Works great if need to travel by subway in Beijing

Does not show nearest station, so hard to figure out your location especially if you are new to the city . The Shanghai version works great but not the Beijing version even after paying .

One thing is missing in this application, and this also applies to the Shanghai map too, there isn't a large view of the entire subway network. I would suggest that this is possible to do, and you can set it so that a person can view it when holding the iPhone horizontally.

New version does not include price of subway for the daxing airport line.

When switched to Chinese version, daxing airport line disappears.

App is very poorly updated. New 2018 Beijing lines operating a month, still not reflected in app.

I live in Beijing and the subway is my primary mode of transport. At first, ExploreBeijing was awesome. I used it regularly. I even supported the developer.

But after the iOS 10 update, problems began occurring regularly. Line 13 never shows as a faster route, the "email us" option doesn't work, times between stations are very hit or miss (6-10 minutes off at some) and I'm also not a fan of having to upgrade for EACH CITY map I download.

I'd love to alert the developer to the problem via another now but it seems the "rate ExploreBeijing" function is the only one that still works properly. A real shame as I've been telling everyone for over a year to download ExploreBeijing because it was the best.

This is obviously a great app, so I only have two suggestions:

1) It would be great if you could show the layout of each station or at least where the exits are (without having to connect to the internet)

2) It would be awesome if the timetable were adjusted to reflect long-term construction projects that affect the schedule...I know it's probably hard to reflect temporary daily changes (doing that would make this a 6 out of 5 stars), but at least having the long-term projects that go for a few months would be nice.

Just downloaded it and checked it out. Very well designed and intuitive. Does what you want it to do. Gives you an up-to-date subway map, incorporates your iPhone's GPS and map functions, includes local tips for each station fed in by users (some filtering or editing will be needed when these get too numerous). At two bucks, what's not to like?

Running OS4.0. Had no problems before update, now can't get it to load at all.
How do I go back to previous version?.......
Update,,,Seems it fails at low memory. Fast response from the support guy, Matt. Happy working again. I'll give it a few days and if OK, I'm getting Explore HK too !

I bought this one first for Beijing, then after seeing how useful it is (take the metro whenever possible - faster and less expensive than taxis), bought the Shanghai one too. Don't leave your hotel without it!

Absolutely great app, even on an iPad. Graphics scale up quite nicely, and the built in street map view (internet required) is a real convenience. You can even hear a pronunciation of each station write in ExploreBeijing . So useful!

The Beijing subway system was changed nearly a month ago with no response from the developers of ExploreBeijing. Would rate 5 stars if updated regularly.

As someone that travels regularly in Asia, these apps are great. One thing is preventing me from giving it five stars: in previous versions you could touch a subway line and get a pop-up bubble telling you what line it is. I miss that; being color blind means the guide at the bottom does not really help me!

Easy to read on an iPhone. Woks off line (so you can actually use it on the subway)!! Highly recommended

Easy to follow. Quickly find the nearest station. You can flag where you will start/stop and receive info on the number of stops and time duration.

Best Bejing subway app that even reads out the name of each station! App is stable and updated and worth the $0.99 as all else is never both stable and updated....

I paid for the full app a few years ago. Now the developer issued app for free and now requests more money to get functionality my paid version used to have. There is no restore purchase or recognition that I did pay for it. I have invoice and can prove to developer. Waiting for his reply.

ExploreBeijing has been applied numerous times getting us around Beijing. It has been used innumerable times in the two years we have lived in Beijing.

Works great. Nice layout and best of all is the plan the Route option. Ingenious! Very helpful. I completely recommend this for anyone traveling/living in Beijing
