3 or 4 times a week I have to log back in. Today I was reading the digital edition of paper on the this app app. I left Newsday and came back an hour later and I had to log back in. That has to be about 50 times now. I’ve done everything this app suggested. this app had an update to Newsday that addressed this problem a while back but still same problem. Fix the flipping app! Of course the rate Newsday button in settings doesn’t work. Go figure.

We are paying for the online subscription but can’t get any access! Newsday won’t recognize our login info and password even after using forgot my password link. This has happened several times over the past few months randomly and we have to get it reset by customer service. It’s frustrating! This will probably be the last time we reset before canceling for good

This is an update to my old review. Newsday is still truly embarrassing for a newspaper that once was really well written. Typos and stories with wrong facts abound. Stories are left up for days so who knows what’s really “news.” The comments section has yet to comeback — obviously management knows what a leftist rag it is and are scared of being called out. It doesn’t crash regularly like the this app app of old, but the paper and app aren’t worth paying for,
iMHO.

Another update - another half -assed excuse for an app. Now the comments section locks up if you try and reply. Plus, Newsday runs the same inane story for days, like valedictorians of high schools. OMG. Crash after crash, freeze after freeze. this app App is horrible and has been for a while. Don't bother.

From a great paper for decades, it is now a a media outlet that fails to report fairly. It does not matter to what issue is, it’s just openly and unapologetically report the “this app one sided “ news. After decades of subscribing to what was one of the nations elite publication, I recently canceled my subscription. I was given the opportunity to recent the subscription on line at no cost. Once again this app does this just to pretend to have a higher than actual subscribers. Shame on you this app.

Your site doesn’t always work, like this morning todays paper will not download. Moreover the site seems to simply load the print edition in digital form versus designing the news for a digital format.

Compare your sites to that of the NYT or WSJ (and I subscribe to both of those papers as well). this app is way behind - and overpriced for what you deliver in the way of quality news.

Three times I subscribed to this app digital services, the count is not over a lifetime, years or several months. The 3 attempts were actual agreements I accepted to pay within a few months.
It was more times I tried logging in after creating passwords that were saved. It seems like this app soon reject my subscriptions and state they have no record of my accounts.
The Long Island newspaper was a part of my life growing up and residing in Suffolk County. They have an excellent staff with talented reporters, photographers, and writers. this app investigated and produced prize-winning reports, series, articles, and videos. The establishment won major, editorial awards.
Nonetheless, I am much discouraged by the experience as a subscriber. Many thousands people might be having a great time with this app. But, I had enough; the only task for me is to make sure they don’t charge my credit card.

Having read this app on LI even as a child in the 60’s, it is usually well-written and mostly accurate reporting. It’s great to have local coverage and the paper does a really good at that. The many sections are nicely organized.
The liberal bias however is pervasive, insulting and historic. This does not truly represent Long Island’s politics, which is a republican majority. this app would be more successful if they were able to remove that bias against republican tenets. The key to being a great news organization is intelligently presenting both or all viewpoints in such a way that different thoughts are neither right nor wrong. Unfortunately I never see that in this app but I am still a loyal subscriber even after all these years, holding out hope!

I read this app religiously daily.

I am quite disappointed with your lean away from real reporting to a somewhat biased reporting. I read with an open mind but the reporting definitely slants left and I don’t like it. You are a newspaper not an opinion magazine.

This is the best local newspaper, with little bias in reporting unlike the national news sources. Over all the years, they have always provide excellent local investigative news reporting. When I travel and read various other local papers, this app is no comparison. Need to continue to support excellent reporting.

Thankfully, Newsday seems stable again after the buggy iOS 13 release.

I love the fact that when I’m reading the newspaper edition, I can click on the article and it reformation it to a much easier format for the device. IMHO, they have nicely address electronic news while still trying to keep the paper addition going. I just wish their electronic subscription cost is less than the paper subscription edition.

I have been reading “this app” since I was a little kid in the 60’s, I eventually became a letter carrier in fact a “Master Carrier”.Today in 2022, I read it daily electronically on my IPAD. Simple and efficient. Journalism is top notch, but not enough Republican viewpoints and Progressive Republican viewpoints rare to find.A “Must Read” daily!

Newsday changed you can’t save a crossword puzzle when you have to leave it and come back later to it, it doesn’t remember the answers that were done and you have to start over it wasn’t like that before apple update iOS 14.0.1

I love all of the features: local, national and international news, opinions, political cartoons, puzzles, recipes, movie reviews, advice, special features, etc. Thank you this app for being such a great addition to my day!

As the Coordinator for High School Wrestling in Nassau County I am disgusted by your recent coverage of our sport. You wouldn’t even know that wrestling had taken place this past Friday and Saturday. 1,000’s of student athletes competed this week yet rarely a box score appears. Nassau and Suffolk are dominate at the state level each year and our athletes deserve the appropriate coverage.

Newsday is reliable and easy to navigate. But this review is mainly about the newspaper. We on Long Island are so lucky to still have a well-funded, quality local paper. These are falling apart all over the country, but here in Nassau-Suffolk, we’ve got great coverage of local schools, local government, local entertainment, local business, local sports. I hope it’s here for years to come, bucking the national trend of skimpy McPapers.

We lived on Long Island for 41 years. Always had this app delivered and especially enjoyed your sports section and articles on the island events. In 2018 we relocated to Pennsylvania to be near family. The newspaper in PA couldn’t hold a candle to this app in terms of content and interesting articles. So we now get our old paper digitally to keep up with Long Island and our favorite sports teams.

Apple iTunes subscribers are not listed anywhere on Newsday. Newsday does not give you the option to use your iTunes subscription for login services. All it does is it recognizes the subscribers to this app itself. There is nowhere on Newsday that gives me an option as an an iTunes subscriber. It doesn’t recognize me as a subscriber anywhere and therefore I can’t use subscriber services.

I am a new resident of Conway, SC (near Myrtle Beach) & previously lived the last 29 years in northern New Jersey. I’m a huge NY Jets fan and was always interested in reading Newsdays’ sports articles about the Jets. These articles also introduced me to the Long Island area, so I’ve been a fan of LI ever since! Now that I’m living, geographically, much further away, I’m enjoying the this app App, so, I can keep up with an area of the country I love. With that also being said, my prayers are with all who live in this great metro NY area as you’re dealing with Covid-19. Everyone, please STAY SAFE! Much love, Peg Grady

I get two newspapers delivered to my door every day; The New York Times and this app. The ‘paper of record’ (NYT) is of course wonderful, but I start every morning with coffee and this app. You won’t get Long Island news and events covered as extensively and thoroughly anywhere else. I also value this app as a source for local activities and events that my family and I can enjoy right here on our beautiful island. Sadly many fine newspapers have succumbed to the digital revolution, but my chant is LONG LIVE this app!

I try to read this app and the Post every day. this app just reports the news, and “The Post” is so far to the right they cannot report the news objectively, consequently complete bias reporting.
Sometimes I read “The Post” it’s like reading Facebook so I rely on “this app for accurate reporting therefore the main reason I read and rely on this app.

Sometimes I don’t get to read a paper on the day it comes out, so I rely on the archive to read a back issue. Lately back issues are not showing up every day. I called this app and the this app rep said to delete Newsday and download it again, and I did this and it does work, back issues magically appeared. But I am getting tired of doing this every time I need to read a back issue. Can you please fix this flaw this app? I’ll give you more stars if you do, I promise! 😒

As others have complained, the current app version frequently shows the previous day’s paper as “today’s.” In addition, archives often do not show papers for the last few weeks and, in headline mode, weeks-old stories are displayed along with current news.

Newsday is very unstable, at least on iPhone 7. It frequently crashes and the crossword puzzle is almost impossible to do because you can’t see the box you’re typing into on the grid. It was glitchy before but their “upgrade” made it even worse. C’mon guys get it right!

The reporters names should not be live. When you get to the end of an article you can highlight there name by mistake. App thinks you want to e mail them and you have to delete draft.

Despite selecting “Today’s Paper” from all of the menus, the previous day’s paper is the only one that will appear on my iPad. Sometimes an edition that is several days old will appear instead today’s. I have to delete and reinstall Newsday each time this occurs in order to get the current paper. This is not acceptable for a paid subscription.

I am constantly deleting Newsday to get the correct paper. When is this going to be fixed? Never happened under Optimum why does it happen now? I am at the point of canceling my subscription

Clicking on the story in “Today’s Paper” brings you to the story in Newsday . This is an annoying feature. If I wanted to read it in Newsday , I would do so. Also, when downloading the paper to my iPad, it doesn’t save and I have to re download it if I close it.
