I first used StoryCorps in the fall. I recorded two interviews and got the hang of it. I'm going to use it at my family reunion. It's definitely much improved. There are new questions added and it seems faster moving from one step to the next. I also found out I can listen to some this app stories that are like what I hear on NPR. I find something new whenever I open up StoryCorps!

StoryCorps is great for doing oral histories. It provides suggested questions as well as allows you to propose your own. StoryCorps also let’s you order the questions and record the audio for the interview.

However StoryCorps does not backup your interviews - so if you do a factory reset without uploading your interviews to the archives. You will lose them. I found this out the hard way.

My wife and I have been using StoryCorps for the last two years to record annual reflections on our relationship. I had saved the interviews on my phone, but had trouble uploading them to the archive. Well this year I had to do a factory reset on my phone and lost all of our interviews. So upload your interviews!

I put off recording a story for the longest time, thinking it would be very intimidating and difficult to do. However, when I finally sat down with my dad, the conversation just flowed and flowed, and it turns out that 45 minutes isn’t nearly enough to record a lifetime! I highly recommend that you sit down with loved ones or even a favorite friend or neighbor and start a conversation. You’re going to love it!

I put off doing some homework, and I had to interview my dad. My teacher recommended StoryCorps, and I decided to try it out. The user face is super easy to use and it’s great for interviewing people. You have the questions with you as you are interviewing, and can pause the recording at any time! You can even upload a photo with the recording! If there were 6 stars instead of five, I would give it a 6/6

I have recorded just one interview, but the process was easy and fun. The only problem I had was that in order to upload the interview, I had to stay on the upload screen, and set my phone display where it didn’t time out - not a problem now that I know but it took me a few tries to figure it out. Highly recommend for saving your memories

StoryCorps does the job and it’s cool to have the history of these conversations. However I had problems trying to upload it or share it. I needed to share this with my teacher, so when i saved the video i still had it private. Though I didn’t know we ACTUALLY had to publish it to share a link. I did not know we had to put the setting to share with community before publishing it to share it. And whenever I try to change it, it won’t save to the community sharing and only private.

StoryCorps makes preserving memories of and with loved ones possible. I am so grateful it exists. I used StoryCorps a few years back to interview my father-in-law who passed away 2 years ago. This weekend my whole family is gathering to listen to his voice and reminisce. Thank you story corps for giving us such a special moment to share.

This is one of the most interesting apps I have ever used. I downloaded it for a class project but I think that I am going to keep using it to learn other people’s stories. It was surprisingly fun and I feel closer to the person I interviewed (which is impressive because we have known each other for 11 years and are going to be married soon).

I have been saying for years that I wanted to interview my dad, as he has amazing stories about his childhood. I’m not sure if I captured them as well as he has told them around the dinner table these many years, but regardless, this app has given me a chance to immortalize some of my family’s story. For that, I am truly thankful!

I’ve been meaning to record my parents story for several years and we finally did it tonight. This is their story, their history and we’re grateful we have this wonderful resource to share it with others.

My family said that my interview with my mother was the best gift they’d receive this Christmas. It’s fun to hear stories and check my understanding of things from the past. I highly recommend StoryCorps . Just be sure to unplug your phone and put your cell phone on airplane mode.

It is an amazing app to record and have the voices of loved ones with you even after they pass. It’s a great way to get to know someone and I believe everyone should sit down and have an interview with someone or just listen to someone talk about their life.

I downloaded this for school and I love StoryCorps because it is so easy to use and can be shared with people who want to know more. I’m exited to let people listen to what is going on in our lives and understand what we’re going through.

I love using this app app to record stories with my parents and in-laws while they are still here to share. I have learned so much, from funny family stories to life-altering incidents to historical data. What a gift to my kids and their kids.

StoryCorps completely unbundled the tech side of the interview. As a researcher who has fumbled with recorders and files for years, this was pure magic. There’s no excuse not to use this tool with those you love and the stories they have to Share.

StoryCorps was very easy to use. Went smoothly give you questions so you knew exactly what to ask, give you a time line so you knew how much time you had left, and just made it all easy and completely worthwhile!

Take the time to listen to someone, you could change their lives.

The interview format allows for focused, prolonged attention by the interviewee to formulate in depth and nuanced answers that can otherwise be interrupted by our personal devices.

What an amazing idea. I enjoyed this so much!! I feel that preserving our personal histories is a must to keeping our countries history alive. We all take part in shaping history, let’s keep it going!

A great way to keep details about family lore and history. Easy to use. No special equipment. I struggled with how to keep all the stories my mother told me. When a friend suggested Story Corps, it was exactly what I needed!

The this app app makes it both easy and convenient to capture stories of friends and family. Oral history is such a helpful way to record the stories of everyday people.

StoryCorps is fabulous to create and archive interviews with family members. It allows you to share the interview with others and tag dates, locations and people. Plus, they are all archived with this app at the Library of Congress. Fantastic way to archive family history for generations to come.
