This virtual trade tool should have a spread order ticket allowing for spread orders. And it currently has glitches where if there are too many open int trades in play it will drop open trades closing them without any historical record. These improvements would put the CME virtual trade tool at the top of the industry. Assuming it is possible to improve upon it.
Resetting every 1/2 minute or so with a 1 minute chart makes this latest version hard to use. Btw, who even uses 1 min charts anyway? Totally worthless. At a minimum, there should be an option to pause the updating, but what should really happen is that the chart refreshes with the time frame on the chart.
This is the most cumbersome update yet. When looking at longer term (>1 min) charts they reset every 45 seconds and go back to the 1 min chart. There is no data H L C etc when moving through the charts. I haven’t found a way to change the duration of moving averages. There may be way to navigate these issues but I haven’t found them yet in the first couple of visits since update.
You’ve tried to fix something that wasn’t broken in my opinion. It now takes me 2 touches to get into my portfolio where before it took zero. It used to update as soon as I opened CMEGroup throughout the day, now in my portfolio I have to wait for the timer to reset and update itself which is annoying. The next annoyance is if I’m in a corn or soybean contract looking at the chart, as soon as the timer resets if reloads the chart back to the 1 minute candles even if I’d been looking at the daily or weekly candles. Lastly I wish the text was colored green or red for positive or negative action on the day. I say all this in hopes you’ll consider fixing these issues.
CMEGroup “improvements” were anything but. It’s less organized and more confusing to use as of the changes a few months ago, and now the widget has been discontinued, which I really liked for a quick glance at the top three commodities I follow.
CMEGroup is good and would be 5 stars if it worked on the iPad. PLEASE, add this feature. There is a large demographic that works primarily on iPad. Don’t force us to use apps designed for iPhone. Thanks in advance to the Developers!

CME's site has improved over past couple of years. Easier to maneuver and find important information.
The speed the charts load (on my iPhone 7+) is as fast as ever. The delayed updates to Bid/ask are as quick as well
Older versions use to occasionally show stale data, correct values with wrong net changes, or even just wrong values. This didn’t happen often, but when it did it showed why you can’t rely on CMEGroup for real investment info. This version seems more robust during first 3 weeks of my use.
App works great and is FREE! Not sure why people complaining about using symbols you would put into any trading platform(/CL) versus having the name(WTI crude oil). Anyone who trades any of these products knows what CLZ5 or ESZ5 are(and when they roll)
Many times when I try to look at my portfolio it will tell me data is unavailable and it won’t show me a current price.
If it wasn’t for Chicago mercantile exchange, I wouldn’t be able to have the knowledge I have today. I am so grateful for this community. I would love to possibly partner with CME one day in hopes of bettering this world…!
This is an EXCELLENT app- want CMEGroup owner to be aware that i updated to latest version this morning 6/1/20 and now once CMEGroup starts to open, it immediately crashes. iPhone 8.
The Front month should not disappear till it expires and after the roll . After the roll the new from should automatically remove what was the second month that became the front month
