I am a long time fan, have literally read and watched every single comic strip and video available on the old app. I also own and love playing joking hazard.

This new app has nothing new or improved to offer.

The only difference is that you can scroll down between comic strips like Instagram and between all the scrolling you get bombarded with advertising.

It seems to me that the only reason CyanideHappiness exists over the old one is so that you can sell more ad space.

Considering some of you videos have also recently been made up of more than a half to 3/4ths of the video for advertising is very disappointing.

I understand your company needs to make money, but as artists who always went against the status quo, you’re starting to come off as sellouts looking for that extra buck at every corner.

I like the old app and will not be downloading the new one any time soon. I like you guys, but you can stick your new app where the sun don’t shine

Hello. Long time C&H fan. Not a supporter of the new app. Unlike the previous app, when you tap into a comic you can’t scroll left/right (or up/down) to go to next. You have to back up, then manually find the next one. I understand this sounds lazy, but it is functionality lost from the old app. Makes it difficult to use for me.

Additionally, where is the archive? The old calendar view to see all comics in the order they were released. This is a base level must have, abandoning the old app without that in place on the new is insane.

Thank you for producing content. I appreciate it, I’m just disappointed in the rush job of the new app.

I had purchased CyanideHappiness years ago, liking the content enough to purchase the premium version. With the newest version, it is not only showing ads, reverting back to an unpaid version, but forcing me to pay an additional $4.99 to unlock already bought features. I hope the creators fix this soon, as it’s embarrassing to see from smaller content creators.

It’d be nice if the random cartoon thing actually worked instead of it constantly showing me the same 10 cartoons over and over and over and over again… not very random. I just got one cartoon 3 times in a row, and another one i’ve seen 6 times in the last 5 minutes of trying to find ones I haven’t read recently. It doesn’t seem random if i’m only seeing the same few cartoons out of hundreds of them.

It’d also be nice if there was a way to keep track of which months i’ve already viewed, because it’s hard trying to remember which month and year i stopped at the last time I pooped, since I’ve been trying to read all the comics from the beginning while doing my business.

Aside from the cleaner integration of comic shorts, I prefer every single feature and function of the old app over the current one.

If you wanted to change the UI color scheme on the old app, you could’ve done that— but I am yet to see any advantage to the new app... definitely would’ve done some more development before shifting everyone over to an app with far less capabilities.

Let that cheese mature a bit (then you can reference my suggestion when you release the update)

Junk mail is the best short! The new app doesn’t let you go to a random comic and browse from there. For multiple day storylines it doesn’t work. I’ll probably use the old app until it loses functionality.
*edit seems they added an archive that may resolve my issue. We shall see!

Having the comic system and randomizer is a nice touch to exploring old comics but most people i would believe just scroll through and going through that and having to exit CyanideHappiness or close your phone only to open it and have to scroll all the way back to the comic you finished reading because you forgot the date (which sounds specific, but has happened to me wayyy to many times :/ ) Implanting a book mark system would be nicer if you didn't want to always click on the “random comic” button. Showing off the merchandise store inside CyanideHappiness would also be useful. Good concept otherwise 👍🏽

I’m not usually one for rating apps, but they deserve it for sure. They drew me in over a decade ago with their simple (but pretty twisted) comics, and I’ve been hooked ever since! The newer version of CyanideHappiness sometimes may be slightly buggy (very rarely), but it’s miles ahead of their former one which would crash fairly frequently. That being said the content is still absolute gold, and everyday I look forward to seeing what they put out next. Please support them so I can selfishly continue laughing!

It’s a lot more responsive than the old app and the shorts work great! The one thing I miss is being able to go back to comics by year. I hope this is added in the future because they’re are some gold in past years that I feel may be lost with it’s long run and current releases of daily strips.

Preetty gooooood. But! Some minor nagging. When I look at all the previous months, it does not show thumbnails. It just plops me at the beginning of the month. Fix, plz. Thanks, really though, I have been quite enjoying it. It makes each comic look clean and does not automatically stretch it so the top is hidden by my iPhone 11 Pro Max. That was a pesky problem on the previous app. Now, approaching perfection!

I used to look at the explosm website for Cyanide & Happiness comics, but as soon as I saw the ad for your app on your “Agent 7: Blast Off” short, I downloaded immediately! It’s so much better than navigating the website; thanks for making this ❤️

I don’t know how you folks have managed to keep the quality as high as you have, and the expressiveness of the deceptively simple artwork as high, but the package just clicks as well today as it did nearly a decade ago. That’s a pretty impressive track record.

i have been a fan of Cyanide & Happiness since 2012, and they still give me great laughs and chuckles with their shorts and comics. the new app is a pretty good reversion that makes reading random comics much easier, and the more simple design feels better to navigate CyanideHappiness with, but we’re still missing the helpful feature to select any comic from any year, its hard to be able to find comics from a year you love. more work can be put into CyanideHappiness, which would make it even better, thanks for reading!

The system is user friendly and easily allows you to scroll through comics or change to their short films. It also has a like button feature which is great for keeping track of what you have already watched. I love the great content and great app.

I have been reading this comic for years and I love it but I really miss being able to scroll through each comic like in the old app. It feels hard to see them all if that makes sense.

I finally have a source to read all the comics properly. Even if they don’t connect together in any way that’s not the point. The point is that Cyanide and Happiness were willing to give us CyanideHappiness for free to let us enjoy all the weird stuff they have made. Appreciate years of work being compiled for your brains fun nourishment

Honestly, I do not regret downloading this one bit. It's great!

My only complaint is that I wish there was a better way to scroll through comics in chronological order. Right now, if you close CyanideHappiness , it puts you back at the current date. I wish there was a way to save where I was scrolling at.

Same with favorites. It would be nice if those were organized by how recent I saved them as opposed to date they came out. Or at least if there was a way to sort everything (say I could switch between date favorited and date created).

Anyways. Great app. I've had lots of laughs and giggles so far, and can't wait to see near-daily comics.

These comics have been a staple of my life everyday for years, the apps works better than the old, only complaint I might have is that using the comic randomized doesn’t seem to work quite right, over the course of a 10 minute binge spree, it’ll show me the same comics 4-5 times, and that seems to be the case every time I try it, but either way, I don’t know how I’d get by without this

Hey nice app, c&h has made a good portion of my childhood and im glad to see yall are still making content to this day. The c&h app helps me organize the vids so i know which one came when and etc, but i would recommend adding a notification feature so i get notified when new content comes out. I know CyanideHappiness is prob still pretty new and under development, but just wanted to put in my suggestion. I never really do reviews either. this is probably the 2nd time ive ever voluntarily rated an app on appstore ‘3’ but anyways gl yall c&h has a bright future ahead

At the moment, CyanideHappiness is not as good as the original app. I miss being able to go back to a certain month or year and re-read those comics. Right now if you want to go back to, say, June 2015, you’d have to scroll...and scroll...and scroll...If the option to select past comics to read is reintroduced then I will definitely update the rating.

I have been using the old app sense it came out. I like the feature of being able to show all the comics in a archive. If I want to look at a older comic I either have to hit the random button or scroll for a long time to get anywhere.

I do like the fact that I can scroll to see more comics instead of pressing a button.

I’ve been following C&H since 2008 so I trust they know what they’re doing, but I don’t understand CyanideHappiness change. This is the new app they’re migrating to, but they’re removing features from the previous app. This feels more like a retrograde in an attempt to integrate more ads into the mobile experience. Disappointed.

As stated from others please have an easier way to access past stuff without having to scroll forever. Also, I paid for premium, because you guys are awesome, but I’m still getting ads? Is that still supposed to happen?

This is an edit from my previous review, I’m very excited to see the old comics again with the history section of CyanideHappiness , i love it. You guys are amazing and hope to see more stuff you guys make.

CyanideHappiness is great. I've met a few of these guys in Denver at DCC and even have some original art. I highly recommend CyanideHappiness to anyone with a twisted sense of humor.
