.

Must have for any Phan!!

Thanks Phish! I've had a monthly subscription for years, don't know what I'd do without it. I've never experienced any problems, not sure why so many 1 star reviews. Only suggestion would be an update to include ability to select multiple tracks from show to add to playlist without having to add each track individually.

Listen to the latest show, updated daily when on tour. Also 5 full shows available for stream, usually a mixed variety of 80s, 90s, 2000s. Plus access to anything youve ever purchased from live phish or new inapp purchases. An absolute bargain. Occasional MINOR glitches are no big deal. Devs still updating content regularly whether band is on or in between tour. Thanks guys!!

When love is infuriating

I DO Love LivePhish. That being said, it might be more dangerous (to my wellbeing) than Wilson and his men on multi-beasts. Seriously if you try to even attempt to playback a show that you haven’t “saved off-line” and happen to be driving at the same time. Frustration takes over and driving suddenly takes a backseat to reloading, closing, starting over, searching, and possibly throwing said phone out the window. It works great off Wi-Fi... no issues whatsoever, and the HD is man-i-fic! Outside of Wi-Fi? You have a better chance of getting a song from a mockingbird tied up with glue and rubber bands. UNLESS! You save some shows off-line, and boot up LivePhish while in range of your Wi-Fi. Then you can listen to ANY of the 10 or so shows you chose from the ENTIRE released catalog. WHATEVER YOU DO TAKE CARE OF YOUR TUNES!

Great app!

LivePhish is awesome! The interface is intuitive and beautiful—I love seeing the artwork for the different shows while I listen. It’s also very easy to access recent shows and to explore past concerts, especially with the “Featured” tab.

While LivePhish was a little glitchy when I started using it a year ago, recent updates have done a great job of fixing the bugs. I find that it almost always runs smoothly now, and LivePhish is definitely my go-to for streaming music.

Thanks so much for developing this great app and making Phish’s music so readily accessible to fans! We appreciate you! 😄

Good but could use improvement

LivePhish is great as a tool for accessing all the Live Phish content. I like that it synced with my old Live Phish account and My Stash from years ago is still available. Playback is good with no interruptions. I noticed a glitch when browsing the shows that when I open a show to view the info and then click backwards only part of the original list shows up (for example if I’m browsing by year I only see a few shows not the full list) which means I have to reload the search again - it seems insignificant but gets annoying very quickly.

Also I would love to see a “favorite” function added so I could see a list of my favorite shows to go through instead of making individual playlists.

Pretty good overall, could be great with tweaks

I love that I can listen to nearly any Phish show in high quality through LivePhish, and overall LivePhish is good. However, some improvements are needed to make this a truly great app, including:
- remembering where you left off, even if it’s been a few hours or days since listening. This is my biggest complaint, as it’s not always obvious which show I was listening to last, and it’s annoying and time consuming to have to bring the show back up.
- improved playback performance over Bluetooth and WiFi speakers (occasionally the playing just stops, and I’ll need to manually resume or play the next song).
- ability to review or tag shows in some way, either just for personal viewing or for the community at large.
- more videos!!
- and finally, a built in sleep timer would be nice so I don’t have to use the iOS timer. (I often forget to change the timer from “stop playing” back to an actual alert when I need it).

Thank you for listening to my feedback and considering any of these upgrades. I use LivePhish a lot and am grateful it exists.

Great concept, failed execution

Wonderful app concept however the application is clunky and disfunctional. It is EXTREMELY slow and FULL of bugs that go unaddressed for long periods of time.

After creating a support ticket, I got no followup or response until I prodded, at which point they said they couldnt replicate the issue. There was no sincere effort made to help resolve the issue or wrong the right. Clearly their customer service pefers to take w defensive position over assisting paying customers when they do not deliver a working application as promised. Read all of the reviews and you will see this pattern of bland and insincere customer service emails with zero infrastructure or capability to fix or evolve LivePhish .

As someone who works in software, the ux, unaddressed bugs, and shoddy functionality make the subscription price a huge rip off. Oh and LivePhish eats tons of battery so if you have an older phone good luck with that.

Frustrating and annoying

Love all these shows, but no matter how many times I delete and redownload LivePhish , it never remembers what song I was last playing. Half the time, the current shows are out of order. I try to play the shows on any Apple device and it constantly stops between each song when playing a show. Sometimes I pause a song, come back in two minutes and it already forgets where I was in the song. For a paid service, it sure doesn’t get updated and bugs never get fixed.

A must have

LivePhish and membership for $10/month is worth it. It is great having this entire catalogue at your fingertips.
My one problem, when you close it and come back a couple hours later it loses your place. Nothing worse than being mid jam or show and not being able to finish it out or have to remember where you were or what show it was. If LivePhish wasn’t so amazing in every other aspect this would cost my review to drop to a 3 star. I really hope this gets fixed.

Absolutely love this app, AppleTV version needs some work

The iPhone version is great, I have no complaints. However it bugs me that the AppleTV version has no way to scrub through songs and doesn’t show where you’re at in a song. It is a hassle if I am looking to listen to one part of jam and can’t scrub through. Also, I have an issue where if I view the show notes, there is no way to close the notes window. The menu button on the remote exits LivePhish instead of closing the notes, forcing me to restart LivePhish and losing where I was in a show.

You guys. This app is not good. Like, at all.

Have had LivePhish for almost two years and have the normal paid subscription. Totally dig Phish. Not getting rid of it anytime soon because my playlist game is on point.

But take a step back... take the music out of it for a sec... the functionality of LivePhish that costs 10 bucks a month (!!!) is atrocious. Like, it’s so bad relative to other music streamers/services that are free. Highway robbery! It’s glitchy, search ability is poor, some shows don’t always download. It’s just not a good app.

Someone is making serious coin off these subscriptions because they sure aren’t putting the money into app functionality improvements.

Love LP

Love this app, but I do have issues with LivePhish and AirPlaying to an airport. LivePhish will play one song and then pause or something and I will have to go open LivePhish and hit play again. Repeat. Does this whether songs are being listen to directly from LivePhish or downloaded to the phone. Only does this when AirPlaying my airport but not other AirPlay or blue tooth devices. Both app and airport up to latest version. Small price to pay for getting concerts the day after the band plays!

Love the band, dislike the app

Let me be clear, I love Phish. They are far and away my favorite band. That said, LivePhish is kind of a nightmare. It's gotten better over time, but there are still tons of bugs. Sometimes it quits playing after a track is over. Sometimes it'll lose your place on LivePhish when you lock your phone. There are other issues too, but those are the primary ones that came to mind. Still, it's wonderful to have near instant access to all the new shows as well as the past official releases and tours. Way better than no app!

Playlist Sorting

Would you please fix the sorting by show date in offline playlists? At the very minimum it should sort by date, not alphanumerical. Still waiting for this. Would be nice to have composite sort too (artist plus date).

Would love to see your back-end indexing improved. As an example, try browsing by year. The search will spin for a long time before showing results. Curious to know your what you are using as your data layer. Might want to stick some ElasticSearch in the stack or something.

Heady jamz at my fingertips

Had a library of cd’s, got jacked from my car. Had a hard drive of old shows, that I can’t listen to on my phone. I decided to turn to the cloud for instant access to the headiest of jamz (Tahoe tweezer, superball Gin, everything Bakers Dozen). Can download for offline (ie flights back east cause phish hates west coast sometimes). Highly recommend this, unless you’re a dusty wook and can’t afford, then just get a job cause LivePhish is a game changer. Take more of my money Phish!

LivePhish App - Phingerling

I’m a big Phan of what they are trying to do here. I’d even consider paying the subscription fee. I think it’s a little pricey for what you get right now. But If they can get the streaming more reliable and the functionality more intuitive, this has potential to be a solid app. Currently, the buffering between songs is not conducive to a true Phish experience. Navigation to and through My Stash should be easy and seamless. It is not. Once LivePhish has the reliability and functionality that is comparable to the Spotify’s and Pandora’s out there, well... Shut Up and Take My Money!

Love it

Want to keep up with phish when they’re on tour and be the first to hear the night before’s show with exceptional sound quality as well as a whole slew of handpicked shows not to mention several awesome live videos of certain concerts is well worth the cost and a must have for any phanatic like myself. thank you phish for creating LivePhish and providing me with an unlimited amount of nothing less then gold and diamonds to my ears.

The never ending Phish show

I love the Live Phish app although it’s weighted to the recent years (2002-present). LivePhish is quite skimpy on the early classic years (80s and 90s). Where’s Clifford Ball and Big Cypress? Amy’s Farm 91? Oswego 99....Besides that, there’s countless hours of great music.

And I do continue to utilize the free options, such as featured shows and Live Phish radio. I always tune into the radio on my iPad. The sound quality of the tracks is never less than stellar. You can listen all night and day. It’s like listening to the never ending Phish show.

Great app

Love LivePhish and the band! Great to have the latest show so quick after it’s been played!
One problem I notice is that if I’m in the middle of a song/show and have to stop listening, LivePhish needs to restart itself when I come back to it and I need to refund my place. This happens even when I’ve stopped listening for only a few hours or so. Would be great to be able to get right back into the jam!
