V1 Golf: Golf Swing Analyzer Reviews

I’ve been using V1 for close to 8 years now and V1Golf for over a year. V1Golf is worthless compared to the PC version, V1 really needs to go back to the drawing board on this one. It won’t let me share videos with my pro (one of the main reasons for using it) the drawing tools are useless because trying to draw a straight line with your finger accurately is impossible even on iPad. Even using the straight line tool is still impossible to get an accurate line positioned correctly.

The customer support is ridiculous, your only option is through a messenger service which they don’t reply to in a timely manner, it took 4 days for the first reply! Then they asked a simple question that I’d already given the answer to in my initial request. Now haven’t heard back in 2 days!

I’m paying for the subscription and paying my pro a lot of money without being able to share video... Total junk!

My favorite swing app of all time is back and better than ever!! As a PGA professional I have used V1Golf for years and years and always loved it. A few months ago they came out with an update that just didn’t live up to the V1 quality I had come to expect, in fact it had quite a few very troublesome bugs.

I emailed and spoke with several people in the company (Kelly, Mike, Thom & Chris). All of them were very understanding and very helpful. So much so that they added me to their Beta testing team. So after weeks of testing, communicating and a boat load of hard work on their part they released this most recent update. All I can say is WOW!!! My V1 app was back to the quality I remembered AND they added a bunch of new features that really enhanced the user experience.

You can now trim and edit the videos with ease, add student names along with club used and save or send the videos to your students. Plus if you name the video, you can go back and search by your student’s name. Everything is seamless now.

This is a great app for looking at your swing in slow motion and comparing to pro swings. I’ve learned a lot from the pro swings in V1Golf , but my 1 complaint is there aren’t many pro swings available for free. It used to be that there were enough free features to make this a great app without the subscription. Actually, now that I think about it, I paid $9.99 for the paid version of V1Golf about 6 years ago and it had a ton of great features. At some point they switched to a subscription model and I lost a bunch of features and now have the same free version as everybody else.

I absolutely love V1Golf. Easy to use. Great features. And they keep improving it. You do have to know how to draw lines (eg swing plane) correctly and what to look for, so V1Golf is best as a compliment to lessons in my opinion. One killer feature that they could add would be iWatch compatibility. It would be great to start/stop the camera from your watch. Currently you set the timer to 10 or 15 seconds, hit the record button and walk back to your ball. Not a big deal of course but in the bright sun / glare it can be cumbersome. Overall great app and def worth the money.

I’ve used it to capture and analyze my swing, and it saves lessons created by my instructor. The model swings from pros are very helpful but they are very unorganized. It is a great app, and I haven’t seen anything that offers this much in a single app.

I’d like to see better tools to measure and mark up swing images. What it has is better than nothing, but it could be so much better.

There are so many pro model swings (hundreds) but the collection is so unorganized it’s hard to get full use of it. The camera positions are not consistent. Also, you don’t get a full set of videos any pro and only a few have a set that includes the four main ones - driver & iron, down-line & face-on.

I wish you could mark model swings as favorites. I would like the capability to put tags on them (for easier searches). I would also like the ability to put written notes on them.

Thanks for selling me a product then taking a portion of it back, and then offering to re-sell me that portion for a monthly fee! If I did that in my business I’d be in prison!

Make it right! Give me back the swing model Library that was part of what I originally paid for or grandfather me in!

Update: In response to your attempt to deflect and put a positive spin on my complaint I will respond with this, yes I do have access to the free swing model library, all 10 or 11 of them. When I paid for V1Golf originally(before you bought the company and/or decided to change your business model) I got ALL 50 or 60 swing models. And, no, I will not contact your customer service so they can help me locate the 10 free swing models that I already know where to find...as I’m not very impressed with your level of CS thus far!

How about this! You can contact me and tell me how sorry you are for ripping me off and to make up for that bad decision you’ve decided to offer me a free lifetime account to give me back what I rightfully paid for.

I can no longer record a swing and then immediately review the swing. After recording I now have to tap through 4 interfaces before I can analyzing the swing. I have to tap save, then tap out of record mode, then tap analyze before being able to break down the swing. This wastes a lot of time and is annoying to say the least. Next, It is no longer possible to delete more than one recording at a time.

Finally, you have to set the record delay time every time you record the swing. More wasted time

Has helped me so much. What you think your swing looks like isn’t even close to what it is in reality. V1Golf shows you what you need to work on. I use it at the driving range every time I practice. I wish it had an auto start and stop feature for the camera that senses when a swing has taken place and has stopped. Other similar apps have this so V1 should be able to provide it too. The professional swing models have a lot of players with camera angles that make them fairly useless for comparison of some things.

Overall I think this is a very good golf swing analysis app especially if you’re working with an instructor on the same platform. Some features that are missing include the inability to undo individual drawing elements, it’s all or nothing which can be frustrating when you only want to remove one line. There is also no angle tool in my version. Also, when you upload a video to your instructor it’s removed from your list so you can’t compare it to other swings. All in all it’s a very good app.

V1 is extremely professional an reliable an is extremely helpful with improving your golf game, support staff is second to none an if there is ever an issue the staff is the best
I’d also like to add as a frequent user of V1Golf it allows me the quick review of swings an able to critique an evaluate an pass onto my students, as with all apps there’s growing pains but what I’ve found that support staff is very professional an there able to correct any problems that arise I recommend V1Golf as the best,

This is a great app but it’s really time consuming to trim the videos. For those of us alone, we often set up the camera and then set up, swing, and walk back to stop the recording. To trim the recording down to the swing is really a pain. A really slick enhancement could be using Apple Watch app as a recording start and stop remote. The iOS camera app has this sort of functionality and it would be a great addition to V1 to improve controls when not next to phone.

I had an issue with V1Golf after updating my iPhone. There’s a support tab so I sent a message to the manufacturer anticipating a response within the typical “3-5 business day.” Mike, the director, responded almost immediately and we went back and forth in a chat style format like he was a personal friend. He fixed my problem within minutes. I dare you to find another golf app that will do this for you. I’ve been with V1 for 6 years and I’ll never change.

As a golf instructor I use the V1 app on a weekly basis to provide my students with the most amount of information possible. I would not be able to go into detail as much as I can without the V1 app are use it so much to provide before and after results for my players. Although I’ve tried other apps nothing comes close and is a simple to use I love the fact that you can download the videos and then also send them to my students for instant feedback.

V1Golf is great. It allows amateurs to be able to see what they’re doing differently than what they “feel” like they’re doing by watching their swing in slow motion. Gives you the satisfaction of having an instructor all on your own by comparing your swing to the pros by watching videos. Would be a 5star but it costs a little money to access more model swings. I thought there would be more model swings in the free version. Otherwise, fantastic tool to help amateur golfers

I have been using V1 golf for many many years. It just keeps getting better and better. Love the ability to run the video at different speeds. You also can stop the video and draw lines so you can check the swing positions of your swing. The model videos of touring pros is also excellent. You can also compare your swing side by side with the pros. You can stop videos side by side to compare your swing with the pro’s swing. Highly recommend this golf app.

Compare and overlay. Those two features set V1Golf apart. Using them allows me to very quickly spot the subtle improvements that I’m striving for.

I use the iPhone 6 camera exclusively for filming. After The session I then trim and import the swings into the V1 app. Importing is quick. From there I prefer to include the date along with a short note in the title able to title. This allows me to later scroll through and find the exact swings I want to compare.

This is the only golf video app that I continue to use...easy to use and so many functions there is no reason for any other. The library of videos of the tour professionals is impressive. So many players to choose from, I’m sure you could find one to match your students needs. The added extras is also a bonus.... customer support is very helpful and they don’t leave you hanging ...that’s a big deal to me ....

I’ve been using V1Golf for several years now and have concluded that it is indispensable in helping me develop a less nauseating swing for others in my foursome to watch. The recording and swing analysis features as well as being able to compare your swing to top role models is invaluable. I have also recently discovered the top pro in my neighborhood uses your app religiously for teaching.

The system itself is great. Frame by frame analysis and ability to draw reference marks on moving images is fantastic.

But with the latest update, nearly every time you start or exit an analysis, there is an advertisement to view and close before returning to using V1Golf . It really lowers the enjoyment of V1Golf usage / interface.

Also, historically speaking, swing models were free, but now are all subject to subscription. This too removes from enjoyment.

V1Golf is great. Everything about it works perfectly for your golf swing analysis. One of the best apps I have on my phone. The attention to detail as well as customer service is impeccable. Truly created by golfers for golfers. I messaged customer service thru V1Golf (which is really easy) about a problem I was having, within a few minutes they responded and fixed the problem.

I have been struggling mightily lately with inconsistent driving of the ball and bad cases of the chipping yips. My handicap going up 5 points made make the decision to try V1Golf. A friend of mine uses it and suggested for me. Immediately I notice two things with my swing. I was way to erect in my chipping posture cause me to get the club trapped behind me. I was able to adjust using V1Golf and going over fundamentals to correct my chipping woes. Additionally , using the down the line view I was able to see that I had my face slightly closed during my take away which was why I was pulling all my well struck drives. Excellent app, especially the Sol-mo analytical feature
